Chapter 2:A Mysterious Person

Five years ago

Batman on watch tower was in monitor duty being on radar to check any threats may come then he got alert about a strange energy related to dimensional travel.

In sky a portal opened and from it came a figure the figure was falling down then in a flash of green light there appeared a red manta ray like creature.

In watch tower batman alerted the whole league they took a javelin to reach the location where the portal opened superman arrived before they came and searching the site.

Superman search this area said batman.

Jonn try to find any thing said batman.

After some time both superman and jonn didn't find anything.

We don't know what came from that portal we don't know if it is a threat or not.

I think its not a threat if it is whoever came would start attacking by now said flash.

But we need to be prepared.

We see the person who came from the portal the person is a boy around 16 years this is ben Tennyson the wielder of the omnitrix, he was stuck in null void as a ditto clone while fighting vilgax he is 11 years when he was stuck these years he is in nullvoid which is a survival battle for him.

Being in null void changed a lot in ben he is more serious and attentive to his surroundings while fighting and he on guard 24/7.

Now he is walking on the streets of metropolis city it didn't take him long to find he is in another dimension he searched for Bellwood and couldn't and find metropolis which didn't exist in his dimension he has long hair reaching his shoulders and his clothes are tattered he decided he need to learn about this world before he could do anything to searched for a lake and bathed getting rid of all dirt on him and he bathed after 5 years using clockwork he made his clothes like new ones now he decided to have lunch after all he is eating normal earth food in five years.

Using his diamond shards from diamond head he sold a small one which gave him enough money for a month, after having lunch he went to library to find about this new world he was surprised by knowing there are not one or two but many superheroes and they are a team called justice league and learned each has different skills ben didn't wanted to join them because ben being ben he decided to stay solo as he is used and being in null void made him understand not to trust every one blind so he is somewhat reserved.

Its been a week ben arrived in this dimension using upgrade he created a ID for himself hacking the database of there US and present he is staying at a hotel he is taking his long required break for standing on the edge of the sword for five years and need to survive he is relaxing at this moment.

In watch tower the league was not successful in searching for ben in their pov the mysterious thing or person jonn used his telepathic abilities to find the person but he couldn't because the omnitrix blocks any telepathic or psychic attacks due to that he couldn't find ben.

Superman concentrated to find any heartbeat other than humans but ben being a human he couldn't.

Batman decided to use his way by hacking traffic cams in all the four direction and the whole city to find anything while it takes a while to find using this way he waited.

So ben decided not to use his alien powers for money he decided to work parttime in a smoothie shop which is his favourite shop.

Using the money for his food and hotel bills he is using it wisely and ben had a hair cut after five years he has short hair and his body is fit and more muscular than his age.

While as normal as every day ben is doing his partitme job suddenly he heard a loud boom and the ground trembled a bit, ben completed his job went to see what happened there bank being robbed ben didn't care about it he though superman will come but the robbers held some civilians he held one women in her 20's as hostage taking it as an advantage the robber tried to molest her which angered ben understanding that he need to intervene he went to a alleyway to transform.

Suddenly the robber who hold the woman as hostage suddenly removed his hands from her and started hitting himself and he was lifted in to air and thrown towards the police immediately the police arrested him.

Inside the bank there are nearly 10 robbers holding hostages suddenly they began to fall unconscious with a cry other robbers couldn't understand what was happening after a minute all of them except them fell to ground the remaining one out of his will went outside and surrendered himself and told others were unconscious.

Mean while superman was fighting metallo causing havoc after defeating him he asked jonn whats happening jonn told how the robbers surrenderd himself which surprised him then he left to the bank to see what happened.

Superman arrived at the bank.

Sorry officer took some time to handle metallo said superman.

Don't worry the robbers were arrested said the officer.

What happened did any one from the league came asked superman.

No but suddenly one started to beat himself and others fell unconscious and one surrendered himself.

Not understanding what happened superman asked if he can see the security camera, he was again surprised that nobody was inside the bank but the robbers fell unconscious.

Mean while in the same alley way a figure emerged it is ben as ghostfreak using ghostfreak abilities he turned intangible and subdued the situation as possessing them and giving a shock to their brain ben transformed back.

Phew that was close said ben.

Then ben left to his room in apartment.

In the watch tower superman said what happened to the league they saw the security camera of the bank all were surprised.

Batman appointed the young league which has robin, kid flash, kaldur, megan and artemis and superboy clone of superman to investigate.

After some days of investigation batman found a clue about those aliens half of the places has a person common it is ben he held a doubt about that and discussed it with the league so they decided to sent the young ones.

As soon as the situation gets normal ben transforms into xlr8 and sped from the place soon the young justice also follows him with out him noticing ben after going away to three blocks he transformed back and began to walk to his room and the yl is following him soon ben noticed he is being followed being in nullvoid teached ben to keep his senses active all the time to test this he went to a secluded place which looks like scrap yard he transformed into a lenopan immediately he shape shifted to his human self.

As he began to walk he was met by robin holding a birdrang in his hand and he turned to see all the yl was there.

Aren't you batman's side kick asked ben what are you doing here shouldn't you be in gotham asked ben.

I am not his side kick I am his partner said robin.

I heard people calling you as side kick said ben with a smug look.

He turned to see them all and are you call your selves as side kick or partner asked ben.

Then superboy charged to attack ben changing the density of his body making it loose allowed superboy to hit him in the face but superboys hand stuck in bens face all of them are horrified by looking at it but soon superboy couldn't remove his hand then ben said its my turn and hit him straight in the face.

As Superboy staggered back, the rest of the team leapt into action. Robin darted around Ben, using his agility and gadgets to distract him. His grappling hooks lashed out, trying to pin Ben down, but Ben's shape-shifting allowed him to slip free with ease.

Kid Flash zipped around Ben, creating a dizzying blur of motion. The rapid speed disoriented Ben, but it also made Kid Flash vulnerable to accidental collisions. Ben's form twisted and contorted, adapting to Kid Flash's high-speed attacks, ben slammed his hands on ground which covered with sludge from his body which made difficult for kf to move he was stuck and then swatted away.

Miss Martian tried to use her telekinesis to hold Ben in place, but his constant shifting rendered her efforts ineffective. Ben's body morphed fluidly, evading her mental grasp with ease.

Aqualad unleashed powerful jets of water from his hydrokinesis, aiming to destabilize Ben. The streams of water collided with Ben, but soon ben stabilised him self and rushed towards aqualad and hit him making his hand into a large hammer.

Artemis, with her sharp eyes and precision, fired arrows aimed at Ben's weak spots. Each arrow missed or was deflected by Ben's morphing body, frustrating Artemis as she adjusted her tactics then ben fired mud at artemis covering her whole body.

Despite their best efforts, Ben's shape-shifting prowess made it impossible for the team to land a decisive hit. As the battle wore on, Ben seemed to be testing their limits, gauging their reactions and adaptability. His smirks and taunts indicated he was in control, enjoying the challenge rather than fighting with full intensity.

The team grew increasingly exhausted, their movements slowing as they struggled to keep up with Ben's relentless onslaught. Robin's gadgets malfunctioned under pressure, Kid Flash's speed began to wane, Miss Martian's concentration faltered, Aqualad's water attacks lost force, and Artemis's arrows became erratic.

Finally, Ben decided it was time to end the test. with force he extended his arms swatting them all Robin, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, Aqualad, and Artemis were thrown back, their bodies hitting the ground with force.

Is it really what you got I wasn't even trying said ben then soon he was attacked by superboy, then ben revealed his true lenopan form and absorbing super boy into him which horrified them all.

Superboy no! shouted aqualad.

Who said that I killed him the he spat superboy from his body who was unconscious.

Then ben absorbed all the sludge in the surrounding and which stick to them.

Kid Flash: (frustrated) "Yeah, it was intense. He's a lot stronger and more unpredictable than we expected."

Batman: "You shouldn't have been caught off guard. You need to be prepared for anything. This is what being a hero is about."

Superboy: (irritated) "Ben said something during the fight. He mentioned that the League doesn't fully trust us. At first, I thought he was just trying to get under our skin, but now…"

Batman: "Ben's comments aren't without merit. The League's cautious approach isn't just about you. It's about ensuring that any new team members can handle the responsibility."

Robin: (defensively) "How can you determine if we're capable or not if you don't give us a chance to prove ourselves? Testing us like this just feels like you're waiting for us to fail!"

Batman: (sternly) "It's not about giving chances. It's about assessing risk and ensuring that the team is ready for the threats you'll face."

Robin: (angrily) "How can you assess our readiness if you're not actually testing us in real situations? How do you expect us to show our capabilities if we're constantly held back?"

Batman: (calmly) "Real situations are unpredictable. That's why we need to see how you handle pressure in controlled environments. Your performance in these situations helps us gauge whether you can handle the real threats."

Superboy: (bitterly) "It feels like we're stuck in a cycle. We're tested, but we're never given a real chance to succeed on our own terms. It's frustrating and demoralizing."

Aqualad: (disheartened) "We're giving everything we have. We face threats and do our best to be ready. It feels like no matter how hard we try, it's never enough."

Robin: (passionately) "You know, this is something someone needs to learn on their own. You can't keep us caged forever. No wonder people keep calling us sidekicks. I still wonder—do you see us as partners, or just sidekicks?"

Batman: (taken aback) "That's not fair, Robin. We've been trying to guide you, to help you grow into your roles."

Robin: (with intensity) "Guide us? It feels more like you're holding us back! Every time we try to step up, we're met with more tests, more doubts. How are we supposed to grow if you're constantly keeping us in the shadows?"

Superboy: (joining in) "Exactly! You say you're preparing us, but it feels like you're never actually letting us take the lead. If you see us as capable, then stop treating us like we're not ready for real responsibility!"

Batman: (calm but firm) "It's not about treating you like you're not ready. It's about ensuring that when you do step up, you're truly prepared for what lies ahead."

Robin: (passionately) "Prepared? We've been on the front lines, fighting alongside you and dealing with threats. We're already facing those challenges! If you don't start treating us as equals, we'll never feel like more than just your backup!"

Aqualad: (nodding in agreement) "We're not asking for special treatment. We're asking to be given the same level of trust and responsibility as everyone else. It's frustrating to be held to a lower standard just because we're younger."

Ben: (stepping forward, observing the heated argument) "You know, I couldn't help but overhear this. In my world, my grandpa—he's the greatest hero I know—trusted me even when I didn't have much experience. He guided me, but he never stopped me from stepping up."

Robin: (turning to Ben, curious) "What do you mean?"

Ben: "My grandpa always believed in giving me chances to prove myself, even when I didn't have experience to fight with a normal criminal. He knew that real growth comes from taking risks and facing challenges head-on. His trust in me helped me become who I am."

Superboy: (surprised) "So, you're saying he let you take risks and make mistakes?"

Ben: "Exactly. He guided me and trusted me, but he didn't hold me back because I am a kid or inexperienced. He knew that if I was to become a hero, I needed to face challenges and learn from them, not just be protected from them."

Batman: (reflecting on Ben's words) "That's a different approach. But our responsibility is to ensure that the risks are manageable and that you're prepared for the consequences of those risks."

Ben: (with a serious tone) then what the use of being a hero? there is nothing manageable in hero business either we should win or let all down who trusted us "Let me give you some perspective. I've faced universal threats that you couldn't even imagine. I'm not telling you this to boast, but when I was ten years old I fighted warlords who ran on universal conquest, even I saved my entire universe."

Wonder Woman: (impressed) "Saved an entire universe at ten? That's remarkable. How did you manage such a feat?"

Ben: "Even when I acted childish and careless at times, I knew clearly that if I messed up, someone could die—or everyone could die. It's a lot to have on your shoulders".

Superman: (nodding thoughtfully) "The weight of responsibility is immense. It's clear that you've learned to handle it by embracing both the challenges and the trust placed in you."

Ben: "Yes, and it's what drives you to rise to the occasion. May be if i pretend that everything is a big joke, but when it's hero time, I know exactly what I need to do."

Batman: (acknowledging) "I see your point. It's clear that there's merit in giving you more responsibility while still providing guidance."

Robin: (hopeful) "If we're given more opportunities to prove ourselves, we'll rise to the occasion. We just need the chance."

Batman: "Alright. I'll discuss this with the League. It's important that we find a way to give you the responsibilities you're ready for while still ensuring your safety and readiness."

Robin: "Thanks, Batman. We're ready to show what we're capable of."

Ben: "And remember, real growth often comes from stepping up and facing big challenges. Trust and opportunity go hand in hand. My grandpa showed me that, and it made all the difference."

Wonder Woman: "Indeed. It seems you've learned that true heroism involves both the courage to face immense challenges and the wisdom to grow from them."

Batman: "Understood. We'll work on finding that balance."
