"I want the whole realm to be covered to find that Snow White!" shouted the Evil Queen, holding the Huntsman's heart.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" said the Huntsman and went out searching.
"I do love how you treat him as a doll." said a dark voice.
"Who's there?" asked the Evil Queen. "Reveal yourself or it will be your death."
"Calm, Your Majesty, let's say... I'm a bit of an admirer with your work. The heart ripping, the blood and gore and the sad origin on how the princess couldn't keep a secret. Mwah, what a beautiful story."
"How did you know that?"
"It's my job, Your Majesty," he said in a cold voice. "I need to know them all. Such as the tragedy of your mother, the sorrow in your heart, the confusion of the princess, the unknown of your family."
"What do you mean, unknown? I have a terrible mother, a kind father, a dead lover, a horrible husband and a wretched little step daughter and that's all! Who else is there?"
"Only time will tell, Your Majesty."
"Reveal yourself this instant!"
"Or what? Will I be the most wanted in the kingdom? You can't even find a princess, how can you find the face of the shadows?"
"I have sources that can tell me?"
"Rumpelstiltskin? I'm afraid the Dark One has his own little problems to be worrying about."
"You think you're so powerful? I'm the most cruel in all the realms. I will get you to show your face."
"If you wish."
The Evil Queen turned to see a man with a cane, a hat with a skull on it, a black suit and perfect white teeth.
"Who are you?" asked the Evil Queen.
"Dr Facilier at your service." said Dr Facilier.
"Well, what do you want?"
"To make a deal of course."
"I know better than to make deals with other people."
"Of course you do. The Dark One and his deals are well known but I am a man of the shadows with great voodoo powers, the control over life and death."
"No one had that magic?"
"Says who? The Dark One? Believe me, the doctor could have brought the stable boy his life back if he wanted."
"His name is Daniel and what are you talking about?"
"Do you really believe Rumpelstiltskin would help you without a deal? Through the goodness of his heart? He wanted you to be the woman you are today. He doosn't care about your love life."
"How dare you!"
"You are known for your work with hearts, can't you feel that I'm right?"
The Evil Queen stayed quiet.
"Precisely." said Dr Facilier.
"What do you offer?" asked the Evil Queen.
"A spell of course, I am trapped with one foot in this world and one in a less pleasant place. I wish to be free and I believe your mother had the answer to that."
"I will not be seeing her."
"I never said that, I said I need her knowledge she had. Her spell book."
"You can't have it."
"I never said I wanted it, just a way to free me and I offer you a way to find your Snow White, you can rip her heart out without a huntsman doing the fun work for you. Do we have a deal?"
"Yes."
The Evil Queen bought her mother's spell book and found the answer.
"A ruby." she said. "One of a kind that can free someone in your state."
"And where is it?"
"It doesn't say here and what about my part of the bargain?"
"Yes, yes, yes. Cupid's arrow, it shows what your heart most desires but a spell in this very text book can turn it to what your heart hates the most."
"And where do I find it?"
"You can't help me find my ruby, I don't help you find your arrow, I believe this is where we go our separate ways but I know we will be meeting again soon. Ta ta."
