Happy Halloween, although it's pretty much over by the time this chapter is posted. I hope you all enjoyed your festivities. I am a grown adult and went trick or treating for kicks and actually got some candy. Actually I dressed up as my version of Mad Hatter and wandered my old neighborhood that I hadn't visited in a while. If people wanted to hand me candy for my costume, I wasn't going to say no. It's always fun when you're in a homemade costume and people on the porch are yelling to the people still in the house to come look at you. I'm still giving thought to redoing my teacup as it was a rush job two years ago and could be better.
To recap, Mahou's past came out to her friends. This chapter is mainly the anime episode of Capumon with a bit of the manga chapter thrown in as you'll see. So enjoy and leave a comment so I know how I'm doing.
The friends were all gathered around Miho's desk. A tall box in star giftwrap and ribbon sat on top.
"What is this?" asked Anzu.
Miho giggled. "It's a present. It just arrived."
"Wait, Miho-chan! It might be a bomb!" Honda told her worriedly.
Jounouchi gave him a flat look. "No way."
Miho untied the bow and started taking off the paper. "Present open!"
The friends stared at the gift in confusion. It looked to be a toy dispensing coin machine filled with white ovals with stars and the numbers one through five printed on them.
"This is a Gacha box, isn't it?" asked Anzu.
Yuugi nodded. "Yeah. A capsule monster one."
"Capsule monster?" asked Jounouchi.
"Also known as Capumon," Yuugi explained. "They're popular with elementary school kids right now. In the capsule is a monster. You use it in a game like chess. The one who defeats all his enemies wins. What's interesting is until the game beings, all you know is your opponent's monster level. To be honest, right now I'm really into it too!"
"But there's no way this would make Miho happy," said Jounouchi. "Might as well be a trash can."
Miho let out a squeal of delight. She had taken out a few capsules and opened them. They weren't filled with Capumon, but jewelry.
"A closed heart necklace and earrings from Tiffany's! It's all stuff I wanted!" Miho held up the pieces.
"Wow!" exclaimed Jounouchi.
Defeated, Honda let out, "Miho-chan . . ."
"Wait, Miho. Just who did this?" Anzu asked seriously. "Who sent this to school?"
Miho held up the card that came with the present. "A college student I ran into recently. Warashibe-kun."
"Eh?" they all cried.
The school bell rang to dismiss class for the day.
"You mustn't go, Miho-chan!" Honda told her desperately. "Don't let things confuse you!"
Miho ignored him and walked out of the classroom with the gifts in hand.
"Miho-chan?" Honda called after her, becoming more panicked. "Miho-chan! Miho-chan!" He dropped to his knees.
"Give it up," Jounouchi told him, walking over to him with his hands in his pockets. "Right now you're a man who can't even buy a single 500 yen Capumon."
Honda openly cried.
"Hey, Jounouchi, cut it out!" scolded Anzu. She looked around. "Huh? Yuugi and Mahou have gone home too?"
"I'll see you when I get home, Mahou!" Yuugi broke away from Mahou and ran down an alley.
"Okay!" Mahou called back.
She walked down the sidewalk.
Warashibe-kun . . . that's the name of Yuugi's Capumon friend . . . thought Mahou. I wonder if it's the same person. And those gifts! Jewelry from Tiffany's is expensive! I'm worried . . .
Mahou noticed she was walking by the art supply store. She checked her bag and found she had some pocket money she could use.
A few minutes later, she was walking out with a small bag of her purchases.
I still have some change left, thought Mahou.
Up ahead in front of a shop was a Gacha with Capumon.
"One won't hurt," said Mahou.
She put a coin in and gave the crank a twist. A Level 2 Capumon popped out. She opened it up and found a bird with a wicked looking beak perched on its platform. Its eyes seemed to be watching something off to the side.
"I don't think I have this one yet," said Mahou.
"Hey, Mahou!" It sounded like a kid.
She turned around and saw a group of elementary school boys, one of which had a wild mane that was such a dark shade of green it was almost black. Only the sun catching it revealed its true color. He was wearing a striped shirt over a collared one and a pair of jeans and sneakers.
"You're Mutou Mahou, aren't you?" the boy asked.
Who is this boy? I don't know any grade school students, thought Mahou.
"Yes," she answered slowly.
The boy laughed. "You don't know me. This is the first time we met. Nii-sama told me about you. But he left out you're actually kinda pretty."
"Huh?" Mahou was baffled at the comment.
"You know Kaiba Seto, right? That's my big brother!" said the boy.
"I wasn't aware Kaiba had a brother," said Mahou.
"He's Kaiba Mokuba! The capsule monster champion!" one of the other boys shouted.
Mokuba pointed to her hand. "You play?"
Mahou looked at the capsule monster she was holding.
"Torigan . . . it's pretty useless unless you know how to play it, then it's a game changer," said Mokuba.
Mahou gave a small shake of her head. "Games are not my strong point. I would be a waste of time to a champion like you."
"Yeah, but not your cousin," said Mokuba. "My brother masters any game he plays. He's my hero. I can't believe a little shrimp like Yuugi actually beat him."
Mahou narrowed her eyes at the jab at Yuugi. And your brother's not afraid to play dirty. She recalled what she saw at the duel, Kaiba's hand suspiciously moving just before drawing Blue Eyes Dragon.
"Everyone has their strengths," Mahou said neutrally.
"Yeah, like you," said Mokuba. "You're really good at art."
That surprised Mahou.
Mokuba laughed. "Nii-sama told me about you too. You drew a card that you only saw for a few seconds. He framed it, you know."
Mahou's eyes widened. Kaiba kept my sketch?
"Anyway . . . I was hoping to find Yuugi here and not you." Mokuba turned around. "Later!"
Mahou watched the group of boys leave. "That was very strange."
She walked home and into the shop to find Yuugi and Sugoroku talking at the counter. "I'm back."
"Ah, Mahou!"
"There you are, Mahou," said Sugoroku. "We were beginning to wonder where you got to."
"I stopped at the art store." Mahou held up her shopping bag. She didn't mention she met Kaiba's little brother.
A few moments later the door opened.
"Hello!" called Miho.
"Oh, Miho-chan!"
"Welcome."
"Yuugi-kun, are there any Capumon left?" Miho asked.
"Capumon? Yeah. Why do you ask?"
Miho bought a Capumon and opened it. It was a little flower creature with tentacles.
"Thanks," she said.
"But, what are you going to do?" asked Yuugi.
"Not much," replied Miho. "But the face isn't very cute. What's so fun about collecting these?"
Sugoroku laughed. "Miho-chan, Capumon aren't for a collection. Capumon is the epitome of battle." He took out a Capumon board. "Want to try?"
Miho backed away. "No . . . Miho isn't interested in battle. Later, Yuugi-kun, Mahou-chan. See you again, Grandpa." She left the shop.
"She's as peppy as always!" said Sugoroku.
The next morning, Mahou heard someone pounding on the door before the shop opened for business.
"Yuugi-kun!"
Yuugi hurried downstairs, Mahou not far behind him. He opened the door.
"Warashibe-kun."
Mahou saw it was a college student with glasses and he had the stick of a lollypop sticking out the corner of his mouth.
"B-big trouble! Please come right away," he said.
"Eh?"
"Hurry!"
Yuugi startled. "Okay!" He grabbed his backpack. "Bye, Grandpa! See you at school, Mahou!"
"Wait, Yuugi!" Mahou called after him.
He ran out of the shop.
Mahou noticed Yuugi's odd behavior throughout the rest of the day. He was almost late to class and then he wouldn't really talk with anyone. And then when school was over, he disappeared, leaving Mahou to do his clean up chores.
She walked home by herself. "I wonder what's going on with Yuugi . . ."
"Kya!"
"Miho-chan?" Mahou started running in the direction of the scream.
There was more screaming and someone yelling and the sound of something solid hitting a person.
Mahou rounded the corner to see Miho hitting a college student with her bag.
"Miho doesn't know a thing about Capumon!" Miho screamed. She gave one final swing with her bag and ran in Mahou's direction.
"Miho-chan!" Mahou cried.
Miho grabbed Mahou's wrist and dragged her with her.
"Why, my baby? Why?" the college student wailed after her.
The two girls continued to run all the way to Miho's house.
"Are you okay?" panted Mahou.
"Miho is fine. Just scared."
"Who was that guy?" Mahou asked.
"Warashibe-kun!" she replied.
Mahou's eyes went wide. "Huh?"
The friends were standing in line for their school lunch and the entire story came out, how Yuugi was helping Warashibe impress Miho with gifts and Miho writing letters back, and finally yesterday with Yuugi acting like a robber so Warashibe could rescue Miho.
Jounouchi laughed boisterously at it all. "I can't believe there's a guy who would use an old trick like pretending to save a girl!"
Anzu stifled a giggle. "That must have been terrible for you, Yuugi."
Yuugi sullenly followed behind her. He shook his head clear. "More importantly, I'm sorry, Miho-chan. I just couldn't refuse. But . . . Warashibe-kun really isn't a bad guy."
Miho said nothing and put her nose in the air.
Behind her, Honda made his feelings on the situation known. "No, he is! He shouldn't even write letters with Miho-chan! No no no!"
Jounouchi looked at the others. "What's with him? Just yesterday he was in such pain he acted like he was dead."
"But the one most at fault is Miho," Anzu pointed out. "Anyone would have misunderstood that emotional letter."
"Eh? Miho thought we could just be pen friends," said Miho.
"Yes, Miho-chan isn't at fault," Honda sided. "Don't worry. I won't let that Capumon man near you again!"
"Thanks! Honda-kun sure is reliable!"
Honda beamed under Miho's attention.
"I don't think normal pen friends give very expensive gifts to one another," said Mahou. "He seemed very fixated on her. But I'm glad you're okay, Miho-chan."
"Thank you for coming home with Miho, Mahou-chan. It was nice to have a friend with me."
"Well . . . you had quite the grip on my arm," Mahou reminded.
Jounouchi, Anzu, and Mahou sat down at a table.
"But I wish I could have seen that Capumon guy!" Jounouchi said.
Anzu snickered. "Normally you don't say 'Baby', right?"
"He sounded like an American movie I saw before," Mahou told them, scrunching up her nose.
A cafeteria worker in a smock and mask put three glasses of water on the table for them. The worker walked down the waiting line and sat a fourth glass on Honda's tray.
"Thanks," Honda told the worker.
Mahou took a sip from her glass.
"You've seen American movies?" asked Jounouchi.
"A couple," Mahou replied. "They were love stories. I couldn't understand them very well because they were in English."
"Then why did you watch them?" asked Anzu.
"To learn styles, to paint different things," Mahou answered. "He thought it was a good way for me to learn what Westerners liked."
Jounouchi gritted his teeth. "Tch! Just thinking about what that bastard did to you makes me angry."
"He's not worth your thoughts, Jounouchi-kun," said Mahou.
"Hmph!" Jounouchi's features softened. "You know, you can just call me Jounouchi."
"Huh?"
"Anzu already does," Jounouchi said. "And after trusting us with your past, it doesn't seem right that you feel obligated to use –kun."
A small smile came to Mahou's face. "In that case, don't feel bad about dropping the –chan with me."
"Yosh!" Honda jumped up, shifting the table and causing trays and cups to move.
"Ahh!"
Mahou's water glass tipped over and spilled down her front before rolling off the table. She shoved herself away from the table.
"Mahou-chan, you may call me Honda-nii-chan! I will be your big brother and protect you from whoever would use your talents for evil!"
"Dumbass!" Jounouchi jumped up and grabbed Honda by the front of his shirt. "You're making a mess!"
Honda realized that Mahou was soaked and there was water all over the table. "Ack! I'll get towels!" He ran off.
"Idiot," muttered Jounouchi. "He should tell you to drop the –kun because he's a moron."
Next period started and Anzu, Jounouchi, Honda, and Mahou were struggling to focus on class to different degrees. Almost all at the same time, Anzu, Jounouchi, and Honda raced out of the classroom.
"Hey!" the teacher cried.
Mahou wretched and quickly covered her mouth.
The class all looked at her.
"Out! Go!" ordered the teacher.
Mahou ran out of the classroom and to the bathroom. There was a horrible noise in the stall next to her.
"Anzu?"
Anzu moaned.
"Anzu, Mahou-chan?" Miho called.
"We're in here," Mahou responded.
"Yuugi-kun is looking for Jounouchi-kun and Honda-kun," Miho told them. "Are you okay?"
"No . . ." moaned Anzu. "My stomach hurts so much . . ."
"I'll be fine," Mahou replied.
After a few minutes they got Anzu out of the stall and down to the infirmary. Yuugi was already there with Jounouchi and Honda. Once the three were resting comfortably, Miho, Yuugi, and Mahou sat with the nurse.
"You're fine," the nurse told them. "You just drank raw water. It's nothing to worry about. But . . . Why just you guys? The other students are fine."
Yuugi glanced at the curtained off area where their friends were resting. Anzu . . .
Mahou was deep in thought. Only us? What did we have that the other students did not? And why am I not as sick as them?
A cafeteria worker in a smock and mask put three glasses of water on the table for them. The worker walked down the waiting line and sat a fourth glass on Honda's tray.
"Thanks," Honda told the worker.
Mahou took a sip from her glass.
Mahou's lips parted slightly in surprise. The water glasses!
Yuugi and Mahou walked home together in silence. Yuugi kept glancing over at her while Mahou held her stomach with one hand.
"Yuugi-kun!"
They turned around to see a furious Miho.
"Show me to Warashibe-kun's," she demanded angrily.
Yuugi showed them to the rundown warehouse where Warashibe had his vast selection of Capumon. Miho told them about the note she found in her shoe locker from Warashibe. He was the one responsible for making their friends sick.
They reached the warehouse.
"All right. Here I go, Yuugi-kun," Miho said.
Yuugi nodded. "Mmh!"
"We're with you," said Mahou.
They went up to the doors and Yuugi and Mahou slid them open. Miho stood between them and glared inside where Warashibe was standing over a Capumon board sitting on top of a crate.
His face lit up when he saw her. "My sweetheart."
The English endearment made Mahou cringe.
"So you've finally come to jump into my arms?"
Miho yelled, "Don't joke! Miho was kind of wrong, but . . ." Miho pointed her finger at him. "There's no need to do such a terrible thing to Anzu-tachi, right?"
"I heard from Miho-chan," Yuugi added. "Warashibe-kun, that's too mean! I can't believe you would do that!"
"You made us sick!" cried Mahou. "You poisoned us! Why would you do such a thing?"
Warashibe's face went expressionless, the setting sun casting a red glare over his glasses. "It couldn't be helped," he said calmly to Miho. "They got in the way of my fate with you."
"There is no fate," Miho told him. "Miho is angry today. Listen! Never do this again!"
Warashibe put his hands up and shrugged his shoulders. "You aren't very honest, my honey. But if you're going to say that . . . Why not decide it with a game?"
"Game?" repeated Miho incredulously.
Yuugi and Mahou stared at him.
Warashibe picked up some Capumon. "Capumon. You've been practicing it, right? If you win, I won't approach you anymore. But if I win . . . You will follow fate."
"Okay," Miho agreed determinedly.
Yuugi gasped. "Miho-chan!"
Warashibe turned on the bright lights above the Capumon board. To the side was a Gacha machine loaded with Capumon. Miho and Warashibe sat across from each other at the board. Yuugi and Mahou stood at Miho's side.
"The field is version 7," Warashibe told her. "Crisis hill. It's a good field for a beginner like you."
"You'd better not regret it," Miho snapped at him.
"What pep," Warashibe complimented. "Truly my goddess. Now let's take turns pulling the capsules. Ladies first. Go ahead."
Miho went to the Gacha machine and turned the knob. A Capumon popped out.
"Level 1," Yuugi observed.
"Too bad," said Warashibe, taking his turn at the machine. "Then . . . I'm next."
He turned the knob and a Level 5 Capumon fell out.
They took turns to select five Capumon each and set them on the board.
This is bad, thought Yuugi. Miho-chan has three Level 1's. And Warashibe-kun's all Level 4's and 5's.
"I'm so sorry," said Warashibe with a smile. "I can see the result of this match before starting."
"You can't know that until we do this!" yelled Miho.
Mahou silently agreed with that.
Warashibe continued to be unapologetic. "That's the spirit. Game start."
They opened their Capumon and arranged them on the board. Warashibe's monsters looked cruel while Miho's had some sweetness to them.
Mahou noticed one of Miho's monsters was a familiar bird. That's Torigan!
"Torigan . . . it's pretty useless unless you know how to play it, then it's a game changer."
But does Miho-chan know how to use it?
Miho looked at her side of the field worriedly. What'll I do? Even though I said that, I really have no idea!
"Then . . . Please go ahead," Warashibe told her.
"Miho-chan, you can do it!" Yuugi encouraged.
Got to do it. It's sink or swim. Miho moved a piece on the board.
Yuugi's brows drew together. That's not a good move.
Warashibe hummed. "Nice move. Then I'll use Gumbo . . ." He took her monster down. "Okay, one down."
Miho screamed. "So pissed! Go Level 4 Great Paa!" She moved her piece.
"I can see this isn't going to be any challenge," Warashibe commented. "Hurry and give up. My dear."
Miho jumped up and threw her fists in the air. "Shut up! Hurry up and do it!"
Yuugi staggered back and into the Gacha machine, knocking it over. It broke open and scattered Capumon everywhere.
Yuugi looked closely. "Huh? There's a strange device inside. Don't tell me Warashibe-kun . . ." He turned around. "This is a trick!"
Mahou stepped around and saw the contraption. She whipped around to face Warashibe.
"That's right," Warashibe confessed. "It always switches between outputting low level and high levels."
"What?" shouted Miho.
"I didn't want to put you through a long, painful fight," he said.
Miho glared. "Stop with your excuses! This is clearly against the rules! Okay, let's go, Yuugi-kun, Mahou-chan. We win."
"That's no good," Warashibe said. He got up and pulled a sheet off of something large. It was a giant Capumon capsule. "When you enter this, you will be the best. You are already mine. Mine mine mine!" He waved his lollipop in the air, absolutely giddy.
Yuugi stared at him. "Warashibe-kun!"
"He's unhinged," breathed Mahou.
"Let's run!" cried Miho.
The three of them turned and started running for the door.
"You can't run away, darling," Warashibe said calmly. He pulled a rope.
A large barred panel slammed down in front of the door. They gasped, realizing they were trapped. The beam holding up the panel broke and it tipped over in their direction. Warashibe gasped as he had not anticipated this. Everything came crashing down, kicking up a great plume of dust and engulfing the trio.
"Oh man . . ." Warashibe groaned juvenilely. "It broke . . . Huh?"
The Millennium Puzzle glowed brightly.
"Warashibe." Yami held an unconscious Miho in his arms. Behind him, Mahou had her hand fisted in his jacket. "This prank has gone on too far."
Warashibe stared at Yami. "Yuugi . . . kun?"
"Game time," Yami declared.
Mahou let out a sigh of relief.
Yami laid Miho on top a crate. He then turned to Mahou. "Are you hurt, Mahou-san?"
Mahou shook her head. She looked at Warashibe and shuddered. "Just . . . This guy is obsessed with Miho . . ."
Yami walked over to the board and took Miho's vacated seat. He crossed his arms and looked directly at Warashibe.
Warashibe was puzzled by the change in demeanor. "Game? Then shall we restart?" he offered.
"No, this is fine," Yami said.
"Like this? With these disadvantageous monsters?"
"Let's see if they are a disadvantage or not," said Yami. "I will take over for Miho-chan's operation."
Warashibe laughed. "Operation? A beginner like her . . . there's no way she'd have one."
Mahou moved so she could see the match and be a buffer for Miho. He's clueless . . . Yami can make a lot out of very little.
"At any rate, let's begin," said Yami. "However . . . The game we begin . . . will be a Yami Game."
Warashibe hummed. "Then . . . let me start it." He moved his piece to attack.
The king cobra monster started moving on its own and so did Great Paa. Both being Level 4 Capumon, they destroyed each other.
Warashibe stared before a smile crossed his face. "That's interesting!" he said excitedly. "But they struck each other out. Makes no change in my advantage. Go, Dionsaurwing!"
Said monster flew off the board and destroyed the little flower Capumon with a blast of fire.
"Looks like the levels are too different, Yuugi-kun," said Warashibe. "Now you only have two monsters left."
Yami smirked. "That's right." He made his move.
"That's no good," sneered Warashibe. "My Headzacker is there."
His skull-like monster slid across the table and devoured the castle tower looking monster.
"Too bad, Yuugi-kun. The only monster you have left . . . is a Level 2. I win."
"Really?" asked Yami, smirk never fading.
"Eh? Not giving up yet?" Warashibe asked.
"Take a good look at the arrangement of your monsters on the field," Yami told him.
"Huh?"
Warashibe and Mahou looked at the field set up. All of Warashibe's monsters were in a diagonal row with Yami's final monster in the same line.
"My monsters are all lined up! When did this happen?" cried Warashibe.
"And . . . my last monster, Torigan," said Yami. "His level is low, he can't turn easily. And he's not suited for close combat, but . . . He has one secret move."
Mahou's face lit up while Warashibe's was blank.
"Only usable once, he can defeat even a Level 5 monster," Yami explained. "He has a one hit hissatsu attack for seven consecutive spaces."
Warashibe's jaw dropped. No way . . . from that disadvantageous position he sacrificed his monsters for a sudden turnaround!
"Here I go! Flight of the gale!"
Torigan took off and drilled through all four of Warashibe's monsters.
Mahou smiled. Yami won!
Warashibe gasped. "My monsters . . ." He held his head in his hands.
Yami stood up and walked away. "Warashibe . . . Capumon isn't just about zealously collecting monsters. It's about how to use the monsters you obtain to win."
"I lost . . . I did . . ." Warashibe overturned the crate and tipped back in his chair. He punched and kicked the air. "No no no no no! Nosaka Miho is mine!"
Yami turned around. "The door of darkness . . . has opened."
Warashibe was trapped in a giant Level 1 Capumon capsule.
"It's dark! It's cramped!" he screamed from inside.
"A small punishment," Yami said coolly. "Capumon aren't a collection. It's a battle game. Better remember that." He carefully picked up Miho and he and Mahou walked out of the warehouse. They could still hear Warashibe's wails once outside.
"Warashibe . . ." Mahou said quietly, breaking the silence as they walked. "How appropriately named . . . such a childish college student."
"Maybe now he'll learn a lesson," said Yami.
"Hmm."
They walked to Miho's house and found it dark.
"It doesn't look like anyone's home," said Mahou. She tried the door and found it locked. She checked Miho's bag and found her house key. Mahou opened the door and turned on the light. "Excuse us? Hello?"
No answer. Miho's parents were clearly out.
"I think we can put her on the sofa," said Mahou.
Yami laid her down.
Mahou stood nearby. "She's okay, right?" she asked worriedly. "She didn't get hurt, did she?"
"I think she fainted over the stress of it all," said Yami. "She should wake soon."
Mahou nodded. She reached into her bag and pulled out some paper and a pen. "We need to get home soon ourselves."
She scribbled a note on the paper and placed it in Miho's hand to find when she woke up. After that, they left the light on for Miho and locked up the house, putting the house key under the mat.
Yami walked with his hands in his pockets, Mahou beside him. He looked over at her. Feeling his gaze, Mahou turned to look at him. He seemed perplexed about something.
"What's wrong?" she asked. "Do I have something on my face?" She wiped blindly at her cheeks and nose.
"No," he replied. "Usually you're troubled after a Yami Game. But tonight you seem . . . lighter."
Mahou smiled gently. "I think any sane person would be troubled by a Yami Game." She reached into her bag and pulled out the Capumon she got earlier in the week. "Torigan . . . I knew it was a game changer. I just didn't know how. When you took over for Miho-chan, well . . . If anyone was going to turn the game around, it was you. I guess I wasn't as worried as I normally am."
Yami looked at the Capumon in her hand. "It suits you."
"Hm?"
"You're quiet and not confrontational . . . but if you're in the position, you can deliver a mighty attack of your own," said Yami.
Mahou blinked.
"Remember that, Mahou-san."
Her mouth opened in surprise. "Yami . . . thank you . . ."
Yuugi and Mahou walked to school with Anzu, Jounouchi, and Honda.
"Thank goodness," Yuugi said. "I'm glad you got better right away."
"It wasn't a big deal," Anzu assured.
"Mahou was the lucky one," Jounouchi mumbled.
"I have Honda-kun to thank for that," said Mahou.
"More importantly, I can't believe Miho-chan fought that Capumon man for me!" Honda said, tearing up. "I feel terrible."
"Fool!" Jounouchi said. "Don't say Capumon! Each time you say that my stomach turns. I don't want to remember it."
Anzu smiled. "But the Capumon man sure learned his place quickly."
"I said stop it!" Jounouchi barked.
"Everyone! Good morning!"
They stopped so Miho could catch up to them.
"Miho-chan!" Honda called.
"Good morning!" Yuugi greeted.
Miho ran towards them. "Hey, hey, Miho got this great Capumon . . ." She tripped.
The others let out shouts of surprise.
Miho's bag fell open and Capumon scattered onto the ground. Miho lifted her head and giggled. The others just stared and groaned at all the Capumon she had in her bag.
Re-watching this episode for this chapter, I had a brief moment wondering how Miho got home after the Yami Game and Yami taking her home and letting himself in was my answer, though it could stand to reason Miho would have woken up at some point and wouldn't have known the difference between Yuugi and Yami as she is more than a bit ditzy.
Thoughts and feelings about Mahou's first interaction with Mokuba? I will admit I wrote it, found my old planning notes that differed from what I wrote, but couldn't bring myself to go back to the old plan. Also, I don't plan on interactions between Mahou and Yami at the end of chapters continuing to be a thing. It just happened these two chapters.
The next chapter is Kaiba's second game master and the game show episode. After that is the false prophet. I haven't planned out that far, but for those fans who know the manga and Season 0 inside and out, anybody got suggestions for Mahou's fortune? I feel like she's going to need one and I haven't a clue of what it'll be.
New chapters won't be out until December. I somehow found myself consistent with a chapter a month, but since this is coming out at the end of October and I posted on earlier this month, I'm going to do the next in December, mostly because I have very little planned for the few episodes and I need to get my timeline straight.
