Chapter 10 – With Friends
Ines got out of the bathroom after taking a nice shower and couldn't help but smile when saw the most cure scenery on hers and Luke's bed.
Her husband was sleeping, laying on his back with Luke and Alli on his right side, while Padmé and Ben were on his left side, everyone taking a nice nap. Even Spots were on top of his chest, sleeping peacefully.
"Well I see I don't have room to lay down!" she said to herself, but she didn't mind. Slowly she walked out of the bedroom and decided to went downstairs.
The mansion was very quiet which indicated that the majority of its residents were also taking a nice afternoon nap. The weather outside was a little cloudy but it was a very hot say, which normally always indicate that soon it would chance and storms would appear.
When she reached the living room she found Luma alone, reading a book she took from the huge library that the mansion had.
"Hey, I thought you were resting!" she said when she saw Ines sitting across her.
"I wanted but the bed is all occupied, by kids and cat!" she replied making Luma laugh.
"The kids missed Luke a lot." she said making Ines nod.
"What about you? What are you reading?"
Luma looked at the book she had in her hands.
"Oh a book about the history of Varykino that I never knew it existed. I love reading old books instead of grabbing the pads."
"I know what you mean. The Palace in Alderaan had an amazing library too, filled with books like that one, and I loved taking one and go to my bedroom and read before bed." Ines smiled remembering those times.
"Well I think Ben took that from you. I see him in library choose a book to read. And he reads fast. You know your son is gifted."
"Luke and I figured it out since he was a little boy. But we also told him that he can play too with other kids. He has a lot of time to be an adult. And I think he understood."
"He did. He is playing a lot with other kids, especially in the water. He is a fun boy." Luma smiled.
"Where is Reed?"
"Oh, he went with your brother and father and with Han and Chewie to the local bar. They started to do that every day after lunch. Men!" she answered.
They heard noise coming from the stairs and looking at it, they saw Ken, coming down from it with a towel in his hands.
"Hey buddy, I was wondering where you were that you didn't even bother to come and say hi to your aunt!" Ines said with a smile when the 13 years old boy came towards her and sit next her.
"Sorry but I was getting ready."
"I see that. Going for a swim?" Ines asked.
"With Cindel, Luna and Davi!"
"Davi already arrived?" she asked looking at him and to Luma.
"Yes, they arrived a few days ago." Luma replied.
"I'm happy that his parents are giving another change to their wedding," Ines said.
For the past months Davi parents were trying to give another change on their wedding after years of being separated, and she was happy for them, especially for Davi, since the kid was way happier.
"Me too. And you know that is something that will never going to happen between you and uncle Luke."
"What?"
"Going separate ways. You know that you need to stop worried about uncle Luke leaving you."
Ines glare at Luma and then to her nephew.
"Or really? And how are you so sure, mister?"
"Come on aunt Ines, do you really think that the force, would allow you two be away from each other, after it made sure your faiths were intertwine even before you two were born?," Ken replied. "Beside the force knows that you two are strong but together you are stronger and even your enemies know that, that is why they fear you the most."
Ines smile at that.
"And you are sure about this because…"
"Because I trust the force and knows what it is doing. I think you need to stop doubt it and have a little trust in it too."
Luma giggled at that remark.
"Since when you are the adult here?" Ines laughed at her nephew.
"I'm not 7 years old anymore. I'm 13 now."
"I know and I hate that, cause it means I'm getting old!" Ines winked at him with a smile.
"Come on aunt Ines, you continue as beautiful as the day you and uncle Luke and uncle Han and Chewie went to pick us up."
Pulling the kids towards her, she kissed his forehead.
"Smart nephew you have there," Luma nod.
"I know." Ines smiled.
"Ken are you ready?" they heard Cindel and looking at the door, they saw the 13 years old blonde girl.
The moment she saw Ines she smiled and approached them.
"Master Ines. Glad to see you return."
"Hello Cindel. How is everyone?"
"We are fine," the girl replied. "Come on we are waiting for you," she said looking at Ken.
Ines reached her nephew ear and whispered at it.
"You better go with your girlfriend buddy!" she said winked when the boy glare at her.
"Aunt Ines!" he said standing up and leave with Cindel.
"Have fun and be careful!" Ines said that them seeing the two teenagers leaving the place.
"Your nephew is really a nice kid!" Luma smiled at Ines, which made Ines happy.
"Yes he is, and for a long time I thought I lost him and his parents. But it was one of the good thing that my brother Edmar did, save them."
Luma looked at Ines. It was the first time she heard Ines talked about her other older brother.
"I'm sorry about your brother. I know that deep inside you miss him!"
Ines sighed and looked at down at her hands for a minute.
"Me too. But he did his choice, to bad he didn't realize it was the bad one, but at least he died being the brother I always remembered, the protective one."
Luma didn't say anything but she understood what Ines meant.
The they heard a grunt and both looked back at the stairs seeing Leia, walking slowly down the stairs.
The moment they saw her, both women went towards her, helping her.
"What are you doing? I thought you were resting?" Ines said to her sister in law, while they helped her sitting on the couch.
"I thought too but your niece and future Goddaughter decided she had enough rest for the afternoon and decided to doing some martial arts inside my womb!" Leia said with a grunt, making Ines and Luma giggled at that.
"I don't miss that part to be honest!" Ines admitted.
"Me neither, and you my dear friend, you are giggling, just wait when your time comes!" Leia said looking at Luma.
"Oh I know, but for now Reed and I decided that we will wait until we celebrate one year of marriage. We want to have some time just for ourselves."
"Nice choice!" Leia said with a sighed.
"When is the due time?" Luma asked Leia looking at her big belly.
"Well our doctor back in Coruscant said I still have 6 weeks."
"But you are here. Are you saying your daughter will be from Naboo like her cousins?" Luma winked at Ines.
"I don't know. I just hope at least I can have her in a hospital cause I can't imagine going into labor and don't have time to go the hospital and have to give birth here, without medical assistance."
"What is that supposed to mean? Yolla is an amazing midwife. She was the one who helped me to give birth to Ben here in this mansion, and she didn't do with the twins cause those girls couldn't wait and their father had to delivery them."
Leia looked at Ines. She knew how much Ines respected Yolla.
"I know and I didn't meant that. I trust Yolla, but I can't go through a natural labor!"
Ines looked at Luma.
"Come Leia, a woman who could handle an Empire and a mind control droid, can surely handle a birth without medication!" Luma said making Leia grunt and pout, which made Ines and Luma laughed.
"Besides we will be there alongside your mother. When I get pregnant again, I really hope the birth will be when we are here, cause I want Yolla to do it. I was sad that Lukey didn't born in this beautiful place," Ines said.
"Speaking of getting pregnant, are you going to tell us how everything went between you and Luke?" Leia asked.
With a smile, Ines starting to tell what happened and when Luke's idea, while everyone in the mansion was having their afternoon nap.
What did you think of Ken thought towards her aunt and uncle? Do you think he was right to think that?
