Chapter 5: Starting Over

About two decades ago, a group of Space Pods crash landed on a distant planet. The Space Pods opened up and five Saiyans stepped out.

Five Saiyans were confronted by and army of the planet's inhabitants and surrounded. The five Saiyans stood together and readied themselves.

Random Alien: You picked the wrong planet to invade Saiyans! Today you die!

The leader of the group had a stoic expression before tightening his red arm band. Obviously, this was Bardock and he was leading his group consisting of Fasha, Borgos, Shugesh, and Tora.

Bardock: Let's get this over with, shall we?

Tora: You heard the boss, attack!

With Tora's command, the group split off and began to fight off planet's inhabitants.

Hours have passed since the start of the battle, and currently all of the Saiyans have gathered together. Everyone was sitting in a crater relaxing after a long hard battle.

Shugesh: After all of this, not a single one of them was strong enough to hurt us.

Fasha: It's the other way around Shugesh. We've gotten way stronger since our last few missions.

Borgos: Huh, explains why my movements are faster than before. I wonder if King Vegeta will recognize our feats and promote us to Elite Class.

Tora: That would never happen. King Vegeta is too prideful to recognize us.

Fasha: Why do you say that?

Tora: Don't you remember? He banish a Saiyan child to a barren planet because his power exceeded his son's power.

Shugesh: You're talking Paragus's kid right?

Tora nodded.

Tora: Besides we would still be looked down on as Low Class Saiyans regardless if King Vegeta recognized us or not. Besides, we would never be as strong Prince Vegeta.

Borgos: It doesn't hurt to dream, right Bardock?

Everyone turned to see Bardock laying down with a twig in his mouth. Bardock didn't respond to Borgos's question. Fasha decided to ask him a question.

Fasha: Hey Bardock, what'ya thinking about?

Bardock: I'm thinking about why we're doing this.

Borgos: Now that I think about it you seem very different since that mission on Planet Cereal.

Bardock: The only thing that's changed is my mindset. Can we really trust Frieza?

Fasha: What are you talkin about? We've completed missions that some Frieza's Elites couldn't handle and he praises us. Of course, we can trust Frieza.

Soon enough, Bardock's scouter went off and sat back up. The other Saiyans stood up as well as a lone alien confronted them. The alien had heavy wounds, bleeding profusely, and was struggling to stand up.

Borgos: Huh, looks like we missed one.

Random Alien: H-How could you? What have any... of us done to... you to deserve this? My people, my friends,... my family... all of them are dead because of you!

Bardock didn't respond.

Random Alien: I... will never... forgive you for... what you've... done...

The alien collapsed on to the ground.

Borgos: Huh, well he's gone now.

Bardock: Let's head back to Planet Vegeta. We've done our job.

Fasha: Bardock is right. Let's get going.

Fasha, Borgos, Shugesh, and Tora all began to fly away while Bardock stood behind. Bardock looked back at the dead alien lowering his head.

Bardock said nothing but felt guilt. He decided to fly away and rejoin his group.

-Present-

Goku was a little saddened to hear this. He had a feeling that father had done horrible things to others but to hear him say was still a bit tough to hear.

Goku: You intentionally worked for Frieza?

Bardock: Unfortunately yes. We didn't have a problem with working under Frieza and worked for him willingly. We desired strong opponents and fought for him regardless of reason. In the end, the Saiyans deserved what was coming to us.

Bardock stood up and faced away from his son.

Bardock: I spent long nights wondering what would've happened if the Saiyans were different. Maybe we could've been different. We would've been better than what we were instead of selling our souls to the Frieza Force.

Bardock contemplated what was when Goku spoke.

Goku: I'll be honest, father...

Bardock turned to see his son.

Goku: I can't forgive what you've done but that doesn't mean that you're completely bad. After all, you saved me by sending me to Earth. The Saiyans aren't all gone.

Bardock was stunned to hear this.

Goku: What would you say if I asked you and mother to come with me to live Earth with me after I train here for a bit? We can start over and show that the Saiyans aren't all bad.

This caught Bardock off guard.

Bardock: Are you sure about that? I'm not the most sociable person in the universe.

Goku: I'm more than sure. Besides, I'm positive that Gohan and you can get along great.

Bardock could tell his son was naive but he had to admit, he was curios to see his Grandson.

Bardock: Well, if you insist then I'll tell Gine we'll be leaving for Earth.

?: No need to tell me.

Goku and Bardock looked to see Gine standing in the doorway with a bright smile.

Gine: I can finally meet my Grandson and my daughter-in-law.

Goku smiled as Gine hold on to her son's arm.

Goku: Then it's settled.

Bardock: You want to train and learn the techniques on Yardrat?

Goku: Well that, and master Super Saiyan. I could really use a sparring partner.

Bardock: Well I've got nothing better to do so count me in with your training.

Gine just shook her head at the two wanting to get stronger.

Earth/Capsule Corporation

It's been 130 days since the events on Namek and currently on the front lawn of Capsule Corporation were Goku's friends and family and the Namekians... plus Vegeta.

The young Namekian Dende stood in front of the Dragon Balls as they began to glow. Walking up to Dende from behind him was Bulma.

Bulma: Alright Dende, let's get started.

Dende: Right.

Dende stretched his arms out over the Dragon Balls and spoke.

Dende: Rise Porunga!

The Dragon Balls flashed light everywhere before a bright light shot up into the air. Most interestingly, Gohan and Chi Chi watched the display with Bulma by their sides. The light began to change shape before taking the shape of a muscular creature.

The Eternal Dragon Porunga looked down to see the people who summoned him.

Porunga: You who have summoned me, I will now grant you three wishes. Now proceed with your wishes.

Stepping forward to Bulma was the new Grand Elder Moori.

Moori: Go ahead my friends. We can wait another 130 days to start our new lives.

Bulma smiled.

Bulma: Thanks.

Bulma walked forward and began to speak.

Bulma: Our first wish is to move the souls of Goku and Krillin to the checking station in Other World.

Porunga's eyes began to glow red as he granted the wish.

Porunga: I have moved the soul of Krillin to Earth's check in station. However, I could not do the same for Son Goku.

Everyone was confused by what the dragon said to them.

Bulma: Why can't you do that?

Porunga: I cannot move his soul because Son Goku is still alive.

This revelation shocked everyone. Even Vegeta was taken aback.

Gohan: H-He's alive?!

Gohan began to smile brightly at the news.

Gohan: Dad is alive!

Bulma: Then with our next wish, we wish for Krillin to be revived.

Porunga: Understood.

Porunga's eyes began to glow for a few seconds before returning to normal.

Soon after Krillin was revived and appears in front of everyone.

Krillin: Aaaaaargh! Huh... what the... I'm back alive again?

Gohan ran up and hugged Krillin.

Gohan: Krillin you're back! Thank goodness!

Krillin: Whoa, little buddy! I'm glad you're

Bulma smiled at the scene before turning to Porunga with a serious face.

Bulma: Our final wish is to bring our friend Goku back to Earth.

Porunga's eyes began to glow for a few seconds before returning to normal.

Porunga: I cannot do this.

Everyone was stunned to here this.

Porunga: The one called Goku wishes not to return yet. He states that he will return after he has trained.

Gohan, Krillin, Bulma, Chi Chi, Piccolo, and Vegeta were all confused.

Porunga: He also told me to relay this message. I will return with some new people for everyone to meet, especially Gohan and Chi Chi.

Gohan and Chi Chi were shocked to hear this.

Bulma: Who is Goku bringing back?

Krillin: Beats me.

Porunga: What is your final wish?

Bulma: Well if Goku refuses to return then our final wish will be to revive Yamcha.

Porunga: Very well.

Porunga's eyes began to glow for a few seconds before returning to normal. In an instant Yamcha was resurrected and fully alive again.

Yamcha: I'm back! Awesome!

Krillin: Welcome back Yamcha.

Yamcha walked over and high-fived Krillin.

Porunga: Your wishes have been granted. Until next time!

Porunga flew into the sky before disappearing. Suddenly the Namekian Dragon Balls landed on the ground near Grand Elder Moori.

Gohan looks at the sky wondering what his father is doing and who his father is meeting. Chi Chi walked up to her son and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Chi Chi: I'm sure your father has every intention of coming back to us. Let's believe in Goku.

Gohan smiled a bit.

Gohan: You're right.

As mother and son stand together, Goku is on Yardrat training with Bardock. Unbeknownst to everyone a young warrior is approaching with a warning of a new threat.
