Chapter 6 – Surprise Call
The night fall with the storm approaching. At that moment, the wind was blowing strongly outside, while Luke and Ines were already other the covers. After making love after a long time without doing it, Luke were enjoying kissing his wife. Pulling apart, he ran his hand through her sweat hair with a smile on his face.
"Do you know what is the best thing of a fight?" he asked her making her giggle.
"The making up part?"
He nod laughing, pulling her closer to him.
"Exactly!"
"I agree!" she nod, hearing the wind outside. "The wind is really strong. Is R2 okay?"
"Don't worry, he is in the garage getting some power." he replied kissing her forehead.
"I'm glad R2 is fine!"
After a few minutes of silence, Luke spoke, while Ines had her head on his chest.
"Babe I was thinking here, that I think it is time to get back home to Naboo. I miss everyone, especially our kids and our cat, so I'm going with you."
Ines raised her head and looked at him.
"Really? I'm glad. To be honest I was surprise you didn't bring your X-Wing to come here!"
"My X-Wing need some check so I decided to the bring our ship instead cause I know you and kids could go to Naboo with your brother."
"You know the kids will be so happy to see you, cause they miss you like crazy!"
"I miss them too. And I was also thinking of something and I want to know if you agree to do this with me," he said looking at her.
"What is it?"
"How about when we arrive in Naboo, we do a checkup. Make tests to see if is everything okay and we can relax once and for all."
Ines was surprised to hear that from him.
"You would do that?"
"Of course. If something is not okay at least we will know and we will stop wondering. If everything is fine, then even better."
Ines stood in silence for a few seconds. In a way she had thought of that too.
"I agree. Let's do that," she smiled.
"Great. Now let's sleep cause I'm sure tomorrow Leia will call again to see if everything is okay and we need to tell her she was right and we know what she will do!" he said making Ines laugh.
"Yup I know."
"Goodnight babe." he said kissing her and both slept in each other arms while the storm continue outside.
Next day:
Luke woke up in the morning realizing the wind slow down. He was sure there was sand everywhere, but he was glad that he at least covered the vaporizers. Stretching himself on the bed, he look to the left and smiled, when saw his wife still sleeping on her stomach, with the covers only reaching her waist, letting her naked back expose.
Leaning down, he kissed her back, making her move.
"Is it morning already?" she asked opening her eyes.
"Yes it is and we had to clean the place cause I'm pretty sure there is sand everywhere."
Rolling on her back, she looked at him.
"And we need to warn Leia that we are going back in a few days."
Luke groan making Ines laughed, since she knew why he did that.
"Hey we need to tell them." she continued.
"You know she will realized everything is okay now between us and we know she will tell us that she was right after all and she will not stop talking about it."
"Hey, let her get that reward. She deserves it this time."
Rolling his eyes and nod.
"Then let's do that, cause we need to start to pack our things."
Getting up, they took a shower and like Luke predicted, the place was filled with sand from the sandstorm, and they needed to clean the place, before taking the power from R2, who beeped happy rolling behind them all the time they were cleaning the place, after taking breakfast.
Before they started to pack, they decided to contacted Naboo first.
After a few beeps, Leia's image appeared on the hologram.
"Hey, look who is here?" she said. "How is everything?"
Luke and Ines looked at each other with a smile on their faces, making Leia nod.
"Okay, don't need to tell me. I can see everything is okay now and you're welcome." she said making Luke glare at his twin sister image.
"How are our kids?" he asked.
"They are fine. Don't worry, they miss you, but they are okay."
"Good, we are calling cause we are leaving to Naboo tomorrow. It is time to be with all of you. After all Freedom Day is in 2 weeks and it is time to return." Luke informed her.
"Great, about time." she said. "Don't worry I will tell them everything is fine and you two are coming back. They will be so happy!"
"Tell them we love them and see you all soon." Ines asked.
"Don't worry I will." she said before the hologram disappeared.
Luke looked at Ines.
"I think it is time for us to started get everything ready cause I want to leave. I miss our kids and Spots."
Nodding Ines smiled and as they were about to stand up and head to the bedroom, the communication device started to beep again. Frowning, Luke press the button and to their surprise Boba's face appeared in the hologram.
"Boba?" Luke asked.
"Hey, I hope I didn't call at the wrong time." he said.
"No actually. Is everything okay?" Ines said.
Fennec's image appeared next to Boba.
"Hey Luke, Ines. Answering your question, we don't know for now."
"What do you mean?" Luke frown at that statement.
"We know you are here in Tatooine, and we think it is better for us to speak in person instead through a device. Maybe you two can have some lunch today, here in my place." Boba said making Luke and Ines looked at each other quickly.
"Sure!" Luke nod.
"Yeah, I mean I never was inside the palace and to be honest I'm very curious to see how it looks inside." Ines said right away.
"Great. Then we will be waiting for you in 3 hours. If that is okay?"
"Yeah. We will be there." Luke said.
"See you then!" Boba said and his and Fennec's image vanish.
"That was weird," Ines said "What happened that they couldn't tell us by the device?"
"I don't know but we will find out soon but I sense is not great news." Luke replied looking at Ines, while R2 beeped in a tone that they both he was agreeing with them.
