A/N: Before I get on with this chapter, I just wanted to send a personal apology to Raye23. They gave me a request for a chapter and I haven't had time to work on it due to an art blitz I was on. I promise you, though, it'll be posted before the month is over.
Deku and Todoroki were sent off on another joint patrol in Musutafu. Even if a good portion of the city had been reduced to rubble, they didn't see hopelessness and devastation. Rather, they saw a chance to really show people what they could really do as heroes and that heroes were still worthy of being believed in. Naturally, this wasn't easy, but their love gave them the determination to succeed.
"It's quiet over here, Deku. I can't see any signs of looters or rioters."
"Keep your guard up. You know as well as I do that anything can happen."
Todoroki nodded. "Of course."
"HELP! Someone help!"
Deku and Todoroki rushed to see what the commotion was. They saw a group of three villains attempting to rob a Lawson.
"Give us the money, pal!" said one villain, a man with a green mohawk who was wearing a black T-shirt, a green vest, green cargo pants and black combat boots.
"Don't make us take it outta your ass!" said the second, a bald man in a gray armored suit with yellow accents.
"Please, don't hurt me!" The shopkeeper – an old, balding man – put his hands up. "I'll give you what you want!"
The third villain – a woman with voluminous dark red hair and a matching bodycon dress – smirked and held up a burlap sack. "Good. Put everything in the sack!"
"Not so fast!" said Deku.
The three villains spun around, and the mohawk villain pointed at Deku and Todoroki:
"Everyone, get them!"
The villains sprang into action, but it soon became clear that their Quirks weren't powerful enough to put Deku and Todoroki out of action. Despite the villains' best efforts, Deku and Todoroki completely overwhelmed them.
"Thank you, heroes!" said the store owner. "I thought I was done for!"
Deku smiled and gave a thumbs up. "You're welcome! We're always glad to…"
Just then, Deku's Danger Sense went off.
"Shoko, look out!"
Deku and Todoroki rushed outside just in time to see a giant ice dragon heading towards them. They managed to dodge the beast just in time, but the person controlling it wasn't going to give up that easily:
"You two are heroes, right? Well, you've got no chance against me!"
Todoroki clenched her fists. "Tokoyami…he told me of another ice villain at Gunga! You must be him!"
"Indeed. I am Geten Himura, better known to the sniveling public as 'Iceman'. Judging by your white hair, you too must be a descendant of the Himuras, but I couldn't tell why your hair is polluted with that foul red color."
Todoroki growled. "You take that back! You're not worthy of my mom's name or my father's name!"
"We'll see about that!"
Geten attempted to take down Deku and Todoroki with his ice. Naturally, being half a fire user, Todoroki mustered up a powerful blast of fire, only to be shocked when she saw how well Geten's ice withstood her fire.
"HA! Is that the best you can do!? I've spent years honing my ability to control ice! You have no chance against me!"
"We'll see about that! Deku, see if you can distract him! I've got an idea!"
"Right!"
Deku attempted to restrain Geten with Blackwhip, but Geten caught wind of this and sent his ice hurtling towards him. However, this was exactly what Todoroki needed:
"FLASHFREEZE HEATWAVE!"
Giving it all she had, Todoroki fired a superheated blast of air at Geten. While it merely melted all of the ice he was controlling, the force of the blast was enough to blow him backwards off of his feet and send him tumbling end-over-end until he collided with a destroyed building. Deku – who'd been following him closely – swooped in and captured him with Blackwhip.
"No more evildoing for you, villain!"
"Gloat at your victory for now, but the fact remains, the Paranormal Liberation Front will rise again!"
Geten attempted to break free of Blackwhip, but it was useless. Todoroki and Deku closed in, as did some nearby pros, including Hawks:
"Nice work, Deku and Todoroki! Honestly never thought we'd catch this guy again after he broke out."
Deku smiled. "Well, we're just doing our best in spite of everything! Actually, having Shoko is a boon!"
Todoroki giggled. "Oh you!"
Hawks pointed his index finger at Deku and Todoroki. "Yeah, Endeavor's told me a lot about you two. Based on what he's told me, I ship you two hard."
Deku smiled nervously. "Eh…heh heh…"
Todoroki merely shrugged. Even if they weren't used to people using fanfic terms such as "shipping" in regards to their relationship, at least her and Deku had the satisfaction of knowing that people supported them.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
