And here comes the second part to the Two Heroes Arc! I'm very excited to deliver more of this story, and we'll be getting into some big stuff that'll lead into future chapters. Anyways, I might as not keep you all waiting! Enjoy the chapter!
"Wow, this place is huge!" Rebecca exclaimed, dressed in her costume with Izuku as they ventured into the wide open space of I-Island.
"Yeah, the pictures don't do it justice!" the freckled teen noted excitedly. Upon finally arriving at the man-made island, the two were excited to explore all the attractions offered before they were completely opened to the public. Of course, they wound up almost getting themselves trampled by fans of All Might, who were all enthusiastic about the number one hero's visit. Nevertheless, they managed to break away from the crowd, wandering about the island.
"You think I could livestream all that we're seeing?" Rebecca inquired as she pulled out her phone.
"It's probably better to wait until everything's public," Izuku advised in response.
"Quite right, Young Midoriya!" All Might agreed, "That said, I can see how one might not be able to resist getting footage!" he pointed out, "Don't worry, it won't be long before you can record all you'd like, Young Bluegarden," he reassured to the Leaper Quirk user.
"Okay," she replied, putting her phone away, "So where's this friend of yours you were going to meet?" she questioned curiously. The number one hero was quick to explain that his friend was a researcher on the island and someone he had met long ago. With that, he also was someone that hadn't learned All Might's secret of One For All, so that needed to be kept under wraps. Izuku understood. The danger of knowing about One For All was something he learned could have dire consequences. Thinking about that, he looked over at Rebecca, who blinked in surprise. But before they could start another conversation...
"There you are!" a voice called out, getting their attentions. They looked to see a shapely and attractive pale-skinned young woman of slightly above average height with quite a round face hopping towards them aboard what looked like a red pogo stick. She had wavy blonde hair which reached halfway down her back, two shorter pieces she left over her shoulders, side-swept bangs that framed her face, aqua-blue eyes with notable upper eyelashes, some slightly longer ones extended on each side and pronounced lower eyelashes.
She wore a white short-sleeved dress shirt with plaid cuffs, a large bow of the same design at her neck, and a dark raspberry pink waistcoat. Accompanying these were pale gray Capri pants, under which are a pair of plaid pink socks as well as a pair of heeled brown boots. She also had a wristwatch and pink, oval-framed glasses.
"Welcome, Uncle Might!" she greeted as she bounced off of her vehicle and into All Might's arms as he laughed, spinning her around happily.
"It's so good to see you, Melissa!" he exclaimed, while Izuku and Rebecca were somewhat befuddled. It turned out that the girl was his friend's daughter, Melissa Shield. She had come ahead to greet the group in place of her father, who was busy working on a breakthrough in his research.
"It's nice to meet you," the One For All inheritor greeted, taking off his glove to shake the spectacled girl's hand, "I'm a first-year student at UA High School, Izuku Midoriya," he introduced.
"In the Hero Course?" Melissa assumed, "So that's how you know Uncle Might!" she realized, glancing over to Rebecca, "And I'm guessing you're in the Hero Course, too," she mentioned to her.
"Yeah," the Leaper Quirk user confirmed with a nod, "My name's Rebecca Bluegarden," she introduced, giving off a smile. After a few moments of Melissa inspecting their costumes and asking about their Quirks, the group was ready to head off to the labs to see All Might's friend. But elsewhere on the island, a group of shady individuals had arrived...
Meeting David Shield was such a nice surprise for Izuku, especially upon learning that he and All Might were friends. Rebecca giggled at how excited he was to be introduced to the maker behind the number one hero's costumes over the years. As always, he was the biggest fanboy when it came to anything to his idol. However, David did take notice of All Might coughing a little into his right fist.
"Melissa, why don't you take our new friends on a tour of the island?" he suggested to his daughter, "I think me and All Might should get some time to catch up..." he insisted.
"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea!" she replied.
"Wait, you're not busy?" Rebecca questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"No, I'm happy to show off our hard work to future heroes!" Melissa responded, "Come on!" she beckoned, walking out of the lab with the two U.A. students in tow. A while passed as they ventured around the island, with the spectacled girl showing her new friends all the inventions made around the island. It was overwhelming, but amazing. Izuku and Rebecca were practically enthralled.
"When things go public, I'm definitely gonna get video of all this!" the latter declared, "This is like a journey into the future!" she pointed out excitedly.
"It really is," Melissa agreed, "A lot of the work the scientists put out here is meant to help shape the world into a much better one," she noted, "Like my dad, I'm trying to be the best I can be in order for heroes to excel," she told her new friends.
"Your dad must be really inspirational to you then," Izuku pointed out, causing the spectacled girl to blush in embarrassment.
"Yeah, I guess so..." she concluded sheepishly, "Though honestly, I should really be studying a lot more..." she admitted, "In order to be the best I can be, I have to give it my all," she stated.
"I feel the same way," Izuku agreed, "To be someone as great as All Might, I have to give it my all, too," he mentioned, closing his right hand into a fist determinedly.
"Uncle Might really means a lot to you, doesn't he?" Melissa inferred.
"Oh, uh... yeah, I guess..." the freckled teen stammered out, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
"What about you, Rebecca?" the spectacled girl asked of the Leaper Quirk user, causing her to perk up, "You wanna be a hero like Uncle Might, too?" she inquired.
"Um... I dunno, honestly..." Rebecca answered, glancing down for a moment, "All this time, I've been wanting to follow my best friend and watch him see his goal through," she pointed out, "So now... I should really start thinking about my own," she concluded.
"Rebecca..." Izuku uttered out worriedly.
"Well, I think you're both gonna be fine heroes someday," Melissa assured as they both blinked in surprise, "So where else would you like to go?" she inquired of her new friends.
"Hey, it's Deku!" a familiar voice called out, getting their attentions as they turned to see Ochaco there with Momo, Kyoka, and Homura, all dressed in their hero costumes, "And Rebecca, too!" the Zero Gravity Quirk user noted as she jogged over.
"Uraraka?!" Izuku yelped in surprise.
"What are you all doing here?" Rebecca inquired, seeing their classmates approach.
"Yaoyorozu got tickets from her dad," Kyoka answered.
"My father's own some shares for the scientists here on the island and received an invitation to come to the expo," the Creation Quirk user explained, "He couldn't make it, but because he had those tickets, he decided to have me take the trip," she mentioned.
"And we were lucky enough to get the chance to come along," Homura added with a small smile.
"The others are here, too!" Ochaco pointed out, "They just can't visit the preview..." she noted.
"So these are your classmates, Deku?" Melissa guessed as she blinked in surprise.
"Yeah," Izuku answered.
"Why don't we talk more over some drinks?" Rebecca suggested, "I'm kinda parched for the moment..." she admitted sheepishly.
"Sure!" Melissa responded, "I can't wait to hear more about all you've been through as a class!" she mentioned with a hint of excitement in her voice.
Izuku felt almost left out as Melissa was now talking with the other girls at the drink bar they stopped at. Fortunately, Rebecca was still with him, seated at the same table. She overheard Homura struggle to keep the secret of their battle against Stain under wraps when the girls started talking about their internships. A lot of time had passed for her and the others, even if it was only one semester.
"Hey..." her best friend chimed in, getting her attention, "That whole thing about you not knowing what kind of hero you wanna be..." he started to say as she blinked in surprise, "why is that?" he inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"I... honestly don't know," the Leaper Quirk user answered, "I've wanted to support you for the longest time... and I thought it'd be cool to be a hero like you!" she pointed out, "But..." she continued, lowering her head slightly, "I'm starting to wonder what exactly I'm doing this for..." she admitted somewhat sadly, "I wanna definitely help people..." she mentioned, "It's just that I don't know if I can be that helpful to everyone as I am right now..." she confessed.
"Rebecca..." Izuku uttered worriedly.
"Here you go!" another voice exclaimed, setting a pair of drinks down in front of them. They looked to find Denki there with Minoru, who had gotten jobs at the island as waiting staff. Weisz was also involved as he started flirting with Melissa, only to wind up getting jabbed in the ears by Kyoka's cable-like earlobes as he yelped in pain. Tenya also sped in to lecture the trio about proper work ethic.
"Jeez, who else got invited...?" Rebecca mumbled under her breath. As if she was tempting fate, she and the others heard a loud boom in the distance.
"What was that?!" Izuku exclaimed. He quickly shot up from his seat and ran toward the stadium where smoke was billowing, with everyone else except for the trio of waiters following him. Surprises were aplenty today... and they weren't over yet.
Well, introductions are almost over! And the action's almost on its way! Hope you're all excited for what's ahead! Thanks for reading!
