On the Emiya Residence.

"I'm home." The man greeted to nobody.

The man is tall with red hair and golden brown eyes.

He is Emiya Shirou, he had just return from London for a vacation.

Setting down his bag he looks around the house.

'Hm, nothing changes.' Shirou mused.

Suddenly he stopped walking when he saw there is something in one of the rooms.

'What's that!' Curious Shirou approach the item to look at it closely.

It was a gaming chair, it has a high backrest designed to support the upper back and shoulders. It can also make am adjustment to the armrests, back, lumbar support and headrest can all be adjusted for comfort and efficiency.

Af first, when Shirou realized what it was he went confused.

'When did I bought a gaming chair?'

Then Shirou remembered, before he went to London with Rin, if he wasn't mistaken just as he was about to graduate Taiga bought him a gaming chair as a graduation gift.

'She said she wanted to play together with me so she bought the best gaming chair there was with a VR device for an online game, I think?' Shirou didn't really remember back then.

Because he followed Rin to London afterwards he never did get to play together with her, though Taiga did send some messages about the game and her experiences with it.

Shaking his head, Shirou soon left the room for the kitchen.

Just as Shirou check the refrigerator he sighed at the empty sight.

Right, Taiga may keep the house clean, but with her inability to cook there was no need to keep the ingredients on the fridge.

Shirou make a note to try and contact Sakura, after all she seemed upset when he decided to go to London.

Seeing that dinner won't serve itself Shirou prepared for shopping.

It took a while for Shirou to buy groceries, by the time he goes home it was already dusk.

While shopping Shirou heard some gossip from the people around him.

It seems like a popular online game is about to be shut down dur to several reasons.

Why is this matter? you ask, because the game they were talking about was the same game Taiga were bragging about.

Ygdrassil Online.

Or is it?

Shirou is not a game person so he didn't really care, but Taiga might brought one to play with him once she goes home so might as well listen to some interesting information.

Once Shirou back at his house and put the grocery on the fridge, he do some chores, do a little training before finally relaxing and contacting Taiga and Sakura for dinner, only to get a surprise from both.

What a blunder, unexpectedly Taiga is out to some study tour with her fellow teachers for sometime and Sakura was away visiting Rin just a day ago and won't return until a week later.

Which means Shirou has at least one week for himself, alone, with nothing to do.

He could go and visited Issei tomorrow. But for tonight he won't have anything to do. Bored, Shirou flop himself in an eagle spread on the mat wondering what to do.

Looking at the clock it was 8 A.M, it was going to be a long night, Shirou thought before he suddenly went up.

That's right!

He could try the game Taiga bought for him!

Besides if what he heard from rumor is true it's about to shut down right? It'll be a waste not to try it before it's gone forever.

Standing up, Shirou walked to the room where Taiga stored the game.

'And with this Taiga can't accuse him of old fashioned.' Shirou thought.

Shirou then find the game case and the VR helmet in the room where the gaming chair was.

'Let's see, how to start...'

Unlike Rin or the other magi, Shirou is more capable of utilizing technology. It merely take a few minutes for him to activated the game on the helmet, and prepared to go online.

Once Shirou was online he first saw the trailer before starting the game.

It was nothing special in shirou opinion, as he didn't really care about the trailer, so he skipped it.

Once the trailer skipped, an option appeared in front of him.

"Start""Menu""Server"

And a greyed out "News" Huh?

It seems it really is about to get shutdown if the "News" option is unaccessible. Shrugging his head Shirou choose the obvious choice.

"Start"

After that he went into the "Character Creation" page.

There he can pick his race, genders, looks, and starting class.

Considering that the game is about to shutdown and he only have a few hours to play Shirou didn't really want to waste it in the "Character Creation" page, so...

He simply pick, human race, male, current looks, and random class.

And went to start the game.

He blacked out for a few seconds before waking up outside a building in the starting town, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of NPC's, bundled up in heavy clothing to block off the cold wind.

As he stood there, admiring the starting town a message came to him asking if he want to see the city background introduction.

Clicking "yes" Shirou was told that he was in Atlas, in the city of Silberlicht. Unperturbed, Shirou continou to read the city background.

The town of beginning 'Silberlicht', the silver mining town located in the Atlas region, is a picturesque place nestled amidst the cold and snowy landscape. Despite the harsh climate, the town has thrived due to its rich silver deposits and the bustling activity centered around the mining industry.

Unfortunately, even in a town as idyllic as Silberlicht, the presence of bandits can pose a significant challenge. The remote location of the town and its valuable silver deposits make it an enticing target for opportunistic criminals.

The town's authorities and residents are well aware of the bandit problem and have taken measures to mitigate the risks. Silberlicht has a small but dedicated local guard force responsible for maintaining law and order. They patrol the town and its surroundings, keeping a watchful eye for any signs of bandit activity.

In addition to the local guards, the inn and other establishments often hire additional security personnel to ensure the safety of their guests and protect their premises.

Travelers passing through Silberlicht are advised to be cautious and take necessary precautions, such as traveling in groups, securing their belongings, and avoiding remote or poorly lit areas, especially at night.

Finished reading Shirou started thought about what to do now.

Checking the time, Shirou realized he had around 4 hours left until shutdown.

Without wasting time, he walked off to take a stroll around the town, just enough to get familiar with the place.

Walking by without any real destination in mind, he continued to admire the scenery around him, letting it all sink in.

After all, he only had one chance to experience this world in all its glory before it got shutdown.

Walking around, Shirou notices the intricate details of the town.

The town exudes a charming and cozy atmosphere, with wooden buildings adorned with snow-covered roofs. The architecture reflects a blend of traditional and functional design, showcasing sturdy structures that can withstand the harsh winters. The streets are neatly laid out, lined with gas lamps that cast a warm glow during the long winter nights.

Shirou then arrive at the center of the city.

At the heart of Silberlicht lies the bustling inn, a hub of activity and a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The inn serves as a welcoming refuge for weary miners, travelers, and adventurers seeking respite from the cold. Inside, you'll find a roaring fireplace, casting a comforting warmth throughout the establishment. The walls are adorned with mining tools, maps, and paintings depicting the town's history and natural beauty.

The inn offers cozy rooms with comfortable beds and warm blankets, ensuring a restful stay for its guests. The common areas are vibrant with lively conversations and laughter, as people gather to share stories and experiences. The inn's bar is well-stocked, offering a variety of drinks, including the renowned local Silvermist Ale, brewed from the purest water flowing down from the surrounding mountains.

looking around Shirou noticed other facilities of the town.

Other facilities in Silberlicht include the mining offices and warehouses, where the town's precious silver is processed, stored, and transported. The mining offices are bustling with activity, with miners coming and going, discussing their findings and planning their next expeditions. The warehouses are filled with stacks of silver ore, ready to be transported to other regions.

And finally he arrived at the market.

For daily needs, the town boasts a market square where NPCs can purchase fresh produce, supplies, and handmade crafts. The market is a lively place, even in the cold weather, as NPCs gather to trade goods and exchange news.

After familiarize himself with the town Shirou decided to explore the forest.

Or as the game would like to call it, dungeon.

Looking at the teleportation scroll in his hand, Shirou carefully read the name and the description of the item he just randomly bought from the NPC.

Every character started with 100 gold in their inventory, usually such amount was not enough to buy anything but low level potion, but due the the game is about to shutdown they reduce the in-game prices to the most cheap, in fact Shirou still have 99 gold after he bought the scroll.

'Teleportation Scroll (Bandit's Forest)

Consumable

Teleport the player directly inside the Bandit Forest Dungeon (LV 3 - LV 6)

This item vanish after use.'

And the dungeon he is going to visit is the Bandit forest, where the monster is design to look like a bandit and wild animal instead of a horrendous monster.

The forest itself look like a a regular forest in Japan wilderness, he should know after all the times he spent in the forest for hunting dangerous magical creatures.

The forest were thick and flush, somehow the design for the dungeon were the tropical forest rather than a winter state forest, for some unknown reason.

Shirou were looking at the dungeon description, it said.

(Just as the town of Silberlicht become more and more Prosperous, it also become a juicy target for the bandits. These criminal were hiding on the Silberlicht forest and awaiting merchant to pass so they can rob them.

Dungeon detected: Bandit's Forest

Mob level 3-6.

Would you like to enter?)

Shirou clicked 'yes'.

Why not? It looks fun. Shirou thought as he vanished in a bright light.

Unfortunately for Shirou...

23.59.58

23.59.59

00.00.00

00.00.01

00.00.02

He didn't realize that his game time had just passed 12 o'clock.

When Shirou appeared, he was in the middle of a forest.

Unlike the icy-looking region of Atlas, the Bandit Forest look like a typical forest he saw in Japan, green leaves and strong bark it looks word apart from the previous town of Silberlicht.

Shirou who think nothing of the difference in visual started to walk deeper onto the forest, with the intention to find the bandits, beat them, and leveled up.

The idiot didn't even bother to check his starting class.

It was only a few moments of walking when Shirou heard a scream somewhere in the forest, instinctively he started to run towards the scream.

When he arrive he saw teenage girl hugging a younger child while a man in black armored standing above them with sword drawn in his hand and another man in similar armor standing nearby watching them.

Seeing the scene, Shirou thought was...

'This is a quest, right?'

Of course, the idiot is still clueless.
