"Welcome to my gym, Davis. I hope you're ready because I intend to rock your world. See what I did there?" Gia said. They were at the Gaios Gym with it perfectly designed for rock-types.
"Funny, but I am leaving with that badge." Davis said.
"The gym battle between Davis and Gia can now begin!" The referee explained. "Each side will be allowed to use three pokemon, and substitution will be allowed! The battle will be over when all three of one side's pokemon is unable to battle! When you are both ready, you may begin!"
The chance to win his fifth badge has finally come for Davis. Gia has shown to be the type to take risks and chances. Against someone who seems to have no fear, Davis is sure going to have one tough battle.
"I so do love a good challenge. Crustle, let's rock this party!" Gia called.
"Crustle!"

(Davis' voice): Rock and Ram
"Crustle, the Stone Home Pokemon. A rock and bug-type, and the evolve form of Dwebble. It's legs are stronger than they look in order to carry the large boulder on it's back. Their claws are strong enough to break through a Rhyperior's carapace."
"It sure sounds tough. A bug-type that's also a rock-type?" Terra questioned. "That sounds like it might be a tough combo to beat."
"Maybe, but that isn't going to stop Davis." Cletus said.
"Since this gym's specialty is with rock-type pokemon, I have just the pokemon to battle with! Slotter, let's go!" Davis called as he chose his pokemon.
"Slotter!"
"See? A water-type is the perfect type to go up against a Crustle." Cletus said.
"So, you're coming at me with your water-type right from the start? Getting this over with quickly is no fun, but whatever works for you. In fact, I like a challenge." Gia said. "Come on. Let's see what you've got."
"Ask and you shall receive! Slotter, Aqua Jet!" Davis called. Slotter surrounded itself with water and started the battle. Slotter flew straight at Crustle and smashed right into Crustle.
"Boom! A direct hit!" Terra said. Crustle got hit rather hard, but it seems to have shaken off the attack. "What? Why didn't that work?"
"No. It did do some damage, but Crustle's ability is Sturdy. It helps endure against attacks like water-type attacks." Cletus said.
"I told you that I wouldn't want it over so soon." Gia said. "Crustle, let's show them what we've got! Smack Down!" Crustle fired a rock and blasted Slotter with it. The attack was so hard that Slotter was knocked into the ground rather hard.
"Slotter!" Davis called.
"Ouch! That looked like it really hurt!" Imperialdramon said.
"That Smack Down looked like it had a lot of power to it!" Terra said.
"Yeah... A little more than usual." Cletus said as that looked a little strange to him.
"And there's a lot to come! Crustle, let's use X-Scissor!" Terra called.
"Slotter, use Quick Attack to escape!" Davis called. Crustle went right at Slotter to try and slash it with its claws, but Slotter moved with great speed and was able to avoid the attack. "Now use Water Gun!" Slotter fired water at Crustle and it hit, but Crustle was still able to endure it.
"Crustle was able to take that attack?! Sturdy should help it endure against powerful attacks, but not like this!" Cletus said.
"That's how my pokemon and I work." Gia said. "Well, it would be more accurate to say that we have strong endurance. We can take what is thrown at us. That's why all of our attacks are pure offense. We have to be able to take what is thrown at us and fight back with our power! That's how we do what we do!"
"She does pure offense?!" Davis said.
"That would explain the extra power it holds!" Imperialdramon said.
"Now, let's show them what we've got!" Gia said. "Crustle, X-Scissor once again!" Crustle went right at Slotter and slashed its claws against Slotter and did some real damage. "Now, let's use Rock Wrecker!" Crustle formed a giant boulder that was packing some power. Once it threw it, it smashed right into Slotter. It held so much power that Slotter was smashed right into a wall and was knocked out from the battle.
"Slotter is unable to battle! Crustle is the winner!"
"No way! I can't believe that Slotter was taken down already!" Terra said.
"Gia really doesn't mess around. She focuses on pure offense and entrusts defense to pure endurance." Cletus said. "Sounds a little reckless when it comes to type disadvantage, but it seems like it can work for her."
"Slotter, return. Don't worry about it." Davis said as he brought back Slotter. "I wasn't expecting Slotter to be taken down already. That Crustle has some power, but it sounds like all her pokemon are like that. Well, what do you say you give it a try?"
"Gladly. I'll show them power." Imperialdramon said as he stepped forward for the next battle.
"This should be fun. I hope the big guy isn't a big pushover." Gia said.
"He's going to be doing all the pushing. Focus Punch!" Davis called.
"X-Scissor!" Gia called. The two of them used their respective attacks, but Imperialdramon ducked under Crustle and smashed his attack right on the underside of Crustle. When Crustle crashed down, he was knocked out of the battle.
"Crustle is unable to battle! Imperialdramon wins!"
"Boom! In one hit!" Terra said.
"That's the problem with relying on endurance for defense. Those super effective attacks can still do a lot of damage." Cletus claimed. "If Davis can keep that going, he's got this."
"I wouldn't be so sure. My two other pokemon won't go down as easily as you think." Gia said as she had Crustle come back and got her next pokemon ready. "Boldore, let's go!"
"Boldore!"
"She's using that Boldore. We saw what it's capable of." Davis said as he knew it had a lot of power behind it. Terra used her pokedex and learned more about Boldore.
"Boldore, the Ore Pokemon. A rock-type, and the evolve form of Roggenrola. It relies on sound to monitor it's surroundings. The gems growing out of it are used to measure the immense power it carries deep within."
"Careful, Davis! Boldore has the same ability as Crustle!" Cletus warned. "If Gia is relying on that same strategy, it's not going to be enough to take them down in one hit!"
"That's just fine. We'll wear it down! Dragon Pulse!" Davis called. Imperialdramon gathered his dragon power and unleashed the blast.
"Rock Blast!" Gia called. Boldore fired a series of rocks. One was able to block Imperialdramon's attack, but the rest kept coming at him and blasted rather hard against him.
"Oh man. That hurt." Imperialdramon groaned as he was in a lot of pain from that.
"Now let's use Stone Edge!" Gia called. Boldore smashed against the ground and had the rocks shoot out of the ground. Imperialdramon was able to move out of the way in time, but Boldore acted rather fast for a large and heavy pokemon. "Flash Cannon!" Boldore fired the shining blast and managed to hit Imperialdramon with him being knocked down from the blast.
"Are you okay?!" Davis called.
"Yeah... Those attacks pack a punch, but I can hold on." Imperialdramon said as he was able to get back up. "Those attacks have a lot of power to them. I'm not sure how we can block them."
"You're right. That's why we have to strike while we can." Davis said. "Let's give them a taste of your Dragon Pulse!" Imperialdramon battled back as he unleashed the attack and blasted Boldore with it, but Boldore was able to endure against the attack.
"Stone Edge!" Gia called. Boldore had the rocks shoot out of the ground and smashed right into Imperialdramon. "Come on, Davis. Show us what else you got!"
"Okay! Imperialdramon, let's use Focus Punch on the rocks! Throw some force behind it!" Davis called. Imperialdramon smashed his fist against the rocks and broke it to pieces. The shards of those stones were shot forward and smashed against Boldore.
"What the heck?!" Gia said as she wasn't expecting that.
"Now use Brick Break!" Davis called. Imperialdramon flew right at Boldore and smashed his arm right against Boldore.
"That was a pretty gutsy move you did. Way to think outside of the box." Gia said.
"It's what I do. What better way to win a battle than to do something surprising?" Davis said.
"Not bad, but I've got you now. You know I'm willing to take some risks." Gia said. Davis didn't like where this was going. "Time to use Explosion!" They certainly weren't expecting that. Boldore gathered energy in its body and then detonated. A fierce explosion went off and Imperialdramon got swallowed up in it. Davis and the others had to endure that blast, but the shockwaves carried some force behind it.
"That's insane! Did she just take out her pokemon?!" Terra questioned.
"I guess we shouldn't be surprised she had an attack like that!" Cletus said. They waited for the explosion to settle down and for the dust to clear away. It was rather obvious that Boldore was defeated by it's own attack.
"Boldore is unable to battle!" The ref said.
"Boom!" Gia called as she was laughing from the excitement. "That attack really gets them all the time!"
"Not this time..." They all looked and saw that Imperialdramon barely managed to withstand an attack like that, but he was still standing.
"Imperialdramon is still able to battle, so he is the winner of this match!" The ref declared.
"Oh yeah! Way to hang in there! I was actually worried for a minute, but you're as tough as they come!" Davis said.
"That was close. I was a little scared on that one." Terra said as she felt like she could breathe again.
"Wow. That is rather impressive that you were able to withstand that attack." Gia said. "You did great, Boldore. Get a good rest." She brought back her Boldore and was getting rather excited. "You're really giving me a fun battle. It's been a while since someone could take what I dish out. Now, let's see how you do with my last pokemon." Davis and Imperialdramon readied themselves for whatever was next. "Let's go, my hardheaded Rammtain!" She brought out her next pokemon and it was a new one.
"Rammmmmtain!" This new pokemon was big enough to ride on it with a goat-like appearance. However, it's horns stretched all the way to it's back. It had a white furry face with a white underbelly and black legs. It had dirty brown and shaggy brown fur, but it also had large sandy colored rocks sticking to its fur.
"That's new." Davis said as he brought out his pokedex.
"Rammtain, the Mountain Goat Pokemon. A rock-type, and the evolve form of Moulamb. Many mountain climbers use this pokemon to get closer to the tops of mountains. The rocks in its fur are from dust and dirt sticking to its fur."
"A pretty neat pokemon, but I'm winning this one! Imperialdramon, let's get this over with! Brick Break!" Davis called.
"Rammtain, Mega Horn!" Gia called. Rammtain and Imperialdramon charged right at each other with their respective attacks and able to push the other back. "Now use Rock Tomb!" Rammtain formed a series of rocks and threw them right at Imperialdramon and had him trapped. The rocks came down on him and trapped him from the waste down.
"Get out of there!" Davis called.
"I'm trying!" Imperialdramon said as he was struggling to get out.
"Horn Leech!" Gia called. Rammtain fired green beams from its horns and blasted Imperialdramon. All of his power began to drop until there was nothing left to give. Imperialdramon couldn't fight how exhausted he felt and fainted.
"Imperialdramon is unable to battle! Rammtain is the winner!"
"What just happened?!" Terra said.
"Horn Leech can drain the energy out of your opponent and heal the user." Cletus said. "Both it and Mega Horn are bug-type attacks. Those are really effective against grass-types."
"Grass-types?! But Chamleaf is the only pokemon Davis has left that can go up against rock-types." Terra said. Davis worked on getting Imperialdramon out of the rocks and tried to drag him back to his side, despite his large size and heaviness.
"You going to be okay?" Davis asked.
"I think so. Just need to rest." Imperialdramon said.
"Take your time. I'll win this battle by the time this is done." Davis said. "Chamleaf, let's go!"
"Chamleaf!"
"So, you decided to come at us with your grass-type, but you know we are well prepared for them." Gia said.
"That doesn't mean we're going to back down. Chamleaf, Power Whip!" Davis called. Chamleaf shot out its tongue and it lashed right against Rammtain. "Good! Now use Razor Leaf!" Chamleaf fired the leaves and headed straight for Rammtain.
"Rammtain, let's use Take Down!" Gia called. Rammtain charged right through the leaves and kept going no matter how much they attacked him. Rammtain kept going until Rammtain smashed against Chamleaf and did some damage. Even if Davis has the type advantage, those attacks of Rammtain hold a lot of power behind them.
"Chamleaf, use Camouflage and turn into a rock-type! It will weaken the damage of those attacks!" Davis called. Chamleaf glowed a bright brown color and was now transformed into a rock-type.
"Not a bad idea, but that won't be enough." Gia claimed. "Rammtain, time to use Horn Leech!" Rammtain fired the beams from its horns again and blasted Chamleaf with his power being drained.
"Chamleaf might be a rock-type now, and might be taking less damage, but Rammtain is packing a lot of power!" Cletus claimed.
"Don't give up, Chamleaf! Use Power Whip!" Davis called. Chamleaf tried to battle back as it shot its tongue at Rammtain.
"Rammtain, Mega Horn!" Gia called. Rammtain charged right in and caused the Power Whipe to be deflected. Rammtain smashed right into Chamleaf and knocked it back. "Now use Take Down!" Rammtain smashed right into Chamleaf again and knocked Chamleaf so hard that it was smashed against a rock. Chamleaf is taking a lot of damage. It might be a fellow rock-type now, but Chamleaf is taking too much damage.
"Hang in there, Chamleaf! Don't give up!" Davis encouraged. Chamleaf tried to get up, but it was shaking.
"Well, I think it's time to end this. Rammtain, Mega Horn!" Gia called. Rammtain charged right at Chamleaf and smashed against it once again, so hard that the rock behind Chamleaf broke to pieces. All of them were rather worried the attack was too much for Chamleaf.
"Chamleaf!" Davis called as he was really worried now. They thought Chamleaf was finished, but that wasn't the case for Chamleaf began to glow. That could only mean one thing. Chamleaf changed forms as it grew bigger and was a mossy green now with a series of rings made out of leaves on it's tail. It also had a protrusion sticking out of its head with yellow stripes on it's back.
"Camoleaf!"
"Chamleaf just evolved!" Cletsu said as they were all amazed.
"It's a Camoleaf now!" Terra said.
"This is incredible!" Davis said. He pulled out his pokedex to learn more about it.
"Camoleaf, the Leaf Chameleon Pokemon. A grass-type, and the evolve form of Chamleaf. Camoleon can blend perfectly in with any surrounding area. Seeing it move is the only time you can spot it, but it is quite patient."
"This is awesome, Camoleaf. It looks like you even learned a new attack." Davis said.
"It is rather impressive that your Chamleaf evolved, but I'm afraid I'm still winning this battle." Gia said. "Rammtain, let's use Mega Horn again!"
"I don't think so! Camoleaf, let's use Power Whip to trip them up!" Davis said. Camoleaf stretched out its tongue and used it on Rammtain's legs causing it to trip and fall.
"That's not going to stop us!" Gia said with Rammtain getting back up.
"Let's see how you deal with Camoleaf's new move! Rock Climb!" Davis called. Camoleaf had the toes of it's legs become sharp claws. Once it did that, it smashed against the ground and caused it to rise up in the air with Rammtain on top. Camoleaf climbed its way up and intended to tackle Rammtain.
"You think that's going to help you? I don't think so! Take Down!" Gia called. Climbing a mountain was easy for Rammtain as it made it's way down and the two tackled against each other.
"Actually, I just needed to get close enough for one good attack." Davis said with Gia thinking she's in trouble. "Razor Leaf at full power!" Camoleaf unleashed the attack and blasted Rammtain at point-blank range. Rammtain got hit rather hard from that attack and was unable to take the attack. When the two of them came down, Rammtain was knocked out of the battle.
"Rammtain is unable to battle! Camoleaf wins, and the victory goes to the challenger!"
"We did it! We won!" Davis cheered with Camoleaf walking over and joining in the excitement. "Thanks a lot, Camoleaf. You were awesome."
"He's incredible." Terra said.
"Davis continues to amaze and surprise me. Just when you think it's over, something happens and he pulls off a comeback." Cletus said. It was another big win, and another badge for Davis as he was being rewarded his badge right now.
"Davis, you did not disappoint. You fought hard and didn't back down. That's what I like to see." Gia said. "Here is the reward for your bravery and strong battling. I give you the Mountain Badge." She said as she handed a yellow triangular badge.
"Thanks a lot, Gia." Davis said as he took the badge. "Yeah! The Mountain Badge is mine, my fifth badge!" He cheered as he now was more than halfway there.
Davis has managed to win his fifth badge. With it now in his possession, he's only three more away from entering the Grecko League. His team just keeps growing stronger and stronger, and Chamleaf evolving is proof of that. He's only going to continue to get stronger from here. So, stay tuned for more excitement.
