A/N Hi all and Welcome to the next chapter of Pokemon Omega Loud. In this chapter May and Lana will train to get May ready for her upcoming contest, until a new rival makes an appearance. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing it.

The following morning finds our heroes back on Route 116 for more training. While Lincoln focused on getting his team ready for his rematch with Roxanne, Lana and May were in another part of the Route trying out different routines for May's contest the following day.

Currently, the two girls were trying their best to get Skitty to focus on training but suffice to say…Skitty had a bit of an attention problem. The Kitten Pokemon was eager to follow whatever directions May came up with but the moment anything else happened, Skitty would immediately focus on that instead.

Finally, after close to an hour of trying both girls collapsed on a nearby log for a break. As they caught their breath, Skitty was preoccupied with chasing a random insect.

"I never thought I'd be getting this worked up by training a Pokemon," said May.

"Skitty's like Lana after too much sugar," rasped Lana.

"How'd you deal with her when she was like that," asked May. "I can't say that it had to be easy."

"Honestly," Lana replied, "I just waited until she tired herself out, but I doubt that will work with Skitty."

"If I were you I'd ditch that Skitty." came a voice from nearby, "A Pokemon that doesn't listen to commands isn't worth much."

May and Lana turned towards the voice to see a boy about May's age with green hair, wearing a purple short sleeved button up shirt over a black sweater with light greenish blue trousers. He had a smug look on his face as he looked May up and down, before continuing.

"I overheard you saying you were going to compete in the Rustboro Pokemon Contest, but if this is how you train your Pokemon you might as well quit now and save yourself from the embarrassment."

May growled in anger while Lana shot the boy a dirty look.

"Well who asked you, you big jerk!" growled May.

The boy gave a smug grin at the girls before walking closer until he was standing right in front of them.

"My name's Drew," he said, pulling a rose from somewhere on his person, "And I'm a Pokemon Coordinator. I've already won two Ribbons."

He then looked May directly in the eyes as he continued.

"So how many Ribbons have you won?"

May stood up in irritation as she marched up to the boy and glared at him.

"Not that it's any of your business but I haven't won any ribbons yet." she yelled.

Drew began laughing in a condescending manner, as he sniffed his rose.

"I knew you were an amateur just by looking at you. Makes sense why you're having so much trouble training a simple Skitty."

Lana stood up at that moment and stomped over to Drew before giving him a swift kick in the shin. As the boy gripped his injured leg, hopping up and down and swearing profusely, Lana kicked his other shin causing him to fall on his rear.

"Lay off May you jerk!" yelled Lana. "Just because you've already got some ribbons doesn't mean you can bully others! I bet May's a much better trainer than you could ever be!"

"Shut it you brat!" Drew growled. He picked himself off the ground before grabbing a Pokeball from his belt before stalking off a good distance away from the girls.

"All right. If you are so confident your friend here is a better trainer then how about a battle?" he sneered.

"Fine," said May. "What are the rules?"

"Two Pokemon each! Whoever beats both of the other trainers Pokemon wins." said Drew before throwing out his Pokeball releasing a small green plant Pokemon, in a shower of rose petals. It looked like it was wearing a dress made from leaves, and its right hand was a red rose while its left was a blue rose. Finally it had three sharp looking thorns on its head resembling a crown.

May immediately took out her Pokedex and gave the Pokemon a quick scan.

Roselia, the Thorn Pokemon, Female. Roselia shoots sharp thorns as projectiles at any opponent that tries to steal the flowers on its arms. The aroma of this Pokémon brings serenity to living things.

May stifled her squeal of adoration for the cute Pokemon, not wanting to give Drew the satisfaction of seeing he had gotten her approval. May took out one of her own Pokeballs releasing her Mudkip.

"Tch, you don't know much about Pokemon types do you?" said Drew. "Water types are weak against Grass types."

"I know that!" yelled May, "But types aren't the only thing that determine a Pokemon Battle!"

"Yeah!" Lana yelled from the sidelines, "Teach that jerk a lesson, May!"

"Roselia! Shut them up with Leech Seed!" cried Drew.

Roselia held her arms out as a series of small plant seeds shot out from the roses she had for hands. As she swept her arms out in a wide arc, the seeds began to cover the field, Mudkip included. Nothing happened with the seeds that hit the field but the ones that hit Mudkip immediately sprouted, enveloping the Mud Fish Pokemon in small, yet strong vines.

Immediately, Mudkip began to feel sluggish as the vines began to siphon away his energy causing him to become weaker by the second. May quickly called out for Mudkip to use supersonic upon which Mudkip let out a shrill ear piercing shriek causing Roselia to become confused.

"A little confusion won't stop us!" yelled Drew, "Use Mega Drain!"

Roselia leapt forward swinging its roses as a green light surrounded Mudkip before being sucked into Roselia's rose-hands. Mudkip staggered as even more energy left his body from both the Mega Drain and then a second later from the Leech Seed.

"Mudkip! Hit it with a Rock Smash!" cried May. Mudkip ran forward his movement unencumbered by the constricting vines, and slammed his head into Roselia's. Drew grew surprised to see Roselia collapse after the attack. It looked like May's Mudkip was stronger than he thought.

"Use Magical Leaf!" Drew yelled. Roselia got to her feet and released a shower of green-glowing leaves that flew towards Mudkip.

"Use Protect!" cried May. Mudkip stood his ground as a shining barrier blossomed in front of him. The shower of leaves hit the barrier, bouncing off and fading away into nothing.

Drew grinned and, before May could react, yelled for Roselia to use another Mega Drain.

Once again Mudkip was enveloped in a green light that siphoned away his energy. Unfortunately it was too much for the little water type as he soon collapsed unable to continue battling while his stolen energy was used to heal Roselia.

"Thank you Mudkip, you were great." said May after she had recalled Mudkip to his Pokeball. Looking at Drew, May was annoyed to see that he had once again adopted a smug look at his little victory.

"I have to admit, May. You are better than I thought you were." he sneered. "But you're still just an amateur."

"We'll see." growled May. She then pulled out her second Pokeball, tossing it and releasing her Silcoon.

"A Silcoon?" said Drew. "You're just trying to lose now. Roselia use Poison Sting!"

Roselia swept her arms forward launching a flurry of glowing purple needles at the Cocoon Pokemon. May quickly called out for Silcoon to use Harden causing most of the needles to bounce off its hardened shell.

"Use String Shot!" cried May, "Full Power!"

Silcoon immediately began spitting out a continuous stream of sticky webbing at Roselia causing it to become stuck to the ground it was standing on. As Roselia struggled to break free, Silcoon continued to cover the Thorn Pokemon in more thread before suddenly becoming engulfed in a bright light, cutting off the String Shot attack.

Lana gasped as the battle came to halt with both May and Drew standing in stunned silence.

"Silcoons evolving!" Lana gasped as a grin spread across her face.

The light surrounding Silcoon grew in intensity before disappearing in a flash of light revealing a butterfly-like Pokemon with a long straw-like mouth and gorgeous multi-colored wings. While everyone took in the new Pokemons appearance, May lifted her Pokedex and quickly scanned her former Silcoon.

Beautifly, the Butterfly Pokemon, Female. Beautifly's favorite food is the sweet pollen of flowers. If you want to see this Pokémon, just leave a potted flower by an open window. Beautifly is sure to come looking for pollen.

May's face broke into a happy smile, glad to see her new Pokemon. After double checking Beautifly's stats and moves she got a look of determination before turning back to the battle at hand.

"Beautifly! Use your new Gust attack!" she cried.

Beautifly immediately began flapping its wings, causing a massive gust of wind to rocket towards Roselia.

"Dodge it!" cried Drew

Unfortunately, due to the sticky String Shot from earlier, Roselia was unable to move away in time and was blown backwards by the Gust attack colliding with a nearby tree. When the dust cleared it was clear to everyone that Roselia was unable to continue to battle. Drew scoffed in disgust, recalling his Pokemon before selecting another Pokeball.

"Masquerain! Let's go!" he yelled as he sent out a white bug Pokemon with four triangular wings on its body and two larger wings on the sides of its head that looked like large menacing eyes

Before May could scan the new Pokemon, Drew called out for it to attack.

"Use Water Gun! Then hit it with Quick Attack."

As soon as the attack was called, a stream of pressurized water blasted Beautifly in the face and before the butterfly Pokemon could react, Masquerain vanished from sight before colliding with the newly evolved Pokemon.

"Keep hitting it with Quick Attack!" yelled Drew.

Soon Beautifly was struck over and over again by the fast moving Pokemon. Unable to mount a counter attack, May called out for Beautifly to use Harden but it was too late as with one final hit, the butterfly Pokemon was knocked unconscious.

May scowled as she and Drew withdrew their Pokemon. Lana walked up to the older girl's side as Drew sauntered up to the pair, a smug grin on his face.

"I'll admit. You had me worried for a bit there but it's clear that you're still leagues away from being a threat to me."

As he came up beside May he gave her a sidelong glance before continuing.

"You're lucky I'm not competing in the Rustboro contest," he drawled. "Who knows? Maybe you'll win."

With that, the green haired boy disappeared into the nearby woods.

May and Lana stood silent for a moment, before Lana asked if she was okay.

"I'm fine Lana," May replied. "This is just more motivation to get my routine nailed down for tomorrow."

As the two girls spoke, they noticed Lincoln coming down the path towards them. As they turned to greet their white-haired companion, they were stunned to notice a new Pokemon walking next to the boy. It was an orange bird-like Pokemon with a yellow upper body and an orange lower body. Its legs were bare like a chickens and its long arms were tipped with three large claws at the end. On the top of its head were three long orange feathers and there was a fierce look on its face.

Both Lincoln and the new Pokemon looked like they had been wrung through the wringer with loads of dirt and grime covering their bodies. Lincoln also looked like he had been burned a bit as his clothes and hair were slightly singed.

When he finally made it to his companions, Lincoln grew a massive grin on his face as he greeted his friends.

"Did you catch a new Pokemon, bro?" asked Lana.

Lincoln grinned again as he looked at the Pokemon at his side.

"Nope. This isn't a new Pokemon." he said, "Allow me to re-introduce you to Lynn the Combusken!"

With that Lynn gave a massive crow of happiness as it let loose a stream of burning flames.

Lana and May stood in stunned silence before both of them shouted out.

"WHAT!?"

Meanwhile in Royal Woods, Bounsweet was tied to a chair in Lola and Lana's room as Lola paced back and forth in front of her. She had borrowed Lori's drill sergeant outfit and was currently glaring at her new pupil.

"Okay Bounsweet, you may think that you're the queen bee around her but you haven't learned exactly who you are dealing with."

"In this house, in this family, I AM the Queen." said Lola as she got closer to the Fruit Pokemon. Bounsweet was trying it's best to appear unbothered by the pink clad girl but it was clear that it was getting nervous as a sweet smelling sweat began to slide down it's face.

"I am, however, a merciful Queen." Lola continued, "As long as you remember one simple rule."

Lola quickly closed the distance between herself and the Bounsweet, stopping mere inches from the Pokemon's face, a crazed almost manic grin on the girl's face causing the Pokemon to pale considerably as it started screaming.

"NEVER, make Lola MAD!"
