Universe: Strenght is a Huntsmen Virtue

"Now students, who can tell me the most important virtue of a Huntsman? Come now there are no right or wrong answers"

Such a simple question leaves those in the classroom contemplating everything that they think is the answer. Yang just passively listens through every answer that her fellow huntsman-in-training. She wants to answer but like some of the students in class, she too is confused as to her belief of what a huntsman is. But one answer stood out from everything, not because of the answer but more so from who said the answer

"Strenght"

And it seems she wasn't the only one that was shocked by the answer. If it was from anybody else, everyone, including her, would just dismiss it as an arrogant jerk that doesn't know better. But no, the one that spoke was none other than Jaune 'Vomit Boy' Arc. The one boy who was always known to be kind and friendly to everyone and manages to mellow down Cardin even after the whole bullying fiasco. After a few seconds of silence, the first person that breaks the tension would be Doctor Oobleck.

"...An interesting answer that I would have not expected from you Mr. Arc," Oobleck said, "Would you explain your opinion of the matter?"

"...Umm... I mean, at first, if someone said that all that matter is strength, I would say that's wrong," Jaune started, looking less nervous after each second, "But lately as I study here, Strenght is the most important thing a huntsman need to live. The strong survive after all."

Hearing that last bit, Yang clutches her hand as she felt boiling rage, her eyes turning from their beautiful lilac color into a fiery red. That saying reminded her of a certain someone who abandoned her just because her family was weak. She was about ready to confront Jaune's beliefs.

"But maybe because of that, the strong is the only one who can survive all the hardship life throws at us," Jaune continues, "Because a huntsman needs to have the strength to choose that hardest decision, the strength to continue and stand up even after disaster falls upon them, the strength to keep their belief and will. Huntsmen are strong, that's why we are the ones that protect humanity and the weak. So because of those, I believe that the most important virtue of a huntsman is their Strenght."

Silence. The whole class just stares at Jaune. Yang's rage recedes as she began to stare in awe at Jaune's explanation of the huntsman's virtue. Until someone clapped, a single student smiled as he gave applause to Jaune. One by one, every single student that attends the class clapped at Jaune, some more enthusiastic than the rest (Ruby and Nora), Weiss and Ren give small smiles while softly applauding, even Blake put down her book and gave a nod of approval. Even Doctor Oobleck clapped along while smiling.

"...well said Mr. Arc, well said," Oobleck said, The bell began to ring, "Well, that is it for class, I will see all of you next time in class."

Everyone gathered their belonging and exited the classroom for lunch. Jaune walked out of the class only to be pulled aside by Yang.

"W-what? Yang!"

"Don't worry Vomit boy, I just wanna ask a question,"

Calming down a little from the slight fright, Jaune said, "Alright, anything you need Yang?"

"When did you start thinking like that during Oobleck's class?"

"You mean about Strenght?"

"Yeah, that,"

Jaune look up, thinking a while before answering Yang

"I think it started after the whole Cardin debacle," Jaune started, "At first, I thought that having a good heart and the want to help others is what makes a good Huntsmen, but after that debacle, I realize even if I have the will and want to protect and help people, if I'm not strong enough to protect them then I'm just as useless as before. I realize I need to be strong to uphold my belief and to have a strong mind to not be easily tricked again. Huntsmen need Strenght in heart, mind, and body,"

Jaune explained his belief. Yang stares at the determined face of Jaune for a few seconds, she felt a bit flustered looking at Jaune as she steps back a few. Looking down, Yang was conflicted for a second before looking back at Jaune with a small smile on her face.

"Thank you Jaune, guess I need to think about what you said," Yang said, tucking her hair behind her ear, "Guess I'm not strong enough huh?

"It's okay, it's not like I suddenly strong," Jaune chuckled a bit, "Besides, I think you're stronger than you think Yang,"

Jaune said as he walk away while waving at Yang before turning his back to her, not noticing the full face blush on Yang's face as she tried to stammer a few words.

After a small conversation with Yang, Jaune decided to go to his dorm room. Sitting on his bed with his scroll beside him, Jaune is contemplating hard on his next course of action. Gathering his courage, Jaune dialed the number and waited for a few seconds before it was answered.

"Jonathan Arc,"

Taking a deep breath, Jaune spoke, "Hello dad,"

"Hello Jaune, it's been a while, how's Beacon?"

"It's, It's great, I've learned a lot of things, make new friends, killing Grimm, it's amazing here," Jaune went on a ramble about his life in Beacon until Jonathan cut him off mid-sentence.

"Jaune, why now you just called ever since you ran from home?"

The question that Jaune anticipated. He could just lie and said that he forgot. He could say that his scroll was broken. He thought that his dad was busy and didn't want to bother him. But ultimately, Jaune decided to just tell the truth.

"Because I'm scared dad, I'm scared that you all will hate me for running away from home, I'm scared that you would demand that I went back to the house, to see the disappointment in your eyes," Jaune said, "Because I was the same weak Jaune from before. I'm not strong enough to have the courage to talk to you." Jaune looks down struggling to keep his emotion in check.

The silence was the only response Jonathan gave. After a few seconds, Jonathan spoke, "...The fact that you manage to call me shows that you are strong enough to face me, Jaune you're not the same as before, You are stronger."

Jaune shot up to look at his father in disbelief.

"Not only that, you showed me that you are strong enough to survive Beacon, to show the headmaster your worth," Jonathan stopped a moment, "To show me how wrong I was, and I have never been more of you son," Jonathan smiled brightly at Jaune.

Jaune saw his father's expression and smiled widely back at him. After that, the two would continue to spend the past hour catching up on what is going on in both of their life. Jaune noticed the clock that in an hour combat class was about to start.

"Hey, dad, Could you do me a favor,"

"Yeah what is it?"

The training arena is in full spirit as students are motivated and determined after the speech given by their very own Jaune Arc. One after another, each spar gives it their all as they fight with their full potential. Glynda has never seen all of her students with such spirit, and she has to thank Jaune for this. From what Oobleck told her, this is because of Jaune that everyone wants to uphold the virtue that Jaune shows. Speak of the devil, the next match is Jaune.

"Final match of today's class, Blake Belladonna VS. Jaune Arc, please prepare yourself for the coming fight,"

Even though everyone knew the difference in combat prowess between the two has quite a gap, everyone began to see Jaune in a new light. Everyone wants to see the determination that Jaune spoke of. After waiting for a while, the first one to be ready in the arena was Blake, adjusting her ribbon on Gambol Shroud. The sound of footsteps echoes from the hallway, a sound of machines softly whirling confusing everyone in the room, because to everyone's knowledge Jaune mostly uses traditional weaponry with a small amount of machinery.

Emerging from the hallway and standing across Blake, Jaune arc stood in his usual attire but one key difference is his weapon. Instead of his signature sword and shield, his right arm to his shoulder is covered with a large gold, silver, and black gauntlet that reaches his leg. On his left hand a glove with four capsules with a small red light on each capsule on top of his knuckle. All in all, Jaune looks more powerful than before. Glynda snap out of her stupor and asked the two combatants to get ready.

"Tournaments rule, the first to reach the red or out of bounds loses, "Glynda prepared the match, and the display of both combatants appears on the screen, "Begin."

Blake ran to the side and immediately fires a barrage of fire dust at Jaune who in response covered himself with his gauntlet as a light blue hue appear on the gaps of the gauntlet, with each hit brought the blue light brighter and brighter until the small arc of electricity travels the surface of the gauntlet. Aiming his left fist at Blake, a four-rounds of fire dust pellets blasted toward her as each fire slightly missed her, Blake uses her Semblance on the fourth pellet to dodge it and disappear from Jaune's sight.

Appearing behind Jaune, Blake continues to fire a barrage of fire dust and disappears each time Jaune aimed. Jaune could only block the incoming fire and blast back with his weapon for the next minute, looking at the Aura display shows that Blake manage to dwindle Jaune's Aura to yellow with 50% aura reserve while Jaune manage to get a few lucky hits on Blake downing her aura to 70%. Jaune started to think of a way to counterattack, clutching his gauntlet Jaune activate the gravity dusk on the gauntlet and slammed it down to the floor, sending a shockwave and debris into the air. The action resulted in Blake when reappearing being blown upward and flailing around in the air.

Wasting no time, Jaune uses the gauntlet built-in rocket to propel himself upward, closing the distance with Blake. Powering up his gauntlet to full power, Jaune rocket-punched Blake disoriented her, and crashes and bounced on the ground. On the screen, her aura depleted from 68% down to 33%. Using the gravity dust to descend faster to the ground where Blake landed and proceed to rocket punch her across the arena making her out of bounds and down her aura level to 5% in the red.

"W-winner Jaune Arc," Although Glynda was shocked at the performance of Jaune, she was immensely proud of the skill that he showed.

Jaune walked toward Blake to see her struggling to stand. Offering his hand, Blake accepted and leans on Jaune's shoulder as they approached Glynda.

"Great match Blake," Jaune said

"Great match," Blake replied, "That gauntlet hit hard, I think I'm gonna feel that tomorrow," Blake said joked with Jaune softly chuckled. The two stop in the middle of the arena with Glynda waiting.

"Excellent showcase of combat you two, Ms. Belladonna, your tactics are simple yet effective showing excellent mobility in which you are proficient, I would suggest incorporating a few aerial maneuvers and recovery to increase your already expansive mobility," Glynda commented and praised Blake which Blake nod in agreement.

"Mr. Arc, I must say I am completely surprised by your new weapon of choice and adept at using the gauntlet. Great offensive and defensive adaptability along with mobility and utility. My suggestion would be more quick thinking and less destructive, also to dodge more and not soaking up damage." Glynda said, Jaune nodded and listened attentively to Glynda's explanation. Everyone was in awe at the spar that occurred below, Jaune Arc who was the weakest in the year showed immense skill and ability that haven't been seen.

The bell rang, "Continue improving on your combat style everyone, dismiss," Everyone cleared out of the arena as Jaune went to the locker room. Sitting on the bench of the locker room with a towel draped over his head, controlling his breathing. He forgot the strain the gauntlet have on him, as he was breathing heavily the moment he sat down on the bench. His right-hand clutching and un-clutching getting used to the feeling after using the gauntlet. With a deep breath, Jaune began to routinely clean himself from the sweat and exited the locker room with his team and team RWBY waiting for him.

"Hey, guys,"

"Good match Jaune," Pyrrha

"Good! more like amazing! Fearless leader was so Badass with that gauntlet going 'WHOOSH' and 'BAM' and 'PUNCH'," Nora excitedly tried to replicate what she saw.

"Jaune!" Ruby jumped and cling to Jaune knocking the wind out of him, "I haven't seen that gauntlet and glove before, what can it do? what kind of dust is in it? how do you activate it? -" Ruby went on a barrage of questions, Jaune could only chuckle at his best friend's antics. Jaune suddenly was pulled by Yang.

"So, what do you call that beauty of a gauntlet?" Yang asked, Jaune looks down onto his right hand where the gauntlet was supposed to be. Clutching and un-clutching his fist, Jaune looks back at Yang with a devilish smirk that left Yang's cheek dusted slightly pink.

"Doomfist"
