Our heroes are continuing on towards their journey for Unus City so that Davis can have his sixth gym battle. Although, they are about to have an interesting encounter.
They just walked right through the forest, but then they heard some snarling going on.
"What's that sound?" Terra questioned.
"Sounds like it's coming from behind that bush." Cletus said. All of them took a look at the bush the sound was coming from. They all looked to see a pokemon eating apples directly off the ground. This pokemon was small, but it had fur as black as the midnight sky. It also had pointy ears with sharp teeth, but the most distinct feature was the white crescent moon sitting on it's head.
"I know that pokemon. It's called a Tazzvil." Terra said.
"Tazzvil?" Davis questioned as he thought it looked like an interesting pokemon.
"Wait a minute. Is it eating a rotten apple?" Imperialdramon said. They took a closer look and saw that the apple did appear to be rotten. A pokemon eating rotten food and not getting sick? Disgusting.
Through the water, forest, and up in the sky
In the fire, thunder, and right in your heart
There are so many, many, many to find
And I know I can do it
(I can do it)
I know I can catch them all-all-all
(Gotta catch'em all)
So let's go
(Come on)
Oh
Watch me, here I go
Pokemon, here I come
It's destiny calling
I'll give it my all
It's all I can do
(Davis' voice): Speak of the Tazzvil
"Tazzvil, the Scavenger Pokemon. A dark-type. Tazzvil are capable of eating rotten food and caraccas without getting sick, and can turn it into a natural source for their bodies."
"They eat rotten food? That's disgusting!" Terra said after hearing what the pokedex said about Tazzvil. It did sound rather gross, but it was a little too loud when she said that. It alerted the Tazzvil of their presence. "Oops."
"Hey there, little guy." Davis said as he approached it.
"Davis, be careful. It didn't sound all that friendly earlier." Cletus said. In fact, Tazzvil doesn't sound all that friendly right now. It was growling right at Davis.
"Calm down. I'm not going to hurt you. I know that stuff might be good to you, but it's rather gross to others." Davis said. "I bet your sick of eating that stuff. I think I got something you could enjoy even better." Davis offered better food, but he reached for that rotten apple instead. When he did that, Tazzvil acted upon sheer instinct.
"Rowr!" Tazzvil snarled right at Davis and leaped right at him apparently going to take a bite out of it. The others were scared for Davis, but something pushed Davis out of the way before the bite could land. All of them looked and saw that it was a werewolf-like pokemon with snowy white fur that stood about seven feet tall.
"Where did you come from?" Davis questioned. Tazzvil didn't stick around. It took the apples and just ran off.
"Thanks, but who are you?" Davis questioned as he tried to learn more about this pokemon.
"Icerrock, the Amarok Pokemon, An ice-type, and the evolve form of Sibrisk. In blizzards or snowy regions, Icerrock are camouflaged thanks to their white fur. This makes it perfect for them to stalk their prey."
"Davis! Are you okay?!" Terra said as they all regrouped.
"That little pokemon is quite vicious. It just attacked you out of nowhere." Cletus said.
"I'm fine thanks to this big guy, but where did it come from?" Davis said.
"From me. You're welcome." All of them looked and were met with a brand new trainer. He had green hair with the bottom sticking out on the sides. He wore a white dress shirt with an orange tie and jeans. "That Tazzvil attacked you because it thought you were trying to steal it's food. Tazzvil might sound aggressive and seem scary, but they're usually harmless. Just don't get between them and food. You're not that smart."
"You don't have to sound like a know-it-all." Davis said as he didn't like the guy's tone. "Thanks for helping me out, but who are you?"
"My name is Ringo, and you just met my partner." He introduced. "What were you trying to do just there? Were you trying to take that apple from it because you thought it was gross that it was eating it?"
"You have to admit that it was pretty disgusting." Terra said.
"Tazzvil seemed like an interesting pokemon. I just wanted to get a better look and offer it something better." Davis said.
"You seemed pretty careless back there." Ringo said. "Next time, you should use better judgement and be more careful. We're not going to be around to help you next time."
"I'll be fine, and it was a mere mistake. You don't have to sound like a smart mouth about it." Davis said as he was getting a little annoyed with this guy. "That Tazzvil did seem like a fierce pokemon. Maybe I should think about catching it. It might make a great addition for my Unus City gym battle."
"You're planning to take on the Unus Gym?" Ringo said. "I take it that means that you're planning to challenge the Grecko League?"
"Yeah. I've already got five badges. Are you planning to do the same?" Davis questioned. Ringo proved that he was by taking our his badge case and showed that he already had six badges. "Six badges."
"That's right." Ringo said. "Of course, badges alone don't determine the difference in our strength. Although, I'm not interested in battling at the moment, so don't ask."
"What? You can't just run your mouth like that." Davis said.
"Davis, just ignore him." Imperialdramon said. When Ringo spotted him, he seemed to have recognized Davis now.
"Wait. I know you." Ringo said. "I saw you compete in the Bacu City Battle Tournament."
"You saw that?" Davis questioned.
"Sure did, and I saw how you lost." Ringo said with Davis getting even more annoyed. "Don't get me wrong. You put up a good battle, but your battle style seems a little rash and blunt. I'm not too sure you're pokemon are living up to their potential."
"What did you say?!" Davis said as he was getting really offended now. "Are you saying I'm a pathetic trainer?!"
"Not pathetic. I just think you're a little lacking, otherwise you would have won that last match with the attacks that were the most effective against that Sculice." Ringo said. "That's just one man's opinion. I don't really want to argue about it."
"Fine with me. I've got a Tazzvil to find." Davis said and just took off.
"Hey! Wait for us!" Cletus called as he and the others chased after him.
"I wonder if that guy even knows what he's doing." Ringo said.
...
Davis' Group
"Davis, don't tell me you want to go after that Tazzvil and try to catch because of what Ringo said." Terra said. "The guy might be a little blunt, but don't let what he said bother you."
"She's right. You sound like you want to catch that Tazzvil for all the wrong reasons." Cletus said.
"What he said did bug me, but there was more to it than that." Davis said. "I like how that Tazzvil acted and attacked. I could tell it was fierce. That's the kind of pokemon I like, and the kind I would like to have."
"That sounds more like it." Cletus said.
"You probably liked it so much because you can be the same way." Terra said. "I just hope I don't have to see it eat anything disgusting." She was disgusted by that, but she also thought about how it acted earlier. "I am a little unsure about it. It looked rather mean and scary. Are you sure you want a pokemon like that?"
"There's probably nothing to worry about, Terra. Ringo said they're not as mean or scary as they look." Cletus clarified.
"Yeah. Check this out. I found them." Imperialdramon said. All of them took a look behind some bushes and saw a whole bunch of them. Seeing them like this, they didn't look that scary. Some acted like playful little puppies while others seemed so calm and relaxed.
"Wow. Look at all of them." Davis said.
"See, Terra? They don't look so bad." Cletus claimed.
"I guess not." Terra said. "So, which one of them are you going to try and catch, Davis?"
"Let's see... I want to make sure I catch a good one." Davis said as he was trying to decide which of Tazzvil he would like to catch.
"Davis, over there." Imperialdramon said. He pointed down to the far right and they spotted one dragging a large leaf with some fruit on it. "That's the same one we saw earlier."
"Yuck. More rotten fruit." Terra said.
"I don't think so. That fruit looks rather fresh." Cletus said. Davis wanted to get a closer look, so he hurried over to see what the Tazzvil was doing. Davis got as close as he could to Tazzvil without being seen. When he got close enough, he could see a few other small pokemon were there.
"Tazz." Tazzvil gave all the fruit to them and all of them seemed happy about it.
"I get it. All that fruit is really for them." Davis said as he saw what a nice pokemon this Tazzvil really is. Seeing no reason to fear it, Davis came out of hiding with Tazzvil alerted about him. When Tazzvil spotted Davis, it got all defensive and started snarling at him. "Calm down, Tazzvil. I'm not going to hurt you or any of these guys. I just think it's great how you gave some of that food for them."
"Tazzvil?"
"See?" Davis questioned as he sat down to show he wasn't a threat. "I was hoping we could just talk." Tazzvil seems to have let it's guard down and was willing to talk to Davis.
"Look at that." Terra said as she was impressed. "Tazzvil is letting it's guard down."
"I told you." All of them looked and saw Ringo caught up to them. "Tazzvil are usually misunderstood. A lot of people think they're mean or scary, but they're really just misunderstood. Though, I have to say that he's taking an unexpected way to catch that Tazzvil. I figured someone like him would have taken the more direct approach and try battling it to catch it."
"Don't you know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover?" Cletus said. All of them watched things unfold from here.
"You know, I heard someone say that you guys are often misunderstood." Davis said as he was just making friendly talk with it. "Apparently, some people think your a little scary. I can see why from how you were snarling at me earlier. I kind of know what it's like to be misunderstood. Some people think I can be a bit of a jerk...and they might be a little right. On the other hand, others would just say I'm really emotional. I got so much emotion in me that I just let it burst out."
"That would explain a lot." Terra mumbled.
"Still, they saw I was a good guy." Davis said. "I think the same is true about you."
"Are you trying to relate to this pokemon?" Ringo said as he came over. "Not a bad idea, but do you really think Tazzvil here will be even more obliged to be caught by you."
"Do you always have to be so blunt? I'm just trying to get to know Tazzvil a little." Davis said. "What do you say, Tazzvil? Want to have a battle and see if I can catch you? You do seem like a bit of a fighter." Davis was giving Tazzvil the choice. He wondered what Tazzvil was going to do, but then Tazzvil appeared to have heard something and took off. "Tazzvil? Where are you going?!" Davis followed after Tazzvil and the others followed after Tazzvil. Tazzvil ran through the forest with the others not far behind it. Tazzvil kept on running until they found the source of what Tazzvil heard. They all saw a Rattata hanging off a branch and was struggling to hold on. "Oh boy! Not good!"
"Ratta... Rattata!" Rattata couldn't hold on and began to fall. It would have been a hard hit, but Tazzvil got under Rattata just in time and was able to catch it on it's back.
"Wow! Nice catch!" Terra said.
"Good thing Tazzvil heard Rattata." Cletus said.
"I guess Tazzvil aren't so bad after all. They really can be rather nice." Terra said.
"I told you." Ringo said. Once they made sure Rattata was okay, it took off and they got back on topic.
"You really are a cool pokemon, Tazzvil. I would love to have a pokemon like you on my team." Davis offered, but Tazzvil wasn't sure about what to do.
"Why are you asking it? Why not just battle it and catch it like any other pokemon?" Ringo questioned.
"There's more than one way to catch a pokemon, but it does give me an idea." Davis said. "How about you battle me, and I'll battle with Tazzvil. It will be a great way to see how compatible we are."
"You want to battle me with a pokemon that isn't even yours?" Ringo said. "That isn't going to end well."
"Let's find out." Davis said as he was set to do this. Tazzvil did seem a bit interested in Davis, so maybe this will help. Ringo went a long with it and he was using Icerrock. Once Davis got familiar with what attacks Tazzvil knew, this battle was on.
"For the record, I think this is a bad idea." Ringo said.
"Noted. Now let's do this." Davis said. "Tazzvil, show me what you can do with Night Slash!" Tazzvil went along with it as claws grew out and it charged right for the attack.
"Interesting... That Tazzvil isn't his, but it seems to have no problem listening." Ringo said. "Icerrock, battle back by using Slash!"
"Icerrock!" Both of them went at each other with their claws, but Icerrock was the one with the longer reach and landed it's attack against Tazzvil.
"Good! Now use Icicle Crash!" Ringo called. Icerrock formed a series of icicles and had them rain down on Tazzvil, but Tazzvil ran around as best as it could to try and avoid the attacks.
"Tazzvil, let's use Shadow Ball!" Davis called. Tazzvil formed a dark orb at it's mouth and shot it right at Icerrock, but Icerrock easily used it's arm to deflect the attack.
"You'll have to do better than that." Ringo said. "Iccerock, Ice Fang!" Icerrock gathered cold energy into its teeth and tried to take a bite out of Tazzvil.
"Dodge it and use Crunch!" Davis called. Tazzvil jumped away from Icerrock's attack, and then jumped at Icerrock. Icerrock held out it's arm and blocked the attack with Tazzvil biting into it.
"We've got it now! Icerrock, let's use Throat Chop! Put all the power you have into it!" Ringo called. Icerrock gathered it's own dark power into it's hand and smashed it against Tazzvil. Tazzvil was knocked off of Icerrock and was sent flying. Tazzvil would have smashed into a tree, but Davis jumped in the way. Davis caught Tazzvil, but ended up smashing against the tree himself. Ringo was surprised to see that.
"Davis! Are you okay?!" Terra called.
"Yeah... I'm good..." Davis said as he ignored the pain. "What about you, Tazzvil? Are you good?" Tazzvil didn't appear to be hurt, but it was amazed Davis did that.
"You know what, I think that's enough." Ringo said as he brought Icerrock back to it's pokeball. "I really don't want to hurt Tazzvil anymore when it's not officially yours. I will say that you're interesting one. However, I still think you can't bring out your pokemon's potential, but you just recently met this one. Come look for me when you two actually grew stronger, otherwise you won't be able to beat me in the Grecko League." That was all Ringo said before he just walked off, but Davis did catch his interest and would like to see what happens when they meet again.
"He's got a mouth." Davis said as he got annoyed with Ringo, but it looks like he's got himself another rival.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Imperialdramon asked.
"Yeah, and it looks like Tazzvil is." Davis said. "What do you say, Tazzvil? Did this battle help? Do you want to come along with me?"
"Tazzvil!" Tazzvil seemed rather happy about it. It looks like Davis got himself a new pokemon now.
"Yeah! I got a Tazzvil!" Davis claimed.
It seems that Davis has himself a new friend and a new rival with Tazzvil and Ringo. Davis has his own way of doing things, but it seems to work for him. Now, the journey continues.
...
A Pokemon Center
"Oh! You got yourself a Tazzvil? That's quite a misunderstood pokemon. They can be quite friendly." Professor Oak claimed. Once Tazzvil agreed to go with Davis, they found the nearest Pokemon Center and told him what was going on.
"Yeah. I have a feeling Tazzvil and I going to get along pretty good." Davis said as he petted his new Tazzvil.
"Anyway, I'm glad you called, Davis." Professor Oak claimed. "You're heading for Unus City, right? There's something I like you to do for me."
