What if the rowdyruff boys grew tired of being evil?
Butch was standing in a store, trying to figure out how many packs of gold colored gem stickers he could buy with $10 dollars. each gold colored pack costed about 2.50 and Butch was terrible at math.
"what's a 12 year old boy doing starring at gem stickers?" a girl suddenly asked.
Butch turned around to see a girl wearing a green t-shirt, a dark green jacket with the hood up, green shorts and white sneakers stained almost everywhere with dirt and mud, it was a miracle she wasn't dragging mud into the store. Butch couldn't quite see her hair but he could see her bangs hid most of her forehead and her side bangs went down to her non-existent chin.
"I'm just trying to figure out how many of these gold gem stickers I can buy with ten dollars" Butch explained. only then did he realize it was Buttercup. he did his best to keep his composure though, she didn't seem to recognize him just yet.
she took a glance at the cost of the stickers Butch wanted to buy and then looked at him for what felt like decades.
"you can buy four packs for 10 dollars exactly" Buttercup calmly told him.
at that point, a single drop of sweat was on Butch's forehead, his face tinted the slightest red from embarrassment and a touch of another feeling he couldn't quite put his hand on.
"thanks" Butch loudly mumbled.
"your welcome" Buttercup snapped back before heading to the pencils.
"sh-t, I just remembered we need new pencils" Butch muttered under his breath, scared to interact with Buttercup again.
he grabbed a single pack of teardrop shaped, gold colored gem stickers.
Butch took a deep breath before he started walking to the pencils section.
"hey again" Buttercup mumbled from about 2-3 feet away, looking at the twelve packs.
"hey" Butch softly replied.
he looked over at the twelve packs Buttercup was clearly scanning through.
Butch quietly hummed as he tried to do difficult math in his head.
he was so focused on the math, he didn't notice Buttercup drag her attention from the pencils to him.
"you okay?" she asked, genuine concern hid behind a blunt voice.
"I'm so darn bad at math, I shouldn't have come here without my brother" Butch thought aloud.
Buttercup looked at the lone sticker pack in Butch's hand and then stared him right in the eyes.
"if I'm correct about what you want to buy, that'll be about 3 dollars and 80 cents" Buttercup explained, talking like she was a 20 year old doing a job she didn't want to do.
"oh, thank you so much" Butch said, breathless.
he snatched a pack of twelve pencils and headed to the checkout.
"have a good day Butch" Buttercup stated, pulling her hood down to reveal an undercut and a small ponytail.
Butch stopped in his tracks when he heard his name.
once he collected his composure, he spun around in a defensive position.
"I'm not in the mood to fight right now, and if I was, I'd rather do it outside" Buttercup explained as she gently shook her head and went back to looking at pencils.
Butch quickly paid for his things and rushed out of the store to head home.
