Almost there, everyone! Hopefully, we'll finish this arc by Friday and have a new trailer to boot for the Season 3 adaptation! I hope you're all looking forward to it as much as I am in June!
Anyways, the last time we left off, the group split up as Izuku, Rebecca, Melissa and Labilia are continuing their trek to the top of the tower. Will they make it? Or will the villains get to them first? Let's find out!
"We're almost there!" Melissa called out to Izuku, Rebecca, and Labilia, as the quartet had finally passed the 190th floor of the tower.
"And so here we are, about to pull off the most daring and possibly mind-blowing rescue of a lifetime..." the content creator voiced out in a dramatic tone, "Leading the charge, Midori's gonna pound those bad guys into the dirt, especially with that awesome glove of his!" she mentioned excitedly. Beside her, Rebecca groaned and rolled her eyes. As they arrived at the flat section of the 191st floor, the One For All inheritor gasped as he noticed the bladed hand of Swordkil, who would've taken Melissa's head off if he hadn't lunged out to grab her and roll aside.
"Another one!" Rebecca exclaimed. She immediately kicked off her high-heeled sandals, activating her Quirk as her wing-like markings appeared upon her legs. As Swordkil lunged out to attack Izuku and Melissa again, she kicked him aside, making him stumble.
"Grrr...!" he growled, turning his attention onto the Leaper Quirk user as he morphed his left arm into a blade before running out at her.
"Rebecca!" Izuku cried out, getting onto his feet to go and help her. However, a large, glowing arm of orange energy was thrusted out at him, forcing him to jump back and dodge it. He looked to see Nino coming down the stairs, taking a ready stance as three other arms of energy were formed behind.
"That looks like an Ether-Type Quirk!" Melissa noted aloud.
"Stand down, all of you!" Nino insisted, "We'd like to make this less difficult..." he pointed out with narrowed eyes.
"Speak for yourself, Nino!" Swordkil yelled while swiping at Rebecca, who evaded each time, "I'm sure the boss is sick of these brats running around like they own the place!" he grumbled aloud, letting out a frustrated grunt as his opponent avoided his swipes once more. He then took notice of Labilia standing off to the side, still recording the ordeal on her cube-shaped device. With a smirk, he lunged toward her.
"Ah!" she gasped in fright. Grimacing, Rebecca ran in and tackled the content creator aside, all while taking a slash to her arm in the process.
"REBECCA!" Izuku screamed, gnashing his teeth together angrily as he lunged out to try and help her, only for Nino to grab him with one of his energy arms and slam him against the floor.
"I'm sorry, but you've left us no choice!" he pointed out, turning his attention onto Melissa as he was about to grab her. Meanwhile, his partner snickered evilly as he trudged up to Rebecca and Labilia, dragging his bladed arms along the floor. The former of the two girls saw that the situation they were in wasn't ideal. She made her markings glow brightly. She opened her eyes, finding herself stopped at the 189th floor.
"Rebecca, what's wrong?" Melissa asked as she and the others stopped while on the steps.
"There're two villains on the way," the Leaper Quirk user quickly whispered in response, kicking off her high-heeled sandals, "One of them can turn his hands into blades, and the other has an Ether-Type that makes energy arms," she explained.
"W-Wait, how do you know that?" Melissa stammered in question.
"Rebecca, are you trying to trick us?" Labilia wondered aloud, gasping in shock.
"No she's not," Izuku affirmed, getting their attentions as they blinked in surprise, "Rebecca, do you have an idea?" he asked of the Leaper Quirk user. She gave off a grin.
"Yeah," she responded with a nod.
"Tsk, dammit..." Swordkil muttered out as he and Nino jogged down the stairwell, "These damn brats just don't give up..." he grumbled.
"Let's just focus on keeping them away from the control center," his partner advised.
"Hmph," he scoffed, "I'm just gonna do my thing and kill them..." he decided. Nino gave him an annoyed glare, followed by gasping as he saw Rebecca speed up the steps to them.
"Swordkil!" he yelled, only for his partner to notice the Leaper Quirk user too late as she sped behind him. She kicked him in the back, sending him tumbling down the steps. He rolled to a stop by the wall, standing up sharply as he growled through his gnashed teeth.
"You little bi-!" He stopped his shout upon seeing Rebecca jump out at him, rearing her right leg back.
"Take this!" she yelled, kicking him squarely in the face and knocking him back against the wall. He fell to the ground, groaning lowly as he lost consciousness. "Alright, I did it!" the Leaper Quirk user exclaimed with delight... only to suddenly get grabbed from behind by one of the orange energy arms projected by Nino.
"I see now why Wolfram wants you dealt with!" he noted aloud, causing her to grimace.
"Rebecca!" Izuku cried out, getting their attentions as they saw him speedily jump up to the floor and lunge toward the bearded villain. However, he caught him in one of his energy arms, holding him by his chest.
"Izuku!" Rebecca screamed, trying to wriggle herself free of the villain's grasp.
"It's good that there's only four of you still heading up," he pointed out, "My Soul Arm is the perfect tool to deal with you," he mentioned with narrowed eyes, "Now where are your friends?" he wondered, about to round the corner. All of a sudden, a long strand of blue hair flew out, wrapping around his wrists and binding them together. "Ah!" he yelped. At that very moment, his energy arms disappeared, allowing for Izuku and Rebecca to drop onto the floor. "What... is this?!" Nino asked, gritting his teeth as he tried to break the hair off of his wrists. Unfortunately, he was too late to do anything as the One For All inheritor lunged out and struck him squarely in the face with the Full Gauntlet over his fist, sending him crashing into the wall and knocking him out.
"It worked!" Melissa exclaimed as she ventured up the steps alongside Labilia, who looked completely exhausted.
"Yeah, nice going, Labilia," Izuku complimented with a grin.
"Sure, thanks..." the content creator muttered as her dirtied strand of hair returned to her ponytail, "None of you could do what I did?" she questioned, sounding annoyed that she had to help at all.
"Sorry..." Rebecca apologized, causing her to puff out her cheeks in frustration, "But thanks for saving us," she mentioned with gratitude. Hearing that, Labilia blushed a little out of flattery.
"D-Don't mention it..." she stammered in response, causing the Leaper Quirk user to giggle.
"Let's keep moving," Melissa insisted, taking on a serious expression.
"Yeah," Izuku agreed, determined to see the mission through to the end.
After taking down two more villains at the top floor, the group hurried toward the control center. However, they overhead a pair of familiar voices coming from what appeared to be a storage vault. Melissa immediately recognized her father's voice and wandered inside with the others, only to learn a shocking truth.
David and Samuel had staged the takeover in order to access the vault, thus allowing them to take back an invention of the former's creation. It was said to be used to amplify someone's Quirk. And the reason that they needed it was because of All Might.
David mentioned how the number one hero was growing weaker by the day, becoming a shell of his former self as his Quirk was fading. Realizing that he was referring to how All Might's power being transferred was causing this, Izuku felt an extreme weight of guilt on his shoulders. Rebecca could tell how distraught he seemed.
"This doesn't make any sense, Papa..." Melissa pointed out, "Deku and the others risked their lives against those villains just so we could save the island!" she emphatically noted.
"No... that's not true..." her father argued, "The villains are supposed to fake... aren't they?" he questioned over to his assistant, who tensed up.
"Of course it was a performance," a voice chimed in, getting their attentions as they looked over to see Wolfram enter the room alongside a couple of his minions, "But the real act was us pretending we were villains," he pointed out.
"You're the boss!" Izuku realized, activating his Full Cowling as he was ready to attack. However, Wolfram touched a metal railing beside him, causing it to fly out and restrain the One For All inheritor, pinning him to the wall.
"Oh my god, Deku!" Melissa screamed as she ran over to help him.
"Labilia, run!" Rebecca yelled, activating her Quirk and dashing around to try and confuse the boss villain.
"An Ether-Type, hm?" he noted. He pressed his right hand against the wall beside him, making an iron pillar shoot out. The Leaper Quirk user ran out of the way of it, but wound up ensnared by another set of the metal railing, binding her arms behind her back as she fell onto the floor.
"Rebecca!" Labilia cried out.
"Don't move," Wolfram ordered, pointing his gun at her, "Sam, the case," he requested.
"Yes, of course!" the assistant responded, running down with the amplification device in hand.
"Sam?!" David yelped out. As it turned out, his assistant was in cahoots with the villains, wanting to get a sizeable payment in return for handing the device over to the villains. And so in return... Wolfram shot him.
"Wh-What...?" he stammered out weakly as he lied upon the ground, "This... wasn't part of the plan!" he noted aloud.
"Oh really?" the boss villain wondered, aiming his handgun at him again, "Because it was always a part of mine," he said. He fired again, only this time Samuel was shielded by none other than David, who fell to the ground and started bleeding out.
"Papa...!" Melissa gasped out, while everyone else's eyes widened in shock. Wolfram mocked the professor for trying to be a hero in the final moments, noting that he was essentially a criminal for what he had done, no matter how noble his intentions were. Melissa tried to get to him, but the boss villain knocked her away. Izuku and Rebecca desperately tried to free themselves, while Labilia was left frozen in fear. It didn't look they'd be able to stop Wolfram from attempting to shoot Melissa. But all of a sudden...
"Magimech Attack..." a familiar voice bellowed out, getting their attentions, "GRAVITY TACKLE!" Shiki roared as he shot into the vault, slamming into Wolfram and sending him crashing into the wall in a flurry of dust.
"Shiki!" Rebecca exclaimed in relief. The Satan Gravity Quirk user stood up and aimed his hands towards his entrapped classmates. He gravitationally pulled their bindings off, allowing them to fall to the floor.
"You guys okay?" he immediately asked, hurrying over to help Melissa onto her feet.
"Sorta..." Rebecca replied, "We need to stop that villain before he gets away with the case!" she advised of her classmates.
"That's not the only thing you'll need to worry about!" Wolfram's voice yelled from the dust cloud, getting their attentions as they gasped in surprise. Several metal pillars shot out at the group. Shiki immediately grabbed Melissa and jumped to safety, while Izuku and Rebecca hurriedly evaded the ones sent toward them. One snatched David by the back of his suit jacket, while another reclaimed the case.
"No!" Izuku cried out, attempting to punch apart the pillars with a full-powered punch. Instead, a sturdy wall erupted to block him off.
"Magimech Attack: Gravity Fist!" Shiki exclaimed as he tried to punch the pillars himself, only for a wall to block his strike as well.
"Shoot!" Rebecca yelped out, trying to hurry over to the professor. However, a metal pillar was about to strike her. Fortunately, Izuku jumped in to take the attack, being pinned against the wall. "Izuku!" his best friend cried out.
"Rebecca, get to the control system with the others!" he instructed quickly, "I'll stop these guys!" he promised, only to be pressed against the wall by more metal pillars.
"Don't make threats you can't live up to, kid!" Wolfram yelled as a retort. Understanding the situation and honoring her best friend's wish, the Leaper Quirk user sped toward the doorway. She spotted the frozen Labilia, quickly grabbing her by her arm and dragging her off in a yelp.
"Shiki, hurry with Melissa!" she called out.
"Got it!" the Satan Gravity Quirk user responded, grabbing Melissa and flying off out of the vault with her. She looked back at Izuku holding his ground, hoping that he'd prevail and save the day.
A lot of action here, and there'll be a lot more in the penultimate chapter for this arc! I hope you all enjoyed this! Thanks for reading!
