Welcome back to another chapter of "Through the Rough"! Today, we're tackling another big part of the story: people finding out about Izuku and Rebecca's new relationship! Okay, maybe it isn't that big, but still.

With a few of their classmates already in the know, these two now have to deal with their respective guardians learning about them dating. So how will that conversation turn out?

Well, I guess it's about time we find out!

THROUGH THE ROUGH

Izuku didn't think that a hero would ever scare him in his lifetime. But seeing Witch sitting across from him and Rebecca at the kitchen table, gently scratching Happy in her arms as if she were some of sort of villainous mastermind, all while wearing that smile on her face… It wasn't hard to understand how unsettled he was.

"Witch, it's my fault that you didn't know me and Izuku were going out!" Rebecca argued, holding her hands up to her guardian, "I should've let you know as soon as I could've…" she admitted ashamedly, lowering her head.

"Absolutely," the Sorcery Quirk user agreed, causing her to flinch, "That said, I can understand being a little embarrassed about telling me…" she noted.

'A little…?' Rebecca muttered inwardly as she blushed.

"I'm just as surprised that you two didn't want to tell us…" Inko chimed in, sitting next to the Shining Star Hero, "Izuku, both Witch and I know just how much you care about each other…" she pointed out, "There's no reason for you to hide anything…" she mentioned as her son turned his head away.

"I guess… we just didn't wanna make a big deal out of it…" he confessed.

"Yeah," his girlfriend agreed with a nod, "Again, we're really sorry…" she apologized.

"Huh…" Witch sighed, "Honestly, I suspected this would happen," she admitted as she stood up and walked over to the kitchen, setting Happy down onto the floor as he yawned, trotting away.

"Huh?" Rebecca uttered in confusion as she blinked twice.

"You and Izuku are childhood friends that always looked out for each other up to now," her guardian pointed out, readying a few pans on the stove, "It seemed pretty obvious as to where that was leading," she mentioned, causing the two teenagers to blush. The Sorcery Quirk user giggled.

"We'd just like for you two to be upfront and honest with us about this new relationship," Inko insisted, "You can always come to us in case there's something you wanna know or need help with," she added assuredly.

"…Thanks, Mom," Izuku said in gratitude, giving off a little smile.

"Of course, we're going to have to have a talk at some point…" Witch mentioned. The two teenagers widened their eyes.

"Oh, definitely," Inko agreed, much to the couple's shock, "Knowing how young and impressionable certain kids are, it's only natural for us to have that uncomfortable conversation," she noted. Both her son and Rebecca blushed madly in embarrassment. It was a long evening from there on out…

OPENING

Insert "ODD FUTURE" by UVERworld

Opens with Izuku and Rebecca getting into lunging stances before taking off into the distance as a bright blue sky looms overhead. We see a scene of Nana Shimura holding out her gloved hand to a skinny All Might, who accepts it as a light shines between their palms. A bright light flashes across the screen.

We cut to the rest of Class 1-A running together at the campground in their P.E. clothes, with Shiki leading the way as he leaps ahead. Ochaco and Momo are staring at him from behind somewhat longingly. But once they notice each other staring at him, they blush and look away.

Elsewhere around the camp, we see Homura using her energy blades to slash down mounds of earth formed by Pixie Bob, Shoto practicing with shooting his flames from his left arm, followed by unleashing a wave of ice from his right foot, Weisz remodeling multiple machines to practice more with his Quirk, and Katsuki unleashing large explosions up into the sky. As Izuku takes a moment to catch his breath, he looks over to see Rebecca running alongside Tenya. She spots her boyfriend and shoots him a warm smile, which he returns as he blushes.

However, that happiness is shattered as the forest is engulfed in blue flames that evening, courtesy of Dabi. He's joined by Himiko, Twice, Compress, Mustard, Muscular, Moonfish, Laguna, Fie, Daichi, Maria, and Shura. The latter of the group floats up and has Ether Gear markings expand along his right arm as he aims it down at the ground, which suddenly caves in. He grins wickedly as he dives toward Shiki, who retaliates with a Gravity Fist.

We see Laguna turning to face off with Weisz, who equips into his Arsenal armor before dashing out at him. Meanwhile, Daichi emerges from the ground, joining Maria in confronting Rebecca and Kyoka, who stand back-to-back and grimace. Izuku is in battle against Muscular, lunging forward and rearing his right fist back for a full-powered punch.

The scene changes to Drakken Joe atop a roof as the wind rushes around him. He's approached by Jaguar, who stares at him indignantly. A leaf blows by, revealing a flashback of the two confronting on the same rooftop. Drakken doesn't look like he's aged a day since then.

We cut to Tomura being approached by All For One, who rests his hand onto his head gently. Several Nomu emerge behind him, ready to act on command. We get a shot of Poseidon Nero, who opens his eyes as his dice rattle in his hands. We also see Noah Glenfield, who closes a book as he approaches the desk of Nezu at U.A.

All Might arrives, landing down mightily to confront All For One, roaring as his eyes glare onto his foe. There are several shots of Mirko, Endeavor, Justice, Holy, Eraser, Feather, Cure, Jaguar, Edgeshot, Kamui Woods, Gang Orca, and Eraser Head, with all of them battling against enemy forces.

We end on Izuku and Rebecca standing up alongside All Might, staring out determinedly towards the horizon, ready to go and save the world.

END OPENING

"Did you get any sleep last night…?" Rebecca asked of Izuku the next day.

"Barely a wink…" he grumbled in reply.

"Same…" his girlfriend admitted. The two of them were out at Dagobah Beach, deciding to spend their time exercising to take their minds off of the uncomfortable conversation that their guardians subjected them to. They were currently stretching their arms and legs, getting ready to go out on one last run.

"Huh…" Izuku exhaled as he wiped the sweat off of his brow, "It's a beautiful day out…" he commented, looking out to the ocean.

"Yeah," Rebecca agreed, feeling the cooling sea breeze wash over her as her hair waved in the wind, "Maybe we can go swimming later!" she suggested before taking off. Her boyfriend's eyes jolted open. He slowly turned his head, seeing her head off. He was having trouble registering what she said. But when he finally did, he inwardly panicked.

'S-S-S-S-S-SWIMMING?!' he stammered through his thoughts, 'Wait, but…' he continued to himself, 'that would mean…' he started to realize, blushing a bright red. He shook his head, hurrying after his girlfriend. Part of him was not looking forward to whatever he would see Rebecca wearing in terms of a swimsuit, knowing that he'd probably be reduced to a blushing mess. But… he was a little curious...

The couple ran along the beachfront, coming to a stop at a nearby water fountain. Izuku was the first to get himself a drink as Rebecca undid her ponytail, letting her ash blonde hair fall freely. She looked back at her boyfriend, smiling as she heard him breathe in relief.

"You been catching up on One Piece?" she asked of him, getting his attention.

"A little, yeah…" he answered, "Seems like that arc's going on forever, though…" he admitted as he scratched at his right cheek.

"It is getting crazy…" Rebecca admitted, "Still, I love it," she affirmed with a giggle. Her boyfriend smiled at her. "Well, time to take a dip!" she decided, reaching her hands down to grab the hem of her tank top. Izuku widened his eyes and blushed, seeing the white-colored bikini top his girlfriend was wearing as she pulled off her tank top, setting it onto the sand. She then removed her sweatpants, revealing the teal bottom half of her bikini.

"A-Ah…" the One For All inheritor stammered, trembling in place.

"Phoo!" the Leaper Quirk user exhaled, removing her sandals, "Already feels nice to get that off!" she admitted, setting her articles of clothing aside in a pile, "You gonna jump in with me, Izuku?" she offered of her boyfriend, getting his attention as he perked up.

"Uh… I… um…!" he stammered out, unable to find the words as he tried not to stare at his bikini-clad girlfriend.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Well… I, uh…" Izuku tried to reply, shutting his eyes and shaking. For a moment, Rebecca was confused. But then it hit her. This was essentially the first time Izuku had ever seen her in a swimsuit. Her blush was as red as his.

"S-Sorry!" she stuttered, turning away, "I… should've given you a warning!" she admitted sheepishly.

"I-I-It's okay!" her boyfriend stammered in reply, turning around himself to avoid catching a glance at her posterior by accident, "Um… I just didn't bring a swimsuit myself…" he confessed.

"Oh…" the Leaper Quirk user uttered in realization, "Well, uh…" she tried to say, only to blink in realization, "I just remembered!" she exclaimed, causing Izuku to perk up as she turned to him, "The girls invited me out to the school pool before the summer camp tomorrow!" she pointed out, "You're welcome to come with!" she affirmed on.

"Are you sure?" the One For All inheritor asked, "It sounds like you and the girls would wanna just relax without me being there…" he noted.

"It's totally fine, really!" she assured to him as she approached, "Plus, I'll be wearing something that isn't so… revealing…" she mentioned with a blush across her cheeks.

"N-No!" Izuku stammered, turning around, "I mean, there's nothing wrong with you—!" And he only realized his mistake the moment he glanced down at her chest by accident. He sharply turned away again, shutting his eyes as his entire face reddened. This time though, Rebecca giggled.

"You know, compared to things like the skintight costume I have and what I wear regularly, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you're reacting to me like this…" she concluded thoroughly, scratching at her right cheek, "Again, I'm really sorry…" she apologized. Her boyfriend opened his eyes, looking down in thought.

"It's just that…" he started to say, "I think you look really beautiful…" he confessed, causing her eyes to shimmer in shock. That felt completely different. It wasn't like the other times he complimented her for anything, even back on I-Island. Now that she and Izuku were officially a couple… hearing that meant a lot to her.

"Thanks, Izuku…" she said with gratitude. He glanced back to her and smiled warmly. They were still figuring things out. But with time, there'd be a strong foundation for their relationship. For now, they'd just roll with the punches.

ENDING

Opens with all of Class 1-A standing in front of U.A. together. Izuku and Rebecca stand at the front, with the former balling his left hand into a fist as he looks to the sky. His girlfriend glances over and smiles, happy to see him determined.

We go through a few scenes of Homura shaking as she struggles to withstand the heat of the hot spring, while her fellow female classmates are just fine. Weisz and Minoru attempt to peep on them, only to get struck by wash tops flung at them by Rebecca. They crash down on the other side of the while, with the rest of the boys there shaking their heads.

We see Izuku and Rebecca sleeping against each other on the subway ride back home. Ochaco smiles at them from nearby, but then notices Shiki sleeping on her shoulder and drooling. She screams in surprise, waking him up while also startling everyone in the train car. She blushes in embarrassment, burying her reddening face into her hands.

The scene changes to Homura joining Shoto on an excursion along the beach, where they're joined by their friends. Shoto finds a seashell and offers it to Homura, who accepts with a smile. Mina looks at them excitedly, while Kyoka rolls her eyes and sighs behind her.

We then shift to the class training, with Katsuki racing against Tenya and Weisz with his explosions. Shiki passes them all by to their shock, making him the winner. In the meantime, Rebecca practices kicking with Tsuyu, sharing a smile with her as they work together.

Everyone is doing their best around school, whether in the classroom or in the field. Izuku shares a moment with All Might on the beach before they shake hands firmly. We close out on a scene of some of the class standing on a tower together. Izuku smiles brightly, and Rebecca plants a kiss onto his left cheek under his freckles. She giggles as he blushes, happy to be with him and their friends.

END ENDING

Bit of a shorter chapter this time around, mainly to just confirm that there'll be a pool episode like the one that kicked off Season 3 as a filler. But also, it'll be the lead-in for what I hope will be a nice finale to this mini-arc for Izuku and Rebecca.
