Author Notes: Sorry for the long silence new job has given me little time to do the things I like, like writing. Took some time off to catch up, hoping to have at least one new chapter for each of my stories. Hope you enjoy this new chapter and if you do please review."
(Back with Dipper…)
Dipper still wasn't convinced this was such a good idea, and yet here they were.
He grimaced as Mabel shrilled happily with her friends; they were currently sitting on the floor giving each other makeovers.
"There. What do you think?" Janna asked as she hands her a mirror.
Dipper pears into the bathroom to see that rainbows have been drawn on her cheeks using only the colors black and gray. With crossbones skulls underneath like clouds.
"I love it!" Mabel shrieked.
"Still think this was a good idea?" Dipper asked.
"Pine Tree, this party is supposed to mash all our friends together." Bill insisted.
"Okay, Teeth get in there." Dipper gave the large teeth demon a shove.
"No way, do I look psychotic?" Teeth shakes his head furiously.
"Me next, me next, me next!" Candy exclaimed pushing her way in.
"Fun sleepover, huh, guys?" Mabel asked.
"I think so." Kelly said. She was the only one of Bill's demon friends that was brave enough to join the makeover festivities. She currently had her long hair in huge braids that seemed to be defying gravity as they sticked straight up.
"Best sleepover ever!" Grenda declared.
"Look Shooting Star don't get me wrong, but when you said party we were expecting well you know a party." Bill tried to explain.
"I told you guys; Mabel sleepovers are not you speed." Dipper tried to explain for the ten thousandth time. "It's not a rave, or a dance a party you can crash."
"It sounded good on paper." Keyhole said. "Snacks and games, and horrifying movies."
"Oh, they are horrifying." Dipper snickered. "Horrifyingly colorful." He holds up the flashy screen of Dream Boys High.
"AH my eyes!" Hector screams. "I've been blinded by color."
"Okay, so maybe the usual girl stuff isn't for everyone." Mabel admitted.
"Look we can still save this." Bill insisted as he ushered everyone to the kitchen. "Look Red and I made brownies."
"Sup guys." Windy gave them a wink as she pulled the brownies out of the oven.
Dipper goes rigid. "Bill" He grabs him by the shirt. "You invited Windy!"
"Of course, I did." Bill answered with a shrug. "We agreed, we're inviting all our friends, Our goal? Get them to get to know each other so we can all hang as one big group. Windy is my friend, one of the few I still have." He sighed, he still missed the adoring praise of his fellow classmates, but Mina's talk about demons had not gone away if it had maybe everyone would have forgotten his little "stunt" already.
"Bill, you're trying too hard." Dipper tried to reason, "Remember the last time you tried to force your friends to like me?" He asked. "I do, I got picked on and be little'd right before getting bound and interrogated."
"Awe come on, I thought we got passed this." Paci-Fire insisted.
"Nope, I'm a Pines, we hold grudges forever." Dipper informed him.
"Dude, that's cold." Kelly says. "I love it!"
"It's all going to be fine...well hopefully." Bill added.
"Hopefully?" Mabel asked, sounding slightly concern.
"I never made brownies before." Bill admitted. "I used real magic sprinkles."
"Who dares to eat the first one?" Teeth taunted.
No one budges, not even Windy who supposedly helped.
"Oh, let me see one already." Dipper said, sounding exacerbated as he takes one.
Everyone stifles a laugh, making him realize he's played right into their hand, not wanting to look like a wus and back down he takes a bite. "Mmm!" He says trying to hide a look of obvious disgust.
"So good, right?" Windy asked.
Dipper nodded to busy trying to keep the food down to answer.
"Eat up guys." Bill declares and his friends take one, before giving it a nibble and giving a big thumbs up. All but Mabel who is unable too get one before Grnda starts stuffing more down. Bill smiles, nothing like a good snack to bring friends together.
"Yes!" Grenda eats as many as possible as the other's cheer her on.
"Grenda! Grenda! Grenda! Grenda!"
"See no one's getting interrogated." Bill said.
"Yet." Dipper teased.
Bill gives him a look.
"Oh, come on, you know I like them." Dipper reasoned. "Yeah it took a while for them to grow on me, but their style is just a bit…much." Dipper added.
"Relax man we can take anything these demons can dish out." Windy assured him. "Right Janna."
"Totally." Janna agreed.
"Well then…" Kelly looks serious as she digs something out of her hair. "It's game time, "She laughs "And since you obviously love the thrills I got the perfect game for you."
"Bring it!" Windy shouted.
Kelly pulls at a glowing blue-green cube. "Wela!"
"It's a box." Dipper pointed out dumbly.
"It's called Truth or Punishments." Kelly declares. "It's all about telling your friends your deepest, darkest secrets."
"And I'm out." Dipper says before he runs away.
"And the fun police has left the building." Paci-Fire laughs.
"He's got it bad." Kelly giggles.
"Just give me one second." Bill assures them. "Dipper!" He runs after him.
"So, this is normal?" Keyhole asked.
"What Dipper running away?" Mabel asked.
"Yeah I just thought he ran from us cause we were demons and all." Teeth reasoned.
"No Dipper's just allergic to fun." Janna teased.
"He can be fun." Windy insisted. "Remember when we were twelve and broke into the Dusk to Dawn?"
"Dusk to Dawn?" Kelly asked.
"It's a haunted convenience store that use to be on the edge of town before they tore it down." Janna explained. "Robby wanted to go and fool around, but Dipper said it was haunted and we should stay away."
"Of course, we didn't, and he had to save us from a bunch of ghosts." Windy explained.
"Doctor fun times." Mabel laughed. "I ate so much expired smile Dip I puke all over Grunkle Stan when we got home."
The group laughs.
Meanwhile Bill catches up to Dipper. "Pine tree, why don't you wanna play?"
"The game litterly has the word punishment in it!" Dipper explained. "Besides I just think maybe some things are better kept secret."
"Oh, it's just a game, besides friends don't keep secrets." Bill insisted.
"Oh Dipper, come play with us." Janna gives a villainous laugh.
"Yeah Dipper. Come share secrets." Windy agreed.
Dipper laughs nervously.
"He's coming." Bill said as he pulls him with him as they rejoin their friends.
"I hate you." Dipper whispered.
"I know you mean love." Bill sang.
"Okay, it's supposed to ask three questions." Kelly began to explain the rules. "Each one harder than the last, and all we do is answer them. So..." She claps her hands together and the lights go out. The cube starts to float and glow brighter.
"Deceit and fables, lies and fiction, even with complete conviction. If truth is absent from these events, all will face the punishments." The Cube declares.
"What does that mean?" Candy asked.
"It means if you lie to him, something bad will happen." Janne said all spooky like.
"But not too bad right?" Dipper asked. "I mean we promised Uncle Ford we wouldn't be too rowdy while they were out."
"It will be fine." Bill assured him. The Stans were out searching for any sign that Toffee and Tad head returned to Earth, so far they had found nothing, but they were obviously being paranoid and decided to look again.
The cube expands to reveal a mouth. "Pledge an oath of truth. Pinky swear to me." It demands.
"Okay." Bill puts his pinkie in the cube's mouth. "I promise to tell the truth."
His friends take turns doing the same once the last promise was made by Dipper the cube rolled it's tongue back in.
"It's time for Truth or Punishments…The first question…"
Everyone looks tense as the cube spins for a question.
"What is... your... favorite color?" Even the Cube sounds surprised by its own words.
"Uh, Kelly?" Bill asked
Oh, the first one is supposed to be really easy." Kelly assured all of them.
"The next one's probably something interesting." Teeth added. "Like, have you ever killed a man. Mm, actually, that's still easy."
Dipper gives him a horrified look.
"Well go on Kelly answer!" Mabel insisted.
"Oh, right Kelly color. Done." Kelly exclaimed.
"What?" Candy asked.
"It's a very popular color in the Demon Realm." Bill explained. "Shooting Star?"
"Purple." Mabel answers.
"Mine too!" Grenda exclaimed.
"Uh, Bill, what's your favorite color?" Windy asked as if it weren't obvious.
"Uh, I have to go with gold." Bill answered.
Candy gasped "Me too, well yellow actually, but it's close."
Bill gasped grasping his chest. "My heart." Everyone laughs at his antics. "To say yellow and gold is the same…. I'm dead, your words have killed me."
Candy giggles. "Well, that was easy."
"Windy?" Dipper asked, mustering up the courage to talk to her.
"Neon green." She answered. "How about you?"
"Well, I like red." He said.
"Blood red?" Janna said in a creepy voice.
"Uh... no. Just like, my shirt, this red." Dipper pointed at his shirt.
"Me too." Hector revealed.
"See you guys have So much in common." Bill insisted.
"Well, I'm with Janna, I like Blood red." Paci-Fire declared.
"Well, I actually like black." Janna spoke up.
"I had no idea!" Dipper says with fake shock as he gestures to her outfit which is all black.
"Oh, black is my second favorite." Windy said.
"Black is pretty cool." Bill agreed.
The room is suddenly filled with red light.
"Someone is lying." The cube sends out a blast of red lightning which tickles everyone in the room. They all start uncontrollably laughing.
"Whoever lied, speak up." Bill begged.
Okay…okay!" Janna cried "I love pink. It's my favorite."
The room is filled with green light. "Truth." The cube cried.
They all look at her…shocked "Pink⁈"
"Yeah, I pretend to hate it, because I just hate contributing to gender stereotypes." Jana admitted.
Suddenly The cube expanse; segregating Bill 's room from the rest of the house by sealing it inside itself with sides that look like circuit boards.
"This is awesome!" Janna exclaimed.
"Yeah." Dipper said walking around the new space "It's like we're inside the game."
"Second question." The cube announced. "What did you... really... think of... Bill 's brownies?"
"Pshh. Easy." Bill said. "Kelly you're games broken; Everybody obviously loved my brownies."
Kelly gulped "Okay yes, they were very um, whatchamacallit, very good, right guys?" She asked.
"Yeah they were great." Janna agreed.
Windy laughed uneasily "Yep. Good brownies Bill!"
Mabel looks sad. "Actually, I didn't have a brownie, so I guess I missed out."
"Oh, that's too bad right Dipper, because they were great, right Dipper?" Kelly demanded.
Dipper looks at Bill who gives him a hopeful look. "OH, Yea it was the best-" His face starts to inflate like a balloon.
"Dipper?" Bill looks startled.
"Yeah. Delicious." Janna's face also inflates. The others follow suit.
"What is happening to us?" Keyhole demanded.
"Someone is lying. And this is what lies look like on the inside." The Cube spat.
They all scream.
"Wait. Who didn't like my brownies?" Bill asked.
For a moment no one says a thing which starts to make them inflate even more.
"Okay. Fine. Sorry Bill, I lied. Those were, like, the worst brownies ever." Kelly cried.
"Okay, I lied too. Those brownies tasted like dirt." Grenda admitted. "I only kept eating them to spare your feelings."
"If I had a stomach, I would be very sick inside of the stomach." Paci-Fire agrees.
Bill looks to Dipper hopefully. "Pine Tree?"
"Sorry Bill, I was just being a good sport, they tasted like…tar." He squeezed his eyes shut, too ashamed to look at his best friend.
"Truth." The cube revealed.
Everyone turns back to normal.
"Okay, I don't wanna play this game anymore." Bill declared.
"Yeah. I'm sorry I brought this stupid game now." Kelly admitted. "Sorry we lied to you Bill."
"Yeah were only trying to be nice, you worked so hard on them" Windy reasoned.
"It's okay, we tried the whole slumber party thing, but turns out Pines was right, this isn't our scene…sorry Shooting Star."
"Oh, it's fine." Mabel assured him. "Let's just go to the Bounce Lounge."
"Good idea girl." Kelly agreed. As they try to exit, the exit door pushes all of them back into the room.
"Nobody leaves until you answer the final question." The Cube warns.
"Oh yeah I forgot, we can't forfeit; we have to finish the game." Kelly realized.
"Seriously?" Bill rolled his eyes. "Fine Cube, what do you got?"
The Cube gives the final question. "Who do you... have a... crush on?"
"And I'm out." Dipper tried to run.
Windy grabs his hand. "Come on, we can do this. Let's just answer and end this." They all follow her lead and hold hands. "Go ahead, game. We're ready."
The cube walks up to Windy "Who do you have a crush on?"
"Okay, this really cute guy from skate camp last summer. I don't even remember his name, but he was really nice."
They all awed.
"See? That was easy. Okay, now you go Dipper." She insisted.
"I say who goes next." The Cube declared "And I say Bill goes next."
"Well Janna, obviously, even though we found out we're better as friends I'm still crushing." Bill said.
Janna gave him a playful punch. "Stop you're gonna make me blush, but same."
"You guys and your sappiness sicken me." Teeth says.
"And your crush is?" The Cube asked.
"Myself, obviously." Teeth answers.
"Does that count?" Candy asked.
"Sure, how about you?" Hector asked.
"Jackie Chan." She said shyly.
"Mee Too!" Grenda exclaimed.
"Kelly?" The Cube asked.
"Well, if we're really being honest here, and we're gonna be vulnerable, I just have to admit it and say, it's…. TAD!"
"Bill's uncle?" Mabel exclaimed.
"No ew!" Kelly shouted.
"I agree, yuck Mabel." Bill says. "She means her ex, who unfortunately has the same name."
"Yeah and I think I'm getting back together with him." Kelly admitted.
"Again Girl?" Hector asked. "There are better guys then that lazy slob."
"Like whom?" Kelly asked.
"Like me!" Hector yelled.
"Dude? You like Kelly?" Dipper asked.
"We talked about this." Kelly said. "I don't date friends, it ruins the dynamic, what if it doesn't work out? We'd hate each other! It would be Bill and Pyronica all over again…" She winces. "No offense man." She said looking to Bill.
"None taken." Bill assured her.
"Speaking of Pyronica." Paci-fire gives a loud cough. "I uh…"
"No, really?" Bill asked.
"Yeah sorry boss you know I like Fire types." Paci-Fire explains.
Bill shrugs. "You could have told me man."
Paci-Fire shrugs… "Better late than never."
"In that case." Keyhole pipped up. "I also must confess my love to her, sister."
"Pyronica has a sister?" Dipper asked, trying to not to let the fear overtake him. One of Py was enough, but a sister?
"Oh, Violet is way more mellow man." Keyhole tried to explain.
Nothing like Py." Bill agreed.
Dipper felt relieved.
"Mabel Pines?" The Cube asked.
"Oscar obviously." Mabel said proudly.
Janna smiles wickedly "Well, I think we all know who is next!"
Dipper looks around hopefully..."Uh..."
The Cube approached him "Okay Dipper Pines. Your crush?"
"Oh Dipper, you don't have to..." Bill told him.
Dipper takes a deep breath. "No. It's... it's fine. Ugh. Okay. My crush... my crush is on Windy." He points to her. "That Windy."
Windy is stunned. "What? Dipper I…"
"It's cool…" He can't meet her eyes his face is so red.
The room is filled with red light. "Somebody lied big time!" The cube starts emitting lightning.
Bill screams "Who lied⁈ Janna, was it you again?"
"No" Janna assured him "I haven't moved on yet!" She cried. "There I said it!"
Bill smiles. "Yeah me either."
"Mine is a cute guy from skate camp." Windy shouted.
"And I love Oskar Greason." Mabel yelled.
"Jackie Chan!" Candy and Grenda yelled.
"And I love Tad!" Kelly Cried.
"Dipper!" Keyhole insisted.
"I told you; I have a crush on Windy." Dipper said "At least I think I do. But what does that really mean? I've put her on this sort of pedestal. So, do I like the image of her or who she really is? I mean, I like her enough to know that she deserves someone who wants to get to know her, which is definitely me." Dipper rambles.
Windy smiles.
"Wow…" The cube sounds shocked. "I always get to the truth, but that... kudos, really. But you weren't the one who lied!" it screamed as it turns into a monster, laughs evilly, and prepares to attack.
"Don't worry guys. I got this." Bill said, "He blasts the monster, but it does nothing. The floor raises Bill higher up, and he screams.
"Bill!" Dipper yells as the rest of them start to shoot up towards the celling.
"Hold your seats." Kelly warned.
"No Jump!" Dipper yelled. "Bill Jump!"
Bill Jumps and swoops down to catch his friends. The room continues to shift as everyone holds on to him. Bill struggles to hold them all above the chaos. A platform moves, and they all crash down in a pile. The monster laughs and goes in for the kill.
"Stop!" Mabel declared grabbing it's attention "What did we do to deserve this?"
The monster grows "Lies are a plague, A virus, A weed. And to stop a weed...You must kill the roots."
"But it's not really lying." Mabel said.
"Huh?" everyone, including the monster looks confused.
"Sometimes, you don't know what you think. Your head and your heart disagree." Mabel explained. "Like Janna, she hates gender stereotypes but loves Pink, it's contradicting. You think you know how you feel about something, but then it changes. Kelly, ask me my favorite color."
"You already said it. It's Purple." Kelly reminded her.
"Ask me again." Mabel says.
"Okay What's your favorite color?" Kelly asked.
"Right now? Blue." Mabel says.
The room turns green, indicating the speaks the truth.
"Wait! Stop it! You can't change your mind?" The cube yelled.
"Of course, we can. Opinions and feels change and grow like we do." Mabel explained. "Our experiences can change how we feel, quick Windy who do you have a crush on?"
Windy looks at Dipper unsure. "Uh... I don't... I don't know anymore." She admitted.
Dipper gives her a smile.
"No!" the cube screams.
"You think that everything is black and white, but it's not. It's a bunch of different colors, a rainbow of feelings that's always changing."
"Stop please." The cube monster spins violently, turning back into its original cube form, but now it's black and damaged.
"Mabes, that was amazing!" Dipper praised.
"Thank you, but what do we do with it now?" Mabel asked as they all looked to the spoking cube.
"I know just the thing." Bill said.
Moments later the friends are cheering as Bill throws it in the trash.
"Good riddance!" Kelly declared as the sun began to rise.
"Well guess that ends the sleepover." Mabel says with a sigh.
"Told you it would go south." Dipper said nudging Bill.
"Oh, it wasn't so bad." Windy said. "It was kind of exciting, plus we learned a lot about each other."
"Uh yeah, well…" He turns as red as a tomato as he realizes what she is getting at. Oh man he told everyone including her... "And I'm gone!" He runs back into the shack.
The demons laugh. "Look at him run." Teeth snickered.
"Thanks for coming to my sleepover." Mabel tells them. "Sorry it was a bust."
"You kidding me right? That's the most chaos I've seen since Bill dumped Py." Keyhole said. "No offense Boss." He added.
"None taken." Bill said, though he sounded slightly annoyed.
"Thanks for the invite." Windy waves goodbye and soon everyone disperses.
"Man, I'm hungry." Mabel says as she goes inside.
"Me too, Pines make me some morning breakfast burritos!" Bill demanded.
"Nah. Not today, Bill…" Dipper's yell can be heard from his open window. "I'm gonna go catch up on some Z's."
"Pines…Pine Tree!" Bill yells. "Dipper Pines!" He shouts.
Suddenly, the Cube springs to life at the sound of Dipper's name. "Truth!" It declares. "Bill Cipher has a crush on..."
"Oh no you don't." Bill yells with a flick of his wrist.
The trashcan rose and slams down on the cube, crushing it. He sighs in relief as he goes inside; turns out Dipper was right; some secrets should remain untold!
