Fuecoco was definitely an interesting partner Pokémon. Mostly in that, he didn't seem to do much of… well anything.

He seemed content just to laze around the only thing he enjoyed was eating since he wolfed down several sticks of celery Florian was gonna use lunches.

He didn't know if that was good for Fuecoco but he seemed to enjoy it.

"All that's missing is a nickname" Florian wondered well he was getting ready in the morning.

Like he did most mornings he put some of his favorite music on in the background.

That seemed to perk Fuecoco up and he began belting out an offtone attempt to copy the melody of the song.

That gave him an idea for Fuecoco's nickname.

"Iglesias, that's a great nickname"

He wasn't 100 percent sure that he had made the right choice with Fuecoco, but his enjoyment of singing was definitely a sign in the right direction.

He noticed a single message on his phone.

Javier-You there

Florian-Ya

Javier-Meet me outside in 10

Florian's heart started fluttering. He had never gone out with friends before it just wasn't something he was into.

But he had promised to make an effort to branch out more and how could he say no when the opportunity came to him?

Florian-Okay I'll be ready

Florian spent the next 10 minutes frantically making sure he looked presentable for his friend.

Those 10 minutes flew and Florian was out the door before he knew it.

"Alright where is he should be here any moment"

The sound of tires squealing on the pavement got his attention and Javier arrived on a decked-out bicycle.

Florian was taken aback by the fact that this was Javier's ride.

"Well don't just stand there get on"

"Like the same seat as you?"

"Ya where else are you gonna sit"

Florian hurriedly jumped on not wanting to waste his friend's time.

"All right you might want to hold on" The bike goes a lot faster than a normal bike should go and Florian does find himself holding on for dear life.

The bike skids to a halt at a small patch of trees behind the school where there's a small group of people sitting around.

"Hey, Javier!" a girl with the same helmet runs over and gives them both a hug.

"You must be that Florian kid Javier was telling me about"

"Ya that's me"

"You're the one he said he has a good taste in music"

"Ya, I guess although music is subjective right?"

His taste in music was also something he hadn't shared with anybody but if they seemed to like it that was a rare social point for him.

"This is my friend Ana she likes to give people hugs"

Now came the hardest part Florian.

Talking.

He was just standing there like a tree not making conversation which was not what he wanted.

He took in a deep breath and decided to say something.

"Those are some pretty cool bikes you got there"

"Oh ya you should have seen how long it took us to deck those out"

Florian felt like he had heard about things like this before, the goggles and rolled-up sleeves were also reminding him of something.

"Do bike you bike Florian?" Javier asked.

"Ya I do but mine is just a normal bike and it's at my parent's house"

"You know if you brought it here we could trick it out for ya"

Florian's mind started racing "This is what friends do finally I finally feel normal!"

"Of course, we can do it tomorrow today if you want my last class is at 03:30 we can go after that"

"You still want to go to class?" Ana asked.

"Hey if he wants to go to class let him I don't mind taking him" Javier laughed.

"Alright here we are" Javier announced.

They weren't exactly there since Javier dropped him off a ways off from the school but Florian wasn't going to question it.

"All right I'll see you after school"

"Kay see ya later Florian" Javier petteled off.

"That was weird," Florian thought to himself.

"Maybe they both have class later in the day"

"But their helmets the glasses the uniforms that all match with… Team Star"

Florian didn't want to think the worst about his new friends but everything he'd seen was matching with the infamous gang of delinquents he'd occasionally heard his mother gossip about with her friends.

Despite a clear distaste for them, his parents never gave him any talks about Team Star or told him to stay away from them.

"They probably didn't think they needed to worry about it, that I was too good of a kid already that it wasn't necessary"

"Or that I was too shy to talk to a bunch of delinquents like them"

Both were probably true. He was too shy to talk to people like them or most people in general.

They had been the ones to come on to them.

"Are they trying to take advantage of me? Get a shy kid who doesn't know any better into their gang?"

"No that can be right Javiers been so nice to me and Ana doesn't seem like a bad person either they don't sound like how my mother described Team Star at all"

"And I don't want to lose the only friends that I've made"

Florian wasn't going to let go of the only friends he had just made because of some narrow-minded assumptions.

He had to get to his first class so he would put this at the back of his mind.

But he was certain that he would be meeting his friends after his last class.

Not a lot to say about this chapter just how Florian's first day went somewhat based on my own struggle to interact with people as a teen and still sometimes today

The next chapter will focus on how Julianna's first chapter went
