Meeting the father
A/N: Hello everyone, I do hope things are going good for all of you, and I do want to apologize for all the time, that this story wasn't updated. But I do hope you will continue to like my stories, and give me advise, and constructive criticism. This chapter may be shorter, due to they are only meeting Tai, and getting ground rules in so, don't expect much this chapter, so without a further ado, let's do this!
If Jaune thought the stares from other people were bad, Tai's was worse.
This was the look of a father protecting his family. A single father, and who did everything for his girls no less. Tai walked up to Jaune face to face, Tai was still taller than Jaune standing at 6'4, while Jaune was only 6'1. Jaune felt like he could collapse at any moment, seeing this guy walk up to him with a cold calculated look, but with also the eyes that promised pain.
Jaune darted his eyes to the side, Ruby was about to get in between him and her father to protect him, but he seen her struggling to leave Yang's grip, with surprisingly Pyrrha covering her mouth, wanting for Ruby to keep quiet.
Jaune looked directly in the eye of the father, who acts like a mama bear for his daughters. Jaune had fear in his eyes, but tried to swallow it, not wanting Tai sense, or even smell fear.
'He knows I'm afraid.' Jaune thought to himself. The stare off lasted for a few minutes, with Tai breaking the ice.
"Huh, I thought you were shorter, what you doing kid, trying to squeeze a few inches on me?" Tai said giving a menacing smile.
Jaune started sweating, not knowing what to say to that.
'What do you say to that, if I say yes, he will know I am a smart mouth, and if I say no, he will know I am a push over, and may not take me seriously ever! What can I do?!' Jaune thought to himself in his head, starting to really feel the sweat.
The girls watched to interaction with bated breath, Ruby even stopped struggling and just stared.
'Come on Jaune, you can do it.' Ruby thought to herself.
'Show my old man what you can do.' Yang thought to herself wanting to see what this young man, she saw as her friend, on what he will do in this situation.
'We believe in you Jaune.' Pyrrha said mentally giving Jaune some silent motivation.
Jaune didn't know what to say or do, he is in a no win situation, he did the only thing you can do in this situation.
"Ummm, I don't know." Jaune said, he gave a neutral answer.
This caused the girls to give off a slight deadpanned look.
'That's it?!' All three girls thought the same thing.
Tai just stared at him, and raised his arm up, Jaune closed his eyes, thinking that he was dad, but felt a strong clap on his shoulder, with a huge laugh coming from the father.
"Hahahahaha, you gave up half way did you, didn't know what to say, but went with that huh, hahaha!" Tai was just laughing, like he heard the best joke of his life. Jaune just looked on in bewilderment. But tried to salvage himself, by giving off a light chuckle.
"Hehe, yeah, my original answer was going to be "Bleurgh" sound, due to a brain vomit." Jaune said trying to be slightly funny. That stopped Tai in his tracks and looked at him with a slight serious look. Jaune froze up again and felt that he said the wrong thing this time. But that changed when he felt and saw Tai trembling a little, trying to hold back a laugh.
"Bwahaha, I had the same thing when I was your age, trying to impress someone, but I actually did make that noise, hahaha!" Tai Yang broke down in laughter, but they also heard Yang laughing, she thought it was funny coming from Jaune, dorkish, and at the same time cute. Tai was laughing for almost two minutes, but eventually calmed down.
"Woo boy, I needed, that I approve of you Jaune Arc." Tai said to him giving a good natured smile. That made all the girls happy especially Ruby, yay her dad doesn't hate her friend, and he's a boy, even better. But then he grew a slightly pointed glare and aimed it at Jaune, that caused Jaune to freeze, and gulped slightly.
"But that doesn't mean, I approve of you going after my daughters." Tai said in the utmost seriousness.
"DAAADDD!" Both girls shouted out, both blushing, with their faces almost being completely red, he didn't have to do that, they can take care of themselves, and be with who they choose to be with dang it!
They all came closer, and gave his daughters a big hug, he is so happy to see his girls again. Even though he has only been away from them for a month, it was still lonely without them. They have always been together, from preschool, elementary, Combat schools, he was there with them all the way. So to see his baby girls, especially Ruby to go off into the world like that it was tough for him, but he needed to have his trust, and faith in his daughters. If they needed him, he will be there for them always.
"Haaaa, it's so good to see you two again, I truly do hope that Beacon is doing well for you two." Tai said to his daughters, that caused his girls to smile at him.
"It's been great dad, you already know we are on a time, Ruby, is my leader, still feels weird, I'm the older sister." Yang said to her father, with her ending a tease toward Ruby. That caused Pyrrha to giggle a little, and Jaune to chuckle slightly. Ruby moved her hand so fast she softly punched Yang in her side, her boob, and her shoulder, until Yang stopped her from trying to do anymore swings. All the while laughing at her antics.
Tai just laughed a little at this. He then turned to Pyrrha.
"You must be the sister team leader to my daughters team, huh? Big shoes to fill with being famous isn't it." Tai asked crossing his arms slightly, he knows who she is, as a teacher, he keeps track of a lot of things, and when it comes to fighters, she is one of the best, and he feels that, she will grow up to be one of the best, but he knows that he can beat her.
Years of experience, and he can tell that she is a tournament fighter, her moves are flashy, and can be countered if an experience fighter knows what they are doing.
"It isn't too bad, but it can be difficult when some team members don't want to listen to you. And the fame gets easier for the most part, it is overwhelming when people are just seeing you as that, but I found important people in my life, that makes it manageable, and all the worth while for the most part." Pyrrha gave a good natured, smile. It wasn't a fake one, but she can tell that Tai is a slight tease, and she sees where Yang gets it from. And the friends she made since coming to Beacon is truly amazing, especially meeting Ruby, and Jaune.
Tai gave a small smile, and nodded. He is glad someone can turn a difficult situation into a blessing. He then turned towards Jaune again. He gave a small smile, but with eyes of sympathy.
"And you are Jaune huh, I thought you would be bigger at first, but hearing how things went I can understand. I just wished we could have under better circumstances." Tai said to Jaune. He truly did feel bad for the boy. Like his daughters they just started out life on their own, but his ended before he could truly start. And before then, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows.
His heart bleeds out for him, he didn't deserve that, like everyone else, who has a good brain on their shoulders, and can truly learn to understand something. This will follow him to the end of his days, and people will be stupid, and believe the girl over him. But thankfully, those who truly listen, and understand what happened, can look past it, and know that he is a victim, and that he is not the bad guy. So Tai will help him, to make things easier.
That comment caused the atmosphere to dip slightly, Pyrrha, and Ruby frowned in slight sadness, and Yang grew to be annoyed, and slight anger. They still hate to hear what that girl did to the poor guy, and Jaune was still feeling it himself.
Jaune flinched slightly, but rubbed the back of his head slightly.
"Yeah, I wish things could have been more different than what had happened. It still follows me, and effects people close to me. So I want to thank you again, sir, for taking me in, and I promise that, I will try my best to help where I can, and to get stronger." Jaune said to him, with a determined, look, but a sad smile.
This caused everyone to smile for him, even though he still hurting a lot. Ruby, and Pyrrha gave him a heartfelt hug, they felt he needed it. Yang joined in next, she used to hug Ruby like this, when she needed comfort, and she put love into it. Yang grew to truly like Jaune, especially when she started to truly better herself. Like her team, and sister team, Jaune was someone she would never want to leave her life, despite for living for no more than a month or two, it felt like years to all of them.
Tai just stood there with a happy smile, so glad to see his girls so happy, and helpful for someone they care for. His fatherly instincts are still there, wanting to rip the man from his girls, and punch the crap out of him. But, he knows that this guy is not a bad guy, and needs help, he will let this go.
But, he still refuses him dating any of his daughters though!
Tai then clapped his hands, to get everyone's attention.
"Well said kid, I'm glad that you haven't given up on yourself, on life, or other people due to this incident. A hunter has to endure those hardships, and come out stronger than before." Tai said to him, but a message to everyone there.
The others just nodded, with small smiles.
"Well then come inside lets, get you settled in Jaune." Tai turned his back to all of them, walking back in. The others started to walk inside, with Yang in front of them. The other two stayed close to Jaune. Ruby, and Pyrrha, essentially wrapped an arm around his own, held his hand. They even subconsciously intertwined their fingers with his.
Jaune didn't notice, he thinking on how things will go on for now since he is here. Whatever happens he will work to better himself, and figure out what he can do for everyone.
A/N: Hey everyone sorry for the long wait, I was busy with life, work, and other stories, trying to figure out how to write everything, and what do with it. This is a shorter chapter, just because I want everyone to know that I will keep going with this story, this is my first story, and I will not abandon it.
Oh and this is something else.
