Universe: Record of Ragnarok: The First Knight in Shining Armor
In an empty corridor, the sound of heels echoes through the hall. Walking down this silent corridor brought memories back to one Glynda Goodwitch, acting headmistress of Beacon, reminiscing about students running through this very corridor. The argument between Oobleck and Port was faintly heard passing by one of the classrooms. Glynda still can't believe it has been two years since that disastrous event. What once was the glory of the city, nothing more than a building of what it used to be. Beacon Academy has slowly been building back itself but the fall of Beacon is a stain that will forever besmirch its' name, but there is nothing that can change what has befallen before.
It has been two years since then and the city is slowly rebuilding itself back to its glorious state. Beacon also starting to accept new students and welcoming back old one if they decided to return. Oobleck and Port immediately return to teach the moment they heard Beacon was back operating and Glynda can't thank them enough for returning. Professor Peach also plans on returning to the faculty but needs time to finish her private affairs before returning which Glynda accepts.
It was Saturday which means no classes and students are returning home for the week, out to the city, or just relaxing. But for Glynda, if there is something that she didn't miss when she was focusing on rebuilding was the amount of paperwork, and right now she was dealing with the stack of paperwork tied to the position of Headmistress. She was thankful that she managed to find a secretary to help her with the paperwork in a form of Deery, a former white fang agent that defected after the fall of Beacon seeing the destruction and despair to not only humans but faunas alike. Glynda took her in giving her a second chance. Speaking of which, as Glynda enter her office she found a stack of paperwork on her desk with Deery sorting through them.
"Ah, Ms. Goodwitch, I've sorted these papers from the amount of priority attention it needed,"
"Thank you, Deery," Sitting behind the desk, Glynda work on the paperwork before her.
It took the whole morning to do half the paperwork. Suddenly, the door to Glynda's office opened and a distressed Port stood under the doorway.
"Glynda, the wall is under stress by Grimm,"
Without a moment pause both Glynda and Port, joined by Oobleck and a few third and fourth-year team, boarded the bullhead toward the wall. When the Wall is in view they see that it has been breached and a group of Vale soldiers and a handful of Huntsmans and Huntresses holding the line defeating a wave of Grimms only to be slowly pushed back into the city. Glynda turns around to address the students.
"Each team go to the city and secure the area along with both Oobleck and Port, protect the citizen, and be safe," With a nod, everyone began to freefall into the city with Glynda landed near the wall.
Glynda has an objective in mind and ran toward the wall, she needed to telekinesis a makeshift wall to minimize the amount of Grimm coming through the wall before eliminating the Grimm within the city. Though it appears to be easier said than done as Grimm interrupted her mending the wall. Pivoting, dodging, and swaying away from Grimm's attack, Glynda uses her semblance to throw Grimm against each other and send it flying over the wall.
Grabbing some of the debris with her semblance, Glynda shapes it into a hand and grabs the lunging Beowolf slamming it into the ground and punching the approaching Ursa. Using the tile of the street, Glynda creates a wave to push back the wave of Grimm in front of her to the other side of the wall. From behind, a Beowolf slashed Glynda's back which she retaliates with a kick to the side of its torso and infused her aura into her heel stabbing through the Beowolf's skull.
Try as she might, one person can only do so much as Grimms went past her into the city before she could stop it and a few Grimm manage to hit her aura. It only took a moment of distraction from stopping the Grimm that went past her for an Alpha Ursa to ram into her sending her tumbling away and her Aura shattered. Pain and discomfort coursed through her body as she lay on the ground.
Struggling to get up back to her feet, a looming shadow covers her. An Ursa stood menacingly growling as it raises its claw intending to end her life. Glynda, exhausted and weak, see her life flashes before her eyes from arriving at Beacon, graduating from Beacon, being appointed as a vice-headmistress of Beacon, teaching her students, the fall of Beacon, and rebuilding Vale, each memory flashed before the last thing she remembers was team RWBY and JNPR smiling face, her proudest students. Closing her eyes, she awaits her fate.
A loud crash and a gust of wind make Glynda tumble back a bit. Slowly opening her eyes turns into a wide-eyed shock as stood where the Ursa Grimm stands now disintegrating into dusk from under a heavily armored individual in a kneeling position with his right foot crushing the former Grimm's head, a single blade resting at his left hip, on his right shoulder golden cape linen with silver fur, face hidden behind a lion-like helmet with a golden mane fluttering. Examining closely again, Glynda's shock increased when the armored individual landing created a large crater underneath him.
The armored individual stood on his feet turning around and walking toward the downed Glynda before offering her his hand. Staring dumbfounded at the person in front of her accepted his hand though not before hearing her savior's voice.
"I'm glad you're okay professor Goodwitch," The armored individual chuckled, "It's good to see you again,"
A voice that was both familiar and yet different, Glynda could only stare at him as she was gently brought back to her feet. Focusing on the person in front of her to find clues to his identity, her eyes fall to the sword on his hip a familiar golden and white color scheme. Her eyes widen even more as she began to realize who this person is.
"Mr. Arc? Jaune," Glynda stunned.
"I'm glad you haven't forgotten about me," removing the lion scheme helmet, Glynda saw the face of her weakest but one of her favorite students. Jaune is already 20 years old, with his blonde hair tied into a short wolf tail, sporting stubble giving him a rough look. All in all the year has been kind to him. The sound of growling and howls snap Glynda out of her shock and realise that they have been surrounded by a horde of Grimm of all kinds. Even though she is still weak, Glynda readies herself.
"Thank god we were already on our way here when we heard the distress message,"
Glynda looks at Jaune in confusion, "We?"
Jaune only smiles at Glynda before donning back his helmet and pressing the small circle on the side of the helmet, "Lion Pride, deploy,"
As the Grimm began to advance towards them slowly, a sound of wind rustling in the air until something crashed in front of them crushing one of the Grimm. The dust cleared out to reveal another fully armored individual but less grandiose than Jaune with a regular knight helmet wielding a sword and shield. Another crash into a Grimm revealing the same armor as the one before but this one wields a halberd. More and more armored men and women in armor landed around them and before long the horde that was surrounding them had all disintegrated, Glynda watch in disbelief from it. One of the knights, a female, approaches Jaune, this knight wore a simple silver cape on her right shoulder.
"Commander, your order,"
Two objects landed beside Jaune, on his left, a white and gold large rectangular tower shield with the Arc emblem in the middle of it. On his right, is the large lance-canon hybrid, Rhongomyniad. Strapping the shield, Jaune grabbed the handle of his lance. Walking toward the front of the group.
Glynda watch in awe as every knight stood behind him, all ready and alert. Her amazement increased when a light appear to be emanating from Jaune and the light spread through all the knights.
"Vanguards secure the city and protect those who are in need," Jaune shouted, "Rearguards, eliminate and prevent any more Grimm past through the wall," Jaune slam the point of his lance and embedded it on the ground, "Lions' Be the symbol of hope, give protection to those in need, be their safeguard from harm!" With a surge of Aura, Jaune emits a bright white flash.
"SIR YES SIR!"
Glynda watches in amazement at the display before her, of how the knights proudly stood behind Jaune, of how each knight obeyed without hesitation, of how Jaune commanded his squad, his pride, of how majestic Jaune stood before her, how the light he emits cover her in warmth and safety. Glynda will never forget this image. The image that Jaune embodies.
Of how he becomes the living image of a Knight in Shining Armor.
