Disclaimers: I do not own Gravity Falls

Author's Notes: So, I know it's been a while, too long to be honest, but I've been in a creative slump as of late and I am really trying to get out of it. So, I decided the only thing to do is force myself to get over it. With that said, here we go.

Thanks for reading and please review.

(Back with Bill…)

He had thought he would never be back in these halls again. Bill looked around his last period class doing his best not to drool from boredom. He wished he could be somewhere more exciting. But with his week of suspension up and with his antics causing Ford's patients to grow thin; there was really no getting out of this.

To make matters worse the day had been excruciatingly long, and he just really wanted to go home. Bill sighed this was the only class that none of his friends were in. No Wendy, no Janna, no Mabel, or any of her besties. Worse of all, no Dipper! A fact that he was slowly getting used to.

There was however one person in the class that he did know, unfortunately the flesh craving madness of last week proved that they were anything but friends.

Mina Loveberry!

In the week that he was gone she had already turned the entire school against him. Just days before Bill was easily the most liked person here. Everyone wanted to be his friend, his popularity nearly rivaling Pacifica Northwest herself!

Now everyone saw him as a freak!

But that wasn't the worse of it. While most of the students and staff believed Bill's, fiasco had been nothing, but a messed up prank gone wrong, thanks to Mina some knew better. She actually told people the truth, and worse they had believed her.

When Bill revealed this to Dipper he didn't seem surprised. "There are a lot of people out there who choose to believe the monsters and creatures are a hoax." He explained. "A trick of the eyes, they don't want to see; so, they don't." He sighed. "Not everyone is like that Bill. People like Mina only see the bad in Magical creatures. The fact that you all came from other dimensions and technically don't belong here only makes her argument that much stronger."

Bill groaned as he remembered the conversation now.

Mina and her group had been watching his every move all day, and the fact that he had every class with Mina or one of her followers made him feel kind of nervous. It wasn't that he was scared of a bunch of humans, of course not. But Ford had said Mina was "The most skilled spell caster I have ever seen; human or otherwise."

This was coming from a guy who helped the Ciphers battle Seth HIMSELF!

Still, as hostel as Mina and her little club were acting, they hadn't made a move, or even talked to him. So, as nerve racking as it was, Bill forced himself to ignore the girl's glaring eyes and focus on Mr. Mihalko's lesson.

"Now if you remember last week's discussion we cover the Ancient civilization of-"

Suddenly the door swung open, and everyone began to gasp in excitement. Being in the back of the room, Bill couldn't see anything. He goes to move when suddenly the seats in front of him are lifted up by flames.

Bill blinked in disbelief this was not happening...

Bill's ex-girlfriend, Pyronica Lucitor walked up with a sly grin on her face. She threw off her sunglasses.

"Hey, you," she greeted with a wink, holding out her hand she made a purple fiery moon appear. "I'm here to take you to the Blood Moon Ball."

Bill was beyond words.

Did she seriously just come all across another dimension to his school, walked into his class, and asked him out to some stupid dance?! After the crap that she had put him through!

He gets up, a look of anger flashing in his golden eyes.

No one moved, no one spoke as Bill pushed her out the door, through the school and all the way back outside.

"No, No, No, NO!" He growled as they reached her carriage. "Take your carriage, fire, and dead horse back to the underworld," he ordered.

The skeleton horse turned his head. "Wait...I'm dead?" He asked?

Bill begins to walk away in a huff.

"Oh, Come on Billie! It's the Blood Moon Ball." Pyronica reasoned as she flew in front of him and grabbed a hold of his two hands and started flying them into the air. "It only happens once every six hundred and sixty seven years. Plus, you promised you'd go with me."

Bill pushed her away and floated back down to the ground gracefully. "That was before we broke up."

Pyronica pouts, "Can't we just move passed this?" She asked hopefully.

"Move past it?" Bill yelled. "You freaked out at the Silver Bell Ball and lit the entire ball room on fire."

"You were dancing with another girl!" Pyronica snapped.

"It's the Silver Bell Ball, You're supposed to dance with everyone! You're possessive, and controlling and being with you is suffocating!" He yelled as he started to stomp away.

That is until something she says makes him stop.

"I know…" She admitted.

"Wait…what?" Bill asked, stopping, he even turns around to look at her. Did she just agree with him? Pyronica never admitted when he was right! Even if it was obvious that she was wrong; she would argue otherwise.

"Look I know it's probably too late, but I've changed. I realized with you gone and out of reach that I really missed you, and I hated being without you. So, I decided to clean my life up, I even got a life coach."

A slightly obese women peeked out the carriage with a bunny and waved. "Hi I'm Sarah." She said, "And I have a bunny." She held the little creature up.

"This is Carrot." Pyronica explained petting the bunny. "She is my emotional support animal. Whenever life gets out of control and I feel like I'm going to explode and go crazy possessive I just give her a pet." Pyronica took the bunny out of Sarah's hand.

Bill couldn't help but smile, it was kinda cute.

"Thanks to this little guy I haven't had an outburst for fifty three days! That's a big accomplishment for me."

"Fifty three?" Bill repeated. He had to admit that was impressive, and knowing Pyronica, he also knew it was no doubt very hard for her to achieve. Back when they were dating Pyronica would have a possessive outburst if someone even looked at him the wrong way. One time a guy said they liked his shoes and she nearly devoured him on the spot.

Pyronica nodded and held her bunny up. "Wanna pet it?"

Bill sighs and moves to do so, after all Pyronica had obviously put in a lot of hard work to change, something Bill said she'sd never do for him. The least he could do was give her this one chance, but before he can pet the soft creature Dipper comes out of nowhere and straight up chopped off Pyronica's left hand, dropping the bunny.

"GET AWAY FROM HIM YOU DEMON!"

Pyronica backed up. She looked like she was about to lose it completely until Sarah came out and walked her around in circles.

Bill gives Dipper a fearful look. "Pine Tree run!" He warns.

"Oh! No! No, no, no! I'm okay. Everything is okay." Pyronica put her hand back on. "I got all the anger out..." She picked up her bunny and ruffled its fur.

"Bill who is this?" Dipper asked.

"Pine Tree, this is Pyronica..." Bill answered sighing.

"Demon ex-girlfriend Pyronica?" Dipper asked.

Bill nodded. "Pyronica this is …"

"Dipper Pines!" Pyronica grabbed Dipper's hand and shook it. "Hector told me all about your run in with the goons at St. H's." She revealed.

"Did he now?" Bill asked in a threatening tone. "Did he also tell you where to find me?"

"Oh no Kelly's parents did." Pyronica revealed as Dipper pulled his hand away.

Bill growled, and here he was hoping she had stopped her possessive ways, but the fact that she hunted him down like this screamed anything but!

"So, what is she doing here?" Dipper whispered to him.

"She wants to take me to a ball..."

"Bill, you never go with a predator to a second location," Dipper reminded him.

Pyronica sighed heavily and gave the bunny to Sarah.

"Listen, I get why you're mad. I am a total control freak, but I just wanted a chance for us to start over. We don't even have to be a couple; we can go as friends."

"Friends?" Bill asked.

She nodded, smiling.

Bill found himself smiling too. Pyronica had changed, or at least she was trying, that much was true. She would never be this rational, the normal Pyronica would have bounced Dipper by now, accusing him of trying to steal Bill away from her. And she would never suggest they start off small as friends, her possessive nature wouldn't allow anything less than boyfriend and girlfriend status between them!

"Why didn't you tell me I'm dead!" said the dead horse, interrupting the conversation.

They all ignored it.

"Look, no pressure. But if you ever decide ya wanna go," she handed him a bell with a red moon on top and a tiny hammer to go with it. "Just hit this bell!" She got into her carriage. "I hope I see you there."

And with that she descended back into the underworld.

Bill couldn't help but laugh silently to himself, he was actually sorry to see her go.

"You're not thinking about going are you?" Dipper asked, breaking thought his thoughts.

"Going where?" Mabel asked as she appeared.

"Bill's ex asked him to a ball!" Dipper exclaimed.

"Aw that's sweet." Mabel exclaimed as they started heading home.

"She just wants to prove to me she's changed." Bill explained to Mabel. "Dipper doesn't even think I should give her a chance."

"You told me she was a control freak!" Dipper reasoned.

"But you like her." Mabel asked.

"She was fun to be with." Bill tried to explain. "When she wasn't flipping out, her thrill for excitement could even rival mine." He admitted.

Dipper bit his lip, he knew it was pointless to argue, Bill was never one to turn down a party and with the way their classmates have been treating him he might want a break from this dimension all together.

"You're making a huge mistake Bill," Dipper told him, as they entered the shack and headed up stairs.

Bill stepped into his room to get dressed.

"Maybe...but it could be fun!" Bill responded, getting his outfit ready.

"But why don't ya just stay here with us? Where it's...always fun!" Dipper suggested, giving Mabel a pleading look.

"Yeah we could binge movies, or go to the bounce lounge, you love the lounge." Mabel suggested.

Bill could detect the sadness in their voices, especially Dipper's and it made him feel extremely bad. Was this a mistake to go? Was Dipper right? Maybe…But in the end, he knew it was going to be fun; Pyronica was the definition of fun.

"Guys I get it." Bill said, pushing off the guilt as he went to get dressed in his changing area blocked from their view. "You're worried, but it's just a dance."

"I just don't trust Pyronica...maybe I should go with you-" Dipper began.

"No, Pine Tree, that is unnecessary. It's a dance and it would be completely awkward if I brought you too." Bill reasoned as he finished changing "Plus, you weren't invited anyways."

"Ouch." Mabel commented.

"Okay, I didn't mean to sound rude. But my point is, you gotta trust me with things!" Bill stated.

"All I'm saying is, girls like Pyronica never change." Dipper warned.

"Well, geez Pine Tree, who broke your heart-" Bill snapped.

Dipper didn't answer, and Mabel cleared her throat.

Bill detected the uneasiness in the air, and decided to drop it as he stepped out. "Well, um, how do I look?"

Dipper had expected something over the top, but Bill actually looked pretty amazing. He wore a yellow dress shirt underneath his tailcoat jacket which had a brick pattern on the bottom, the ends of his white pants had a blue flame design, he also wore black boots and a black bow tie.

"You look great Bill," Dipper answered, forcing himself to smile.

"Why thank you!" He picked up the bell and hammer that Pyronica gave him earlier, then looked at him. "I'll be back soon," he whispered.

"Don't go." Dipper pleaded.

"I'm totally going." Bill smiled teasingly, he had to admit Pine Tree was cute when he pouted like that.

Mabel looked to Bill, and then Dipper and smiled as if she just realized her own little inside joke.

Bill hit the bell then, and a carriage came immediately to pick him up. He hopped inside.

Mabel waved happily. "Have fun!"

Dipper's wave was less enthusiastic, but he tried to be supportive. "Bye." He said to Bill.

"Bye Pine Tree!" Bill squealed. And before they knew it, he was on his way to the ball.

Mabel gives her brother a knowing smile.

"What?" Dipper asked.

"Oh nothing." She laughed. "So, what now?"

"I'm gonna have my own fun...heh." Dipper said grumpily as he throws himself on Bill's couch, moping.

"Seriously?" Mabel asked.

(Back with Bill…)

It had been sometime since Bill had been in the underworld. The environment is rocky, covered in flames, lava, stalagmites, and stalactites, and seemingly underground; hints the name. However, in some places like Lava lake Beach there appears to be a sky. Bill smiled as the environment brought back memories.

The Lucitor's were another Breed of Demons, like Bill's family and just like Bill they were nobles. And while the underworld existed under every dimension it was still classified as part of the Nightmare Realm. And it also happened to be the one place that Bill could truly escape his father's judgmental gaze. Down here he and his friends got into a lot of good fun and mayhem, and one day said fun led him to Pyronica.

He smiled as said demon came into view she was wearing a violet gown for the evening. The sleeves and blouse were vaguely of a gypsy cut, all done in syrupy browns and shades of violet flecked with white that seemed to undulate of their own volition. The skirt consisted of ruffled tiers of burnt orange satin that ended in a ragged hem just above the ankle, as if the seamstress had suddenly been called away before completing her task. A spidery black lace bodice consummated the ensemble.

Bill had to admit she looked amazing.

"Firefly! You came!" Pyronica rushes over to him.

Bill stiffens a laugh; there she goes with her silly nick names again. She had like a thousand for him. Billie, Gold boy, Beast, Billion (he kind of liked that one), Honey bun, Flame, and of course Firefly. It was nice to have someone who got his whole stick for nicknames.

"You are breath taking." Pyronica complemented as they started for the Ball room. "I am so glad you decided to come."

Bill found himself relaxing as she linked her arm in his, leading the way. "Me too." He admitted. This was nice, to be somewhere where everyone wanted him around, and no one saw him as a Menace. Several underworld residence waved his way as they went by.

"Awe Pyronica I see you finally got your man back." One called out to her.

Bill tensed, suddenly feeling uncomfortable, he didn't want to give anyone the wrong idea. If rumors started to buzz around Pyronica's family might hear of them, and Bill knew her mother did not take their break up very well.

"No, we're just here as friends." Pyronica said with ease as they kept walking.

Bill relaxed once more. "I'm really impressed." He admitted.

"What do you mean?" Pyronica asked.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but I thought you'd never change." Bill admitted.

"Well, I really care about you, and I want to be together, even if it's just as friends." Pyronica said smoothly.

Bill smiled warmly. "I told Pine Tree It was fine." He laughed.

"Pine Tree?" Pyronica asked, her eye twitches slightly at the name.

"Yeah he was being so overprotective of me coming." Bill said, missing the obvious possessive ques Pyronica was displaying.

Sarah however sees it like a tall tale sign and rushes over with Carrot the Bunny. "You can be positive that your anger is negative." She reminded her.

Pyronica smiles and pets the bunny before they move on.

(Back with Dipper…)

It didn't take long for Dipper's depression to send him downhill. He was currently dressed in one of Bill's spare tux, sitting in his bedroom and munching down on nachos. "I'll have my own Blood Moon Ball in here, where it's always fun."

He looks up at the blood red half-moon in the sky. Something just didn't feel right, he couldn't explain it, but he knew letting Bill go was wrong.

"Blood moon tonight." A voice speaks gravely.

Dipper looks around. There's no one there. He looks at a portrait of a maiden on an old sea boat looking over the ocean. Dipper always thought it was strange for Bill to have this picture of a human in his room. A room that was supposed to be a carbon copy of his one back home. She had long chocolate brown hair and matching doe eyes.

He looked away and continued chewing.

"The moon of lovers."

Dipper jumps out of his seat. He looks at the portrait again. Then he looks at Bill's bell and hammer. The bell's red crescent moon ornament shimmers. He looks away, resisting the urge to rush to Bill's aid. He could take care of himself, sure Pyronica might be up to something, but it wasn't like she could force Bill to fall back in love with her.

"Hu Dip." Mabel rushes in looking worried.

"I'm fine Sis really." He assured her.

Mabel winced. "You're about to not be." She said as she walked in, revealing that she was holding one of Ford's old books.

"What do you mean?" Dipper asked.

"Look I just wanted to find something to make you feel better about Bill going to this Ball." Mabel begin to explain. "So, I did a little research and I found this." She handed Dipper the Book: Phases of the Moon and Mystical Meanings. "It says the Crescent Blood Moon only happens every six hundred and sixty seven years, and that it has power."

Dipper read the page and gasped dropping the book. "I knew she was up to something!" He grabs the bell and slips on a demon mask that was lying around.

"What are you going to do?" Mabel asked.

"Get Bill. You stay here in case we don't come back." He ordered chiming the bell.

Mabel watched him enter the carriage and it sank back down to the depths below.

She could only hope that she would see it rise again.

(Back with Bill…)

Meanwhile at the Blood Moon Ball, a demon completely covered in a red cloak uses a camera. "Smile." he tells them.

Bill smiles and the picture is taken. It's the tenth hundredth one and he can't help but feel slightly annoyed. "Are we done yet?" He asked trying to sound up beat. "I want to get my party on."

"Just a few more." Pyronica assured him.

Bill suppressed a growl. "Py, these people have been waiting for almost an hour." He whispered gesturing to the other guest behind them.

"Just a few more." Pyronica pleaded once more.

Bill decided to put his foot down. "No, we've had enough."

Pyronica stifled groaning, reaches behind her back.

"What's your hand doing back there?" Bill demanded.

"Nothing." Pyronica claimed as he looked for himself.

Sarah is standing behind her holding up Carrot, which Pyronica is petting.

"Wait are you getting angry?" Bill asked.

"No." Pyronica lied. "I just want tonight to be perfect."

Bill knew what that meant, but rather then get mad at her he decided maybe Pyronica just needed some space from him. Her controlling ways were only easy to ignore with distance between them. Besides maybe a long event like a Ball had been too much for their first night out as friends anyway.

"Look, you do you, and I'm gonna get my groove on." Bill insisted as he stepped away to the dance floor.

Pyronica looks ready to explode but then an announcer begins to speak. "Ahem. Good evening, ladies, and gentlemen. It is my pleasure that I request you now to turn your heads skyward."

She squeals and makes her way back to Bill, and soon they are standing together looking up at the crescent-shaped opening in the hand-shaped skylight on the ballroom ceiling.

"When the light of the blood moon drabbles down and selects two lucky souls, binding them together for eternity in its hypnotic, ruby brodum."

"Whoa." Bill said.

The light of the blood moon covers the skylight opening as eerie organ music starts to play.

Bill looks to Pyronica and holds out his hand. "Care for a dance my lady?" He joked.

Pyronica moves to take his hand but stops. "Ugh! That's the wrong piece of music! This is gonna drive me crazy. Alright, don't go anywhere. I'll be right back."

Bill groans as she walks away. He could tell her control over the impulse to be controlling was fully slipping now. Still, he had faith that this would work out. She was trying he could tell, it was just going to take more time, and he was…okay with that. He liked Pyronica and really wanted this friendship to work out, and maybe who knows, maybe they could try dating again.

He began to walk forward feeling awkward standing still in the middle of the dance floor as other couples danced around him.

"Bill!" Someone calls his name and grabs his arm, pulling him; forcing him to turn around. Just then a red spotlight fell on them. The room filled with a chorus of gasped, but Bill and the mysterious stranger didn't notice, they were suddenly hypnotized by one another as they began to dance to the music.

Bill felt his heart swell, he didn't know what was going on, but he liked it. He took the lead for the most part, being a royal he wasn't allowed to be a wall flower. Not that he wanted to, the dance floor was his passion. He spun the stranger around, he was wearing a mask, but Bill didn't care, those dark chocolate brown eyes was enough to get lost in.

"Psst, Bill!" The stranger said.

His eyes widened. "You know my name?"

"It's me, Dipper!" Dipper exclaimed as he pulled off his mask. At first he had been terrified about all the monsters surrounding them, but once he saw Bill everything was okay. He was just glad that the Blood Moon didn't seem to be working on him. Maybe it was because he was human or maybe it was because he already knew he wasn't into Bill.

The latter must been the answer because as soon as Bill saw it was Dipper he was broken from the trance. "Pine Tree?"

Suddenly Dipper was pushed across the dance floor by Pyronica who then threw a fire ball at him. As Dipper dodged, Sarah tried to calm her down, but Pyronica pushed her out of the way too.

"That dance was for me!" She screamed and pounced for Dipper.

Bill waved his cane, freezing her in a block of ice. "Seriously?" He asked. "This is the Silver Bell Ball all over again!" He yelled at her. "I thought you changed, but Pine Tree was right, you will never change!"

Dipper reaches out to him, to comfort him, but Bill just stomps away.

"Let's go Pine Tree..." he grumbled.

Dipper follows him and soon they arriving back at the balcony of Bill's room; he threw his black gloves off.

"Oh, you guys had me worried." Mabel said, holding the blood moon bell. "I was about to go after you."

"Seriously?" Bill yelled. "Both of you!"

"She was going to use the blood moon to get you to fall in love with her." Dipper argued.

Bill explodes. "This is so infuriating!" he yelled.

Still, Dipper knew he wasn't talking about his ex, He sighed. "Mabes will you give us a minute." He tells her from the balcony.

Mabel nodded and left.

Bill looks out at the night sky too angry to even look at his best friend.

Dipper leans on the bars beside him facing the room. "I'm sorry Bill I just wanted to…"

"Protect me?" Bill asked.

"Yeah." Dipper said.

"Pines I'm 14 I can handle a love crazed demonic chick." He told him. "I know you're trying to look out for me, but you have to let me figure things out on my own. I don't need a hero. I need a friend."

Dipper looks at him feeling guilty, and their eyes meet. "You're right. I should've trusted you. I'm sorry I ruined your night."

"Well... it wasn't a total disaster." Bill admitted. "Now I know you can dance." He winks.

Dipper fells something deep inside of him swell at the gesture.

"Somethings missing." Bill says, and then he waves his cane, causing Dipper's Pine Tree hat to appear on his head.

"That's better." They said in unison. They gasped. "Whoa! We both said—! ...The same thing! ...Okay, stop that!"

Dipper and Bill jump away and cover their mouths. Bill points his cane at Dipper a warning look in his eyes.

And just like that they were laughing.

"Okay that was weird." Dipper admitted.

"Very." Bill agreed as they looked out beyond the balcony.

"So, we good?" Dipper asked.

"Yeah." Bill sighed.

Silence….It didn't last long.

"Now go make me some Nachos!" Bill demanded.

Dipper laughed, no doubt the demon could smell the ones he had earlier. "Yeah okay." He moves to do so.

Bill follows, moments later a soft female's voice says once more.

"The moon of lovers…"
