The next morning Felix and Adrien went to school. They were currently sitting in science class. The teacher rambled on and on about stuff that Felix did not care about. He was never the kind of person who liked school. He found himself looking at the clock on the wall every five minutes. It felt like this class was taking forever. Adrien on the other hand was really smart and liked school to Felix's confusion. Who liked school anyway? He looked over at his one and only cousin who was listening intently and writing down notes. Felix could hear whispering that was coming from right behind them. Marinette and Alya were murmuring back and forth to each other. "So, Marinette when is Adrien's next magazine coming out?" Marinette whispered back, "Sometime next week. I can't wait to see all ofGabriel's new styles. I always look forward to his new designs." Alya smirked as she said, "And you always look forward to staring at Adrien's pictures in the magazine." Marinette blushed in embarrassment, "Alya!" She said a bit louder. "What? It's true though." Marinette buried her face in her hands as her elbows rested on the desk. Alya continued to talk, "I heard Adrien has a photo shoot at the park later today. I'm sure you will want to go watch itso you can see Gabriel's new designs." Alya said the last part while putting air quotation marks around it. Felix rolled his eyes. Alya does not know this but Felix calls her Alya the instigator. She's part of the reason forMarinette's behavior and Felix knows it. She is always trying to put Marinette in these insanely awkward situations with Adrien. It irritates Felix to death. The end of class was finally here and the teacher said, "Allalright class is dismissed." Everyone began to gather their things. Adrien was out the door quickly. Felix took more time to gather his things. Alya continued to talk as she gathered her things too. "So, you want to go to the park? I'll come with youif you want. I know you want to stare at Adrien." Felix had just had enough of this. He is so over the stalking and everything else they do. Felix has no idea why Marinette feels the need to stalk his cousin. Felix in a fit of anger slammed his books on the desk as he was staking them to put them into his bag. He slammed them so loud that both girls jumped at the sudden noise. They were the only three people left in the class so no one else witnessed Felix's outburst. Felix aggressively put his things into his bag and stormed out of the class.
Marinette and Alya were frozen for a few moments as they watched Felix storm out of the room. Marinette was the first to act though. She ran out after him and caught him in the hall. "Felix," Marinette called out. The blonde boy in question turned on his heels to face the blue-eyed girl. "Is something wrong? You seem very the problem is I'm sure it can be fixed." Marinette feels as though Felix hates her. She was hoping that she could build some sort of friendship with Felix. His eyes narrowed as he stepped forward. He looked Marinette straight in the eyes as he said, "The problem Marinette is you!" You could hear a pen drop in the dead silence that filled the room after his words were spoken. Marinette took a coupleof steps back as she replied. "What did I do?" Felix chuckled but it lacked amusement. "What did you do? That's the questions you are going to ask? You know what you did and have been doing!" Felix yelled at her towards the end of his sentence. Marinette was taken aback by his outburst. She has known for some time that Felix does not like her, but she could not figure out why. This was her opportunity to get some answers. "You are not being very clear Felix by just saying I know what I did." Felix turned the tables on her by saying, "Oh really. You don't know what you did. How about that conversation with Alya or all the other times you have talked about Adrien." Marinette's blood ran cold. He could hear their conversation. Does he think they were talking bad about him? Marinette thought this could easily be cleared up. "Oh no, Felix, you have it all wrong. We were not speaking ill of Adrien. We were just…" Before she could finish Felix cut her off. "I know you were not speaking badly of him you never do. I'm talking about the creepy conversations you have with Alya about stalking my cousin. Marinette froze completely at that. Felix continued, "And not just the conversations, I'm talking about the physical stalking part too. I am so tired of hearing about it and seeing it. You know if you ever want to be with Adrien then I suggest you clean up your act because Adrien will never be with someone who has unhealthy coping mechanisms." Marinette felt a burst of anger. "What do you mean unhealthy coping mechanisms?" Felix answered the question, "I mean unhealthy coping mechanisms for a relationship Marinette. What are you going to do when he goes to work follow him? Are you going to go through his phone to make sure he's not doing something you don't want him to do? Are you going to follow him everywhere he goes? Are you going to watch all his social media accounts? I mean you already do most of the things I mentioned. Those things are so unhealthy it's insane. You guys are not even in a relationship and you are acting like a psycho girlfriend who can't leave her man alone. You have a lot to figure out before you could ever be in a relationship." Marinette was lost for words. She had no idea what to even say. How can she even respond to that? They stood in the hall staring at each other for what felt like hours but itwas only a few moments. Marinette began to tear up as she gazed at Felix who wore a firm expression. "Is that way you hate me?" Marinette asked in a shy voice. Felix's expression softened the slightest bit. He did not answer that. He suddenly changed the subject slightly. "Why do you love Adrien." Marinette was confused by the question. Why did he ask that all of a sudden? Marinette began to list everything she loved about him. "He is so smart and kind. He's calm, collected, serious, professional, and confident. Adrien always lends a helping hand. He is willing to help anyone. This one time it was raining, and Adrien gave me his umbrella. It was such a magical moment. That was the moment I fell in love with him." Marinette confessed to Felix what she loved about him. She looked into Felix's eyes. She could not read his expression. He has a very good poker face. Felix shook his head slightly. "Marinette, this is what I feared. You only see the surface. You don't know Adrien deep down on the inside. You only see what's on the magazines. You only see Adrien from afar. Adrien does not let people in easily. There are many people who wear their hearts on their sleeves and are willing to tell you many things about them. Adrien is a different case. You act like you know everything about him but you don't. I know that from the way you just described him." Marinette looked at Felix with confusion. "Many people like each other without knowing them first. How can you know someone really well until you have been in a relationship of at least some kind? Are you saying I can't be in a relationship with Adrien because I don't know him well? So, I have to know a lot about him to get to date him? Felix answered back, "In most cases Marinette you don't need to know someone well to date them or to have feelings for them. Adrien's case is completely different. He is a famous model. Many people are going to have crushes on him. Let me tell you, it's not because they like him. It's because he is rich and famous. That's why I'm saying you need to know him. Your perception of him is a professional, serious, calm, and collected person. That's Adrien when he's on magazines and on the catwalk. You need to delete everything you think you know about him and get to know him for who he truly is. Then tell me if you have feelings for him." Marinette was shaken up by this conversation. She was not sure what to say or do after that. They went back to silence. They just stared at one another for a few minutes. Marinette was about to speak again when a loud explosion was heard and people were screaming. Marinette and Felix both ran towards the exit to see what was happening outside.
