A/N: Sorry this chapter is a little late, I was too tired to post it last night.

Without further ado, let's move on to the reviews and what matters most: the prompt!

Don't worry, it's not an offensive question at all! I happen to be autistic myself, and I never really thought about Chris possibly having autism, since I've always tried to write him as neurotypical in the past, or at least as close to it as I could. But now that you mention it and I look back at him, I guess Chris does fit in the spectrum! That would explain to an extent why he is so clingy to his friends because he doesn't like when things break his routines. That's actually a really great idea!

That could be interesting to explore in detail sometime.

Yeah... Motion sickness can be quite unexpected, and it's even scarier for someone like Chris because there's no way he can stop it.

Super duper waffles

I haven't read them quite yet, but I'll start reading the next chapter today after I post this chapter, and I'll leave my thoughts!

Day Six: Not Realizing They're Injured
Prompt: Not Realizing They're Injured

"Run, Chris!" Amy shouted as the sounds of laser fire echoed all around them in the forest.

"Wh-Where?!" Chris panicked, looking around for a safe place.

"I don't know! Back to the X-Tornado, anywhere, just not here!"

"We'll cover you!" Sonic called before kicking the nearest Badniks away.

"Okay!" Chris said before he turned and ran as fast as he could away from his friends. He could only hope they could cover him, because he felt like he was wide open for an attack.

So how did he get in this situation?

Tails had detected a Chaos Emerald in the middle of a forest in Tennessee, and he had landed there with his friends to try to find it. However, they had no idea that it was in fact a trap set by Dr. Eggman; he had found the Emerald first. And now they were caught in the midst of an ambush.

Tails and Knuckles were fighting off a horde of Badniks in another part of the forest, while Sonic, Amy, and Cream were covering for Chris nearby.

Chris stumbled over the underbrush and twisted roots, nearly tripping over one of the roots that protruded well into his path. There were also many fallen leaves, not to mention the lighting was not in his favor. Not only was it considerably darker than it was outside the forest, but the sun was in his eyes, which made it harder to run.

And then he realized, there was a chance that he might not make it to the X-Tornado because Tails had the key to unlock it, and even if he did make it inside, he would just be a sitting duck anyway. So he figured running was better than staying anywhere.

Suddenly he heard the sound of engines from behind him. He realized Eggman found him, which only spurred him on to run faster. He didn't dare look behind him, but he was scared.

Or was he?

Maybe he didn't have time to be scared. His adrenalin levels were very high, and his only focus was escaping.

He could hear the robots opening fire at him, but he didn't seem to react as he kept running, making sure his every step was well positioned so he wouldn't fall and inevitably be captured. One of the lasers pierced through his shirt near the right side, but he couldn't bring himself to stop.

More lasers pelted the trees around him, sending shreds of bark and splinters everywhere, and to make matters worse, the robots were getting closer. Right as they were about to reach him, a bolt of blue shot in from behind and smashed the robots. Chris didn't even see what kind they were before they were destroyed.

"Those guys gave me a good workout there!" Sonic quipped. "You good, Chris?"

"I… I think so…" Chris panted, leaning against a tree. He didn't realize he was shaking until now, since the adrenalin was starting to wear off.

"Chris… Are you… you're bleeding," Sonic pointed out.

"I am?"

"Yeah, look down at your right side, there's blood everywhere."

It only took a second, but now Chris was staring in shock at where he was now bleeding from where he had been shot with one of the Badnik's lasers. Thanks to the adrenalin, he barely felt the pain, but now blood was starting to soak into his shirt. He didn't dare touch the wound, because that would only result in making it worse, but he trusted that his friends would figure something out and patch him up before he got back in the air.

"C'mon, let's get back to the X-Tornado," Sonic urged, and Chris followed him, still shaking. The hedgehog reached his hand out to him, and Chris took it as they continued up the embankment.

"Did you guys get the Chaos Emerald?" Chris asked.

"Nope," Sonic said with a shake of his head. "That Eggman was too fast for us, took off with it at the last second. We'll get it next time though, we always do. But first… we gotta get that injury of yours patched up."

Chris nodded before proceeding back in the direction where he last saw Amy and Cream. The sounds of fighting seemed to have died down for the most part, which to Chris meant the battle had finally ended. Chris didn't realize how far he had run; he must have run a good three hundred feet by the time Sonic caught up with him, which was impressive considering how thick the underbrush of the forest was. He hadn't even discovered a natural pathway.

He realized he didn't have time to get scared. He was focused on running, and now he didn't realize how much danger he had been in. He wasn't overly scared now, and even more amazingly, he didn't feel a lot of pain, but it did sting where he was shot. He was, however, just a bit anxious at the thought of getting patched up. He realized it could take a while considering it was an open wound combined with a burn wound, and he couldn't say he was looking forward to it.

A/N: That concludes day 6! "Healed wrong" and "It's not my blood" felt like they would have been both outside my comfort zone and tough to think of prompts to do, and I originally started this day working on "Unhealthy coping mechanisms", but I saw that my drabble fit a better prompt and moved it, and I restarted Day 6 with "Not Realizing They're Injured".

Tomorrow's theme is "Only For Emergencies!"
