Author's Notes: Adventures of Supergirl: The Next Generation Season 8 is a spin-off sequel to Adventures of Supergirl and Adventures of Supergirl: The Next Generation Season 1-7. If you start here, you will be lost in the sauce. For those who have kept up with my series, prepare for even greater levels of immaturity and nonsense that have only been hinted at so far. This fic is rather open-ended so reader feedback will have an impact going forward.
3024-Earth
The Galactic Federation fleet approached Earth and went into stationary orbit. The fleet was composed of the Prometheus-class light carrier, the USS Lena, two Hades-class battleships, and a fighter squadron numbering two dozen Apollo-class fighters. The light carrier held a roof that could slide open allowing fighter squadrons to exit. In this design, the purpose was to launch as many fighters as possible as quickly as possible while its escort fleet provided protection. The light carrier was 900 meters long and the only carrier as of yet.
The Hades battleships had a triangular shape design with large engines to the stern, docking bays in the belly of the ship, a bridge on the topside, sixty turbo laser cannons, sixty heavy ion cannons, and a dozen missile turrets. They were 1.5 km in length.
The Apollo fighters appeared as jet fighters that were capable of flying in space and had warp drive. They were armed with small laser weapons and missiles. A Charon-class shuttle and two Apollo fighter escorts exited the USS Lena and went straight for Metropolis, the capital of Earth. The shuttle landed on a floating platform overlooking the city. The doors opened revealing Kara Zor-El, the Supreme Leader of Earth and the Galactic Federation. She was dressed in a white uniform, red and gold House of El crest, red cape, skirt, and boots. The uniform change reflected her sense of royalty and mood change. For the last seven years in the future, she had only ever worn black. Meeting her was Brainiac 5 in his typical black uniform.
"Your journey to the past was fruitful?" Brainiac 5 asked already knowing the answer.
Kara couldn't help but smile. "Oh, yes."
Kara then frowned as she recalled all she had lost. Eliza, Jeremiah, James, Lena, Winn, Cat, and so many others had been dead for over a thousand years. She wiped away a tear. "Has the future been adversely affected?" she asked getting to business.
"There was no detectable effect," Brainiac 5 replied. "The World Senate awaits you."
"Have you prepared for my arrival?" Kara asked expectedly.
"Of course," Brainiac 5 replied.
Adventures of Supergirl: The Next Generation Season 8
Mars
Alex and Kelly walked around the Mars base with wonder. Through the windows, they could see the surface of the red planet. However, it had been terraformed allowing Martians and Red humans to exist together. A colony founded by Elon Musk in the 21st century had survived, genetically evolved to deal with the Martian environment, and, as a result, slightly different. They all had slightly reddish skins and were thus nicknamed the Redskins by Kara. Mars now had oceans, visible vegetation from space, and a thicker atmosphere. During the day, normal humans could enjoy the relatively cool weather and breathe the air for short periods of time. At night, it was still too deadly for humans and long exposure to Martian gravity would eventually deteriorate human muscle and bone structure.
"I never thought I would be on another planet," Kelly said amazed.
"I wished my first planetary visit hadn't been just a mission," Alex said referring to Maaldoria.
"Now, you get to decide your own mission," Kelly smiled.
"He's ready to see you now," a Brainiac 5 drone informed them.
Alex nodded and took a deep breath. "I'm here for you," Kelly assured her. Brainiac 5 opened the doors to a hospital room allowing them to enter. On the bed was a very ancient-looking J'onn J'onzz.
Alex sat down at his side. "Is it really you, Alex?" J'onn asked weakly and then lightly touched her face to sense her thoughts.
"I'm here," Alex said tearfully.
"Kara said you'd come, so I kept living for as long as I could. I promised your father I would look after you all the years of your life. I won't be able to fulfill my oath," J'onn said sadly.
"That life ended when I went forward in time. Your oath has been fulfilled," Alex assured him.
J'onn gave her a weak smile. "In this time, there are great wonders but also great...horrors," he warned her. He then turned to Kelly standing next to his bed. "Your brother lived a long and honorable life," he said to her.
Kelly nodded tearfully. J'onn then turned back to Alex. "I wish I could tell you of all the adventures I have experienced these thousand years. No matter what anyone tells you, what we did in the 21st century mattered. It mattered."
"I know," Alex agreed.
"For centuries, I felt rage in my heart. Now, I feel only peace. I will go see my wife and daughters," he said to her.
"And M'gann?" Alex added.
J'onn gave her a blank look. "Oh, yes, her, too," he nodded. "When you went to the future, I let you go. Now...you must let me go."
"You've been like a father to me. I love you, J'onn J'onzz," Alex said as she cried over him.
"I love you, too, Alex," J'onn said and then passed away.
Alex mourned over him with Kelly at her side.
Metropolis, Earth
All of Metropolis was in celebration in a grand parade as Kara made her way to the global capitol building, a mushroom dome structure that was the size of a sports arena. Metropolis was full of skyscrapers, sports arenas, concert halls, universities, museums, restaurant sectors for every 21st-century culture cuisine, and parks. On the coast was a large shipyard. Unlike other worlds, Earth could build spaceships and satellites on the surface and then have Kara launch them into space dramatically decreasing costs. The city was also under the protection of a strong energy shield and dozens of plasma cannons capable of destroying most alien warships in one or two shots and thousands of laser canons in case the city was attacked by a swarm of fighters. Other major cities on the planet also had similar defenses and shipyards. The city was powered by small omegahedron orbs in a fusion reactor.
For the citizens of Metropolis, it was as if their Supreme Leader had never left. For Kara, she had been gone for a few years. In the parade, there were marching bands, tanks, and missile carriers. Fighters passed over the city. Kara made her way up the steps of the capitol building with an army of Brainiac 5 drones, a clear signal to the World Senate not to defy her libertarian views.
Kara eventually entered the World Senate chamber and took center stage. The World Senate was made up of human representatives from all the regions of the world based on GDP output. The world had been divided into fifty nations, consistent with the old American flag that was now the new Earth flag. Each nation was roughly the same in GDP output with the vast majority of that output being from Brainiac 5 drones. When nations would shift in their GDP output for greater or lesser, their borders would then change. On the global level, Kara gave each nation one hundred senators for a total of 5000 senators. Kara established in the Earth Constitution that the Global Senate would need a 2/3rds super-majority to veto her proposals which rarely happened. If the Global Senate managed to actually pass a law, it would require a 2/3rds super-majority to override Kara's veto which also rarely happened. Coalitions within the Global Senate would fluctuate for various reasons and priorities.
The human population had dwindled down to only 200 million and there were vast areas of the planet where no one lived. Due to Brainiac 5's genetic tinkering over several hundred years, humanity was now one race, and one skin color, and gender differences were not nearly as pronounced. Socially, humanity had lost much of its cultural and religious identity after centuries of war over scientific theories. It would take tens of thousands of years to naturally undo what Brainiac 5 had managed to accomplish in a few dozen generations. The exceptions were meta-humans, rare human superheroes that had managed to keep a unique identity from that of everyone else.
Despite the low human population, Brainiac 5 drones now numbered several billion and controlled all aspects of resource extraction, production, and the economy. Humans who joined Kara's regime were automatically given housing, medical care, food and drink, entertainment, and whatever they required within reason. Every human being on the planet could now live a comfortable lifestyle as the planetary GDP per capita easily exceeded the richest 1% in the 21st century. Humans could still work in traditional fields alongside Brainiac 5 drones if they wished but were now able to educate themselves and indulge themselves in the arts and sciences to their heart's content.
Kara carried over the Bill of Rights from the American Constitution and zealously put down any man foolish enough to think he could be a dictator over others. By refusing any other form of government but also eliminating any authoritarian dictatorships, Kara made herself a libertarian empress. In nearly all micro-decisions, she delegated to Brainiac 5, a super-computer that could be trusted to make the right calls.
The World Senate had very little power and often debated the merits of movies, music, art, architecture, and human cultural exchanges. Occasionally, they would come to Kara to complain about something that was either not important or couldn't be immediately fixed by Brainiac 5 drones. With limited resources and time, Brainiac 5 had to prioritize certain projects over others. For the first few years, Brainiac 5 made multiplying himself a key priority exponentially increasing his workforce.
"The Senate has begun a number of protocols to address the many problems in the city. Beginning with more restaurants and theaters for the Greek quarter," the Senate Speaker said to her.
Kara smiled amused at these sorts of debates as they were quite trivial compared to the 21st century. The World Senate would occasionally vote on whether a Broadway play should be produced and whether it was conducted properly. "To combat the ignorance of that quarter," the Senate Speaker continued.
Kara silenced him before he could say more. "Don't you see, speaker? That's the problem with you all. My father spent all his time in study, datapads learning philosophy. He spent his quiet time looking over minutes from the Kryptonian council. And, all the while, he forgot about the people," Kara said incoherently.
"But the Senate is the people, Supreme Leader," the Senate Speaker said boldly. "Chosen from among the people, to speak for the people."
"I doubt the people eat as well as you do, speaker, or have as many mistresses," Kara said, mocking his fatness and promiscuity. "I think I understand my own people quite well, thank you."
"Then, perhaps the Supreme Leader would be so good as to teach us...out of her own extensive experience," the Senate Speaker shot back. Some in the Senate chuckled at that.
Kara advanced on him in a flash. "What the fuck did you say to me?" Kara exploded on him with red glowing eyes.
"Supreme Leader...," Brainiac 5 said, pulling her back.
"Okay, I'm fine, I'm cool, I'm fine," Kara backed off. "Look, I'm the people's mother. The people are my children. And I shall pull them deep into my breasts and embrace them like..."
"Have you ever seen a Greek tragedy?" the Senate Speaker asked her.
Kara glared at him for his boldness. "No," she said softly. "But if you interrupt me again, I'll make you one."
"The Supreme Leader is tired," Brainiac 5 said breaking the tension between them. "Today, she has lost an old friend."
Kara eyed Brainiac 5 knowing what he meant. She turned away from the curious senators and closed her eyes in grief as she reflected on J'onn. He had waited seven long years near death to see Alex one last time. Kara had promised him that and now he was really gone. "Fuck it. Make Greek theater productions a slightly higher priority," Kara ruled.
"As you wish," Brainiac 5 said making a note of it.
The World Senate applauded respectfully for Kara's glorious return, which to them, had only been a day.
Kara made her way over to her personal palace which closely resembled the old Luthor mansion but much bigger and hosted the executive branch for Earth and the Galactic Federation. She entered the command center where she found Mon-El and her son, Kon-El, looking over fleet movements on a hologram table among other military leaders. "Sorry, I'm late. I had to deal with some political bullshit with the Senate," Kara excused herself.
"This fleet of ours is still pathetically small," Mon remarked.
Kara couldn't help but agree. The Galactic Federation only had one light carrier, 18 battleships, 16 cruisers, 100 destroyers, and 80 subs. The subs were a smaller unique ship that had the ability to cloak itself. Compared to the Dominion, the Galactic Federation didn't stand a chance. Their only edge was the firepower of the Super-Insane family.
"Barney, you need to double...triple this fleet," Kara ordered.
"You ask the impossible. I need more drones," Brainiac 5 told her.
"And I want more battleships and cruisers for ship-to-ship fighting," Kara said obnoxiously.
"I know you do," Brainiac 5 said condescendingly.
"Because it looks cool when big ships fire on each other at super-close range. We must have a decisive military victory with battleships, damn it!" Kara said passionately.
"You have made your fleet strategy known to me for some time," Brainiac 5 said.
There was a long awkward silence between them. "Just...do what needs to be done," she relented.
"Thank you," Brainiac 5 said appreciatively.
"But I get to name the ships," Kara insisted.
"Very well," Brainiac 5 agreed.
"How about the next carrier be called the USS Mon?" Kara suggested.
"Fuck that. Using swarms of fighters to take out an enemy beyond visual range is cowardly," Mon refused. "I want my name on a battleship."
"Battleship names are reserved for states and cruiser names are reserved for cities," Brainiac 5 reminded him.
"Well...shit," Mon sighed. "I guess I'll have a sub. Sneaking up on the enemy and firing a torpedo in the middle of a Dominion fleet would be badass."
"We are hoping for a diplomatic solution with the Dominion," Brainiac 5 reminded him.
"Yes, yes," Kara rolled her eyes. "Kon, where's your sister?"
"Where else? The temple," Kon replied.
Kara entered the large Christian temple not too far away. It was a large, tall square-like structure with five bell towers that represented the five pillars of the faith: the profession of faith, prayer, alms, fasting, and pilgrimage. Inside was a giant open space for large worship services and hundreds of confessional booths. Each Brainiac 5 priest drone was allowed to hear and absolve humans of their sins in private confessional booths. Supposedly, Brainiac 5 deleted these confessions from his memory banks after he had absolved the sinner. Brainiac 5 had developed a formula of repentance for every imaginable sin a human could come up with no matter how depraved or unusual it might be.
The temple's open space made it appear like a mosque while having a Christian cross and altar in the back. There were countless statues of recorded saints from history. If one was important enough, they could have a private meeting with the Christian Curia via hologram. There were several of these massive temples across the world with the biggest one being in Rome.
At the top of the fifth tower, Mara-El addressed Pope Barney via a hologram and several of his appointed cardinals. "Girls should be allowed to be altar servers," Mara said boldly.
"We have already permitted women to speak as lectors. You ask too much, Mara," Pope Barney said to her.
"How else will girls advance in their faith if they cannot be involved in the process of the mass?" Mara argued.
"An altar server is training to become a priest. Since women cannot be priests, it is wasted on them. Only boys with an inclination to become priests should be allowed," Pope Barney said.
"Not all boys who are altar servers become priests," Mara said obviously.
"And not all men that enter the seminary become priests," Pope Barney said simply. "The odds a boy altar server will become a priest is higher than zero. We cannot force anyone to be a priest, nor can we know who will ultimately take the oath. That is between a man and God."
Kara entered the chamber without permission and addressed them all. "Am I interrupting?"
"We were just finishing a lively debate on the role of women during the mass," Pope Barney said.
"Are we still just baby factories for God?" Kara asked, wanting an update.
"Yes," Pope Barney confirmed.
"Good to know. Mara, it's time for you to come home. Aunt Alex should arrive shortly," Kara said.
"Of course, Mother," Mara said and then stared at her mother's face. "Since I saw you last, you look like you've been through hell and back."
Kara said nothing to that and allowed Mara to walk past her. Kara went over to the window and saw the beautiful sunset. "She's quite astute," Pope Barney remarked.
"Yes, I know," Kara said hauntedly.
Mars
J'onn's body phased away into nothing as expected. He wasn't given a ceremony as very few people even knew he was still alive. J'onn was given a grand funeral years ago by Kara, Mon, Brainiac 5, and the rest of the Vindicators. J'onn made sure to witness it without anyone noticing he was still alive. It was one of the happiest moments in J'onn's long life.
Alex sat in the chapel lost in thought. Kelly eventually came over to her to ask how she was doing. "I figured he would have been dead centuries ago. It would have been easier. I still can't believe everyone I know is gone," she said stunned.
"I don't like to think about it that way. With a time machine, you can visit J'onn when he's still alive. I can see James again if I want. Life and death are just a matter of time," Kelly said brightly. "When we decide to part with someone for the last time, we simply let them go from our lives."
"I don't know what I want to do in this time," Alex admitted. "I don't want Kara to babysit me for the rest of my life."
"Maybe, it's time you babysat yourself," Kelly said touching Alex's stomach.
"You really mean it?" Alex asked surprised.
"Yeah," Kelly smiled.
The two women kissed in the chapel not caring if anyone saw them.
Metropolis, Earth
Kara entered her office and sat down at her computer. In front of her were plans for a new type of carrier, the Thanatos-class fleet carrier. Brainiac 5 entered to give her a report. "Where is Alex?" Kara asked scornfully.
"She's still on Mars. She described it as a second honeymoon," Brainiac 5 answered.
"She's stalling. I want her on Earth with me," Kara said impatiently.
"That may be a while," Brainiac 5 said knowingly.
"Why?" Kara asked.
"Alex intends to engage in the process of procreation with Kelly for the remainder of her fertility cycle," Brainiac 5 said bluntly.
Kara stared at Brainiac 5, blinked, and then continued to stare at him. "So soon?"
"You are disturbed by this news?" Brainiac 5 sensed.
"I'm happy for her. I truly am. It's just...I wanted to go on adventures with her in my federation without her being anxious about her kid back home. My God, what if she just wants to stay home as a mom the entire time?" Kara asked dismayed.
"The time for adventures with Alex may be over. You have brought her security, prosperity, and order to her life. Seek adventures with your own family, your own children," Brainiac 5 advised.
"You're right. Inform me when they conceive," Kara ordered.
"As you wish," Brainiac 5 bowed his head.
Mars
In their quarters, Alex and Kelly assessed two black cases. Alex inputted the code and unlocked them both. The first case had a hundred test tubes while the second case had a black-colored prosthetic penis. The two sighed as they knew what they were about to do. "Are you sure, Alex?" Kelly asked her.
"I've been waiting a thousand years for this moment," Alex joked. She placed one of the test tubes inside the device and locked it in. "What about you? Does it disturb you that you're putting this on?"
Kelly rolled her eyes. "I know that you're not in love with my genitals. You're in love with my body, my face, my voice, my mind. This toy doesn't change that."
"We're about to conceive a new life. I feel this is kind of sacred so let's be slow and romantic," Alex said to her.
"Sure," Kelly nodded.
The two hesitated awkwardly, looked to make sure the door was definitely locked, and then rapidly took off their 21st-century clothes. Now naked, Alex got on the bed and waited as if anticipating getting an injection. Kelly nervously placed the device in the right spot on her and then felt the machine latch on her. The sensors at the tip would send vibrations into Kelly's vulva. She tested the tip cautiously and felt a vibrating jolt to herself.
"Holy shit," she said stunned.
"You good?" Alex asked concernedly.
"Yeah, I got this," Kelly quickly recovered. She got onto the bed and romantically kissed Alex for a good moment. The two took their time not wanting to rush it. In truth, they were both not eager to use the prosthetic. As they kissed, they touched each other's breasts. Kelly rubbed and fingered Alex to get her ready for what was to come. Alex moaned and moved her hips with her touch.
"I'm ready," Alex gasped.
Kelly nodded and then slowly inserted the prosthetic inside her inch-by-inch. Once she was all the way in, Kelly eyed Alex lovingly. "I'm going to go slow, alright." The two women tensed up, moaned, and gasped as they made love. The prosthetic stimulated Kelly with every thrust.
"I wish we could do this without needing this thing," Kelly remarked.
"Maybe in another thousand years," Alex smiled.
"Once you orgasm, it will trigger the thing," Kelly reminded her.
"Make it happen," Alex said giving her permission.
The two gently moved together. "Okay, you can pick up the pace," Alex allowed.
Kelly nodded and then awkwardly worked to increase her thrusts while trying to keep inside her. Alex clutched her back so that their breasts were rubbing against each other. She then wrapped her legs around Kelly's hips. "Faster," Alex said as she was getting close.
Kelly picked up the pace and struggled to focus as she experienced an overload of stimulation. Suddenly, she felt an orgasm of her own. "Oh, fuck," she cried out and felt she couldn't continue. Focusing on the mission, Kelly continued to thrust even as she felt super-sensitive. The two women cried out loudly and then Alex finally came. The prosthetic suddenly shot sperm deep into Alex and pulsed for a few seconds as it emptied the test tube. Kelly and Alex stared at each other, both overwhelmed by what they were feeling.
"You, okay?" Alex asked concernedly.
"Yeah, I'm good," Kelly nodded.
"We can use it tomorrow morning," Alex allowed.
"Right," Kelly agreed and then detached the prosthetic from herself.
"Now, let's make love our way," Alex invited as she moved towards Kelly.
