It looks like the more people we lead to the truth, the more aggressive the opposing side becomes.
I knew it wouldn't be easy. And I intend to keep my promise, so says Sailor Moon!
"Kids!" Sailor Moon said, but the armed young ones didn't respond. "Ugh, what gives?" She said before she started walking towards the kids.
"Sailor Moon!" Tuxedo Mask said before grabbing ahold of the Moon Princess.
"Let go of me!" Sailor Moon said while struggling.
"Calm down, Sailor Moon, this is dangerous." Tuxedo Mask said.
"Kids, it's me! It's Sailor Moon!"
"That's no use." came a female voice.
"Huh?" Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask said.
Mio then appeared at Leon's left side in a flash of violet light, with no surprise reaction from him or any of the kids, as if people appearing out of nowhere was nothing new.
"Mio?!" Sailor Moon said.
"The children you see standing before you are no longer the young ones they were when they first came here." Mio began. "Re-educated by the New World Religion, they are now the strongest soldiers for the Global Community. They are...the GC Spy Kids."
Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask just glared at Mio.
"Hm." said Mio, with an evil smirk forming on her face.
Joey, Mercury and Jupiter ran over to where the kids were. "Get ready!" He said before grabbing a vine that was tide to something while Reese and the other pre-teens bent down, getting in position, with the teens just standing around to watch the end-results.
The 10-year old boy ran up to the Starlights. "Come on, he's coming, go!"
"Star Serious Laser!"
"Star Sensitive Inferno!"
"Star Gentle Uterus!"
The Starlights fired their attacks at Hasan, hitting him. While the attacks didn't kill him, they did, however, badly injure him.
Hasan staggered backwards a few feet, unknowingly placing his left foot in the noose of a vine.
"Go, go!" The 10-year old said as he ran off.
Joey pulled the vine and suddenly the noose tide itself around Hasan's left ankle and pulled both of his legs out from under him, suspending him in the air upside-down.
Joey was pulling the vine while Reese, the 10-year old boy and the other few pre-teens in the group held a long log in their arms that was tied to the vine and began pulling Hasan up higher and higher until he was hanging from a tree.
"Yeah, you did it!" Mercury said.
"Yes!" Jupiter added. For just kids, these children were really smart. Joey especially, since this was all his idea.
"Let me down!" Hasan said.
"This is it, Hasan. The end of the line." Joey said, looking up at Hasan with Mercury and Jupiter.
"Let me down you brats! Now!" Hasan ordered.
"Game over." Mercury taunted.
"You lose." Jupiter added.
"Over, huh?" Hasan asked.
"Now you're going to be our prisoner." Fighter said as she and the other two Starlights walked over to the gang, with the three Sailor Stars looking up at the man.
Hasan reached into his right pants-pocket and got out a pocket-knife. "I don't think so."
Joey's eyes went wide along with Mercury's, Jupiter's and the Sailor Stars'. Hasan began sawing at the vine tide around his left ankle with the pocket-knife.
"Run!" Joey said.
Hasan kept sawing at the vine until he managed to cut it.
"Run!" Healer said.
Hasan landed on the ground.
"Let's go!" Maker said before she, the other four Senshi and the kids all took off running, fleeing deeper into the jungle.
Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask faced off against Leon and Mio.
"What do you mean?! What are you two talking about?! What are you doing to these kids?!" Sailor Moon asked.
"It's not what we're doing to them...it's more of what they're doing to themselves." Mio answered.
"What?!" Sailor Moon asked.
"They're creating a new generation of children: GC Spy Kids. And they're the future of the new world." Mio explained.
"These kids are not spies! You have no right to do this to them! Now undo whatever it is you've done to them right now!" Sailor Moon yelled.
"I don't know anything about this GC Spy Kids project of your's, but are you really willing to risk these children's lives so you can promote the New World Religion for as much popularity as possible?" Tuxedo Mask said.
"Hm. That is what we adults call "doing business"." Leon said.
"I won't allow you two to use these kids for your own personal gain, and I'm gonna stop you!" Sailor Moon said.
"Stop us? How?" Leon asked before he and Mio walked over to the right side of the room, getting out of kids' way, then turned to view the scene that was about to play out before them.
"Do it now, Spy Kids." Mio ordered.
All of the kids nodded and then fired their guns at Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.
Mr. Stein would see about Immen getting Judd to the airport in Bamako. By early Wednesday, Judd and Mr. Stein arrived at the camp of the enemy tribe.
They had driven to a river and floated in a small boat with the leader and a few others who came with them. After docking, they hiked to the camp. Several times they heard weird birdcalls. 'Those are the scouts sending signals," Immen said. "They will be waiting for us."
"Are you sure about this?" Judd asked Mr. Stein.
"God has not called us to be careful. He has called us to give the message."
A group from the enemy tribe had met Judd and the others at the edge of the camp. Judd noticed freshly dug graves nearby and wondered if these people had died from the freeze.
"I know even less of this language," Immen said.
A fierce-looking man from the tribe yelled at them. The others nodded and spoke in agreement. Judd closed his eyes, sure that they would soon be surrounded and killed. But the next voice Judd heard was Mr. Stein's. "We come on behalf of the Prince of Peace," Mr. Stein said.
Judd could tell the men were amazed that someone was speaking their own language. A crowd from the village gathered. Before long, hundreds were listening to the gospel message. When he finished, Mr. Stein invited the tribe to pray with him. People knelt and lifted their eyes toward heaven. Many wept.
The villagers repeated Mr. Stein's words, though Judd heard what sounded to him like gibberish. When he was finished, Mr. Stein invited the leader of the first tribe to greet the enemy tribe leader. He pointed out the mark of the true believer on their foreheads, and they were both amazed. Two men who had been sworn enemies only minutes before hugged and smiled. Then they hugged Mr. Stein. "You are to take this message of love and forgiveness to all who need to hear it," Mr. Stein said.
They would be spending a few more days so that Mr. Stein could train the new evangelists before the pilot who brought them there would fly them back to Bamako on Sunday in hopes of getting a flight to Israel. They'd asked Lionel and Sam to meet them at the airport by then.
However Mr. Stein intended to stay a little while longer so it would only be Judd who would be returning. Thanks to a very fortunate discovery in the belltower, those in the school house would be able to wire the plane fare to Israel.
Vicki went back to the study room, where the kids watched the latest on the falling object. It had landed without doing any damage. The head of GCASA was back at a news conference to explain. "The point of impact is in a remote area near the border of Syria and Iraq," the man said. "We have not been able to locate the object in our aerial studies. It appears to have slipped past the earth's surface into a deep crevice."
A reporter shot up a hand. "Sir, can't you get teams in there to find it and study it?"
"It's impossible to get a vehicle in that area or even get a team in there on foot. Our main concern is what might have been done to the earth's crust. We haven't been able to detect a problem at this point, but we want to make sure."
Suddenly Vicki and the others felt a tremor. The schoolhouse shook slightly, and then all was calm.
"Did you feel that?" Lenore said as she ran in with her baby. "It's not another earthquake, is it?"
The head of GCASA was handed a piece of paper from an aide. "I've just received this report and won't be able to answer any ques-tions. It says there's been an eruption near the place where the object fell. We have data from different countries coming in that say their sensors went off the scale a few moments ago. Our pilots monitoring the area were blown off course and forced to escape the area."
The GCASA leader quickly exited the news conference with reporters screaming questions. A few minutes later, pictures from a news flight showed the beginning of a mush-room cloud a thousand times bigger than anything seen in history. "We are now told," a news anchor reported, "that this object has somehow triggered volcano-like activity deep beneath the surface of the earth's crust."
Judd and Mr. Stein were in the Land Rover when the thick, black cloud rolled across the desert. There was no wind to speak of, but the cloud moved rapidly, blotting out the sun. The thick cloud almost seemed solid as it rolled over the landscape. As it traveled quickly above them, Judd could tell this wasn't a smoky cloud that thinned as it moved. It was dense and as black as the base of a gasoline fire. From the radio Judd learned that scientists feared the source of the smoke was a huge fire that would eventually rise and shoot flames miles into the air. "We must hurry if we hope to get back to Israel by Sunday," Mr. Stein said.
"Come on! Hurry up!" Said Joey as he, the other kids, Mercury, Jupiter and the Sailor Stars ran through the jungle. "Go! Go! He's right behind us!" The group soon came to a stop.
"I think we lost him." Mercury said, looking back and seeing no one chasing her and the others.
"That was a big failure." Reese said.
"Hey, we tried the best we could." Said the 13-year old boy.
"Well, the maybe the fault wasn't in our execution. It was just a bad idea to begin with." Reese said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Joey asked as he walked up to Reese.
"Just that your ambush plan blew big time. And I was wrong about what I said before. You are completely useless." Reese said.
"Lay off him, Reese! He could the best he could!" Said the 10-year old boy.
"And that obviously wasn't good enough! But that doesnt surprise me. I mean, what else can we expect from a 9-year old pipsqueak?" Reese said.
"I didn't hear you offering any other ideas!" Joey said.
"None as lame as your's, shorty!" Reese said as he pushed Joey.
"Shorty. Shorty, shorty, shorty, shorty, that's all I ever hear from you is shorty! You know what...I've been puttin' up with your bullying, teasing and short jokes towards me since the first grade. Well, I'm not gonna do it anymore." Joey said sternly.
"Ooh, now I'm scared." Reese said sarcastically.
"You should be!" Joey snapped.
"Yeah, right...half-pint." Reese said.
Joey then shoved Reese.
"Hey-hey!" Jupiter said, getting between the two feuding boys. "Come on, you guys. Let's not fight. We need to stick together."
"Jupiter's right. We do need to stick together." Fighter said.
"Let's go." Healer said.
"Move out." Maker added.
The gang then began walking through the jungle, heading for who knows where.
The kids were firing their guns at Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, only for the bullets to disappear on impact, leaving no bloody holes in the Moon Princess or the guy in the tuxedo.
"Impossible! They should be resembling swiss-cheese by now!" said Leon, baffled.
"Looks like your bullets don't work on us. Too bad." Sailor Moon teased.
"Cease fire!" Mio ordered, and the kids stopped firing their guns. "The GC Spy Kids can work until I say stop. Once they start a mission, they will not stop unless I say so. Not for anyone else except Mr. Carpathia, Fortunato and Madame Ivins, of course. And as long as there are more kids like these out there, the GC Spy Kids project will continue to be supplied with them."
The bottom of New Island fired thunderbolts at the deserted Island blowing it up in a bright flash of light. Once the light faded, the island was gone.
At the command center, everyone was shocked by what they just saw on the mid-screen. The Island was there one minute and now it was just...gone.
"Rrrrrrr!" Luna growled in frustration. "Don't fail those kids, Sailor Guardians."
"So you think you can do this, huh? The Spy Kids project that was masterminded by Governor Carl and Terrell Blanca, rest their souls...you actually think you can stop it?" Mio asked.
"Yes, we do! That's what we came here for!" Sailor Moon said.
"We'll terminate this project! And these kids are coming with us! Understand?!" Tuxedo Mask added.
"Hm. Cannot argue with the delusional." Leon said.
Mercury, Jupiter, the Stars and the kids all ran through the jungle as fast as their legs would carry them, not even stopping to catch their breath.
"You guys," Joey began, stopping in his tracks. "wait." He finished, making the gang stop and turn to face him.
"What is it?" Mercury asked.
"I think I have another idea. Another way of how stop the enemy." Joey said.
"You have another plan? Do you think it'll actually work this time?" The 10-year old boy asked.
"I hop it does." Joey said.
"What are we gonna do?" Reese asked.
"We have to stop trying to use our muscles and start using our brains." Joey said.
"What do you mean?" Jupiter asked.
"Maybe we've been going at this all wrong. Hasan is the bad one. The mean one. Bobby's just scared and bullied." Joey explained.
"So how does that help us?" Fighter asked.
"Maybe if we could somehow get Hasan away from Bobby...then maybe...we could talk Bobby out of keeping Sarah prisoner." Joey said.
The Senshi duo, the Stars and the other kids all looked confused.
"Look, Bobby has just been following Hasan's orders. But if Bobby is alone, then we could convince him that he makes the decisions of what to do." Joey said.
"The kid's got a point." Jupiter said.
"Joey's right. Bobby's been nothing but nice to us all along." The 13-year old boy said.
"All we gotta do is convince Bobby to take a stand." The 14-year old girl said.
"Well, how are we ever gonna get Hasan to leave Bobby alone?" Reese asked.
Joey was silent for a moment. "Poison Oak."
"Poison Oak?" Healer and Maker questioned.
"Follow me." Joey said before he took off running.
"Here we go again." Reese said before he and the others all ran after Joey.
"Poison Oak: A highly poisonous shrub with a three-pronged leaf and a red tip. Causes severe rash and itching." Mercury explained, holding a plant of poison oak in her gloved hands, with Joey standing by her right side and the others standing in front of them.
"Every hikers nightmare." Joey added.
"Careful, don't get it on you." Jupiter said.
"Alright. Good plan." Fighter said.
"Oh, yeah. I can't wait to see this." The 10-year old boy said.
"It's never gonna work." Reese said.
"Yeah. It's never gonna work." The 11-year old boy agreed.
"And ignoring that...let's get a move on." Healer said.
"Right. Let's make like shooting stars and zoom." Maker added. Joey and Mercury ran off and the group followed after them.
The Honeymoon staff twirled around Sailor Moon, playing its trademark jingle music, and grabbed it. "Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss!" She said before holding the staff above her head with both hands, followed by it firing it's pink light at Mio, hitting its target, then the light cleared, revealing Mio to still be the same.
"No way!" Sailor Moon gasped. Once again, the Honeymoon staff hadn't worked on someone.
"Didn't work!" Tuxedo Mask added.
"But how?!" Sailor Moon asked.
"Hahahahaha!" Mio laughed. "Nice try...but your little magic tricks won't work on me. For you see, I'm not one of those weak villainized Shadow Galactica creatures you managed to change back into humans. I'm something...different."
"Waste of time. You can't hope to win against Mio." Leon said.
"Not good! She didn't change!" Sailor Moon said.
"That's one tough girl!" Tuxedo Mask added.
"Of course I am. I rose to power through Mr. Carpathia. Thanks to him, I'm not only world renowned pop teen singer, but I'm also the face and owner of the New World Religion, which possesses futuristic technology ahead of the tech of the old world.." Mio explained.
"No matter how high-tech this place is, if the rest of the Senshi. Tuxedo Mask and I work together, we can get these kids off this island and destroy it!" Sailor Moon said.
"That's right! We're shutting this place down!" Tuxedo Mask added.
"And do I look worried?" Mio asked. "The New World Religion is a Global business and is in schools, colleges, and countless churches around the planet with more continue to join it as days, weeks and months go by. So even if you do somehow manage to destroy this island and escape with these kids...it doesn't matter. The Religion will still be up and running and bring in more people who wish to be a part of it. And yes, that includes more little ones too."
"So you see, Miss Moon...you and your little Comic Con costumed alien friends came here for nothing. You've only made matters worse for yourselves. Not to mention all of your families and friends once the Global Community arrest and unmask you to the public." Leon added.
"Maybe...but you're still going down!" Sailor Moon said.
"We'll see about that." Mio said.
"Excellent. You are about to witness the true power of the New World Religion." Mio said, having heard the voice of the NZ employee on the intercom.
"Huh?" Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask asked.
"According to reports from the ten kings and other national leaders, the New World Religion has the power to wipe the new world's enemies off the map as if they never existed. Both physically and business-wise. And with that type of power comes great popularity. Mr. Carpathia, Mr. Fortunato and i have used those reports to make this the greatest religion of all time. A religion that has changed the world as we know it forever. Just like Christianity did in the world before." Mio explained.
"Is she speaking English?" Tuxedo Mask asked.
"I think she's having a break-down." Sailor Moon added, baffled by how smart Mio was for someone who was j
only 18. Almost as smart as Sailor Mercury. No almost about it, she was just as smart as Mercury. Kind of scary, to be honest.
"What Miss Kuroki is saying to you is because of the strong fame that the New World Religion is gaining, it is a religion that has obtained attentions from every other religion around the globe, even Christianity, understand?" Leon said.
"Uuuuuh..." Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask said, clearly drawing a blank. It wasn't that they didn't comprehend what Leon was saying, they just couldn't keep up with his words. Nor could they process the fact that others had accepted the One World Religion, knowing full well what it stood for.
In the castle's control-room, the female employees were analyzing a layout image of New Island on a screen that was on the surveillance screen as it gained more and more power.
"New Island supply rate rapidly increasing. Energy charge at level 6...7...8." Said a female employee in a New Zealand accent.
Joey, Mercury and the other ran through the jungle, with Joey carrying a black bag filled with the poison oak with a white rope tide around it. Just then, three attacks were fired, hitting the ground a foot ahead of them, stopping them in their tracks.
"Hey! What's the big idea?! Who did that?!" Jupiter demanded.
"Going somewhere?" came a female voice.
"Huh? Who said that?!" Jupiter asked, looking around for the source of the voice.
"I did." said the female voice.
"Huh?" Everyone said as they looked in the direction where the voice came from Tellu, Cyprine and Ptitol appeared.
"Tellu!" Mercury said.
"Cyprine, Ptitol!" Jupiter added.
"Surprises, surprises." Cyprine said.
"And oh, what a surprise it is." Ptitol added.
"Sorry, but your road ends here, I'm afraid." Tellu said.
"Don't be so sure. We took you down back at Camp One World and we'll do it again!" Mercury said.
"Only this time for good!" Jupiter added.
The three Stars stepped in front of the Inner Senshi duo.
"Huh?" Mercury and Jupiter asked.
"Starlights...what are you doing?" Jupiter asked.
"Mercury...Jupiter...take Joey and the other kids away. We'll handle these three clowns." Fighter said.
"But-"
"Now!" Healer snapped, cutting Mercury off.
"...Okay." Mercury said. "Come on, you guys!" She said before she, Jupiter and the kids ran off.
"Well, looks like it's just you and us." Cyprine said.
"Yes, three against three. A fair fight. The way we like it." Maker said.
"You won't be so cocky after this." Ptitol said.
The fake Witches 5 trio then transformed into their true selves.
The first one who had once been Tellu was a light blue female Gargoyle with wings that were light blue on the outside and pale blue on the inside, red wild hair that stopped at her upper-back, green eyes, she had a long light tail, and she wore blue lipstick, blue eyeshadow, a short blue glitter dress with long sleeves, pale blue stockings, and glitter blue high heel shoes.
The other two who had been Cyprine and Ptitol had white hair and blue hair that stopped at their upper-back, their eyes were pink and blue, each one wearing a two toned sleeveless dress of blue or red with a ripped hem design, black legless tights, fishnet stockings that covered their whole legs, black high heel shoes. The duo each held a sinister ebony staff similarly designed like the late Cyprine and Ptilol's.
"Nice to finally see the real you." Fighter said.
"What was that about us being clowns?" The female Gargoyle asked.
"Who are you?!" Healer demanded.
"I am Desdemona." The Gargoyle said.
"I'm Lethia." The white-haired woman said.
"And I'm Lamia." The blue-haired woman said.
"And you're all history!" The three said in unison before firing pale blue, white and blue attacks, with Lethia and Lamia firing their attacks.
The attacks made their way...towards the Starlights.
Lethia fired black electricity out of her wand and it hit a screaming Fighter. Lamia fired black electricity out of her wand at Healer. Desdemona fired a blue energy ball and it hit a screaming Maker.
The attack sent the Starlights landing on the ground, who then started groaning in pain.
"I don't know about you two, but I'd rather be me right now than them." Desdemona said.
"Same here." Lethia and Lamia agreed.
"Hahahahaha!" Lethia and Lamia and Desdemona.
"It's not over." said the voice of Fighter.
"Huh?" The dark spiritual beings said.
The battered Starlights stood up.
"We still have some fight left in us. How 'bout you?" Fighter said.
"You just don't know when to quit, do you?" Lamia said. "Lethia...do you feel another burst coming on?"
"I sure do, Lamia. We'll call it the disappearing Starlights trick." Lethia said.
"Count me in too." Desdemona added.
Lethia and Lamia fired bright white energy-balls at the Starlights with their wands while Desdemona firing a big blue fireball.
All three attacks made their way towards the Starlights...then the three Sailor Stars started glowing gold as the attacks hit them, not exploding or doing any kind of damage.
"NO WAY!" Lethia and Lamia gasped in shock.
"WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Desdemona asked.
"You're about to find out!" Fighter said. "Ready, girls?"
"Ready." Healer and Maker said.
"SAILOR REVERSE STAR ATTACK!" The Starlights shouted, followed by the fallen trio's attacks being fired back towards them.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Lethia, Lamia and Desdemona screamed as their own attacks came towards them, followed by exploding on impact, killing all three of them in an instant.
The Starlights stopped glowing.
"Hm. Turnabout is fair play." Fighter said.
"Now that's what I call a finale." Healer said.
"Yeah. Going out with a bang." Maker added.
"Come on. Let's go find Mercury, Jupiter and the kids." Fighter said before she, Healer and Maker ran off through the jungle to find the others.
Cole, Uranus, Saturn, Jake and Mars ran down a hallway, trying to find Sailor Moon and the others, with Cole leading the way.
Mars soon stopped in her tracks and the others ran a few feet ahead of her, followed by them stopping.
"Huh?" Cole, Uranus, Saturn and Jake said as they looked back at Mars.
"What's wrong, Mars?" Saturn asked.
"Are you alright?" Uranus asked.
Mars was quiet for a moment, as she thought about the governor of Indiana and how he had been the cause of all of these kids being recruited into the One World Religion. "Hm. So, Governor Carl, this is the result of your so-called Spy Kids project? Pathetic. You're from a long line of conceated people. People who become obsessed with the power of leadership. People who let arrogance over-whelm them and lose themselves in their greed." She said. "Now I will settle things once and for all!" She shouted. "AAAAAHHHHH!" She screamed as she stretched out her arms and looked up at the ceiling as she started glowing red. A new attack was forming within her. An attack she had been trying to learn and master since the age of 10.
One night in Tokyo, in the backyard of the Hikawa Shrine, 10-year old Rei Hino was in the backyard with her Grandfather, trying to learn a new move in martial arts.
"Celestial Dragon Soul!" shouted 10-year old Rei. "How was that, Grandpa?" She asked. After receiving no response from Grandpa, the Asian pre-teen broke her silence. "Awesome! I did it, I actually did it!"
"Wrong." Grandpa stated.
"Say what?" Rei asked.
"Wrong." Grandpa repeated.
"What'd I do wrong this time?" Rei asked, frustrated. She and her Grandpa had been at this for over an hour and she still hadn't learned the new move.
"You didn't exit out of yourself." Grandpa answered. "Every spirit has one thing in common. Except maybe martial arts spirits. By true spirits I mean true essence, not the ghostie kind before you get any ideas. And if they don't have this in common, then they're not - it could be something else, most bad. Essence comes from one place: Within. It is one's inner being, which is the true self. " He explained while pacing back and forth while Rei's eyes were on the back door of the temple. He then stopped and looked at Rei, who instantly re-focused on him. "And get your eyes off that door, young lady, before I come over there and take 'em out!"
"Yes, sir." Rei said.
"Now...let's try this again. On 3. 1...2-"
"Oh, what's the use? I'll never get the hang of this whole Dragon Soul thing. I quit." Rei said.
"Oh, no, you don't quit. You gave that up when you told me that you wanted to do this." Grandpa said.
"Grandpa, I just wanna learn a martial arts." Rei said.
"Again." Grandpa said. "You will honor your commitment to this thing. You're idea. You see it through. Keep trying. You're a Hino." He encouraged. A smile then formed on his face. "We'll try again tomorrow night. Now go inside and get some rest. You have school tomorrow."
"Love you, Grandpa." Rei said before turning and heading towards the back door of the shrine.
"Mars...Celestial...Dragon...Soul...ATTACK!" Mars screamed, followed by a large fiery spirit-formed Chinese Dragon-shaped attack exiting her chest and roaring and making its way towards the others, who quickly got out of the way, allowing the Dragon Spirit to pass and continue on down the hall.
Mars' eyes briefly lost their shine...her body stopped glowing red...and she collapsed to the floor face-down.
"Mars!" Saturn said before she and the others rushed towards the fire Senshi.
The fiery Chinese Dragon flew down the hallway and then dug a hole in the floor, going underground, making the whole building shake.
The room Sailor, Tuxedo Mask and the others were in shook, startling everyone.
Mio reached into Leon's left pocket and got out his walkie-talkie.
"Hey!" Leon said.
"What was that?!" Mio demanded, speaking into the walkie-talkie.
Back in the castle's control-room, the alarms were blaring and the red lights were blinking.
"Emergency, Miss Kuroki! New Island has been damaged!" Said a woman in a NZ accent, wearing an ear-piece in her left ear.
"High level energy Is destroying the interior of New Island!" Shouted a French accented woman, also wearing an ear-piece on her left ear.
"What did you say?!" Mio gasped.
"What's going on?!" Leon asked.
"Nothing good! New Island has been damaged!" Mio said.
"By what?!" Leon asked.
The Chinese fire Dragon burrowed deeper into the ground of the island, damaging it even more, and then it started digging it's way upwards.
Sailor Moon and everyone else in the room were still stunned by what had just happened with the Chinese fire Dragon.
"Wha?!" Leon gasped in shock.
"What on Earth was that?!" Mio added, also shocked.
"Is everyone alright, is everyone okay?" Sailor Moon asked the kids, noticing how fearful and afraid they now were.
"Please dont pretend you care about us, because we're not falling for it!" A 13-year old Japanese boy said. "Aim now!" He said before he and the other kids aimed their guns at Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.
Sailor Moon stared at the 13-year old Japanese boy sadly, with an image of her brother, Shingo, appearing in his place for a split second. This boy couldn't have been any more than a year older than him. She then thought back to that day in Canada at Camp One World when Shingo pointed that gun at that GC man, threatening to shoot him. What if she and the others hadn't been there to rescue him and those other four kids? Would he have done it? Would he have killed that man if she hadn't been there to intervene?
"Sailor Moon, use the Honeymoon staff on them while you have the chance!" Tuxedo Mask said, snapping the Moon Princess back to reality.
"Okay, yeah!" Sailor Moon said. The Honeymoon staff began playing it's jingle music. "Here we go! Sailor Moon Crystal Power Kiss!" She said before the Honeymoon staff fired it's bright gold light at all of the kids, engulfing them, followed by the light disappearing soon after. The staff must've worked because all of the kids dropping their guns to the floor, looking confused.
"What just happened?" asked a 14-year old girl in New Zealand accented voice.
"And why do we suddenly feel different?" A 15-year old Mexican boy.
"What do you know? It worked. It actually worked." Sailor Moon said. She hadn't expected this attack to work on a number of people, much less a bunch of kids, as she hadn't used it in a while. Not since that day on the plane during the last fight with Sailor Siren. But it worked, thank Heaven.
"Sailor Moon! Tuxedo Mask!" came a female voice.
"Huh?" Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask said before they turned to see Venus, Ruby, Saturn, Neptune, Jake, Cole and Uranus running inside the room, with Mars learning on Uranus for support.
"Sailor Moon!" Saturn said.
"Hey, guys." Sailor Moon said as the gang ran up to her and Tuxedo Mask.
"Are you two alright?" Neptune asked.
"Uh, yeah." Sailor Moon answered. "All's clear on this end."
"Whoa." Jake began, noticing the large hole in floor and the large hole in the ceiling. "What went on in here?"
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Sailor Moon said.
"Wow. Look at all of the kids." Uranus said, gazing at all of the children before her and the others.
"Bummer. Looks like they took care of everything on their own." Cole said.
"So it would seem." Ruby added. "Oh! For those of you who are just now meeting me, I'm Ruby Wilton. And this is my brother, Cole Wilton."
"Hi, nice to meet you." Cole said.
"Hi." Sailor Moon said to Cole.
"Nice to meet you too." Tuxedo Mask added.
"Same here." Venus said.
"What-what happened here?!" Leon gasped in shock. "The New World Religion's great project...Governor Carl's plans...they're ruined by those girls."
"Shittake!" Mio said.
"Hey...what's wrong with Mars?" Sailor Moon asked.
"Beats me. All I know is that she used some new attack involving a fiery Dragon and then she collapsed. I guess it must've took all the fight out of her." Uranus explained.
"So that Dragon we saw just a few minutes ago was attack from her?" Tuxedo Mask asked.
"Wow. Way to go, Mars." Sailor Moon said.
The roaring fiery Chinese Dragon then came back into the room through the hole in the ceiling and made it's way toward the gang, who all rushed out of the way, leaving Mars behind, allowing the Dragon attack to re-enter her body through her chest, then she fell to her knees, followed by falling face-down on the floor.
"Mars!" Sailor Moon said before running over to where the fire Senshi was lying and bent down to her angle, placing her right hand on the Guardian's left shoulder. "Hang in there."
Mars' eyes recovered their violet hue and she lifted her head, looking up at the Moon Princess. "Sailor Moon."
"Huh?" Sailor Moon said. "Hey. Are you alright?"
"Couldn't be better." Mars answered. "Did we win?"
Sailor Moon smiled. "Yeah. We sure did...thanks to you."
Mercury, Jupiter, Joey and the other kids ran up to the end of a long bridge that had red-railings and stopped in their tracks.
"Okay, everybody across, one at a time." Mercury said.
The 10-year old boy slowly began making his way across the bridge.
"You can make it." Jupiter said.
The 10-year old walked across the bridge and made it to the other side.
"Okay, Reese, you're next." Joey said.
Reese then went across the bridge and made it to the other side where the other boy was. One by one, each of the other kids made their way across the bridge to the other side, followed by Mercury and then Jupiter. The only one left to cross was Joey.
"Come on, Joey, you're the last one!" Mercury said.
"No time to trip." Joey said before he started walking across the bridge, holding the net-rails. He stopped for a moment and looked over the bridge and saw that it wasn't up too high before resuming his walk. Once he'd made it half-way over, he ran across the rest of the bridge and to the other side.
"Come on, hurry, hurry!" Jupiter said lowly as Joey ran over to where she and the others were.
The gang then saw Bobby and Sarah walking towards the bridge on the other side. For whatever reason, Hasan wasn't with them. Probably because he was scratching himself silly due to the poison oak.
"Bobby's alone. Hasan is falling behind." The 10-year old boy said.
"Great. Now's our chance." Mercury said.
"Okay, Sarah. You wait here. When I'm safe on the other side, I'll yell to you to come over, okay?" Bobby instructed.
"Okay." Sarah said.
"Alright." Bobby said.
"Be careful." Sarah said.
"Oh, boy." Bobby said as he started crossing the bridge. When he made it to the other side, he turned to Sarah. "Okay, Sarah, it's okay! Come on across! It's okay!"
Sarah then began crossing the bridge.
"It's okay." Bobby said as Hasan arrived at the bridge, searching himself.
"Stop!" Joey said as he, Mercury and Jupiter ran towards the bridge.
Sarah stopped in her tracks in the middle of the bridge and Joey, Mercury and Jupiter rushed to the bridge.
"Sarah, stop!" Jupiter said.
"Joey? Mercury? Jupiter?" Sarah said.
"What are you doing here?" Bobby asked.
"Bobby, you have to let Sarah go." Joey said.
"Bobby, grab that kid!" Hasan ordered.
"You guys, run!" Sarah said.
"No. We're not running anymore." Joey said.
"Bobby...you have to let Sarah go." Mercury said.
"You don't wanna hurt her. This is all Hasan's doing." Joey said.
"You get him!" Hasan ordered.
"Bobby...Joey and Mercury are right. We can stop this whole thing right now. I'll tell the cops that you saved me and you won't get into any trouble, I promise." Sarah said.
"Bobby...don't you listen to them. You grab that kid." Hasan said. "If you don't grab that kid and let Sarah off the bridge right now, I'm coming over there to get her myself."
"Hasan, you can't go on the bridge, you'll-you'll make it sway and Sarah will fall." Bobby warned.
"Alright! I'm gonna count to five...and if you don't do what I tell you, I'm comin' over there myself! I refuse to go to prison over this!" Hasan said.
"You think life behind bars is what you need to be worried about right now?!" Mercury asked. "Your eternal future is what you should really be concerned about!"
"That's right! Didn't anyone ever tell you that the forces of Heaven are coming to Earth in five years?!" Jupiter added.
"1..." Hasan began counting, completely ignoring everything Mercury and Jupiter had just said, and he stepped onto the bridge.
"Hasan-"
"2..." Hasan said, cutting Bobby off as he stepped further onto the bridge.
"Stop!" Bobby said.
"3..." Hasan said, stepping further on the bridge.
"Hasan-"
"4..." Hasan said, cutting Bobby off, stepping further on the bridge. "5." He said, stepping further on the bridge.
"Stay off of that bridge." Bobby said.
"Get him!" Hasan yelled.
"Bobby, do something!" Joey said.
"Hasan, stop!" Bobby said as Hasan kept moving across the bridge.
"Bobby, stop him!" Sarah said.
"Hasan, I mean it! Knock it off!" Bobby said.
Hasan stopped in his tracks. "Bobby, don't you dare be a fool!" He said. "Think about what you're doing, Bobby! If you let her and the other kids go...you listen to them and those aliens, Miss Kuroki's gonna call off our deal and she's never gonna request that Carpathia let Carlton out of prison!"
"What?!" Mercury and Jupiter gasped, stunned.
"It's true. Hasan wanted his and Bobby's oldest brother, Carlton, out of prison. So he contacted Mio and asked her if she would request to the world leader to get their brother released." Joey explained.
"That's why he and Bobby kidnapped us and brought us here. So they could exchange us for their brother's freedom." Sarah added.
"On Mio's orders, mind you." Joey concluded.
Mercury and Jupiter were stunned. They knew these men had kidnapped these kids, but they never stopped to ask why. They assumed it was the same as the fiasco with all the other kids here. But no. This situation was entirely different. It seemed they had come across two different cases.
"And I'd do it all again if it meant getting my brother out of prison! Don't you get it?! All of this is for a good cause!" Hasan said.
"No! Your brother committed a crime and that's why he ended up behind bars! Because he belongs there!" Sailor Mercury yelled. How could this man abduct a bus load of children and say it's for a good cause, much less see it as one? This had wrong written all over it. She didn't know what these men's brother did to wind up in prison, and that was fine, she didn't have to. He broke the law and got locked up. That was all she needed to know.
"But instead of learning from brother's actions and choosing to do better with your life, you bullied your younger brother into helping you abduct a bus load of kids so that you could get him released illegally! I don't know what your brother did, and frankly, I don't care! He committed a crime and got locked up because of it! Case closed!" Jupiter added.
"They're right! Carlton broke the law, Hasan! He was wrong!" Bobby said.
"Alright, then how about this?! If you don't do what I tell you, I'm coming over there to get you!" Hasan said.
"Come on, Bobby, think. This is your chance to stand up for yourself." Joey said.
"Are you gonna let your brother bully you forever or are you gonna be your own man?!" Jupiter asked.
"Back off of her, Hasan." Bobby said.
"Oh, yeah?! And what are you gonna do if I don't?!" Hasan asked.
Bobby was silent for a moment before stepping onto the bridge.
"Oh." Hasan said before he scoffed. "Yeah, tough guy."
Bobby then stopped in his tracks.
"Yeah. Yeah. I thought so. You haven't got the nerve." Hasan said. "You're a spineless jellyfish, Bobby. You couldn't tie your own shoes if your life depended on it. Now I'm ordering you...smack that kid and let me off the bridge with the girl right now!"
Bobby shook his head. "No."
"Yes!" All of the other kids cheered.
"I ain't listenin' to you no more Hasan." Bobby said.
"Huh?" Hasan asked.
"I said no." Bobby answered, placing his fists on his hips. "I ain't listenin' to you ever again." He said. "You're a bad man, Hasan!" He said, pointing at Hasan.
"Freeze!" Came a female voice.
"Huh?" The gang said.
"Look!" Joey said, pointing upward.
Everyone looked up to see a helicopter descending down.
"Yes, could it be?!" Mercury shouted.
The helicopter kept descending down until it came to a stop, hovering over the bridge, facing Hasan.
"Stay right where you are! I am Sailor Pluto, Guardian of revolution, and if you attempt to harm any of these children, you will be fired upon!" came the voice of Pluto from inside the helicopter.
Sarah then began making her way across the rest of the bridge, passing Bobby as she did. The bridge then started to sway back and forth, making the girl lose her balance. "I'm falling!" She said as she fell.
"We've got you!" Joey said as he rushed onto the bridge and grabbed Sarah before running off of it.
"Let's go!" Reese said before he and the other kids rushed to the bridge, grabbed the net-rails, and began shaking the bridge.
The helicopter then flew towards Hasan.
"AAHH!" Hasan screamed as he lost his balance and fell over the bridge as the helicopter passed him.
"Yeah! Yeah!" The kids and the Senshi duo cheered.
"Yes! We did it!" Joey said.
The helicopter then ascended back up into the air.
"Hasan?" Bobby called as he looked over the bridge and down at Hasan, who was lying face-down on the ground. "Hasan?" Nothing. Bobby then turned and walked off the bridge, following the Senshi duo and the kids.
"Yes! Great job, everyone!" Joey said.
Mercury's watch rang and she opened it, revealing Pluto on-screen. "Sailor Pluto! Oh, thank goodness you showed up when you did."
"Yeah, nice save." Reese said.
"Don't mention it." Pluto said.
"You know...something just occurred to me." Jupiter asked.
"What's that?" Mercury asked.
"How are we gonna get the kids off the island?" Jupiter asked.
"Oh, my gosh, I didn't even think of that." Mercury said. "Bobby...is there a way for us to get off the island?"
"Yeah. There's an airport nearby with passenger planes." Bobby answered.
"Can you show us where it is?" Mercury asked.
"I don't have the map to the island. Hasan has it." Bobby said.
"Oh, no." The 11-year old boy said.
"What do we do now?" The 14-year old girl asked.
"We're going to get these kids off this island. We don't even know the way to the airport." Sarah said.
"But I do. I came across it while patrolling the island in the helicopter." Pluto said.
"Perfect. We could follow the helicopter and Pluto can leave us there." Joey said.
"How'd you get so smart?" Mercury asked. For a kid who was only 9, this boy certainly knew a lot for his young age.
"School and TV like everyone else." Joey answered.
"Hardy har-har." Mercury said.
"Lead the way, Pluto." Jupiter said.
Mercury closed her watch and she and the others watched as the helicopter flew off. "Come on, everyone. Let's follow her."
"Right." Jupiter said before she and the whole gang, Bobby included, chased after the helicopter.
As New Island sored through the dark sky, the bottom of it exploded, making the entire island shake.
"Aahh!" Sailor Moon and the others in the now shaking room screamed.
"What was that?!" Mio asked, speaking into the walkie-talkie.
In the castle's control-room, many of the female employees were standing up as the alarm blared, with the screen of the layout of the island now red and orange.
"The balance system has been destroyed! We have lost control of New Island!" Said one of the women standing in a NZ accent before the word WARNING appeared on-screen in red, replacing the layout of the island.
"The island has gone into mayday mode and is continuing to increase!" Said a Japanese woman standing up.
"At this rate, the mobile mode will not last!" Said an American woman sitting down.
"What?!" Mio gasped.
"That cannot be!" Leon shouted.
"If we cannot regain control of the mobile mode very soon, New Island will blow itself yo pieces withing 20 minutes." said an American woman.
"Blow it to pieces?!" Venus gasped as she and everyone else looked panicked and stunned.
The bottom of New Island exploded three more times.
"AAHH!" Sailor Moon and everyone else in the room screamed as the room shook.
"What's going on?!" Fighter asked as the whole island shook, with her, Healer and Maker having ceased their battle with the fallen trio because of the explosions.
"Number 2 and 3 engines have failed! Power declining! Unable to maintain a safe altitudes!" Said the voice of the American woman.
In the command room of the command center, Luna and everyone else watched as New Island began falling out of the sky.
"Look there! Look at New Island!" Artemis said.
"It's going down!" Kenji said.
"Oh, no!" Ikuko added.
"This isn't good!" Luna said.
At the Trib-Force's place, Rayford, Chloe and Hattie watched on in shock as New Island began falling out of the sky on live TV.
At the kids Trib-Force's school hideout, Vicki and the others looked on as New Island fell out of the sky on the TV.
In Israel, Lionel and the others looked on in shock as New Island was falling out of the sky on TV.
"You mean New Island is going to crash into the ocean?!" Leon screamed.
"Oh, no!" Sailor Moon said.
"AAHH!" Everyone else screamed.
New Island continued to go down...heading for the blood red ocean.
Sailor Moon and everyone else was now lying on the floor like Mars due to the Island's hard landing.
"Emergency water-landing successful." said a female American voice on the intercom.
"15 Minutes remain until submerge. All heads begin evacuating immediately." added a female NZ voice on the intercom.
Sailor Moon and the gang stood up.
"This is becoming a real drag." Uranus said.
"Let's get these kids off this island before it's too late." Neptune added.
"A submerge?!" Leon gasped.
"But New Island..." Mio began. "No way! It can't be true, it can't!"
"Hey...what's a submerge anyway?" Cole asked.
"It's another word for sink. It's when something goes underwater. In the case of this situation, however, the chances of anyone surviving an island sinking into the ocean are zero-percent likely." Neptune explained.
"AAHH!" Sailor Moon, Cole, Ruby and Jake screamed in panic.
"New Island is a much more destructive power than what that can do. If a submerge actually occurs, it'll be the end of the island. Once the island reaches the bottom of the ocean, the sea's pressures will crush the entire island and break it apart." Leon explained.
"Say what?" Venus asked.
"This is all your fault!" Mio yelled at the Senshi.
"Our fault!" The Senshi said.
"Yes, YOUR fault! If you and the rest of your Comic Con costumed alien friends didn't come here and get in our way, this never would've happened!" Leon said.
"You're nuts!" Sailor Moon replied, with an anger mark.
"That's ridiculous!" Mars added.
"Aren't you the ones who built such a dangerous thing in the first place?!" Saturn asked, placing her free hand on her hip.
"Well, it wasn't dangerous 'til you all showed up!" Mio said. "Oh, whatever! You figure this out, we're leaving." She said. "Transport me and Mr. Fortunato back to the castle control-room. And teleport all of the staff and GC to the castle as well." She spoke into the walkie-talkie.
"Right away, Miss Kuroki." Said a female American voice on the walkie-talkie.
"Have fun playing heroes." Mio said to the Pretty Guardians, with a smirk on her face before she and Leon turned into violet lights and ascended up through the ceiling, phasing through it like ghosts.
"Cowards!" Saturn yelled.
"There's nothing we can do here. Let's get these kids out of here." Uranus said.
"But how? I mean, how are we supposed to get all these kids off this island?" Mars asked.
"Mars is right. We don't have the right kind of transportation to get all of these kids off this island. I mean, there's the helicopter Pluto's flying, but that'll only hold a few people." Sailor Moon said.
"I know how we can get them all out of here." Jake said.
"You do, how?" Venus asked.
"There's an airport on the island. We can take one of the passenger planes and fly out of here before the island sinks into the ocean." Jake answered and explained.
"That's a brilliant idea!" Mars said. "Hey, Sailor Moon...you think maybe you can teleport us and all of these kids to the airport?"
"I think that can be arranged." Sailor Moon said. She then closed her eyes and concentrated, followed by glowing pink, then a large pink orb enveloped her and everyone else in the room, then the pink orb disappeared with her and everyone else, leaving behind the empty room.
The pink orb appeared outside and disappeared from around Sailor Moon and the others.
"Come on, you guys!" Sailor Moon panted as she and the others started running towards the airport ahead of them.
The group ran up to the glass double-doors and they slid open, allowing them to enter inside.
"Boarding area! That way!" Jake said, pointing ahead.
Everyone rushed into the boarding-room.
"We can fly out of here?" Saturn asked.
"We gotta get a gateway attached to one of the planes first." Tuxedo Mask said as he and everyone else ran up to the counter.
"Sailor Moon!" Came two female voices.
Sailor Moon and the others turned to see Sailor Mercury, Jupiter, several other kids and a man rushing into the boarding room.
"Mercury! Jupiter!" Sailor Moon said, happy to see them.
Mercury, Jupiter and their gang rushed up to Sailor Moon and her group.
"Thank goodness you're all safe." Mercury said.
"And you rescued the other kids. Way to go." Jupiter added.
"How did you know we were here?" Sailor Moon asked.
"We didn't. We just showed up here following Pluto's helicopter and here you all were." Jupiter answered.
"Now I've got you!" Came a male voice.
Everyone turned to see Hasan standing in the room, now looking a mess, as well as dirty.
Hasan chuckled as he smiled, staring at Joey. "You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna tear you apart, limb by routed limb. Then I'm gonna dump you in the jungle and leave you there to rot. And when Carpathia sets my brother free, I'm gonna do the same thing to all of you brats."
"I don't think so!" came a female voice.
"Huh?" Hasan asked as he turned to see the Starlights standing in the room.
"If anyone's gonna get torn apart here, it's gonna be you!" Fighter said.
"Fighter! Healer! Maker!" Sailor Moon said excitedly.
"You'll never harm those kids! Not while we're around!" Healer added.
"You're never gonna get away with this! You're gonna do time in prison, just like your brother!" Maker said.
"Oh, yeah?" Hasan asked before he started making his way towards the Sailor Stars. "Meddling aliens from outer space."
The two witnesses then appeared as if through a gentle beam of sunlight, in front of the Starlights, facing Hasan.
"Hey! Wha-what in the world?!" Hasan said.
"Thus says Psalm 105-15: "Do not touch my anointed ones"." Eli began.
"Do my prophets no harm." Moishe concluded.
"Yeah, yeah, enough with that old folklore fairytale mumbo-jumbo. What do you old fashions want?" Hasan said.
"Kidnappers must be put to death." Eli began, quoting Exodus 21-16.
"Whether they are caught in possession of their victims of have already sold them as slaves." Moishe concluded, finishing the verse.
"Are you threatening me?" Hasan asked.
"Woe unto those who involve children in their evil deeds." Eli started.
"For such people will have their part in Hell after death, from which there is no coming back." Moishe finished.
"How dare you! No one comes up against me and makes threats! And that goes for you too, you old coots!" Hasan said. "AAAAAAAHHHHH!" He screamed in anger as he stormed towards the two witnesses.
"Hasan, no!" Bobby shouted frantically.
"Your injured pride is not worth your life, you moron!" Jupiter yelled.
"Yes, it is!"
"You've been warned!" Eli and Moishe said before they breathed fire out of their mouths, touching Hasan, then they disappeared.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Hasan screamed in agony as he ran around in circles while everyone looked on in horror, then he fell to his knees and then face-down...dead.
Bobby then fell to his knees, baring a sad expression as he stared at the burning remains of what had once been his older brother, Hasan. "Big brother."
Everyone looked at Bobby sadly. Some of them out of pity that he had just lost someone they now knew was his older brother...and the rest of them out of empathy that already knew he and Hasan were related. He had already lost one brother to prison...and now he had lost another one both to death and Hell. Now he was all alone.
Later, a passenger plane-with the Senshi, Stars, Tuxedo Mask, the kids and Bobby on board and Uranus and Neptune piloting it-exited the island through the broken ceiling of the dome along with the helicopter Pluto was flying. As they both flew off, New Island slowly sank into the blood red ocean until it was covered by the sea.
New Island clearly was not the next Atlantis.
Tokyo, Japan
Hour later, Ruby managed to stay silent as she was walking down the hall of the underground command center, checking behind her every once in a while to make sure she wasn't being followed. After the Senshi, Tuxedo Mask and the Stars had rescued her, Cole and the other kids, the Japanese super-heroes took them and Bobby to a secret location where they would be safe and well taken care of by adult believers for the remaining five years of the apocalypse. Sure, they could've returned the kids with families to their parents, but they knew that wouldn't be wise, as the GC knew where they all lived and would just show up at their homes and take them away again. The only kids they kept with them were her, Cole and Jake, and they brought them back here to their headquarters, as well as introduced them to the other refugees, becoming instant friends with them. She pressed herself against a wall and moved carefully towards a door and twisted the knob.
"What are you doing?" Came a young male voice from behind, startling Ruby, making her jump.
Ruby whipped around, staring at the 10-year old Arkon, Ohio boy, Justin Richards. She looked left and right quickly before grabbing his right arm, opening the door, and hauling him into the room along with her, closing the door quickly. In turn, Justin almost yelped with surprise, but she slammed her right palm over the boy's mouth. "Shh. You're gonna get me caught." She whispered.
"Caught?" Justin managed to muffle out. "Caught doing what? And let go of me." The boy said. He was a bit surprised, because this young girl was strong.
"Only if you be quiet." Ruby whispered.
Justin nodded his head, deciding to humor the girl, before she removed her hand from his mouth.
"Aren't you curious about what's going on?" Ruby asked.
"Well, yeah." Justin admitted with a nod of his head. "But I-"
"Shh." Ruby said as she raised her right hand again, with Justin holding up his own as a sign of defeat. "They're not going to tell us or the other kids what's going on. So either come with me and find out or go away and don't tell anyone what I'm doing."
Justin stared at Ruby oddly, weighing the pos and the cons in his mind. Really, the worst case scenario was that they'd get caught, taken back to the room where the other kids were, and scolded. The curiosity that was gnawing at him, on the other hand, would drive him insane eventually. "Alright. Where were you going?"
"Up here." Ruby said before climbing onto a dresser, followed by taking a rectangle-shaped grate off a vent above it, making Justin blink with surprise as the girl placed the grate down on the dresser. "Come on." She said, looking back at Justin. "Let's go."
"The air-vents?" Justin asked. That seemed kind of cliche.
"Yep." Ruby said before she hauled herself up into the rectangle-shaped hole in the wall. "Coming? Or are you scared?"
The blond-haired Ohio boy bristled at the thought. "I'm not scared." He said before he climbed up onto the dresser after Ruby, hauling himself into the vent. "Do you know where to go?"
"No. But we'll keep crawling until we find the right room." Ruby said.
Slowly and quietly, the two American kids made their way through the air-vents until they stopped. In the small space, Ruby shifted around so that she was stretched out the opposite way Justin was motioned toward the grate on the vent floor in front of her. He moved forward and looked down through the grate and saw that the Senshi, Tuxedo Mask, the Stars, the grown-ups, minus Maryanne, and the two cats-Luna and Artemis-in the command-room below them, gathered around the control-panel, with Luna sitting on the stool, facing the group, and Artemis by her right side on the floor. Maryanne wasn't with the others because she's in another room with her children.
In the command-room, everyone was watching an American anchor-man and a Mexican anchor-woman on the GNN News on the middle screen. The adult Trib-Force, the kids Trib-Force minus Janey and Melinda. Judd Lionel, Nada and Sam, and Buck were all on the other screens, also tuned into the News.
"After the aliens' assault on New Island in New Zealand, as well as the abduction of all those children that were on it, an emergency diving crew searched for human bodies. Fortunately, aside from find one male body that was charred, the team now reports that everyone else made it off the island safely before it sunk into the ocean. Meanwhile, the burnt human remains are being sent to the morgue for identification and their name will be released later on." said the anchor-man.
"And now, addressing the incident with New Island in New Zealand, here's Potentate Carpathia." The Mexican anchor-woman said in a Spanish accented voice.
The scene then changed to Nicolae sitting at his desk. "Good evening, citizens of the new world." He greeted. "Or perhaps not too good for the poor parents of those children who were abducted by the moon aliens, as well as the family of the burnt deceased who was uncovered by the emergency diving crew. Such a disastrous ordeal is tragic, especially when it was highly avoidable."
"Avoidable?!" Ikuko burst out furiously. "How is an island floating in the sky and crashing into the ocean avoidable?!"
"All of you know me as the leader of the world. But today I do not come to you as the world governor. Today I come as a friend to all you parents who's children were among those on New Island to be kidnapped by the moon aliens." Nicolae said. "For the last two years, dating back to the vanishings, the moon aliens have terrorized the whole planet, unleashing war, famine, disease and disasters upon us all, and it is time to take the power back from them and give it to those who can use it for the people. The New World government." The Romanian world leader said, his right hand balled into to fist.
"I wanna hear this." Chloe said, wondering how Carpathia would spin this situation.
"To these aliens, progress requires sacrifice...but I have sacrificed much to be able to come to you today as a beacon of hope. You may have heard horrible things about me and the New World organization and it's global religion through the manipulation of the religious church people, those two old men in Israel, and the moon aliens. I assure you we are none of those things. We are the hope for the future. Already we have set into motion the actions that will free us all from the enemy's manipulations." Nicolae explained.
"Pathetic." Nehelenia said, rolling his eyes, with her arms folded.
"Surely, people aren't actually going to believe this nonsense, are they?" Idina asked.
"I urge all religious church people and fans and supporters of the moon aliens to comply with the Global Community agents that you will find in your towns and cities shortly. If you do so, there will be no problems and all will be well. If you refuse and choose to continue on, you will be arrested, detained and re-educated." Nicolae said.
"Making threats to people on live television? Not one of your best moments." Mayumi said snippily.
"You must understand, this New World Order is for the betterment of all, and those who try to stop this new era of progression will be arrested and detained without prejudice." Nicolae said.
"Careful, buddy. Your true self is starting to show." Kenji said, with his arms folded.
"Meanwhile, addressing the asteroid/toxic smoke epidemic-more of the moon aliens' handiwork, no doubt-and the damaged, infected communities of America and Tokyo-Japan, I am issuing an immediate evacuation until we can sterilize them of this virus. It broke me to hear of all the adults who lost their lives in the asteroid disaster. And it hurt me even more when I heard the number of people who perished from global ice cold snow winter, which was also caused by the moon aliens, but we can use it as a lesson for everyone. All of your actions matter. In this case, you only have the moon aliens to thank for the asteroid/smoke epidemic and the world-wide ice cold winter. They chose to target America, using violence to harm many of it's innocent citizens. If you are watching this, beings of the moon, I hope you realize what your actions have caused." Nicolae said.
Sailor Moon's gloved hands shot up to her mouth and she stumbled backwards. Tuxedo Mask grabbed a hold of her to keep her up. "Oh, no."
"Great. Not only is he slandering us again, he's trying to make us feel guilty for something we know we didn't do." Venus said.
"And now, here to speak of a solution to the asteroid/smoke epidemic in America and Japan, here is Dr. Claim Rosenzweig." Nicolae said.
The scene then changed to Dr. Rosenzweig sitting at a desk.
"Greetings, my fellow Americans. As you all know, I am Dr. Chaim Rosenzweig, creator of the Eden formula, reporting live from the World Health Care Center in Israel. I have asked for this time to speak to you because of the turmoil your nation has gone through during the last week. I come before you this evening not just as a doctor, but as a friend who has encountered and dealt with many diseases before over the years. The magnitude of the lost adults and the lives of countless children that have been forever changed due to the asteroid/smoke epidemic is beyond measure. No answer to the source of this phenomenon has been found. Nor do I feel we will find one...which will explain away the loss of countless parents, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, adult siblings, adult cousins, etc. But we must stay focused and heal both nations...as we heal ourselves. Both emotionally and health-wise. As you well know, this disaster/epidemic has gone far beyond your boarders. This catastrophe has also touched Tokyo-Japan as well. The United Nations has asked that we find a solution to this problem. We ask that every citizen in America and Japan receive a vaccine that the Health Center and I have been working on over the last seven days and have just now completed."
Dr. Rosenzweig had dubbed the asteroid/smoke epidemic the "Asteroid Virus". ASTRO-V for short.
"What?!" Mars gasped.
"A vaccine? In just one week? That can't be good." Sailor Mercury said.
"Wouldn't it be smart to just mandate that everyone wear face-masks?" Jupiter asked.
"This vaccine will insure that you are kept healthy and safe in the continuing days of this epidemic. It's much like a serum with healthy ingredients. Every bit of nutrition is 100-percent safe. We ask that you join in keeping yourselves, family, friends, neighbors, citizens and nations safe by taking the vaccine as we move further into this dark time for the U-S and Japan. I thank you for your understanding and support. The military will start shipping the vaccine to both of your countries immediately. Carpathia bless you and Carpathia bless America and Japan. Goodbye. Back to you, potentate." Dr. Rosenzweig said.
The scene then changed back to Carpathia.
"Thank you, Dr. Rosenzweig." Nicolae said. "Now, concluding what I was saying earlier, the leaders of the nations have made their choice and have little patience for those who defy the New World system. They see the Global Community as the opening of a brighter future, and they expect everyone else to fall in line with them for a smooth, peaceful transition to a better era. An era free of manipulations of the church people and the moon aliens." Nicolae then stared directly at the camera, as if he were looking at Sailor Moon and the whole gang. "This is a new Earth now. And in this new Earth...the New World Order reigns." The screen shut off.
"I believe I do." Luna answered before everyone focused on her, with Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Moon and her parents ending the hug. "But to understand how all of this came about...we have to go back to the beginning. Which brings me to the reason why I called you all here."
"Well don't keep us in suspense, spill." Venus said.
"I did the on-screen autopsy on Governor Carl earlier today and was able to determine the cause of death." Luna said.
"And?" Uranus asked.
"What's the verdict?" Neptune added.
"Well, it's just as Mercury suspected. He didn't die from the gun shot." Luna revealed.
"Well, then what was the cause of death?" Pluto asked.
Luna was silent for a moment before answering. "Governor Carl was high on drugs when he attacked his wife, Sailor Moon and Venus."
"What?!" The gang gasped.
"Drugs?!" The Trib-Forces on the screens added.
"Are you sure?" Saturn asked. She knew the governor's death wasn't a result of the gun shot and that Mio was responsible, but drugs being involved never entered her mind.
"He overdosed, his body went into cardiac arrest during surgery." Luna stated.
"What kind of drugs were they? Did it say?" Mercury asked.
"Methamphetamine." Luna answered.
"Metham-what?" Fighter asked, confused.
"Methamphetamine. It's a synthetic drug with more rapid and lasting effects than amphetamine, used illegally as a stimulate and as a prescription drug to treat narcolepsy and maintain blood pressure." Mercury explained.
"Can it make a person violent?" Venus asked.
"Yes, it can." Mercury answered.
"But how did he manage to get ahold of that type of drug? I mean, I can understand why he started using, with his son's death and all, and likely wanting to numb his grief." Sailor Moon said.
"Yeah. But that still doesn't explain how he came into possession of it." Mars said.
"I think I know how." Fighter answered, making everyone focus on her. "When we were on the plane with Laura and Hilary and talking with her about her husband, she revealed that Mio had been bringing him food by the house once a week."
"Laura thought it would make him feel better and help him cope with the loss of their son." Healer added.
"But he only seemed to grow more and more violent towards her as the weeks went on. And now we know why. Mio was spiking the food with illegal drugs. I'm also assuming that she was behind him coming into possession of the Kisenian flower and Laura coming into ownership of the gun that was used to kill him. She most likely was hoping Laura would snap and pull the trigger herself." Maker finished.
"But it didn't go that way. Her sister shot him." Sailor Moon said.
"Either way, he was still killed. Different shooter, sure, but...same end-result." Venus said.
"Based on everything the Starlights just shared with us concerning the governor of Indiana...that doesn't sound like domestic violence, that sounds like a murder." Rayford said.
"Yeah. An orchestrated murder, to be exact." Judd said.
"Oh, that poor woman. Losing her son at such a young age, then her husband turning abusive, and then losing him two years later? I can't believe Mio would do this. I was friends with her when I was with Nicolae, and she seemed so nice...just like him." Hattie said.
"People like Mio and Carpathia are always nice...in the beginning." Saturn said.
"How could she do this? I mean...what kind of person, much less a teenage-girl, takes advantage of someone's grief?" Ikuko asked.
"Only a person like Mio." Fighter said.
"Wait a minute. I'm confused. What does any of this have to do with the asteroid/smoke epidemic?" Sailor Moon asked.
"Everything...unfortunately." Luna answered. "While I was doing the on-screen autopsy on Governor Carl's body, I studied the purple toxic smoke and came across something rather...disturbing."
"What do you mean by disturbing?" Sailor Moon asked.
"You know how you shared with me those infected adults appeared to be exhibiting Governor Carl's violent nature?" Luna asked.
"Yeah." Sailor Moon said.
"Well, the reason for that is because...they were." Luna answered.
"What?!" Sailor Moon gasped.
"A toxic smoke disease that infects communities of grown-ups with someone else's violent persona? What kind of disease does that?" Vicki asked.
"That's just it. I don't think this is a normal disease." Luna said.
"Say what?" Lionel asked.
"I think it was created...by Mio." Luna said.
"What?" Mercury asked. She was too incredulous to really say anything. How had she missed that of all things?
"Wait, back up." Mars began. "How does Mio infect multiple communities with toxic smoke by hitting them with asteroids? A weapon I get, but a natural disaster?"
"Those asteroid impacts weren't natural." Luna corrected. "They were made by someone."
"What?!" Shelly gasped.
"And the reason the adults got infected with Governor Carl's persona is because the smoke bares his negative energy and the same drugs that killed him." Luna explained.
"Are you sure?" Sailor Moon asked, shocked . Although she shouldn't have been at all surprised to hear that. Mio was of the Dark Kingdom, and they stole all kinds of energy from humans indiscriminately. It didn't matter what kind of energy it was, just as long as they got it.
"I ran a DNA test on the drugs in the governor's system and the mystery toxin that was in the smoke. They're a perfect match." Luna said.
"That's why Mio didn't want an autopsy done." Saturn realized.
"So she took the governor's violent nature and made it into an airborne disease that turns adults violent like him and against children." Fighter realized.
"Yeah. But that still doesn't explain how she managed to pull it off...and who helped her do it." Mars said. There was no way that a teenage-girl had been able to turn one man's violent nature into a disease that only infected adults 20 and over and turned them against children all by herself. Sure, she was a being of the Dark Kingdom, but even they couldn't pull off something like this all by themselves. Mio had to have had some kind of assistance.
"That's easy, Carpathia helped her do it. Right, Luna?" Healer said.
Luna didn't say anything, with her eyes closed.
"Luna? Luna?" Healer said.
Luna didn't respond.
"This is Carpathia's doing, isn't it?" Healer asked.
Luna was still silent, as if she were in deep thought about something. "As hard as it is to believe...I don't think the world leader is behind any of this."
"What?!" Healer asked, shocked with disbelief. She did not see that coming.
"But...it's gotta be Carpathia. Who else could it be?" Maker said.
"Tell me..." Luna began before opening her eyes. "out of both America and Japan getting his and infected by the asteroids, which nation got impacted the most?"
"America, why?" Darrion answered and asked.
"Exactly. Which means whoever helped Mio pull off this asteroid/disease epidemic must have it in for America." Luna said.
"Right. The only question is who. Who would wanna attack America?" Jupiter said.
"Do you think this could be the work of an enemy from outer-space like usual? Or maybe another attack from Russia? After all, they did attack America last year in World War 3. Or maybe it's North Korea. Or the middle east. Or a terrorist attack." Naru said, naming her list of suspects.
She and Umino had been doing their own research aligning timelines of events to those of Revelation and more.
"I'm afraid I cannot answer that question, because I do not know. But I will add all of those things you've named to the list of suspects." Luna said.
"What about Carpathia? Isn't he a suspect too?" Venus asked.
"Well, he's not on my list of suspects, but he is a person of interest." Luna answered.
"Wait. I'm drawing a blank here. I mean...if America is the intended target of this unknown enemy, why was Tokyo hit?" Sailor Moon said.
"Well...either it was a red-herring, or an act of sheer spite towards you." Luna guessed.
"What?!" Sailor Moon gasped.
"Think about it. Mio knows who you and the others here really are and that you originated here in Tokyo. It doesn't take genius to connect the dots that she had your home-town hit to spite you." Luna explained.
"The cat's got a point." Mark said. "I mean, think about it. When a super-hero's identify is exposed, the first thing the super villains do is attack the hero's heart. Like go after their families and friends. Or in this case, attack their home-town."
"Bottom line, we must find out who's behind this disaster/epidemic and put a stop to whatever their intentions are for America. In the meantime, however, we have to find some way stabilize the situation and the people of the United States. And I know just how to do it." Mercury said. "Buck...do you think maybe you can set me up an appointment with Dr. Rosenzweig?"
"Sure. I mean, I don't know if he'll agree to see you or not, but I can try." Cameron 'Buck' Williams said.
"Thank you, Buck." Mercury said. "Now, addressing the evacuation of the infected communities, I think it's something might want to take seriously. And I think it's something we ought to take advantage of ASAP."
"What do you mean?" Sailor Moon asked.
"Don't you get it, don't you understand?" Mercury asked.
"Well, yeah, the infected communities will be empty, but that's only temporary." Sailor Moon said.
"You're not looking at the big picture." Mercury said. "An evacuated society means disaster for the towns and cities left behind. All six infected communities are going to be left unattended."
"We happen to be scattered out in different parts of the world and everyone here is underground in the command center." Venus said. "If what you're saying is accurate, none of us will be affected by it."
"You're still not seeing the details. I've done online research in the past on what happens to communities after an evacuation. The economic systems of towns and cities don't automatically run themselves. When society leaves, there's no one to keep things up and running. Very soon everything is going to shut down. Electricity, gas, water. All of these things are stuff people need to survive. Without them, the economies will collapse. Worse yet, all of the food in stores will eventually do bad. No power means no working refrigerators or working freezers. Which is why I think it's crucial that we should use this time to stock up." Mercury said.
"Stock up? Why? We have more than enough food and drinks as it is. More than we know what to do with, right?" Artemis said.
"Yes, for now. But eventually we'll get low. And with the new refugees here, that just gives us more mouths to feed, and it's likely they won't be the last people we rescue and bring here. Especially when the new judgements arrive. We have to be prepared ahead of time just in case. It's better safe than sorry." Mercury said.
"And don't forget about our friends in the infected communities in America, it's likely they'll be left behind. They need to know about this too." Mars added.
"Don't worry, we'll address all of this in the next entry of our Sailor Moon Says podcast." Sailor Moon said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right, Mercury. So when do we start stocking? Now?" Artemis said.
"No, not yet. Not while Tokyo is being evacuated. Once society has cleared out, then we'll head into the city and start gathering food and drinks." Mercury said.
"Sounds like a plan." Luna said. "Now, back to other important matters...let's talk about those kids and that young man you rescued from New Island. Did you share the truth with them?"
"Yeah, we did. During the flight on board the plane, Mercury played the video of the Raptured pastor Vernon Billings on all of the TVs for all of them to watch." Sailor Moon answered.
"Did any of them receive the truth?" Luna asked.
"Did any of them? Almost all of them did. As a matter of fact, Bobby-one of the two kidnappers who had abducted that bus load of kids-he was the first one to receive the truth." Jupiter said.
"Really?" Luna asked.
"Well, how about that. A criminal receives the word of truth. Hard to believe." Kenji said.
"No, that's not so un-usual. As a matter of fact, the very first person to receive the son of man was a criminal right there as he was being crucified next to him." Mercury said.
"The thief on the cross." Kenji said. Ever since the 6th Seal disaster, as well as the revelation of Usagi as Sailor Moon, he and Ikuko had read the story of the son of man from start to finish, so they knew everything there was to know about his life.
"Jupiter...you said that almost all of the kids received the truth. Which ones didn't?" Luna said.
"Just Jake. Although I don't think it's because he doesn't believe it like so many others, I think he's just sad, scared and confused." Jupiter said.
"Which is totally understandable, given everything he's been through. But I don't think he's a lost cause. He just needs love and affection, that's all." Sailor Moon added.
"Well, we can give him that, no problem." Ikuko said.
"We all can." Mayumi added.
"He's got my support." Nehelenia said.
"And mine." Idina said.
"Same with me." Kenji said.
"Same with all of us." Artemis said.
"I still can't believe Governor Carl had all those kids taken from their homes so he could make them into spies for the GC. How was he even able to pull that off?" Kenji asked.
"The GC and the New World Religion are predatory when it comes to children. Unfortunately, despite the will power of some parents trying to keep their kids safe, only a few of them are strictly against letting them attend the GC summer camps. Almost everyone else? They just let their children go with the GC. At the very most, during the other three Horsemen, the 6th Seal, and Wormwood, many of the children just ran away and got lost in the chaos. This makes for a lot of confused and overwhelmed children." Luna explained. "Think about how few end up being found. Sure, some end up home, but what the GC camps do is act as a home for them, a place with arms wide open for them to go to. They lure in unsure kids. Teens who are rebelling or homeless or orphans or boarding schoolers, military schoolers, group home kids, juvenile prison kids, boot camps, poor kids or kids looking for an escape from their dysfunctional/violent home-lives. That's how they were getting their number of children. Of course they adopt out some of the kids to other families to spy on them and determine if weather or not they're for the New World Order or not, as well as to find out if they're Christians so the GC can arrest them."
"That sounds like what they did with Jake." Uranus said.
"Yes." Luna said.
"I believe you." Sailor Moon said. "Mr. Fortunato said that the New World Religion and the GC targeted the kind of kids you mentioned. He didn't list all of the kinds you mentioned, but he did mention some of them."
"Speaking from first hand personal experience...I believe you too." Lionel added, thinking of his fake-relative and ending up at the GC camp. Boy, what a nightmare that was. Then again, that was where he met Conrad and Melinda, so he supposed it wasn't all bad.
"Yeah, me too." Vicki agreed, thinking about the time she was released from North Side Detention and adopted by Mr. Stein and his wife.
Inside the vent, Ruby and Justin exchanged surprised looks because neither one of them had ever thought of that before. It made a lot of sense to Justin though. He wound up in the foster care system after his parents were taken away by the US army and it was easy to feel lost and alone sometimes.
"How?" Mayumi asked, voicing the question everyone else seemed to be thinking.
"For the kids who are on the streets, the GC. For the environment kids, the New World Religion has a website online that displays commercials about its GC summer camps that kids can look up and enlist themselves in. A very easy thing to do, since many children have computers in their own rooms." Luna answered and explained.
"Okay, I guess I understand that part...but that still doesn't explain how Mio fits into all of this." Chloe said.
Luna turned to the screens displaying the Trib-Force units. "Many of you know the story about how the Moon Princess, once she became Sailor Moon, made it her mission to take down the Dark Kingdom. Along with Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus, she was directly responsible for the Dark Kingdom's fall four years ago when she was 14. The Outer Guardians didn't come into play until a year-and-a half later when the Death Busters reared their heads. Same can be said for the Starlights when Shadow Galatica began invading the Earth. Artemis and I were involved once we found Venus and the Moon Princess as well. Finding all five of the Inner Guardians eventually led to the defeat of the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl and Queen Metallia, who were all hiding out at the North Pole in Depot. Beryl was still quite resilient even after centuries later. Thanks to Mio's recent revelation to Saturn before the 6th Seal, we now know that she is Beryl's shadow. The last being of the Dark Kingdom."
"No one bothered to do a background check on this girl or question how she became an over-night sensation?" Conrad asked skeptically. "Why not just capture her and force the information out of her?"
"We don't condone kidnapping or torture, even if it's one of our enemies." Luna replied dryly. "In the back of our minds, Artemis and I always had a feeling that there was one being of the Dark Kingdom still at large, but we didn't bother to look into it because we didn't realize how serious it actually was. Look what that small oversight cost us. We will not be caught off guard like that again."
The Trib-Forces were silent and so was everyone in the command-room.
"Sailor Moon...you were involved in the fight against this Dark Kingdom longer than the rest of the Inners were, anything to add now?" Shelly said.
"Don't get cocky." Sailor Moon said after a moment. "Be on alert, be serious, and don't be a show-off. Show-offs lose."
"That's morbid." Buck muttered, a little louder than he meant to.
Luna started at the people on the screens with stern eyes. "Did you ever think that Beryl was once a simple human being on Earth like all of you? Beryl was a dark sorceress of a lower rank. She wasn't always the evil Queen you know her as, she used to be mortal."
The Trib-Force units looked baffled and shocked and so did the Senshi, Tuxedo Mask, the Stars and the adults.
"The Inner Senshi never mentioned that?" Luna asked, looking smug and grim. "Not surprising, since they didn't know. It's not something Artemis and I talk about often." She turned away from the screens, facing Sailor Moon and the others. "As we all know, she was in love with Prince Endimyon, the Prince of Earth, but her love went unrequited. She became obsessively jealous after finding out his love for Princess Serenity, the Moon Princess. Beryl was later corrupted by Queen Metalia, an amorphous energy being who was born from abnormal activity in the sun. She landed on Earth eons and had detected malice in Beryl's heart, which led to her corruption and the attack on the Moon Kingdom with the people of Earth. The rest, as they say, is history." The talking cat turned around to face the Trib-Forces on the screens again, her expression stern and harsh. "That's the type of enemy we're dealing with when it comes to Mio, the world leader and the GC. People who won't hesitate to go after those you love, no matter how old or young they are."
Artemis hopped onto the control-panel. "The last major disaster like that with the Dark Kingdom as the masterminds happened four years ago." He added, cutting through the tense silence. "The Inner Guardians were killed in D-point, attempting to stop them, and Sailor Moon sacrificed herself to defeat Beryl and Metalia, disbanding the Dark Kingdom...until now."
All was silent for a moment. "The hit list." Pluto asked. "What do we know about that?"
"Hit list?" The rest of the Senshi, the Star and Tuxedo Mask asked, confused.
Luna pressed a button and the middle screen on the control-panel projected a light blue screen with a clear list of names, most of them with green check-marks by them. "What we know is that everyone except for a certain group of people are listed as dead. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but most of the people on this list are dead and we're never supposed to this, so we can assume it's real."
Mercury began saying the names of the people on the list. "Dirk Burton...Todd Cothran...Jonathan Stonagal... Tsion Ben Judah's family...Bruce Barnes...Terrell Blanka...Governor Ronald Carl...Sailor Senshi...and Sailor Stars."
"What is Bruce's name doing on the list?" Mars asked, confused.
"Nicolae killed him. He had him poisoned. That was why he got sick and that's why he died." Hattie answered.
Back up in the vent, Justin inhaled sharply having heard the name of his Dad's late friend, Dirk Burton, from Mercury. Many other names were familiar, but that was the one that stood out the most to him.
"What we know is that no mayors, governors-except Ron Carl-presidents, congressmen, police officers or TV evangelists were killed. We believe this is simply due to high publicity. Most of the people on this list that were killed happened without anyone learning the real reason. Unfortunately, this also means that Bruce Barnes was a target. I think he would've been an exception even if he hadn't crossed paths with the Sailor Guardians. Without him, we would not have learned the truth behind the vanishings. Outside of him, the hit list was comprised of people either associated with the world leader, against him, or a threat to him." Luna paused and let that set in. "As we all know, the young Trib-Force are targeted as well. The only other people who are still alive on this list are you, the Sailor Senshi."
"Just a group of girls who've have just finished school?" Nada's voice asked with disbelief.
"And Japanese girls at that?" Pavel added.
Luna turned to the screens. "The Senshi are far from just Japanese teens. I'm not surprised they were on that list at all. Artemis and I strictly made certain they kept their presence localized here in Tokyo and their identities under-raps." She said, nodding at the Trib-Force units.
In the vent, Justin and Ruby both would've swore Luna's eyes flickered at them.
"The Senshi have fought in situations involving global disasters created by invaders from outer space and taking down localized enemies before, though no one knew that at the time because Artemis and I protected their existence, and they've become world renowned heroes in the eyes of some and villains to the rest of the global society since the disappearances two years ago. Always getting in someone's way for good reasons. That's the type of people Carpathia, the GC, Mio and the New World Religion getting in the way of their plan. They're targeting people like the believers and the Sailor Senshi. People who would never turn to their side." Luna explained.
Up in the vent with Justin, having heard everything Luna just said, that made a lot of sense to Ruby, who ignored the heavy silence that fell over the room below. Sailor Moon and the other Guardians would never help the bad guys and would fight tooth and nail to stop their plans. They were doing that very thing right now.
"But there is something we can do regarding another situation. We can prove that Mio killed Governor Carl." Sailor Moon said.
"I'm afraid that's going to be a lot harder to do. Especially now, since the police have already made an arrest in the case." Luna said.
"Really, who?" Sailor Moon asked. Someone had already been arrested for the murder of Governor Carl? How had she missed that? And why was she just now hearing about it?
"I'm afraid it's not good. It's Laura." Luna said.
"What?!" Ikuko gasped.
"No way!" Sailor Moon added.
"Laura was arrested?" Venus asked.
"Yes. Law enforcement picked her up earlier today and charged her with the crime, as well as the two of you." Luna explained to Sailor Moon and Venus. "According to the News earlier today, an unknown witness came forward and said that Laura conspired with you two to kill her abusive husband...and as a result...a warrant has been issued for both of your arrests."
"Are you kidding me right now?!" Kenji asked.
"I wish I was." Luna said.
"This is like the situation with my Mom all over again." Darrion said.
"I'll bet I know who that unknown witness is." Fighter said.
"I'll bet I know too." Healer added.
"As do I." Maker said.
"Mio." The Starlights concluded.
The GNN NEWS title then appeared on one of the other screens, getting the attention of everyone in the command-room.
"Now what?" Uranus asked, annoyed.
The GNN NEWS title was then replaced an American anchor-man sitting at his desk. "Breaking News happening right now." The anchor-man began. "We are receiving reports from Birmingham-Alabama about a mysterious white object floating over the city. It appears to be metallic and of a considerable size. Online, social media has been awash with panic and speculation as these images spread like wild-fire. The potentate has authorized NASA to attempt communication with the white object that is on our planet, and there are currently five of the others over the other infected communities. Take a look at these six social media videos recorded by citizens the potentate is addressing as...the moon alien spaceships."
The scene then changed to six images of six white massive spaceships floating over the infected communities. The one that stood out before the gang, however, was the one over Tokyo.
"It's right over us." Sailor Moon said.
"Are you all seeing this?" Tuxedo Mask asked.
"Yeah." Rayford said, baffled.
"So are we." Vicki added.
"US too." Lionel said.
"Same here." Judd said.
"Me too." Buck said.
"Another trick by The Dark One." Pluto said grimly.
"They sure are fond of the Moon extraterrestrial gimmick." Umino quipped.
Everyone stared at one another nervously, including the Trib-Forces on the screens, and Justin shifted in the vent a bit. Ruby looked at him and he motioned behind him, slowly backing up and turning around. She wanted to argue, but still turned and followed him out of the air-vents and back into the storage-room, landing on the dresser, followed by Ruby picking up the grate and placing it back on the vent opening before she and Justin hopped onto the floor.
"Why did we leave?" Ruby asked.
"I don't think we needed to hear anything else." Justin admitted with a grimace. "They said enough to know that it's really bad."
"What is? Everything that's happening?" Ruby didn't quite understand and she didn't like not understanding.
Justin shook his head. "They said enough to know that they already lost America."
"We've gotta share this with the others, come on." Ruby said before she and Justin ran up to the door, followed by her opening it, and they exited the room, Justin closed the door back, and then they ran off to reunite with the other kids and to share everything they had learned.
Luna and Artemis then heard gasping sounds and turned to face the others, revealing Sailor Moon to be the source of the gasping, as if she were having an asthma attack.
"Sailor Moon, breathe." Tuxedo Mask urged the Moon Princess, grabbing her shoulders and turning her around so that she was facing him, then he put his hands on her cheeks. "He's lying. You didn't cause the epidemic or the global winter. None of us did. He's-"
"I know we're not to blame for those things. But it's because of what we did to New Island when we saved those kids and Bobby. I mean, I'm glad they all received the word of truth we shared with them on the plane, but..." Sailor Moon said, tears streaking down her face and onto Tuxedo Mask's gloved hands. "that awful man, he's...he's going after the believers and our supporters for that!"
Tuxedo Mask pulled the blond Senshi close, hugging her tightly, and Kenji and Ikuko joined in on the hug.
"No one would dare stop what he's doing." Sam said, his face pale. "That is, if a group of superheroes' actions-our actions-warrant the perception of countless people-"
"Sam!" Lionel snapped at the boy, who winced, realizing what he spoke into existence.
"I'm just repeating what he said, I don't believe it! Sailor Moon, it can't be your fault." Sam said.
"An immediate evacuation of all the infected communities? Something this...This epidemic can't be that serious, I...it can't be." Uranus said. Her eyes met Mercury's. "Why would something like this happen to America? It's a faith-based country."
Mercury was silent for a moment. "I don't know." She really didn't, especially since the USA was a once a nation founded on faith. Yet this disaster still befell it. Why?
"Has there been any news about any of the churches and TV ministries in Jerusalem?" Saturn asked suddenly, changing the subject.
"The churches and TV ministries of Jerusalem are completely on our side and the side of the truth, but many in America?"
Pluto shook her head. "They're playing it safe. They're giving in to Mio and signing their churches and ministries over to her and the One World Religion. Letting things ride smoothly. They'll protect themselves, their families and friends, but they're also enablers. The Dark One secretly has it in for all who have truly believe in the true Messiah, and we all know it. The New World Religion seems to have focused on the churches and TV ministries of America rather than both America and Jerusalem. That could be due to a number of attendees and viewers."
"It could be a strategy?" Jupiter suggested. "The churches and TV ministries in Jerusalem have defended well, but America's slowly becoming a mess, and so is Tokyo, where the "Asteroid Virus" is concerned. And with these immediate evacuation having been announced, people might start to think there's no hope for these infected towns and cities."
Luna and Artemis turned back to Sailor Moon and the others and stared at them with hard eyes.
"Unfortunately, we were very unprepared for this. The number of infected communities in America outnumber us right now, and aside from Israel in Jerusalem, the other nations aren't offering up much in the way of help. This whole thing was highly planned and organized." Luna explained.
"So what can we do to help the United States?" Sailor Moon asked and wondered.
"We have new friends that are on our side in four of the six infected communities in the USA, but are staying low for now. I'm sure they're all working over-time to find and keep other kids safe. But we don't have an antidote for the virus though. For now, we can do nothing." Mercury explained and admitted.
D-point, North Pole...
The North Pole, also known as the Geographic North Pole, Terrestrial North Pole of 90th Parallel North, was the point in the Northern Hemisphere where the Earth's axis of rotation meets it's surface. It was called the True North Pole to distinguish from the Magnetic North Pole. This was also where Sailor Moon and the Inner Guardians fought and defeated the Dark Kingdom four years ago. The place where the Moon Princess had battled against Queen Beryl and Metallia and won.
Up in the snowy mountains, Mio's castle was parked on top of a large frozen gold Hydra Dragon robot, with just it's eight heads, wings and back sticking out of the snow, as well as the fact that it's eyes were closed. This was the place the castle had come and landed after escaping New Island in New Zealand on Mio's orders. The North Pole.
Inside the castle, in a room designed to look like Beryl's lair, Mio sat on the replica of the late evil Queen's throne, resting her arms on it's arms, with her legs crossed, and Leon, Viv, Jezel and Jacks just stood around.
"Sailor Moon and the Sailor Senshi." Mio said. "It seems we can't escape our fate to keep dealing with them."
"Just give the order and we'll lure them into an ambush." Leon said.
"No, wait." Mio said. "There's something more serious than these Japanese vigilantes."
"What?" Leon and the others said.
"Governor Carl's GC Spy Kids Project has been disbanded along with the GC summer camps because of the Senshi. Those kids were the GC's secret weapon. And a secret weapon is our life. We were able to fish out many religious rebels and get them off the streets, thanks to them. Not only that. After the asteroid epidemic in five states of the U-S and Tokyo-Japan, we were able to recruit more kids, who lost their parents to the epidemic, into the New World Religion. That is, until the Senshi took them from us. These costumed vigilantes will also be dealt with as well." Mio said.
"Nicolae ruling the world is meaningless if these vigilante Asian girls keep getting in the way." Viv said.
The double-doors then opened and in walked Daniel Thomas, the mayor of Arkon, Ohio, wearing a tuxedo, a black tie and black shoes. "Jezel, Jacks, hi. So this is who you've been working for all these months. I love the...Halloween decorating, if that's what you call this."
Jezel grinned. "You've got a lot of nerve coming here. Especially after you replaced us with those other two GC losers. You said that you wanted to...What was that he said, Jacks?"
"Golly, Jezel, you know, so much has happened since then, I can't even remember." Jacks said. "Didn't he say he could just, uh...face the moon aliens without us?" He said. "How'd that work out for ya?"
"I guess that just goes to show you how easily anyone can be beaten by the moon invaders. Doesn't it...mayor Thomas?" Jezel said.
"That's fair, I suppose. I can see why you would be mad...but a lot has happened since I let the two of you go." He said before turning his back on the group. "Especially since Sailor Moon and Venus took my ex-wife and children from me."
"Wait." came female voice.
Daniel turned around to face the group, and a camera lens built into the wall above the throne projected a large holographic head-shot image of Queen Beryl, then mirage images of Jedite, Nephrite, Zoisite and Kunzite appeared in the room, all glowing a faint light. "Who are all of you?" The mayor asked.
"Sorry, mayor, that's classified information." Mio said.
"That means it's just between her and the Potentate...and myself." Leon said.
"And me." Viv added.
"Did you say...Sailor Moon?" Beryl asked.
"Yes." Daniel answered. "I'm not just looking for more GC assistance.. Not anymore. I need someone dynamic and powerful. I need someone that would be willing to...destroy...Sailor Moon."
"Mister...you came to the right place." Said Beryl, with a smirk on her face.
"Hahahahaha." Jedite, the other three Dark Kingdom generals and everyone else in the room laughed, minus Daniel.
"So will you do it?" Daniel asked.
Mio was silent for a moment. "Our ways are better." She began. "We're gonna get 'er." The 18-year old Japanese girl finished, with an evil grin on her face. "Hahahahaha."
"Hahahahaha." The others laughed.
"You can count on us." Jedite said.
Daniel paused for a moment. "Perfect." He said, with a smug expression on his face.
Sailor Moon says
My friends and I learned a lot on our assignment today. Such as leadership and what it truly means to be a leader. There are a lot of people in the world that are leaders. And there is some good in all of them.
But that doesn't mean that all leaders lead by good example. There are bad leaders in the world just as there are good ones. For this I must speak out honestly: The world leader, Nicolae Carpathia, the governor of Indiana, Ron Carl, and the mayor of Arkon, Ohio, Daniel Thomas, fall under the category of bad leadership.
Leaders may be very powerful, rich, wealthy people...but that doesn't give them the right to be cruel or to mistreat the citizens under them.
Being a leader myself, the leader of the Sailor Senshi, I work alongside my comrades and how they fight off evil and help those in need to make the world a better place. Because that's what true leaders must do. Genuine leaders want to serve society, not have society serve them.
Here is my friend, Sailor Jupiter, to give her a chance to speak.
Hey all, Sailor Jupiter here. I'm gonna address another word and theme: siblings.
There are all kinds of siblings in the world. Older siblings...oldest siblings...younger siblings...youngest siblings...step-siblings...and adopted siblings. The older and oldest siblings are usually in charge of the younger and youngest ones. But that doesn't mean the older and oldest should bully or intimidate them in any way. For example, Hasan may have been the older brother, but he abused the powers of that privilege and forced his younger brother into helping him abduct a bus load of kids to get their oldest brother out of prison.
It's not right to bully your younger and youngest siblings or vice versa into doing wrong things just because they're the eldest or youngest. But there is no excuse for you bullying them into doing something you know is wrong. True older and oldest siblings set good examples, not bad ones. Hasan and his two brothers may have grown up together under the same roof with the same parents...but somewhere along the way, two of those siblings forgot what it meant to be brothers. The oldest is still behind bars...and the older one...is gone forever.
Sailor Moon again, and before you make more assumptions, I assure you that my fellow senshi and I are not responsible for the spaceships in the skies of the infected communities, we will find out who is and put a stop to it. I'm here with a warning to all parents concerning the New World Religion and the GC summer camps on TV. They are not what they claim to be. Families don't trust either of these units with the well-fare of your children, even if they're rebellious. They turn kids into spies for the Global Community and use them to do their dirty work to smoke out believers. If you don't see that as a problem here's another detail: They also brainwash them to be the perfect children, but trying to make them perfect would do great harm to them all. There's no such as the perfect child. It doesn't exist. No one is perfect, except for those who are currently in Heaven. I urge you to make a decision now and receive the Son of man while you're still alive and able to do so. Figure out who's side you're on before it's too late.
Greetings America, this is an emergency broadcast. If you can please listen carefully. I am Sailor Mercury and one of the Guardians of Earth. As you've probably deduced, I work with Sailor Moon and the rest of the Senshi.
One week ago, there was an asteroid disaster that hit Alabama, Texas, Indiana, New Mexico and Tokyo-Japan and infected many adults by releasing a purple smoke into the sky that turns them against all children, including their own. The same can be said for Arkon-Ohio as of today. My comrades and I don't know a lot about the virus, but I can share what we do know. It is airborne and it targets all adults. Now, to the younger listeners, if you or someone you know are infected, you need to find and take medicine. You're not immune to the smoke and that you only carry it inside until you reach adulthood. Do not let the virus linger until it takes over, as there is no cure. The virus turns the victim immediately on their 20th birthday at the exact time of their birth and is proceeded by their eyes glowing purple. Once someone turns, they attack every child in their sight. Children, if you breath in the smoke, regardless of it not taking affect, you will be infected too. If you encounter one of these infected adults, do not to attempt to communicate or reason with them. Run away and find some place safe to hide in. Assuming most of you have seen the News regarding the epidemic, please not to get the vaccine Dr. Rosenzweig created in a matter of one week. He's a fine man, but the vaccine isn't foolproof. It is not safe and it has not been tested efficiently to assure that it's safe.
To the new friends me and the rest of the Senshi have made in four of the infected communities. To the young one who will likely be left behind, if you think you can just ride this out until government assistance arrives, I'd advise against it. The world leader has issued an immediate evacuation of all the infected communities.
No help will be coming. This virus is going to change everything, your home-towns and cities as you know them are over. From this moment forward, for all intents and purposes... you are on their own. I know this is not an easy thing to hear, but it's the new present. I bid you all in the United States farewell, may Heaven be with you all...and may God have mercy on America.
To be continued…
