A/N Hey all and welcome to the newest chapter of Pokemon Omega Loud. In this chapter Lincoln and crew make their way to Mr. Briney's cottage by the sea but have a run in with a sinister figure. This episode is VERY loosely based on the episode On a Wingull and Prayer, with someone threatening Mr. Briney. (At this point I feel like I'm punishing the old man for no reason.)

As always I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed writing it.

After concluding their meeting with President Stone, Lincoln and Co. were given a small tour of the Devon Corporation building. To say they were impressed is an understatement. On one floor they met a man who had developed a means of reviving extinct Pokemon from fossils, something that Lincoln made a note to introduce Lisa to at some point.

On another floor they met a man who had developed a program that would allow trainers to access the Pokemon Storage system via their Pokedex or PokeNav, which all three trainers agreed to test out for him. After having the program installed onto their devices, the trio soon concluded their tour and made their way out of the building. After a quick detour to the Pokemon Center to heal their Pokemon, our heroes began to make their way back down Route 104 and through Petalburg Woods.

As they retraced their steps through Petalburg Woods the three trainers took the time to train their Pokemon as well as catch a few more to use as potential Wonder Trades. They also encountered a few trainers as well, which also helped to give their Pokemon some more experience. During one such battle between Lana and another trainer they were surprised when Lana's Nincada began to glow.

The trio watched in awe as Nincada grew larger and wings erupted from its back. Their awe turned into confusion however when the glowing Pokemon's form split into two and when the glowing had stopped, two completely different Pokemon hovered before them.

Lana decided to break in her PokeNav's Pokedex feature and used it to scan first one, then the other Pokemon.

Ninjask: The Ninja Pokemon, Male. Ninjask moves around at such a high speed that it cannot be seen, even while its crying can be clearly heard. For that reason, this Pokémon was long believed to be invisible.

Shedinja: The Shed Pokemon, Unknown. Shedinja's hard body doesn't move—not even a twitch. In fact, its body appears to be merely a hollow shell. It is believed that this Pokémon will steal the spirit of anyone peering into its hollow body from its back.

"COOL!" Lana exclaimed, "Two for the price of one!"

"Wow, Lucy would absolutely love Shedinja," said May.

Later that day the trio began to set up camp for the evening, during which Lana called the family and updated them on the events of the day after Lincoln's battle. All of the family became angered over the actions of the Magma Grunt but were happy that everything worked out ok. Lisa became absolutely stunned when Lincoln explained about the Fossil Restoration machine at the Devon Corporation.

"To think the people of that universe would have such advanced technology." she said, as her mind was whirling with thoughts and theorems on how to make such a device in their world.

"Yeah and one of my Pokemon evolved into two different Pokemon at once!" said Lana as she sent out both Ninjask and Shedinja. Lucy immediately became enraptured by Shedinja and Lisa asked if it could be sent to Royal Woods so she could examine it, to which Lana agreed.

After opening a dimensional portal and handing Shedinja's ball to Lisa in exchange for Paras as well as Lincoln sending over his Abra, the trio ended the call and quickly had dinner before turning in for the night.

This pattern remained the same for the next few days as they made their way through the forest. Eventually they noticed the trees thinning out and soon they left the forest and found their way back onto the southern part of Route 104. A couple hours later the group could see Mr. Briney's house in the distance and soon they were walking up to the old sailor's front door.

Lincoln knocked on the door and waited as they heard footsteps rapidly approaching. Everyone flinched when the door slammed open and Mr. Briney stood with an angry expression on his face, Peeko on his shoulder looking nervous.

"What do you brats want!?" he growled. Lincoln and Co. stepped back in shock. Of all the reactions they expected this certainly wasn't it. Lana gulped as she stepped forward, trying to understand what made the old man so angry in the first place.

"Mr. Briney, it's us. We came here because you said you'd give us a lift to Dewford Town." she said.

Mr. Briney scowled, looking down at the little blonde girl. "I've never seen you kids in my life. Now get off my property before I call the police!"

With that the old man slammed the door in their faces. The three trainers were absolutely shocked. AS they stepped away from the building concerned looks on their face, they failed to notice Mr. Briney looking out the window with a sorrowful expression on his face.

"I'm sorry, children. I just can't get you wrapped up in another mess because of me." he said.

Turning away from the window, he looked towards his small kitchen. Sitting at a table with his feet on a chair was a man wearing a blue and white striped shirt and tights, torn gray trousers, black shoes and gloves, and a black bandana with a skull and crossbone symbol vaguely reminiscent of an A. Next to him was a large red lobster looking Pokemon with a yellow star shaped crest on its head.

"Smart move old man." he said. "Now then let's talk business."

Mr. Briney sighed and made his way to the table, unaware that Peeko had quietly squeezed through a gap in the window and flown off in the direction that Lincoln, Lana, and May had gone.

"I don't understand," said May, "Why was Mr. Briney so angry?"

Lana sniffled, tears in her eyes as she looked up at the older trainers.

"D-Did we do something *sniff* bad?" she whimpered.

May knelt down and gave the younger girl a comforting hug, trying to calm her down.

"I'm sure we didn't do anything wrong, maybe he's just not feeling well. Right Lincoln?"

May turned towards her companion immediately noticing that he was looking back in the direction of Mr. Briney's home, a concerned look on his face. He then turned back towards his companions before speaking.

"I think we need to go back," he said, "I think Mr. Briney might be in some kind of trouble."

Before the two girls could respond, a loud squawking sound came from above. Looking up, the three trainers were surprised to see Peeko swooping down towards them, squawking frantically. The seagull Pokemon quickly landed in front of the trio, looking up at them and making a loud ruckus.

Lana stepped forward, getting on her knees in front of Peeko, trying to calm it down just as May had done with her moments earlier.

"Calm down Peeko!" she said, "I can't understand what you're saying!"

Peeko stopped squawking, taking a quick breath before he began making chirping sounds at a slower pace. Lincoln and May watched as Lana nodded along to what Peeko was saying, once again marveling at the young girl's ability to communicate with Pokemon.

They grew concerned however when Lana's expression grew grim and she quickly turned towards her friends.

"Guy's!" she said, her voice shaking slightly, "Peeko said that some bad man is threatening Mr. Briney!"

"What?!" cried May.

"Lana, what exactly has Peeko said?" asked Lincoln, quickly taking control of the situation.

Lana nodded and quickly began speaking.

"Peeko said that some man showed up yesterday running from the Police." she said. "He threatened to hurt Mr. Briney if he didn't hide him or give him his boat!"

Lincoln grit his teeth in anger, as he growled in frustration. Without waiting for his companions he ran back in the direction of Mr. Briney's house, Lana and May close behind him with Lana carrying Peeko in her arms.

Before long, the three trainers could see Mr. Briney's house once again and at the nearby dock they could see the old man being forced onto his boat by a man dressed as a pirate with a large red Pokemon next to him.

"HEY!" yelled Lincoln, getting the attention of both men. "Leave Mr. Briney alone!"

"Children! Don't worry about me! I'll be fine!" yelled Mr. Briney.

The strange man shoved Mr. Briney onto the boat before turning towards the approaching trainers with a sneer on his face.

"Well, well, well." he drawled, "Some snot-nosed brats want to get on Team Aqua's bad side."

The three trainers stopped not too far away from the man, a look of confusion on their faces.

"What the hell is Team Aqua?" Lincoln asked, causing the man to frown.

"Are you guys like those Team Magma losers?" asked May.

"How DARE you compare Team Aqua to those Magma freaks!" the Grunt growled. He turned towards his Pokemon, motioning it towards Lincoln and Co.

"Crawdaunt, teach these brats a lesson!" he ordered.

The Rogue Pokemon leapt forward swinging its claws in an aggressive manner while letting out a fearsome battle cry.

Lincoln quickly pulled out his Pokedex, scanning the new Pokemon as fast as he could.

Crawdaunt: The Rogue Pokemon, Male. Crawdaunt has an extremely violent nature that compels it to challenge other living things to battle. Other life-forms refuse to live in ponds inhabited by this Pokémon, making them desolate places.

Lincoln grimaced, looking the Crawdaunt up and down. He immediately knew this Pokemon was much stronger than any Pokemon he had faced so far. Turning towards his friends, Lincoln gave them a concerned look.

"Guys, I don't think I can take this guy on alone, I'm going to need your help." he said.

Lana and May looked at each other and gave a quick nod before moving to stand next to the white haired boy.

When all three trainers stood by the others, they each took out a Pokeball, releasing their Pokemon at once. Lincoln sent out Joltik, Lana sent out Lizzy, and May sent out her Skitty.

The grunt sneered at the three trainers, looking at their Pokemon in contempt.

"Is that it? A bug, a lizard and a kitten?" he laughed, "This'll be quick. Crawdaunt! Use knock off!"

Crawdaunt leapt forward, swinging one of his claws in the blink of an eye. Before the trio had time to react, the claw struck all three of their Pokemon in one sweep, sending them flying. All three Pokemon hit the ground hard but managed to get back onto their feet after a moment of collecting themselves.

Lana and May gulped, terrified of seeing their Pokemon be injured. Lincoln on the other hand had a determined look on his face. Without turning towards his companions he began to speak.

"Guys. I know he's strong but I have a plan." he said. In a whispering tone that only his friends could hear he quickly detailed his plan. Skepticism grew on their faces but they simply nodded, trusting their friend.

"Joltik use String Shot and Thunder Wave to try and slow it down!" cried Lincoln. Joltik immediately leapt forward and started spitting a large amount of sticky thread as far as she could covering the field. When it finished it released a shockwave of electricity in the direction of Crawdaunt.

"Cute." said the Grunt. "Dodge it Crawdaunt." The large crayfish Pokemon leapt into the air, dodging the Thunder Wave with ease.

Before he could react, the Grunt became shocked when he heard two voices calling out attacks.

"Lizzy, hit him with Leafage!/ Skitty use Fury Swipes!" they said in unison.

The Grunt could only watch as Lizzy and Skitty both leapt into the air in an intercept course with his airborne Crawdaunt, hitting it with both attacks simultaneously. While Lizzy swung her tail in a wide arc, letting out a flurry of sharp edged leaves, Skitty raked her claws across Crawdaunts face over and over again, blinding it momentarily as both attacks knocked it to the ground.

It was at this moment that Lincoln called out his own attack.

"Joltik use Electro Web while its down!" he cried. The tiny yellow Pokemon once again began spitting out a large amount of sticky webbing in the shape of a large spider web, only this time there was a clear amount of sparking energy coursing through each thread. As the electrified webbing fell on the Crawdaunt it screeched in pain as the energy within coursed through its body.

The three trainers briefly cheered before they pressed their advantage, letting out a barrage of attacks.

However before the attacks could make contact, the Grunt called out for his Crawdaunt to use Protect. A bright shiny shield of energy appeared in front of the Rogue Pokemon absorbing each attack and preventing any damage.

"Crawdaunt. Teach them a lesson with Knock Off then Double Hit!" yelled the Grunt.

Crawdaunt cut through the webbing with his claws, then leapt forward hitting Joltik with Knock Off then sending Lizzy and Skitty flying with Double Hit. Skitty slammed hard into the base of a nearby tree, causing her to lose consciousness while Lizzy flew right back into Lana, knocking the wind out of the little girl.

As Lizzy and Lana struggled to get to their feet, May rushed over to Skitty, cradling the downed Pokemon in her arms.

The Aqua Grunt began laughing at the struggling three trainers, but was abruptly cut off by Lincoln grinning mischievously.

"What's so funny brat?" The Grunt growled.

"I think you might want to look closer at your Pokemon." Lincoln replied.

The Grunt grew confused before looking at his Crawdaunt which was striking parts of his body in seemingly random pattern. He squinted his eyes trying to figure out the source of his Pokemon's odd behavior before seeing a small yellow blur crawling all over his Pokemon. His eyes widened in shock when he realized that twerps Joltik had crawled onto his Crawdaunt when it had been struck with Knock Off.

"Crawdaunt, shake it off!" he yelled. Crawdaunt began thrashing around in an effort to dislodge Joltik but the small bug-type held firm. Lincoln smiled and yelled out to his Pokemon.

"Joltik hit it with a point blank Thunder Wave!" he called out. Joltik briefly stopped moving, stopping in the middle of Crawdaunt's back where it couldn't be reached and blasted the Rogue Pokemon with a vicious discharge of electrical energy, paralyzing the brutish Pokemon.

As Crawdaunt twitched in pain, it was suddenly hit from the side by a recovered Lizzy, her tail glowing with a green light as she drained Crawdaunt's energy with Mega Drain.

"Crawdaunt! Move Arceus damn it!" the grunt yelled out in anger.

"Sorry but I think this battle is over," said Lincoln. "Joltik hit it with a full power Electro Ball!"

Joltik raised its tiny forelegs into the air as it began gathering electrical energy into a small ball above it. The ball grew larger and larger until it was roughly the size of Crawdaunt itself. As soon as it was big enough, Joltik swung its forelegs down in a sweeping motion, launching the ball of energy down into Crawdaunt's body.

There was a large explosion of dust as the energy collided with its target. As both sides waited for the dust to clear, they could hear the sounds of approaching sirens. The Grunt looked around confused before turning back to the boat with Mr. Briney. The old man was standing there holding onto the boat's CV radio, having obviously called the Police while Grunt was distracted.

Whirling around towards the battlefield, he was glad to see his Crawdaunt still standing only having a few electrical burns on its body. He then looked at his opponent and saw to his glee that both Lizzy and Joltik were looking much worse for the wear.

He grinned getting ready to finish off the brats once and for all when he was distracted by the screech of tires. Looking at the source he found that the Police had finally arrived.

Growling in anger he withdrew his Pokemon and turned towards the three Trainers.

"You brats got lucky, but if you EVER mess with Team Aqua again you'll all regret it."

Pulling something out of his pocket, he threw it to the ground causing an explosion of smoke that covered everything blinding anyone nearby. By the time the smoke cleared the Grunt was long gone.

Lincoln breathed a sigh of relief. While he was angry that the Grunt had gotten away he was relieved that they had managed to help Mr. Briney once again. After checking on his sister and best friend, he then gave a statement to the police.

After the Police had taken their statements and sent out officers to search for the missing Grunt, Lincoln and Co. approached Mr. Briney who had Peeko on his shoulder and a relieved look on his face.

"I can't begin to thank you kids for the help." he said, "Once again, I am indebted to you."

"It's no problem at all Mr. Briney," said May.

"We're always happy to help," said Lincoln.

"Peeko deserves some thanks as well," said Lana, "If he hadn't come found us we wouldn't have known you were in trouble."

Mr. Briney smiled, petting his Pokemon's head. The Wingull nuzzled its head into the old man's hand in affection.

Turning back to the young trainer's Mr. Briney apologized for his earlier behavior before motioning the trainers to his boat.

As the boat moved away from the dock, Our heroes looked out into the vast ocean horizon looking forward to their next adventure,

Dewford Town awaits.
