Well, we got back to this story trucking along real quick! We got a lot of things set up last chapter, with all the students present meeting up and the introductions to Labilia and the Zaiten Three! So now, it's almost time for the party!
I hope you all enjoy the chapter!
"Huh..." Rebecca sighed in embarrassment as she lied upon her hotel bed, staring up at the ceiling. She was frustrated, embarrassed, and overall annoyed with how today had gone. She didn't even wanna play on her Switch before getting ready for the party tonight. Though with everything that had happened, she didn't know if she wanted to go.
She sat up and got off of her bed, going over to the closet to open it. Inside upon a hangar was a red dress decorated with frills, and would show a fair amount of her cleavage. She also had a pair of high-heel sandals with heart-shaped markings on the straps.
'Witch bought me this dress the second after she found out I was heading to I-Island...' she remembered, 'Still, I don't know if I can even see myself going to the party... especially since that bratty Labilia's gonna be there...' she grumbled out through her thoughts. Compared to the blue-haired girl's teasing, she actually wouldn't have minded if Mina were there in her place. She looked at herself in the mirror with the dress over her form and sighed again.
Her biggest worry about going to the gathering wasn't about Labilia. It was Izuku. He had never seen her in a dress, and she was scared to wonder what he would think of her upon seeing her in formal attire. Her blush grew as she remembered what her blue-haired rival had said about her being jealous. She wanted nothing more than to turn the tables... but wasn't keen on doing that at her best friend's expense. Just then, she heard a knock at her door.
"Rebecca, are you getting ready?" Homura's voice inquired from outside.
"Homura?" the Leaper Quirk user uttered in surprise, going over to open the door, "Uh, I still need to get set with some things first, but-" She stopped talking upon seeing what her classmate was wearing. She was in a white kimono with blue cloud-based designs along it, with a light-colored rose on her hip, a navy-blue hakama with white trimming on the bottoms, and a pair of knee-length black boots.
"Iida did say that we should meet at least ten minutes early..." she pointed out in remembrance.
"Wow, your kimono looks really nice!" Rebecca complimented.
"Thank you," Homura responded with gratitude, "It used to belong to my master before she passed," she noted, causing the Leaper Quirk user to blink in surprise, "Don't worry, I'm fine," she reassured.
"That's so nice though," Rebecca mentioned as she smiled a little.
"Is that the dress you'll be wearing tonight?" the Soul Blade Quirk user assumed, pointing toward the red dress her classmate was holding, "How bold..." she said with a blush forming on her cheeks.
"Eep!" Rebecca squeaked as her whole face went red.
"O-Oh, I didn't mean it like that!" Homura stammered in claim, "I think it'll be a wonderful dress for you to wear!" she assured.
"Mmm..." the Leaper Quirk user hummed out as she glanced away worriedly, "Do you really think it'll look okay?" she questioned, looking back at the mirror.
"You are worried because of what that Labilia girl from earlier said, aren't you?" Homura guessed.
"Huh..." Rebecca sighed, "Ever since she got out of junior high, she skipped out on high school to become a famous streamer that gets to go wherever she wants thanks to her clout..." she told her classmate, "She's super popular, and I'm just... me..." she muttered out.
"But she isn't Midoriya's friend," the Soul Blade Quirk user noted to her surprise, "And I'm sure that you're much more popular to him than Labilia will ever be," she added confidently. It took a moment for Rebecca to register what her friend was saying. But once she did, she smiled.
"Give me a few minutes," she requested of Homura while getting her dress off of the hangar, "I'll be as quick as I can!" she promised, hurrying into the bathroom. Whether things went well or not for the evening didn't matter to her. She was just ready to enjoy herself amongst her friends and her best friend.
"Does a proper meeting time mean nothing to anyone, anymore?!" a suited Tenya questioned out of frustration at the entrance to the central tower, with Izuku having just arrived to find that only Shoto, Weisz, Minoru and Denki were there, all dressed for the occasion as well.
"Chill out, dude..." the Machina Maker Quirk user insisted with arms crossed over his chest. Fortunately, the girls started pouring in, with him, Minoru and Denki practically drooling in excitement. Ochaco, Momo, Kyoka and especially Melissa were wearing beautiful dresses that made their blushes grow brightly.
"Hey, sorry I'm late!" Shiki apologized as he entered, wearing a black suit with a blue tie, "Wow, everyone looks great!" he complimented upon seeing how well-dressed everyone was.
"Th-Thanks, Shiki..." Ochaco stammered out as she blushed a little.
"And here we have the spectacularly dressed to impress group of Class One-A!" a familiar voice announced, belonging to Labilia as she entered with a violet dress that had lavender lines and frills upon it.
"It's that girl from earlier..." Kyoka noted, folding her arms over her chest.
"Kind of a letdown..." Minoru admitted with a shrug.
"Yeah, kinda..." Denki agreed, while Weisz simply nodded.
"Oh, I see we're missing a few people..." Labilia noted as she kept recording with her cube-shaped device, "Did Rebecca decide it wasn't worth it to come along?" she wondered aloud tauntingly.
"Bakugo and Kirishima aren't here either, you know," Tenya pointed out.
"And Kogetsu," Shoto added.
"Who the heck are you, by the way?" Shiki asked curiously with a tilt of his head. At that moment, the doors opened again. Izuku looked over... and his heart practically jumped. Having entered were Rebecca and Homura, both in their respective formal attire. The former of the two had red nail polish upon her fingernails and toenails, matching her lovely dress.
"Hello, everyone," the latter of the two greeted with a respectful bow, "We apologize in advance for our tardiness," she said.
"You look nice, Homura," Shoto complimented with a small grin as he approached.
"And you as well, Shoto," she responded, letting out a little chuckle.
"Huh," Kyoka uttered out, "That's a new kind of flirting, I guess..." she remarked as she shrugged. In the meantime, Rebecca approached Izuku, who gulped.
"Uh... hey..." he greeted nervously.
"Hi..." she said, blushing a little as she looked off to the side, smiling all the while.
"You... uh... look really pretty..." he complimented with a stutter.
"Th-Thank you..." she stammered out in gratitude, "You look... pretty, too..." she mentioned.
"P-Pretty?" her best friend repeated in confusion, causing her to blink in surprise. However, they both wound up laughing heartily. Everyone else in their class watched on with small smiles.
"Well..." Labilia chimed in as she moved between Izuku and Rebecca, "it looks like you came to try and have fun after all, Rebecca..." she noted with a grin. The Leaper Quirk user huffed.
"I'm going to have fun," she declared firmly, "No matter what happens, I'll be happy as long I'm with my friends," she pointed out to her rival, who blinked in surprise.
"Well, whatever..." she said as she shrugged, "At least I'll get to see how you embarrass yourself at the party..." she mentioned tauntingly. Rebecca growled, but then felt a hand come onto her shoulder. She looked over to see Izuku giving her a reassuring smile, which she returned.
Little did they know that tonight was not going to go as planned...
And so everyone's arrived at the venue! We've got six chapters left before this story's all caught up, so let's keep going strong! Thanks for reading!
