"Ben 10? The heck kind of name is that?" Bakugo asked.
"Do you think it's possible he has ten Quirks?" Kaminari guessed.
"That's impossible. Even in our world, the most anyone would ever wind up with is two." Todoroki said.
"But this ISN'T our world! Maybe things are different." Kirishima countered, excited at the possibility.
"Maybe he's British and it's a reference to Big Ben, the clocktower in London?" Hagakure guessed.
"I certainly doubt he's Japanese with a name like Ben. It's usually most common in America." All Might said.
"Maybe it has something to do with the aliens? Maybe he's an alien trying to act human and he's ten times better than a normal human?" Present Mic asked.
"Ooh! Or maybe he's on a hero team with ten different aliens!" Ashido said eagerly.
"How about we just watch it and find out." Aizawa grumbled.
We open in outer space, where a string of explosions can be seen in an asteroid field, not far from Jupiter.
"Ooh, we're starting off in space already! That means we must be starting with the aliens!" Ashido cheered.
"I wonder if we'll see any that are as dazzling as moi?" Aoyama wondered.
"As long as they aren't here to take over the world, I'm happy." Sato said.
A teal and green ship was flying through space, when it was suddenly hit by several laser blasts from a massive brown and orange ship. However, it was still functional and the crew was more than willing to fight back, as they fired two green beams into the brown ship, doing significant damage.
"Oh, heck yeah! Space battles! So awesome! It's just like in Star Wars!" Sero declared.
"But which one's the bad guy?" Todoroki asked.
"I'd wager the smaller ship. That big one looks like a warship. You don't have something like that unless you're planning on GOING to war." Shoji said.
"Besides, the smaller ship is blue and green and the big ship is brown and red. Everyone knows blue and green are always good the good colors and red are the bad guys." Kaminari added.
"Don't be stupid, Kaminari! That's just in movies. We just have to wait to see who does what." Jiro told him.
Inside the large ship, several lights were flashing on a control board overseen by several robotic officers. "Hull damage: 20 percent, weapons system's still operational." The Lieutenant informed the commander of the ship.
Said Commander was revealed to be a tall and slender, but still VERY imposing figure with green skin, wearing a dark red bodysuit and arm-length gloves with spiky black shoulder pads. But his most defining feature was his tentacles on his jawline almost like a beard and a strange, green liquid sac that curved around the entirety of his head from one side of his mouth to the other.
Many were shocked or intimidated at this alien's presence. "O-okay, I'm definitely thinking this guy is the villain." Koda said nervously, clinging to a plush bunny he had requested from Yaoyorozu.
"You don't know that! Right now, he's definitely MY hero... TENTACLES." Mineta said, before getting slapped in the face by Asui's tongue.
"I have come too far to be denied. The Omnitrix shall be mine. And there is not a being in the galaxy that dares stand in my way!" The menacing figure declared, his hand trembling in fury, before slamming his fist down on the armrest of his chair.
"Okay, yeah. He's definitely evil. No good person talks like that." Jiro said.
"But what's the Omnitrix?" Uraraka wondered
"If he's attacking a transport in order to steal it, I'd wager it's either a high-powered energy source or an incredibly powerful weapon." Midnight theorized.
"But when they say a line like that, you KNOW we're about to see the hero next!" Dark Shadow cheered.
"Indeed. Whoever they are, they must be a truly powerful being to stand against this villain and robotic forces." Tokoyami declared.
Meanwhile, on Earth. A young boy, no more than ten years old with brown hair and greenish-yellow eyes, sat in class, making a paper airplane.
"A fucking kid?! How's he going to stop that hentai freak!" Bakugo demanded.
"Aww, he's kind of cute~" Hagakure cooed.
"He should be focusing on his schoolwork, not wasting time and paper by crafting that useless paper airplane!" Iida snapped, robotically chopping his arms.
And upon finishing his creation, he tossed it forward, sending it through the air into the back of his teacher's head. Said teacher gasped at this, before turning around and giving the boy a small glare, to which the boy poorly tried to act innocent by pretending to read his book, smooshing his face in between the pages.
"Honestly, I have to agree with Iida. He should be absorbing the knowledge before him. And paper airplanes are a hazard. He could've taken her eye out if she had turned at the wrong time." Yaoyorozu admitted.
"That would never really happen." Kaminari said dismissively.
"Actually, yes, it did. A teacher got hit in his eyes and lost vision in it. So, yes, it can cause damage, Kaminari. Which is why if I catch any of you doing it, you'll be expelled." Aizawa warned them.
Then, they couldn't help but laugh as Ben tried to act like he was doing work. "I think you already got caught, buddy." Uraraka giggled.
"Not to mention, there's no way he could read with his face smooshed deep into the book like that." Asui pointed out.
Suddenly, everyone jumped when they heard a familiar booming voice amongst them. "Benjamin Kirby Tennyson! A ten-year-old student of Belwood Elementary school in California, USA! Mischievous and rambunctious with a TOTAL aversion to learning, he still has a good heart and wishes to do whatever he can to help people!" Present Mic suddenly introduced the boy, drawing everyone's attention.
"Mic... What was that?" Midnight asked.
"Oh. Anemone gave me these cards when everything first started and told me to announce what they say like in my radio show! They were blank at first, but this one suddenly lit up. I guess that's when I'm supposed to give the big reveal." The energetic hero explained.
"Well, it's nice to know his heart is in the right place." Midoriya said with a smile.
"Indeed. Mischievous antics aside, I do believe Young Tennyson sounds like he could be an upstanding hero." All Might agreed with his successor.
"USA? So, he's American, then. This should be neat! I love a lot of American action movies!" Uraraka said.
"So, what is his Quirk?" Midoriya asked, pulling out his notebook.
"He doesn't have one. There are no Quirks in this universe. The aliens you see will have incredible, greatly varying powers, but for the most part, the humans only have their skills and technology to rely on." Maverick explained.
"A Quirkless ten-year-old going up against that guy? I REALLY don't like the sound of that." Ojiro said.
"Oh, come on, guys. Give him a chance! I bet Ben will find a way to do something super manly!" Kirishima declared.
The clock ticking down to the end of the school day as Ben waited for the bell to ring. "Come on... Come on..." Ben pleaded anxiously, wishing for school to finally be over.
"Pay attention in class, Tennyson! It is critical to absorb all the information you learn in school to assist you moving forward in life!" Iida scolded.
"Actually, Young Iida, Americans generally prefer to be called by their first name instead of their last name like in our culture. So, to be most respectful, we should refer to him as Benjamin, or simply Ben." All Might informed, the students nodding in understanding.
"Good thing, since they'll be dealing with three different Tennysons the whole time." Maverick whispered to Anemone, who nodded.
"I know I'm always excited when our normal school classes are over, but he seems EXTRA excited." Kaminari pointed out.
"It's the last day before Summer vacation." Anemone explained.
"Oh, that makes sense." Hagakure admitted, also excited when Summer vacation rolls around.
"And they get three whole months off, right? Lucky." Mineta grumbled, only imagining what it'd be like to have TWICE as long on Summer break to peak at girls on the beach.
"And I just want to remind you all that I will be teaching summer school this year, and it's not too late to sign up!" The teacher helpfully reminded them.
"Yeah, right." Ben scoffed at the idea of missing summer vacation.
"He really should open up to the idea more. It's important to take whatever advantages we can get to gain more knowledge and excel academically to achieve the best versions of ourselves and open up the most opportunities in the future." Yaoyorozu said, disapproving of Ben's dismissal of learning.
"Well, he is from The States, after all. They generally have a much more relaxed view on education in favor of freedom and enjoying life. Heck, with the exception of prestigious private academies, most of their schools don't even have uniforms." All Might explained.
The bell then finally rang. "Yes! Outta here!" He cheered, quickly heading to the door with the other students.
"Everyone, have a good vacation and I hope to see you all again in the fall." The teacher called. Ben walks towards the classroom door. However... "Benjamin, could I have a word with you before you go?" She asked, holding up Ben's paper airplane..
Ben huffed and walked over to the teacher's desk.
"Busted~" The Bakusquad, minus Bakugo himself, all teased.
"Oh, yes. Like you all haven't gotten in trouble for doing outrageous things. NONE of you can lie and say you haven't." Aizawa said, sending the teens into a cold sweat.
Meanwhile, outside. two bigger, older boys had another boy around Ben's age backed up to a tree. "Normally, we'd take your money and beat you up. But since it's the last day of school, we're going to give you a break. Now fork over the cash, so we can get out of here." The leader ordered.
"School bullies. Despicable." Midnight growled in anger.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" Uraraka snapped, not noticing the shameful look on Bakugo's face.
"Yeah... Bastards..." He said morosely as he recalled his past, tormenting Deku all those years.
"Those are Cash Murray and JT... We don't know his last name. And yeah, they're the school bullies." Maverick explained.
"Cash? And he wears a Cash register shirt? Wow, how much of a tool can you be?" Jiro asked.
"Leave him alone!" Ben demanded.
"Good job, Ben. You're already acting like a hero." Midoriya said, smiling once again.
"But he should be telling a teacher instead of trying to handle the situation himself!" Iida pointed out.
"You must have better eyes than me, Iida, because I'm not seeing any teachers around anywhere. Where do you see them?" Kaminari said in a slightly mocking manner, putting a hand over his brow as he looked around.
"He's got you there, Speedy Listener! Sometimes, there are no teachers around to help and by the time you run and find one, they might have already beaten up the boy and stolen his money." Present Mic explained.
"That's assuming they do anything at all, until YOU do something first, then YOU get in trouble for starting a fight." Aizawa grumbled, having seen situations like this before with other teachers, both in HIS time at school and with his colleagues in UA now. That's why he punishes BOTH students when he sees a fight break out.
"Get lost, shrimp." JT snapped.
"I said, back off!" Ben demanded more forcefully.
This attitude finally forced the bully's attention to Ben. "Oh, looks like we got us a hero. Suppose we don't wanna back off?" Cash questioned.
"That was definitely brave of him, but this is a real bad situation for him. It's two-on-one. Against opponents that are bigger than him. And we don't know if he knows how to fight." Ojiro said in concern.
"No way! Ben's got manly righteousness on his side!" Kirishima cheered.
"Unless this 'manly might' gives him the strength of Death Arms, I don't like his chances." Todoroki said bluntly.
"What are ya gonna do about it, Tennyson?" JT taunted.
The three stared at each other intently, then Ben ran towards them triumphantly.
"Come on, Ben! You can do it!" Kirishima cheered.
"Teach those jerks a lesson!" Uraraka cheered as well.
"Such a triumphant, heroic, useful spirit!" Midnight cried out in amazement.
A short, one-sided battle, Ben and Jamie were hung up on a tree branch by their underwear, as a squirrel squeaked and scarpered off.
There was a short pause, before... "Well, that was anticlimactic." Sero said simply.
"Oof. Mega wedgie. That sucks. I feel your pain, buddy." Mina said sympathetically. While she didn't have it NEARLY as bad as Shoji, she still often found herself bullied for her pink skin and horns, that bullying often including wedgies, often hooked onto her horns in an atomic. Heck, even in UA, she found herself getting hanging wedgies on a chain-link fence alongside Uraraka and Asui, only being annoyed at the predicament while the other two girls' faces contorted in pain and discomfort.
"Why would you ever even want to touch someone's underwear?" Asui asked in disgust.
"If it's a girl, why WOULDN'T you?" Mineta asked quietly. But not quietly enough, if the giant tongue smacking his head was any indication.
"Thanks a lot." Jamie said sarcastically.
"I was just trying to help." Ben said apologetically.
"Next time you wanna play hero, make sure you can back it up." Jamie snapped.
"How ungrateful! This boy truly lacks panache!" Aoyama said, aghast.
"To be fair, he doesn't have much to be grateful for in this moment." Tokoyami admitted.
"Yeah. Before, they were just gonna take his money. Now, he's stuck up in the tree being humiliated with a giant pain in his ass. And that's a pair of underwear that's ruined and gonna need money to replace." Dark Shadow agreed.
"And this is why you students need hero training. Because even with the greatest Quirk of all time, if you don't know what you're doing, you're just gonna make things worse." Aizawa told his students harshly.
Then, a rusty old RV pulled up, where an burly elderly man is seen driving. "Come on, Ben, let's go! We're burning daylight. I wanna make it to the campsite by nightfall." The old man called out through the windows.
"Uh, Grandpa? A little help here?" Ben called to his elder.
"Yeah, can he not see Ben's stuck in a tree?" Sato asked.
"If he can't, I'm not sure he should be driving." Shoji said.
"M-maybe he just thought Ben was sitting up in the tree?" Koda suggested, trying to give the elderly man the benefit of the doubt.
"One hell of a way to sit." Bakugo scoffed.
"Any info on him, Mic?" Aizawa asked.
Present Mic looked at the cards he was given, the elderly man appearing on the card. "Hm... Nothing like with his grandson. All I've got right now is his name. Max Tennyson." The radio host hero explained.
"I have SO been looking forward to this!" Ben said excitedly as he entered the Rust Bucket with his grandfather, before noticing a girl with orange hair and green eyes in a light and dark blue shirt with a cat symbol on the chest and white pants, sitting at the table. "What are you doing here?" He questioned, before turning to his grandfather. "What is she doing here?" He questioned once again.
"Ooh, who's this? She's cute, too~" Mina cooed once again.
"Maybe she's a little girlfriend of his~" Hagakure theorized. And though none could see her face, they could tell by her tone she had a lewd smirk.
"Hagakure! He's 10! That's far too young to be in a relationship!" Yaoyorozu said, aghast.
"Seriously, Toru, I know you and Mina love shipping, but this is a little out of hand." Ojiro agreed.
"Besides, why would his grandfather take his grandson's girlfriend on a road trip?" Serio asked.
"Take it easy, dweeb. This wasn't my idea. Somebody convinced my mom that 'going camping for the summer would be a good experience for me'." Gwen explained in annoyance.
"Grandpa, please. Tell me you didn't..." Ben said desperately.
"I thought it would be fun if your cousin came along with us this summer." Max explained with a smile, before soon losing it. "Is... that a problem?" He asked his grandchildren, although it was clear there was no room for argument, leaving Ben and Gwen to only share a look at each other silently.
"COUSIN?! Nope! I take it back! I take it SO FAR back!" Hagakure quickly backtracked on her shipping theory.
"Well, nice to see the grandpa's not willing to put up with nonsense." Aizawa praised.
"Still, that's a bit cruel, making your grandchildren that don't like each other spend three months together." Kaminari said.
"Three months of time to bond with each other. Common experiences are an excellent way to improve relationships. Before Young Midoriya and Bakugo came to UA, they could hardly tolerate each other. Now, they are at least capable of working together." All Might said.
The Rust Bucket pulled away from the stop, revealing its license plate. "Aw, I can't believe it. I wait all school year to go on this trip, and now the queen of cooties is along for the ride." Ben complained.
"Ben! You should be nice to girls! Picking on them is SO not manly!" Kirishima complained.
"They're kids, they all do that at that age! The opposite gender is the mortal enemy. It's normal." Kaminari said.
"Really? I had many female friends before UA." Aoyama said.
"See? Perfectly normal!" Kaminari declared, causing Aoyama to look shocked as he'd just been roasted.
"Hey! I had my own vacation already all planned out too, you know?" Gwen explained, pulling out her schedule. "Each activity is color-coded, so I never do the same thing two days in a row." She elaborated proudly, showing the schedule off to a very surprised Ben.
"What kind of ten-year-old makes ANY kind of schedule, let alone a color-coded one?!" Sero asked in disbelief.
"Right? When I was that age I was playing with action figures or practicing air guitar!" Present Mic agreed.
"I think Gwen should be praised for genius planning and immaculate organization skills! Such a carefully crafted schedule would ensure maximum enjoyment over her vacation." Iida praised. "It's just a shame all that organization has gone to waste." He lamented, moping like he did on the bus to the USJ.
"Now, I'm stuck with my geekazoid cousin going camping for three months." She complained.
"Geek." Ben insulted her.
"Jerk." Gwen fired back.
"Something tells me it's gonna be a long summer..." Max said to himself as The Rust Bucket was driving out of Bellwood onto Route 66.
"You're the one that set this up, dumbass. The hell were you expecting?" Bakugo questioned.
"Maybe he only spends special occasions with them, so he doesn't know they don't get along great?" Uraraka theorized.
"Or maybe he's willing to put up with it to spend time with his two grandkids he loves. Like how I put up with Mineta to spend time with all of you." Asui said, ignoring Mineta's indignant whining.
Later in the day, the trio of Tennysons gathered in the woods around a table-bench, with Max bringing out a bowl of food to the kids. "Chow time!" Max declared, plopping down a bowl of still-wriggling worms, to Ben and Gwen's disgust.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" All the boys cried out.
"EWW!" All the girls (Plus Present Mic) cried out. Minus one...
"Yummy." Asui said, causing the others to look at her in shock.
"Is he trying to poison them!?" Jiro demanded.
"Well, it's certainly an... UNUSUAL meal choice, but it's far from poisonous. Many countries have certain dishes made from insects." All Might told them.
"I suppose he's right. I've eaten snails before in escargot when I went to France with my parents." Yaoyorozu admitted.
"What is you life!?" Uraraka cried out, almost falling out of her chair if Bakugo didn't catch her by her shirt collar like a cat.
Ben looked at the bowl strangely, before looking to his grandfather. "Okay, I give up. What- is that?" He asked.
"Marinated mealworms. Hard to find them fresh in the States. You know, they're considered a delicacy in some countries?" He asked.
"Seriously! I respect all cultures and everything, but who in their right mind eats bugs?!" Present Mic said, not noticing the glare he was getting from Yaoyorozu after she JUST admitted she's eaten snails before.
"WE eat bugs, Mic. There's plenty of street vendors and even restaurants that serve bugs as meals." Aizawa told his friend.
"I've actually had a nice platter of grilled giant hornets before. Gotta say, that hit the spot." Midnight confirmed.
"...And totally gross in others?" Gwen said, one of the worms falling out the bowl and crawling on the table.
"If these don't sound good, I've got some smoked sheep's tongue in the fridge?" Max offered.
"Eww! That's so gross!" Uraraka shrieked.
"Better than bugs, though." Asui admitted.
"Indeed. While it may be somewhat unnerving, animal tongues have an abundance of nutrients to them that the rest of the animal may not have. And they're considered excellent for both physical and mental health." Iida explained.
"Urgh. Couldn't we just have a burger or something?" Ben asked as he and Gwen smiled at Max.
"Yeah, give me a cheeseburger any day." Kirishima agreed.
"With loaded fries." Kaminari added, trays containing the fast food appearing before them.
"Not the healthiest option though, guys." Ojiro pointed out, his Quirk requiring him to eat right to help maintain physicality.
"Nonsense. This summer's gonna be an adventure for your taste buds. -I'll grab the tongue." The elder said, heading back into the RV.
"Food is not something to be adventurous with!" Mineta said.
"I don't know, Mineta. Sometimes it's good to try new things, even if it looks like something you won't like. You might find something you love." Sato reasoned.
"Yeah. We probably all hated veggies as a kid, but now I'm sure we like them, right?" Ojiro asked, to which most of them reluctantly nodded.
Ben then slid over to Gwen. "Okay, I got a half-eaten bag of corn chips and a candy bar in my backpack. What'd you got?" He asked.
"Some rice cakes and hard candy." Gwen answered.
"Think we can make them last the whole summer?" He asked, to which the two sulked together, knowing their rations would run out very quickly and they'd be forced to dine on maggots or entrails.
"Poor kids." Ashido said, feeling bad for them.
"I mean, it's not a BAD idea to get them to try new things. But I would've eased them into it. Made the insects sides for the main meal or something." Midoriya suggested.
"Or made sure they weren't still alive and squirming." Koda said uncomfortably.
Vilgax's ship continued attacking the other transport, blasting lasers into the hull of it. "Their propulsion systems have been destroyed." The lieutenant informed.
"Oh, crap. Looks like squidy's about to get the other ship." Jiro said in concern.
"If they have any big trucks up their sleeves- or whatever they have, they'd better do it now. Or else the Om-Nom-Trix is a good as his." Kaminari said nervously.
"OMNITRIX, Kaminari. But you aren't wrong. We may not know what this Omnitrix is, but we DO know this... Life form should NEVER have it." Iida said.
"Prepare to board! I want the Omnitrix, now!" Vilgax ordered.
The ship getting chased primed a laser blast and fired, directly hitting Vilgax's control room, blasting him across. But immediately after the warship retaliated, blasting the ship to pieces.
"Hell yeah! Take that, hentai face!" Bakugo snapped with a manic grin on his face.
Uraraka blushed at her boyfriend's comment, but shook it off. "So, he should be finished, right? There's no more problem?" She asked hopefully.
"Unfortunately, I doubt it, Young Uraraka. Even our human villains are stubbornly difficult to get rid of. And we have no idea what the capabilities of this alien despot are." All Might told her.
"Besides, we probably wouldn't be watching the story if the big bad was already taken care of." Present Mic pointed out.
"Or he has a second-in-command to take over for him. Still, it's a shame that the smaller ship was still destroyed after dealing with the villain." Midoriya said sadly.
However, out of those pieces of the smaller ship, a large probe ejected a much smaller pod ejected down into Earth's atmosphere.
"Oh, good! At least one of the crew escaped!" Koda said happily.
"Once again, doubtful, kids. That pod looks much too small to house a life form." Midnight pointed out.
"But these are aliens, no? Perhaps they are a small species, like Monsieur Mineta. Or perhaps even smaller." Aoyama theorized.
"I suppose it could be possible, but still unlikely. A species that small wouldn't have such a large ship." Tokoyami said.
"Yeah. It's probably that Omnitrix thing." Dark Shadow guessed.
"Am I the only one who thought that probe looked like a butt plug?" Mineta asked, getting YET ANOTHER tongue slap from Asui.
Ben and Gwen were sitting at opposite ends of their campsite. Ben was playing his handheld video game while Gwen was typing away at her laptop.
"Oh, come oh, guys! You're out camping! You should be enjoying nature! Hiking! Swimming! Bird watching! Manly things like that!" Kirishima told them
"I didn't know bird watching was manly." Ashido giggled.
"To be fair, it is night time. Not ideal for any of the activities you mentioned." Todoroki said.
Max then walked out with a bag of marshmallows. "Who wants to roast marshmallows?" He offered, but the two gave no response, continuing their own activities. "Okay, um… How 'bout we tell scary stories?" He tried again.
"I wouldn't mind roasting marshmallows and making s'mores." Sato admitted.
"And telling scary stories sounds awesome! Especially when it gets the girls to cuddle up to us~" Kaminari said.
"Yeah, no one's doing that." Hagakure told him, causing him to facevault.
"Scarier than having to spend a summer with your freak of a cousin?" Ben asked, laughing to himself.
"I'd like to, Grandpa, but I'm busy doing a web search on cures for 'extreme doofus-ness'. Nothing yet, Ben, but let's not give up hope!" She teased her cousin.
"I'm honestly just surprised Gwen's laptop is getting service this far out." Yaoyorozu said.
"Maybe it has something to do with the three different satellites on the RV." Asui pointed out.
"That DOES seems strange, now that you mention it. For an old, run-down vehicle, it seems unnecessary to have so many signal receiving devices. Even in our modern day and age, it's not the end of the world if you can't reach someone AT ALL TIMES. Unless you're a top hero or working for the government." The rich girl noted.
"Aww, come on you two. We're all in this together." Their grandfather tried to reason with them.
"You can mope around like this all summer, or we can have some fun. Now whadd'ya say?" Max offered one last time.
"I vote for moping." Gwen huffed.
"I'm gonna take a walk. Smell ya around, Gwen." Ben taunted the girl, walking into the woods.
"What?! No, don't do that!" All the girls cried out.
"That is incredibly dangerous! You're in unfamiliar territory, so you could get lost! Plus, it's late at night, so your vision is compromised! You could easily trip and fall over a rock or root, fall and break something! Or worse, dangerous wild animals like wolves or bears might come upon you! Not to mention, you never know who else might be out in those woods! You might run into a criminal who might kidnap you! Or worse!" Iida exclaimed, chopping his arms so fast, they looked like solid walls of flesh.
"Why the heck isn't his grandpa stopping him?!" Uraraka cried out.
"He's likely trying to be understanding and give his grandson some space. Although, I do have to agree, letting a TEN-YEAR-OLD run around the forest, at night, is PRETTY irresponsible." Midnight agreed.
"I, uh, think they're starting to grow on each other." Max said.
"And I think you're delusional." All the adults said.
Ben grumbled as he walked through the woods with his hands in his pockets. "Aw, man. This is gonna be the worst vacation ever. I might as well have gone to summer school." He complained.
"At least in Summer school, you'd be safe! Who knows what could happen to you out there?!" Iida snapped, still chopping his arms.
"Will you shut it, already, four eyes?! Obviously, the kid's fine!" Bakugo snapped.
"How can you be so sure, Bakubro?" Kirishima asked.
"Because I doubt those two would bring us here to watch some runt get bullied and bite it." Bakugo reasoned.
"That... actually makes sense. We are supposedly here to learn from Ben's exploits. Other than his... questionable choice to stand up to those bullies, there wouldn't be much to learn from if he were to meet an early end now." Yaoyorozu admitted.
But then, something up in the sky caught his attention. A meteor shooting across the horizon. "Whoa! A shooting star!" He exclaimed in amazement.
"Ooh! Do we still get to wish on it even if it's from another universe?!" Kaminari asked.
"Doubt it." Sato said.
However, the "shooting star" instantly changed course, aiming straight for Ben, causing the boy to gasp in horror.
"WHAT?! Why on Earth would a meteor change course like that?!" All Might asked in horror.
"They don't. Which means that's not a meteor." Aizawa said in concern.
"BEN, RUN!" All the students cried out.
Ben started running away. The meteor crashed behind him, the shockwave launching Ben and sending smoke and debris in the air.
"Thank goodness." The students said once again.
As it cleared, Ben looked on at it, getting to his feet for a closer look. "Looks like a - satellite or something." He observed.
"It's the pod! That means it's got the Omnitrix in it!" Midoriya exclaimed.
"I mean, we DID see it being launched down to Earth, so that makes sense. But why would it suddenly make a HUGE turn towards Ben?" Asui asked.
No one could give an answer for that, though. "Who knows? But more importantly, we're FINALLY about to see what the Omnitrix is." Ojiro said.
The meteor's white-hot light faded. Ben leaned in at the edge of the crater, but the ground he was standing on crumbled beneath him, sending him sliding down. He got up and looked ahead, now having a full view of the pod. It opened itself before him and a green light in the shape of an hourglass shines from it. "...A watch?" Ben questioned as light extends from the hourglass, revealing it was attached to a cylindrical watch-like device. The Omnitrix.
"Why is he getting closer to the thing that almost splattered him!?" Sato asked incredulously.
"Well, he is a child. They're naturally curious and inquisitive." Yaoyorozu admitted.
Then, many were dumbfounded in disbelief at what they saw inside the pod. "A FUCKING WATCH?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! HENTAI FACE WENT TO WAR AND GOT BLOWN UP FOR A WATCH?!" Bakugo ranted.
"Don't be fooled by unassuming appearances, young listener! Haven't you ever seen spy movies? A watch is almost ALWAYS the most versatile and deadly weapon in the spy's arsenal!" Present Mic declared.
"Not to mention it's alien technology. We've already seen the technology they have already is highly advanced, so this Omnitrix must be even more advanced." Midnight reasoned.
"What's a watch doing in outer space?" Ben questioned. However, the boy soon smiled to himself, stepping closer to the pod, outstretching his arm to grab it.
"What on Earth do you think you're doing, child!? Ignoring the obvious fact that isn't your property to simply take, there's a who SLEW of reasons you shouldn't touch that! A: You have no idea what it is or does! B: It could be contaminated with bacteria from space, or worse, cosmic radiation! C: assuming they somehow survived, the owner of the device will no doubt want it back!" Iida snapped while chopping his arms frantically.
"And don't forget, hent-" Uraraka began, almost repeating her boyfriend's nickname for the creature, before she managed to catch herself. "-I mean that evil squid guy wants it. And if he blew up a ship to take it, he's obviously not afraid to kill for it." She added.
"Not to mention, if this thing IS some kind of weapon, the absolute LAST person I'd want to have it is a reckless ten-year-old." Aizawa groaned.
As he did, the Omnitrix leapt from the pod and onto his wrist, latching itself to Ben.
"What the?!" All the teens exclaimed again.
"I-It just jumped onto his arm! B-but how?! It's a watch! Not a living creature!" Sero cried out in fear.
"It's alien technology! Who knows what it can and can't do?!" Ashido exclaimed, somehow amazed, terrified and greatly concerned for the boy.
"Ahh! Get off me! Get off, get off!" Ben cried out, frantically shaking his arm to fling it off, but to no avail. He then tried ripping it off his wrist, to the point of losing balance and falling over.
"It's clamped on! It's gonna squeeze his wrist until his hand falls off and he bleeds out!" Mineta exclaimed in fear.
"L-let's not be too hasty. We don't know what it's doing, so we shouldn't assume the worst." Koda said, but sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than anything.
But this did seem to calm down some others as well. "Well, he doesn't seem to be in pain, so Monsieur Mineta's theory is unlikely, at least." Aoyama agreed.
"Still, by the fact it's not even moving in the slightest when he shook his arm like that means that it HAS to be latched on skin tight." Todoroki noted in concern.
He quickly climbed out of the crater and started running. "Grandpa!" He cried out for his guardian.
"Yeah, that's probably the best idea he could have." Shoji said.
"Hope gramps has got some heavy-duty tools in that camper of his." Hagakure said worriedly, all while no one noticed the two hosts giggling to themselves.
Back at the trio's campsite, Max began to grow concerned. "Hm. Ben's been gone a while." He realized, before shrugging. "Well, I guess he can't get into too much trouble out here." He dismissed.
"Yeeaahh, about that..." Kirishima said nervously.
"There are all manner of trouble he could get into in the woods! Even without the alien device nearly flattening him and then attaching to his wrists!" Iida scolded the elderly man, chopping once again.
"We get it, Iida! We already went over this. Besides, they can't hear us, anyway." Jiro told him.
"Unless he wound up bear food." Gwen suggested. Max turned to her with a cross look. "Hey I can dream, can't I?" She said.
Everyone's jaws dropped at the girl's comments. "What the hell!? I know boys and girls don't get along at that age, but still! They're family! They should at least care A LITTLE BIT for each other!" Sato exclaimed.
"Seriously, did he kill her goldfish or something?! Why is the beef so strong?!" Kaminari asked in shock.
"Well, despite being cousins, so they aren't twins, Ben and Gwen were born on the same day in December. And their family is decently tight-knit, so if there's a big family event, like a birthday party, the whole family will be there. So, if one of them has a birthday party, that means the other one's family will be in attendance as well, so they don't get a party of their own." Anemone explained.
"I mean, the other one will get another party, too, but it will be like a day or even a week later, not on their birthday, so it's not as special." Maverick added.
"Couldn't they simply do a joint party?" Todoroki asked.
The two hosts looked at each other for a moment... before bursting out in laughter [1]. They then stopped when they saw everyone was looking at them, deadpanned, but still expecting an answer. "Oh, you were serious... Let me laugh even harder." Maverick said, before falling on the floor, roaring in laughter.
Anemone rolled her eyes at this, but slithered forward a bit to answer. "Well, Ben's idea of fun is going to the arcade, or laser tag, very exciting and active things. Gwen's idea of fun is going to the museum, or slam poetry, much calmer, more intellectual and expressive things. So, you can see how those two things don't mix well." The snake woman explained.
"Jeez, are we sure Gwen is really ten and doesn't just have a disease like that girl in Orphan?" Kaminari asked, holding up a DVD case for a horror movie with a SEEMINGLY little girl on the front. "What kind of kid would enjoy ANY of that?" He asked, tossing the DVD over his shoulder.
"Well, I for one applaud Gwen's efforts to expand her mind and viewpoint. There is nothing wrong with enjoying intellectual things in your own time as opposed to being made to in school. Plus, in that time, you're free to explore your own interests as opposed to a school's syllabus." Yaoyorozu said.
"Well, this is America back in 2005, when boys were still encouraged to be outdoorsy and tough and plays sports and never show emotions, you know? If you wanted to read books or cook and clean with your mom, you were either a nerd or a sissy. It was prime time for toxic masculinity." Maverick explained.
"That sort of thinking is harmful to a child's psyche and society as a whole!" Iida declared, chopping his arms.
"Hence, TOXIC masculinity. Thankfully, things have changed and now we have beacons of POSITIVE masculinity, like Kirishima" Anemone said, causing the Hardening Quirk-User to beam.
Ben tried to pry the Omnitrix apart from his wrist with a stick, but the stick broke, angering him.
"The stick couldn't get under the device. That's one more example of how tight it is to his skin. But, again, the fact it didn't even jostle in the slightest seems more than just being tight. More like it's actually GLUED in place to his skin." Midoriya noted.
"So, what does that mean for him?" Ashido asked.
"I hope I'm wrong, but if what Izuku said is right... it could actually mean it's completely fixed to his skin and CAN'T be taken off." Asui said worriedly
He fell to his knees in defeat, but then started fumbling with the device.
Aizawa sighed. "Great. Exactly why a CHILD shouldn't have this thing. 'I can't get it off, so I might as well play with it'." The teacher groaned.
"I mean, maybe there's a button to get it off his arm?" Koda suggested.
"Maybe, but Mr. Aizawa's still not wrong. He shouldn't touch it without knowing what he's doing." Tokoyami agreed with his teacher.
"Yeah. They're could be a self-destruct button or something!" Dark Shadow exclaimed.
"They're gonna freak when they find out." Maverick whispered to Anemone, who nodded.
He accidentally hit a button on it and its faceplate sprang up. "Whoa." He exclaimed, glancing around the woods for anyone who might disturb him, before returning his focus to the "watch". The faceplate's hourglass morphs into a diamond encasing a black silhouette.
"What is that? Some kind of alien figure?" Shoji asked.
"So, what is it gonna do? Call the alien? Or maybe it has information on that alien?" Ashido guessed.
"Yeah, an evil alien warlord was after a watch phone or alien encyclopedia. That makes sense." Bakugo scoffed.
"I mean, come on, Bakubro, that's not a bad idea!" Kirishima defended his girlfriend's guess. "I mean, what else would it do?" He questioned.
"Cool!" Ben exclaimed in excitement as he looked down at the faceplate and his eyebrows raise before pressing it back down. Ben suddenly found himself in a green and black void as crimson rocks spreading across his skin, transforming him into something else.
"Whoa! What's going on?! It took him to some weird void or something!" Jiro asked worriedly.
"And look at that formation spreading across his skin! Is it infecting him with some alien disease?!" Yaoyorozu asked, equally concerned, pulling Jiro closer to her, greatly flustering the smaller girl in the process.
He emerged from the void, now a burning rock monster. "Ahh!" He cried out, now in a much deeper and gruffer voice than his normal one.
"Fire..." Todoroki said with a slight growl. Sure, he had accepted the other half of his power, but he still looked at flames with disdain as they often reminded him of his father.
"Oh, my god! It's burning him alive!" Uraraka cried out.
"No, I don't think it is. he would be getting charred and burning away, but he's not. It changed his form altogether, into something completely different. The watch... triggered a transformation somehow." All Might said in shock and awe.
Ben was screaming as he ran through the forest. "Aaah! I'm on fire! I'm on fire!" The boy turned fire monster cried out as he ran around in a panic. However, he began to calm down once he realized something. "Hey... I'm on fire -and, I'm okay..." He discovered something, before smirking. "Check it out. I'm totally hot!" He declared excitedly, before snickering at his own joke.
The group was slowly calming down upon realizing Ben was okay. "Well, at least he's alright." Asui sighed in relief.
"Not sure I'd qualify this as alright, but yeah, at least he's not immediately dying or burning alive." Shoji agreed.
"So the watch turns you into an alien? That's actually AWESOME!" Ashido cheered.
"But why would you want to turn into aliens if you're ALREADY an alien?" Sato asked.
"What if it turns you into a better alien than the one you are now?" Minetta offered.
"I'd rather be a living fireball than a hentai faced freak." Bakugo admitted.
"But now the only concern is... Can he change back?" Midnight wondered in concern.
Ben turned to see a tree behind him that he could practice his new abilities on. "Oh yeah, uh-huh. Here goes!" He exclaimed, slinging his wrist and shooting a fireball out of his finger, blowing a branch off the tree entirely.
"Nevermind, I was wrong. There are other concerns." Midnight said, looking worried along with the other teachers and more level-headed students.
"What does he think he's doing!?" Iida demanded, chopping away as always. But before he could complain, the more excitable students made their thoughts known.
"He can shoot fire! Awesome! He's like you, Todoroki!" Hagakure exclaimed in amazement.
"I mean, he's made of fire, so it'd be weird if he couldn't- not to mention lame- but that's still sweet!" Sero said in awe.
"And that was just his finger! Imagine if he used his whole hand! Or even both!" Kaminari exclaimed.
"You idiots! Did you forget he's in the middle of a forest!? Last I checked, trees and fire is a bad combo!" Bakugo snapped at them.
That quickly put things into perspective for those students, everyone now equally concern with the actions of the boy-turned alien. "Oh, no... BEN STOP!" The rest of the students all shouted together.
"That's what I'm talking about." He said proudly, before bringing his hands together, creating a much larger fireball between them. "Liking it!" He declared as he slung the fireball, unexpectedly blasting through three trees instead of one, causing a fog of smoke around him.
"Oh, great! Well, you got your answer, Kaminari! Happy now?!" Jiro snapped.
"It's not like I TOLD him to blast the trees!" The electric Quirk-User cried out.
"Not the forest! So many animals live in there!" Koda shrieked, fearful for all the critters that could lose their homes, or even their lives.
Ben's smile then dropped as he saw the fire created by him spreading to other trees. "Wait! Stop!" He cried out, before looking at the spreading destruction he caused. "Uh-oh." He said worriedly. He then quickly ran to the fire and tried stomping out a flame with his fiery feet, only for it to erupt into a larger one. "Oh man, I am gonna get so busted for this." He said nervously.
"THAT'S your big concern!?" The entire audience screamed.
"Once again, exactly why a child shouldn't have this power. And why we have Quirk restriction laws." Aizawa said.
"But even then, kids in our world get their Quirks at four, so by now, they'd have had six years to understand their Quirks and why they might be dangerous. Ben just gained the power to create fire. So, it's somewhat understandable he'd just think of the cool things he could do with it and not the consequences." Present Mic explained in a more serious manner than his usual jovial, excited one.
Midoriya said nothing, but in the back of his mind, he couldn't help but agree. After he'd gotten One For All from All Might, his first thought was of being able to do all the things All Might could as a hero and, after the initial shock of encountering that One-Pointer and being saved by Aoyama, he had fully planned to go wild on any other robots he saw, he just had the unfortunate luck of not finding any robots that weren't already being demolished... until the Zero-Pointer showed up, that is.
Max was sitting by a campfire outside the Rust Bucket as Gwen walked out. "What's that?" She asked, seeing the smoke from Ben's escapades in the distance.
"You're cousin lighting the forest on fire." Asui said bluntly as ever.
"I always thought those leashes made for children was mean... but I'm starting to see the need for them." Sero admitted.
"Looks like the start of a forest fire. We better let the Rangers' Station know." Max said, getting to his feet. "Probably some darn fool camper out there, messing around with something he shouldn't." He said, then paused, before he and Gwen came to a realization. "Ben!" He exclaimed.
"You think they said that because they realized Ben was out there, or because they thought Ben was the cause?" Uraraka asked.
"Either way, they were correct." Todoroki said.
He then quickly opened a camping-kit and grabbed two fire-extinguishers."Better take this!" He said, passing one to Gwen, before the two ran into the forest towards the smoke overhead.
"What?! He's letting her come as well! This man is becoming more and more irresponsible by the minute!" Iida snapped, chopping his arms.
"To be fair, what would happen if he left her there alone and the fire spread to their campsite? She likely wouldn't have seen where he got the other fire extinguisher from, so she'd be in a much worse position." Ojiro pointed out.
"Plus, it is the best way for them to cover more ground to find Young Ben. It's not the perfect solution, but in a world without heroes, it's the best one they've got." All Might said.
Ben was continuing trying to put out the fire, unsuccessfully. "This would be so cool, if it weren't so- not cool!" He said worriedly.
"I believe the old adage goes 'play with fire and you will get burned'." Yaoyorozu said.
Gwen made her way through the forest, putting out fires by spraying the extinguisher. And eventually, although she didn't notice, she found her way to the source of the problem, spraying the fire creature's back with the extinguisher, causing him to turn around to look at her. To which, she promptly screamed.
"Yeah, not gonna lie, in a world without Quirks, so there aren't guys like Endeavor running around on fire, I'd do the same thing." Hagakure admitted.
"I'd think it was cool and ask if he was an alien, then ask tons of questions about aliens... if the forest wasn't on fire at the moment." Ashido said.
"Look, I know I look weird, but there's no reason to be scared-" He tried to reason with his cousin... only to be clobbered 'round the head with the extinguisher, knocking him down.
"Whoa! Gwen's got some moves! She may be a girl, but she sure is manly!" Kirishima cheered.
"I mean, if you aren't expecting it, I'm pretty sure a hit to the head from a heavy, metal fire extinguisher would do that to anyone." Sato said.
When he tried to get up, Gwen sprayed him, knocking out the flames surrounding his rock-like head for a brief moment. "Hey!" He snapped, coughing from the chemicals of the spray.
"So, this alien is weak to substances that extinguish flames. Makes enough sense. Then it would also make sense for them to be weak to water, but they could also have a significant vulnerability to loose dirt, sand and mud that could smother their fire..." Midoriya said, having written down a page in the book for the alien creature, jotting down the potential weaknesses and drawbacks of this alien.
"Dammit, Deku! Nerd out later! Watch the damn footage now!" Bakugo snapped.
"I don't know what you are- but you'll stay down there if you know what's good for you!" She ordered.
Ben stayed down, but gestured to Gwen's shoe, setting a small flame on it. "Ow!" She cried out, hopping on one foot until she extinguished the small flame, while Ben chuckled at the situation.
"What on Earth is he thinking!? He is LITERALLY setting his cousin on fire! No matter how deep-seeded their rivalry, there is no reason to bring harm to a family member!" Iida snapped, chopping away once again.
"Don't your arms ever get tired?" Maverick asked, though received no answer.
"Well, she was attacking him and is now threatening him with chemicals that are clearly harmful to him. It can be seen as self-defense... even if that is a bit extreme." Shoji pointed out.
"I warned you!" Gwen snapped, raising the extinguisher above her head.
"Don't even think about it, freak!" Ben warned.
Gwen's eyes widen as the insult sounded familiar enough for her to realize who this really was. "...Ben? Is that you? What happened?" She asked in disbelief.
"Not sure if that's funny or insane for THAT to be how she recognizes him." Uraraka said.
"At this point, let's be thankful she DID recognize him instead of them killing each other." Asui told her.
"Well, when I was walking, this meteor fell from the sky and almost smudged me, except that wasn't a meteor or a satellite, but this cool watch thing that jumped up onto my wrist and when I tried to get it off, I suddenly was on fire, only it didn't hurt when I was accidentally starting this mega forest fire." He explained nervously.
"Well... That's one hell of a recap." Mineta said.
"I think you forgot to mention that you were playing with it and pressed a bunch of buttons to be set on fire." Kaminari said.
"And you were shooting off fireballs that caused the forest fire." Kirishima added.
Max then came running up. "Gwen, are you alri-" He began, before seeing Ben's new fiery figure. "What in blazes?" He asked in shock.
"Yeah, your grandson's permanently on fire now. Have fun with that." Jiro said.
"I hope he's in decent health, so a shock like this won't cause him a heart attack." Yaoyorozu said worriedly.
"That is pretty much the only thing that could make this situation worse." Koda admitted.
"Hey, Grandpa, guess who?" Gwen said nervously.
"It's me, Grandpa!" Ben said, waving.
"Surprise!" Aoyama declared.
"Worst surprise since they told me I was moving to a retirement home!" Sero said in an old man voice.
Max was understandably shocked at this. "Ben? What happened to you?" He asked.
"Well, when I was walking, this meteor…" Ben began to repeat the story.
"Oh, not again!" The students complained.
"Focus on the danger in front of you!" The teachers shouted.
Thankfully, Gwen cut off her cousin. "Erm, excuse me? Major forest fire burning out of control, remember?" She reminded them.
"THANK YOU!" The entire audience cried out.
"What do we do?" Ben asked.
Max thought for a minute, before an idea came to him. "Backfire. Start a new fire and let it burn into the old fire. They'll snuff each other out. Think you can do it, Ben?" He asked his grandson.
"Not a bad idea old man." Aizawa praised.
"Wait, that can actually work? Fire really beats fire? Pokemon lied to me!" Ashido complained.
"Yes, Young Ashido. It's actually commonly used to PREVENT forest fires, controlled burns preventing fires from raging out of control." All Might informed the students.
"Shooting flames? I can definitely do." Ben declared, before all three ran out of the woods. Ben then found a group of trees some distance away, then shot them with a BEAM of fire, causing a new blaze.
"Whoa! That's so awesome!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"Not quite as dazzling as my own laser, but still, well done." Aoyama praised.
"Yeah, that does look more like a pure beam of heat, rather than a stream of fire." Midoriya noted.
"Well, these are aliens we're talking about. Who knows what they're capable of?" Uraraka said.
Shortly after this, a Ranger came across the burnt out forest.
"Thank goodness. Some animals probably lost their home, but the forest as a whole is still safe." Koda sighed in relief.
"Not bad, Ben! I mean, it's bad you CAUSED the problem, but you also SOLVED it, so way to go!" Hagakure cheered.
"Just so you kids know, that won't fly for any of you if you fix a problem, but were the one to cause it in the first place." Aizawa warned them.
A/N: So, that was the first official chapter and I hope you all enjoyed it! Unfortunately, I once again wound up having to split it into two chapters. There was a lot of things the group wound up having to discuss. However, I'll do my best to keep future episodes to a singular chapter... Wish me luck on that. BUT! I'm also curious, who do you think would be the favorite alien hero of each audience member, students and Pro Heroes and why? And let's stick to the ORIGINAL SERIES for this question so you guys aren't looking through Ben's 70+ known aliens to pick the option that best fits the characters. Here's my opinion.
Aoyama - Upgrade (the laser eye)
Ashido - Stinkfly (shoots out gooey stuff like her) or Upchuck (his projectiles are acidic)
Asui - Ripjaws (for being aquatic) or Greymatter (for being amphibian-like)
Iida - XLR8 (fast, just like him and will aspire to be as fast as XLR8... mostly to prove he's a better speedster than the troublemaking Ben)
Uraraka - Four Arms (super strong and does giant punches!)
Ojiro - Four Arms (the best fighter of the OG aliens)
Kaminari - Frankenstrike (electricity generation just like him)
Kirishima - Diamondhead (basically an upgraded version of himself)
Koda - Wildmutt (it's the closest one to an actual animal)
Sato - Upchuck (gets stronger by eating, just like him)
Shoji - Four Arms (is the closest alien to being like him)
Jiro - Blitzerwolf (sonic powers just like her, plus werewolves are punk rock)
Sero - Snare-oh (again, basically him, but better)
Tokoyami - Ghostfreak (closest to Dark Shadow) (Though, this will PROBABLY change after Ghostfreak becomes a villain. I don't know who his favorite would be after that.)
Todoroki - Heatblast (has hot and cold powers like him, even if the cold was a one-off deal)
Hagakure - Grey Matter (he's small, so he's good for stealth, like her)
Bakugo - Wildvine (for his back explosives)
Midoriya - Four Arms (reminds him of All Might back in his hero days)
Mineta - Stinkfly (his goo is sticky like his grape spheres... also, because he could cover girls is gooey stuff)
Yaoyorozu - Grey Matter (for his intelligence)
All Might - Four Arms (reminds him of himself back in his hero days)
Present Mic - Blitzerwolf (sonic screams like him)
Aizawa - Snare-oh (wraps people up just like him)
Midnight - Wildmutt (because he looks like a dog, maybe she could tame him)
