Hey all! We've reached the 90-chapter mark! I want to thank you all for continuing to support this story as it delves into some really big things in the next arc. Aside from the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc, there's going to be one other mini-arc before we set things up for the Season 4 adaptation. Like I said, you can expect a preview at the end of this chapter to show what'll happen.
This chapter's going to start out with an interesting tidbit that I think a lot of you might be surprised by. It's something I wanted to bring up in the last chapter, but figured it'd be better to show here. You'll see what I'm talking about soon.
With all that said, let's dive right into this chapter! Welcome back to "Through the Rough"!
THROUGH THE ROUGH
It was a long few days for Rebecca. In the wake of all that had happened, Witch had essentially become her full-time guardian. The Leaper Quirk user wasn't allowed to leave her apartment alone, and she wasn't allowed to meet up with anyone, including her boyfriend. She was just left counting the days until they'd get to physically see each other again. But until then, texting would have to do.
Becca: did ur mom give you the green light?
Izu: She said she was fine with it
But she didn't look all that happy
Becca: shes prolly just worried, u kno?
witch had a long talk with aizawa bout the dorms
still worried about me after everything
i cant blame her…
Izu: Well, I'm glad you're all set at least
Rebecca glanced away for a second. There were still some things she felt that she needed to tell her boyfriend, especially in regards to what had happened in Camino, along with the aftermath. But she felt that it wasn't the right time.
Becca: i need to pack up soon
see u tmrw?
Izu: Yeah, for sure!
Becca: :D
Setting her phone aside, the Leaper Quirk user lied back down in her bed and sighed. There was still a lot for her to really think about. Her conversation with Noah the other day was one of those many things…
FLASHBACK
"I'm sorry… what do you mean by what tip the scales back in my favor?" Rebecca asked of the Safety Commission member as they walked down the hall together.
"You see, I'm actually an undercover hero working out of the IUA," he responded to her surprise, "They've been keeping tabs on the Hero Public Safety Commission's actions and their dealings over the past years, especially in regards to the Oracion Seis," he explained on. The two of them then entered an interrogation room, with Noah shutting the door behind them. "Another thing I should inform you of is my Quirk," he mentioned as his eyes shined gold yet again. Looking at them more closely, the student hero could see the lines that were similar to the ones she had seen from other Ether-type Quirk users.
"What is that?" she inquired.
"Eye of God, my Quirk," Noah responded as he took his seat on one side of the table, enticing Rebecca to sit down on the chair at the other side, "It's an ability that allows me to observe people's locations around the world," he told her.
"So… like an expanded version of Ragdoll's Quirk?" she assumed, arching an eyebrow. The undercover agent chuckled.
"Something along those lines," he replied, "Unlike her, I can't pinpoint weaknesses," he noted, "However…" he continued, "this Quirk has allowed me to observe instances outside of time itself," he explained. Rebecca blinked twice.
"I'm sorry… what?" she uttered apologetically, completely confused.
"Allow me to clarify," Noah requested, "Your Quirk, Leaper, is referred to as a Chronophage Abnormality Type, correct?" he inquired, raising an eyebrow. The ash blonde-haired girl's eyes widened.
"Wait, how did you—?!"
"Like I said, Eye of God sees everything," the undercover agent noted, interjecting Rebecca's question. She trembled a little.
"So… what's the deal with me?" she asked.
"While in Drakken's clutches, I believe you instinctively altered time without your knowledge, thus creating a new timeline in which results were changed," Noah explained, "Do you remember what event caused this alteration to occur?" he questioned curiously, narrowing his eyes.
"D…Do you know?" the Leaper Quirk user stuttered out.
"I do know that the alteration didn't occur immediately after what had happened," the undercover agent mentioned as a reply, "Are you sure you can't remember?" he asked, "Or… do you not want to?" he assumed. Rebecca felt her skin crawl. Her memories were being foggy, almost like they were from a dream.
She remembered being rescued by Izuku and Shiki, having fallen toward the ground as a result of slipping off of Katsuki. She remembered seeing Drakken assume his monstrous form in order to confront her and the other escaping teenagers. And then…
"I…" she uttered out as tears welled up in her eyes, streaking down her cheeks, "I saw Izu… my boyfriend…" she whimpered out, "I saw him die…!" she sobbed. Noah closed his eyes, reaching over to place a gloved hand onto her shoulder.
"What you did likely saved his life," he affirmed, causing her to perk up slightly as she sniffled, "Giving him a second chance will likely help save many more people," he added assuredly, "Now, I think we've spent enough time talking," he admitted, standing up from his seat to the Leaper Quirk user's surprise, "I'm sure Witch is already here to pick you up," he mentioned with a smile. Rebecca wiped her eyes, sniffling one last time before getting onto her feet.
"Right…" she replied, "Thank you, Mister Noah…" she said with gratitude.
END FLASHBACK
'A second chance…' the Leaper Quirk user uttered inwardly, recalling what the undercover I.U.A. agent had told her. She balled her fists and sat up on her bed. Whether or not she was improving, one thing was for certain. She knew the kind of hero that she wanted to be.
OPENING
Insert "ODD FUTURE" by UVERworld
Opens with Izuku and Rebecca getting into lunging stances before taking off into the distance as a bright blue sky looms overhead. We see a scene of Nana Shimura holding out her gloved hand to a skinny All Might, who accepts it as a light shines between their palms. A bright light flashes across the screen.
We cut to the rest of Class 1-A running together at the campground in their P.E. clothes, with Shiki leading the way as he leaps ahead. Ochaco and Momo are staring at him from behind somewhat longingly. But once they notice each other staring at him, they blush and look away.
Elsewhere around the camp, we see Homura using her energy blades to slash down mounds of earth formed by Pixie Bob, Shoto practicing with shooting his flames from his left arm, followed by unleashing a wave of ice from his right foot, Weisz remodeling multiple machines to practice more with his Quirk, and Katsuki unleashing large explosions up into the sky. As Izuku takes a moment to catch his breath, he looks over to see Rebecca running alongside Tenya. She spots her boyfriend and shoots him a warm smile, which he returns as he blushes.
However, that happiness is shattered as the forest is engulfed in blue flames that evening, courtesy of Dabi. He's joined by Himiko, Twice, Compress, Mustard, Muscular, Moonfish, Laguna, Fie, Daichi, Maria, and Shura. The latter of the group floats up and has Ether Gear markings expand along his right arm as he aims it down at the ground, which suddenly caves in. He grins wickedly as he dives toward Shiki, who retaliates with a Gravity Fist.
We see Laguna turning to face off with Weisz, who equips into his Arsenal armor before dashing out at him. Meanwhile, Daichi emerges from the ground, joining Maria in confronting Rebecca and Kyoka, who stand back-to-back and grimace. Izuku is in battle against Muscular, lunging forward and rearing his right fist back for a full-powered punch.
The scene changes to Drakken Joe atop a roof as the wind rushes around him. He's approached by Jaguar, who stares at him indignantly. A leaf blows by, revealing a flashback of the two confronting on the same rooftop. Drakken doesn't look like he's aged a day since then.
We cut to Tomura being approached by All For One, who rests his hand onto his head gently. Several Nomu emerge behind him, ready to act on command. We get a shot of Poseidon Nero, who opens his eyes as his dice rattle in his hands. We also see Noah Glenfield, who closes a book as he approaches the desk of Nezu at U.A.
All Might arrives, landing down mightily to confront All For One, roaring as his eyes glare onto his foe. There are several shots of Mirko, Endeavor, Justice, Holy, Eraser, Feather, Cure, Jaguar, Edgeshot, Kamui Woods, Gang Orca, and Eraser Head, with all of them battling against enemy forces.
We end on Izuku and Rebecca standing up alongside All Might, staring out determinedly towards the horizon, ready to go and save the world.
END OPENING
"Izu!" Rebecca exclaimed, lunging over to hug her boyfriend happily on the brick walkway leading to U.A. The couple was finally back together after what felt like a long week. All 24 of Class A's students were on campus, having gotten approval from their parents to move into the dormitories that were being set up.
"I still can't believe they built all this in a week…" Weisz admitted, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
"It definitely looks like a lot of work for just one building, let alone so many…" Mezo chimed in.
"That's UA for you," Shoto remarked, earning a giggle out of Homura beside him.
"So, what are we waiting for?" Minoru inquired of his class, getting their attentions, "Let's move on in!" he declared, turning to march up to the building.
"Not so fast," a familiar voice chimed in, causing the class to turn and see Shota there alongside Witch, "We need to have a talk," he pointed out seriously.
"Mister Aizawa…" Tenya uttered out.
"First of all…" their teacher began as the wind breezed by, "Midoriya, Kirishima, Todoroki, Kogetsu, Granbell, Yaoyorozu, Iida, and Jiro," he listed off, causing the group to tense up in surprise, "The eight of you were in Camino the night of Bakugo and Bluegarden's rescue, weren't you?" he assumed. Everyone widened their eyes.
"Wait… what?" Denki uttered out of disbelief.
"Did they… go through with that plan of theirs…?" Toru inquired quietly.
"Based on everyone's immediate reaction, we can assume that most of you were aware of what this group in particular was planning," Witch mentioned, chiming into the conversation. She then went ahead and removed her helmet, revealing her green eyes. Rebecca lowered her head ashamedly. She remembered having to tell Witch about everything that had happened. And she knew there would be consequences for those who went against the rules.
"We're going to set aside a number of issues and just say this," Shota continued, nodding to the Sorcery Quirk user beside him.
"Had it not been for All Might's retirement, we would've expelled everyone here expect for Sir Katsuki, Sir Mezo, Sir Weisz, and Lady Rebecca," she explained to the group, much to their collective shock, "The eight of you that deliberately went against instructions by your peers is bad enough," she pointed out seriously.
"But to the other twelve who did nothing to try and stop them, knowing that they could go through with the plan, are culpable as well," the Erasure Hero mentioned. Izuku remembered just how split the class had seemingly been back in the hospital about involving themselves. Ultimately, it worked out in their favor, but they had to disobey their own teachers in the process. It wasn't a good look. Everyone seemed just as defeated.
"We'll have one-on-one discussions with each of you on this matter at a later date," Witch affirmed, "For now, go ahead and take a tour of your new lodgings!" she insisted, gesturing to the front doors of the Heights Alliance building. However, no one seemed even remotely interested, completely deflated from the news they had just learned.
"Guys, I…" Rebecca tried to say, tensing up a little, "I'm so—"
"Don't do that, Rebecca," Kyoka insisted, interjecting her friend as she placed a hand onto her shoulder, "I think it was pretty obvious that the teachers were gonna find out we went against the rules," she admitted, "It sucks, but that's what we've gotta deal with…" she pointed out.
"Yeah," Izuku agreed, "You don't need to apologize," he affirmed to his girlfriend. Needless to say, their words didn't really help. But by some miracle, Katsuki managed to cheer the class up, having made Denki short circuit to turn him into a babbling idiot, waving his thumbs around stupidly. He also paid Eijiro back for his night vision goggles, at least a portion of it. Everyone was still a bit defeated from earlier. But they were slowly managing to pick themselves up. Witch watched on and smiled, while Shota just huffed. As long the class could bring themselves together, anything was possible.
X
"And… there!" Rebecca exclaimed, having finished setting up her dorm room as she placed her Switch in its dock. It was a mishmash of cat-themed knickknacks, along with her video game paraphernalia and posters of heroes like Mandalay and Pixie-Bob. As she looked around to make sure nothing was out of place, she heard a knock at the door. She went over and opened it up to see both Toru and Kyoka there.
"Hey roomie!" the invisible girl greeted before excitedly hugging the Leaper Quirk user, giggling with her.
"We're gonna check-in with the others downstairs before we hit the hay for tonight," the Earphone Jack Quirk user noted as she stepped forward, "See if anyone needs help getting their rooms in order still," she mentioned.
"Looks like you're all set!" Toru pointed out, looking into Rebecca's room, "This room definitely seems like you!" she complimented. The ash blonde-haired girl giggled again, following her friends to the elevator.
"Hey, Kyoka?" she said, getting the attention of the Earphone Jack Quirk user, "Thanks for coming to save me," she told her gratefully, causing her to blink in surprise before she smiled.
"Ah, it was nothing," she proclaimed, "I just… felt like I owed you after what happened back in the woods," she admitted with a small smile.
"Just like during the entrance exam, huh?" Rebecca guessed, sharing a giggle with her friend. A little while later, the whole class was gathered in the common area, save for Katsuki and Tsuyu.
"How's your injury, Steiner?" Eijiro asked of the Machina Maker Quirk user, who was lying back on the couch.
"Fine now, thanks," he replied, "Honestly, I didn't even know it was coming until too late…" he admitted with narrowed eyes of shame, "I still can't believe you guys went out to Camino after everything…" he mentioned.
"Hey, dude…" Denki said in a whisper, seeing Rebecca approach alongside Kyoka and Toru.
"It's fine, guys," the Leaper Quirk user assured, "Our teachers are gonna talk with us more about what happened," she pointed out, "Well… in terms of you guys, anyway…" she corrected, sheepishly scratching at her right cheek.
"So everyone's all moved in?" Izuku assumed of his classmates.
"Yep!" Mina answered as she hopped up from her seat onto her feet, "And now, we can start the big event since pretty much everyone, minus Bakugo and Tsu, are here!" she declared excitedly.
"Uh, what event?" Rebecca inquired, arching an eyebrow.
"Let's go see who's got the coolest room!" Ochaco insisted. Most of the boys paled in surprise and shock. And the first room for the class to go and visit was none other than…
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Izuku screamed, "NO PLEASE, YOU SHOULDN'T GO IN THERE! SERIOUSLY, PLEASE DON'T!" he loudly begged to no avail as his door was pulled open. Inside was all kinds of All Might merchandise and paraphernalia.
"Dude," Weisz said, looking rather annoyed, "For a guy who has a girlfriend, you really need to style up your room more…" he pointed out seriously.
"I think it's cute!" Rebecca exclaimed, defending her embarrassed and ashamed boyfriend as his head hung low, "Izu, you don't need to change a thing," she assured, rubbing his shoulders comfortingly. The next rooms to be visited were Fumikage's and Yuga's, which were complete contrasts of each other in terms of dark against light.
"This is turning out to be pretty fun!" Ochaco admitted as she skipped along.
"Indeed," Homura agreed, "It is nice to learn more about everyone based on the styles of their rooms," she noted.
"There's still one more for the boys on this floor, right?" Toru inquired, "Why don't we check it ou—?" She immediately stopped herself upon noticing the figure who was peeking out from the last second floor room. It was Minoru.
"Come on in, girls…" he beckoned as he crooked his right pointer finger, drooling excitedly, "I've got so much to show you…" he pointed out. Everyone turned around.
"So, third floor?" Ochaco assumed.
"Yep," Rebecca replied.
"Hey… come back…" Minoru pleaded in a ghostly voice. On the third floor, the rooms of Mashirao, Tenya, Denki, and Koji were all judged. The Tail Quirk user's was considered far too plain, much to his dismay. Meanwhile, the Electrification Quirk user's room was far too jam-packed with useless junk.
The class representative was very studious from how his room looked, with books and extra pairs of glasses galore. Some of the girls even took the opportunity to try some of his spectacles for themselves. Rebecca turned to her boyfriend with her pair on, making him blush at the sight of her.
"Girls with glasses always win a guy over…" Minoru affirmed as he nodded his head.
"Really, is that so?" Shoto inquired, raising an eyebrow. At that moment, Homura had curiously gone ahead and grabbed a pair of glasses to try herself.
"Shoto?" she said, getting the Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user's attention as he turned and blinked in surprise to see her wearing the spectacles, "Do these look nice?" she asked. Tensing up a little, he turned his head away.
"Yeah, they look great…" he responded with a sheepish blush. The Soul Blade Quirk user tilted her head to the side in confusion. After the class visited Koji's room, they were ready to venture up to the next floor. That was, until…
"Hold on just a sec!" Minoru exclaimed as he zipped out in front of his classmates.
"Mineta, we're not going back to your room," Rebecca refused, putting her hands onto her hips.
"No, no," the Pop Off Quirk user responded, "I'm just noticing how unfair it seems that we're only checking out the guys' rooms…" he told his classmates, "Shouldn't the same courtesy be given to the girls?" he inferred.
"That… is a good point…" Mina reluctantly admitted.
"Hell no!" Kyoka whispered out, "I am not letting that little pervert run rampant in my room!" she quietly declared.
"Now hold on…" Rebecca chimed in, holding out her hands between the girls, "I think there's a simple way for us to resolve this," she affirmed confidently, "Okay Minoru…" she began, "we'll add our rooms to the competition," she decided.
"Hey!" Kyoka yelped, while the Pop Off Quirk user beamed with delight.
"But…" Rebecca continued as she held up her right pointer finger, "only under one condition," she said.
"Oh, I'm okay with anything!" Minoru affirmed blissfully. However, that condition turned out to be having his eyes blinded thanks to Hanta's tape. "This is bullshit!" he cursed, "How am I supposed to properly judge your rooms when you've hindered my most prized sense?!" he questioned emphatically.
"That's the neat part!" Toru chimed in, "You don't," she said.
"Ha!" Denki laughed, "I got that reference!" he chuckled out.
"Well, I guess we're doing this…" Kyoka grumbled, feeling a little better about sharing her dorm now that Minoru was temporarily blinded. Her room was essentially a musician's dream with all sorts of instruments. Rebecca curiously looked at the drum set, while Homura was staring at an electric guitar.
After visiting Toru's girly-designed room, Rebecca's was next. As the class entered, they were surprised by the knickknacks and paraphernalia inside. Mashirao took notice of her Switch.
"You're a gamer, Bluegarden?" he asked curiously.
"Mmm… sort of…" Rebecca replied, "I usually like playing games for fun like Animal Crossing or Pokémon," she told her classmates, "But I also got some games like Smash, Splatoon, and a couple other fighter games!" she listed off, going through her inventory.
"That looks pretty expensive…" Kyoka pointed out, amazed by how many games the Leaper Quirk user had.
"It's not that bad," she affirmed as she stood up, "Before school, I was a mail girl, so making money wasn't all that hard," she noted, "And whatever extra money I had aside for what was needed for life stuff, I got these!" she mentioned, holding up her games, "If three of you ever wanna come by and play multiplayer, then I'm always free!" she promised to her friends.
"That would be awesome, Rebecca!" Mina exclaimed in response.
"Yeah, totally!" Toru agreed. Meanwhile, Izuku smiled. It was nice to see his girlfriend interacting with their classmates, making the most of their current situation. She wanted everyone to feel happy.
The fourth floor was next, with the class visiting the minimalist room of Mezo's, Eijiro's den of manliness, and finally, Weisz's dorm. He pulled it open, allowing everyone to look inside.
"Well, whaddaya think?" he inquired curiously. The girls all turned to him and glared. There were tons of posters plastered on his walls with scantily-clad girls in bikinis. Even the boys were cringing. However, Izuku did take notice of one poster in particular, being one with a man in a red-and-golden suit of armor.
"Is that an original Iron Man poster?" he asked curiously as he pointed at it.
"Oh, uh, yeah…" the Machina Maker Quirk user replied, sheepishly scratching at his cheek, "I got it back when I was kid…" he mentioned.
"That's the first of that superhero movie series you're seeing, right?" Eijiro asked of Rebecca, getting her attention.
"Yeah…" she responded, putting her hand onto her chin curiously. Seeing that Weisz appeared to have an affection for the superhero movie genre, an idea was starting to form in her head. Meanwhile, Minoru was drooling excitedly at the sight of the other posters.
"Oh yeah, this is a cultured man's abode…" he affirmed.
"Yep," the Machina Maker Quirk user agreed with a chuckle. The girls all shared unamused glances with each other.
"Okay, new rule," Rebecca decided. As the fourth floor female dorms were being judged next, both Minoru and Weisz were made to be blinded by Hanta's tape. Mina and Ochaco's rooms were the only ones there, with both girls showing off more of their personalities and interests with their abodes. That left the fifth floor next.
"I can't wait to show you guys everything I came up with!" Shiki exclaimed excitedly as they approached his door.
"I'm sure it's lovely, Shiki," Momo affirmed with a giggle.
"Yeah, we're ready!" Ochaco added as she pumped her fists. The Satan Gravity Quirk user grinned, pulling his door open. Everyone looked inside and…
"Uh… wow…" Kyoka uttered.
"Not gonna lie, this was about what I expected…" Hanta admitted. Shiki's room was a complete mess. There were comics, notebooks, school supplies, posters and other things randomly strewn about. If Denki's room was a mishmash, this was worse.
"So, whaddaya think?" the Satan Gravity Quirk user asked with a smile.
"Um… well…" Momo tried to say, fidgeting with her fingers.
"It's… a look, I guess…" Ochaco commented nervously.
"I believe it is quite a mess, Shiki," Homura bluntly admitted, much to everyone's surprise as they looked over at her, "Ooh, I didn't mean to say that out loud…!" she whispered, covering her mouth with her hands as she blushed.
"Eh-heh…" Shiki chuckled sheepishly, "Not gonna lie, I had so much stuff to unpack that I just threw everything out all at once…" he admitted to his classmates, "Sorry it's like this…" he apologized.
"N-No, it's alright!" Momo assured with a stutter, "In fact, it gives us a chance to help you organize!" she proclaimed, "Right, everyone?" she inquired of the others, who all blinked in surprise. Moments later, the entire room was spotless, with everything being set neatly.
"Whoa… awesome!" the Satan Gravity Quirk user exclaimed.
"Still not that much different than all those other rooms we've been seeing…" Toru noted.
"At least it's nicer than Kaminari's…" Kyoka commented.
"Hey!" the Electrification Quirk user shouted upon overhearing.
"You're awesome, Momo!" Shiki complimented, embracing her warmly in a hug to everyone's surprise, "Thanks!" he said with gratitude. The Creation Quirk user blushed a bright red, having a crooked smile on her face.
"Y-You're welcome, Shiki…" she stammered in response. Ochaco watched on, though not as jealously as she would've. She merely lowered her gaze with sadness in her eyes.
After going through the rest of the boys' dorms, with Hanta's unique style, Shoto's Japanese-themed room that was entirely remodeled in a single day, and Rikido's rather standard abode. The Sugar Rush Quirk user seemed to win most of the girls over with a chiffon cake that he had been baking, which they all enjoyed.
"Okay, last round!" Rebecca exclaimed, "We've got Tsu, Homura, and Momo left, right?" she assumed.
"Uh, actually…" Ochaco chimed in, getting her attention, "Tsu's not feeling well, so we can just skip her," she pointed out.
"Wait, seriously?" Mina questioned, arching an eyebrow.
"Should we check in on her at least?" Toru inquired worriedly.
"No, she said she didn't want us to worry about it," the Zero Gravity Quirk user replied, holding her hands up in a placating manner, "Come on, we still got a few rooms left to see!" she pointed out excitedly. Curiously, Rebecca glanced back and noticed Tsuyu peeking out from her room. One look at her, and the Leaper Quirk user could tell that she was conflicted and really sad.
"I believe it is my turn now," Homura said as the class approached her abode. The girls made certain that both Minoru and Weisz were properly blinded for the time being. Pulling her door open, the Soul Blade Quirk user revealed her room.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Mina exclaimed in disbelief. Homura's dorm was almost exactly like Shoto's in terms of the theming and how it was built differently compared to other rooms. She had a small shrine in the corner with a picture of Valkyrie, a bed mat with checkered red and black colors, and a couple of dressers.
"This looks nice," the Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user complimented.
"Thank you, Shoto," Homura responded gratefully.
'Okay, those two are just made for each other at this point…' Kyoka inwardly noted. After visiting Momo's luxurious room, which had a huge bed, the competition was essentially over. As the class headed back to the elevator, Rebecca stayed behind for a moment. She looked back at the door to Tsuyu's room, seeing that it was slightly open.
"Uh, hey," Ochaco's voice chimed in, getting her attention as she saw her approach, "Like I said, there's no need to worry about Tsu…" she affirmed, "At least… there shouldn't be anything to worry about after tonight," she corrected.
"What do you mean?" the Leaper Quirk user asked. At that very moment, Tsuyu's door was slowly opened to reveal her standing there. "Tsu…" Rebecca uttered out.
"…I want to talk with everyone who went to Camino," she told her classmates. A lot of tonight's events were meant to clear the air. But there were still some lingering issues that needed to be taken care of…
X
"And the winner of Class A's first-ever, now traditional, room contest is…" Mina began, pulling a name upon a piece of paper out of a hat, "RIKIDO SATO!" she exclaimed.
"Huh?!" the Sugar Rush Quirk user yelped in surprise, not expecting to be victorious, especially over people like Shoto and Homura. As Minoru, Denki and Weisz chastised him for essentially bribing the girls with cake earlier, Ochaco walked over alongside Rebecca.
"Hey, uh, Deku?" the Zero Gravity Quirk user said, getting the One For All inheritor's attention, "Can you come outside with us for a sec?" she requested of him.
"Uh, sure…" he replied. He watched as she and his girlfriend went ahead to gather Eijiro, Shoto, Homura, Kyoka, Momo, Shiki, and Tenya as well. They were all brought outside, surprised to find Tsuyu standing there on the grass in the front yard. Crickets chirped as the group gathered in front of the Frog Quirk user, with Ochaco and Rebecca standing by her.
"Tsu has something she wants to talk you all about…" the ash blonde-haired girl noted, nodding to her classmate. She lowered her gaze for a moment.
"I always say what's on my mind no matter what," she pointed out, "But… there's times when I don't know what to say at all…" she admitted as there was a hint of a sadness in her voice, "Do you remember what I said at the hospital?" she inquired of the group, more specifically those who were in Izuku's room at the time.
"Yes, vividly so," Homura responded honestly, while the others simply nodded.
"I said some really hurtful things to you guys, even though you just wanted to help…" Tsuyu noted in a whimper, lowering her gaze.
"Oh, Tsu…" Ochaco said, putting a comforting hand onto her back.
"But even though I said all that, you still went to risk your lives…" the Frog Quirk user pointed out, "I was shocked to find out you actually did it…" she added on, "I thought that I ended up stopping you, and it made me feel so disappointed in myself…" she kept going through her welling tears, "I didn't know what to say…" she continued, "And I didn't think I could just have a good time with everyone like usual…" she confessed on, "But that… made me really sad…" she finished, lifting her head to reveal the tears falling down her face. Izuku was disheartened by just how hurt she had been. As much as she wanted to help them when it came to saving Rebecca, she didn't want to risk breaking the rules like their teacher had said earlier.
"It's not like you're the only that feels that way, Tsu," Ochaco pointed out, rubbing her friend's back, "I'm sure everyone wanted those uneasy feelings to go away…" she mentioned, glancing off to the side, "That's where the room contest came in," she noted, "Everyone understood how you all were feeling at the time and well… uh… you know…" she stammered, tripping over her own words.
"Let's all work hard together again," Rebecca finished for her, stepping forward, "And we can laugh together, too!" she added with a smile, "Something about this room competition made me realize… there's a lot we can all do as a class together," she told the group, going over to hug the crying Tsuyu from the side, "While we're still working to be heroes, we can mend that unease we're all feeling after everything," she affirmed.
"Tsu, I'm so sorry!" Shiki exclaimed apologetically with tears streaking comically down his face.
"Me too!" Eijiro yelled as he rushed up to the Frog Quirk user. Everyone went ahead and voiced their apologies to her. It wasn't easy trying to make things feel normal again. But that's what they needed to do in order to persevere. Rebecca walked over to her boyfriend, who was wiping his teary eyes.
"So… what kinds of ideas did you have for the class?" he asked. The Leaper Quirk user giggled.
"I won't show 'til later!" she vowed with a wink. Izuku chuckled, sharing a comforting hug with her. She had a somewhat guilty look upon her face, thinking back to her conversation with Noah the other day. She just held the One For All inheritor closely, not wanting to lose him again.
ENDING
Insert "Update" by miwa
Opens with all of Class 1-A standing in front of U.A. together. Izuku and Rebecca stand at the front, with the former balling his left hand into a fist as he looks to the sky. His girlfriend glances over and smiles, happy to see him determined.
We go through a few scenes of Homura shaking as she struggles to withstand the heat of the hot spring, while her fellow female classmates are just fine. Weisz and Minoru attempt to peep on them, only to get struck by wash tops flung at them by Rebecca. They crash down on the other side of the while, with the rest of the boys there shaking their heads.
We see Izuku and Rebecca sleeping against each other on the subway ride back home. Ochaco smiles at them from nearby, but then notices Shiki sleeping on her shoulder and drooling. She screams in surprise, waking him up while also startling everyone in the train car. She blushes in embarrassment, burying her reddening face into her hands.
The scene changes to Homura joining Shoto on an excursion along the beach, where they're joined by their friends. Shoto finds a seashell and offers it to Homura, who accepts with a smile. Mina looks at them excitedly, while Kyoka rolls her eyes and sighs behind her.
We then shift to the class training, with Katsuki racing against Tenya and Weisz with his explosions. Shiki passes them all by to their shock, making him the winner. In the meantime, Rebecca practices kicking with Tsuyu, sharing a smile with her as they work together.
Everyone is doing their best around school, whether in the classroom or in the field. Izuku shares a moment with All Might on the beach before they shake hands firmly. We close out on a scene of some of the class standing on a tower together. Izuku smiles brightly, and Rebecca plants a kiss onto his left cheek under his freckles. She giggles as he blushes, happy to be with him and their friends.

Rebecca Bluegarden: *thinking* I know exactly the kind of hero I wanna be now!
The scene changes to her firing shots on the battlefield at the exam center, being joined by some of her classmates as they charge on. We see some shots of Shiketsu High's students, including the likes Lyra Dekki, Nasseh Saimin, Milani Lucra, and Callum Steelford.
Milani Lucra: So that's the famous UA High Class 1-A, huh?
Cut to her emerging from a mirror to grab someone and pull them in.
Nasseh Saimin: I'm curious to see just how versatile these famous students are…
Cuts to him hypnotizing several people in the exam center, smirking almost evilly.
Lyra Dekki: Let's see what they've got against us… *licks lips*

Callum Steelford: We're all going to do our best in Shiketsu's name.

Weisz equips his Arsenal armor, Kyoka plugs her earphone jacks into amps on her wrists, Denki pulls his new sunglasses over his eyes as he smirks, and Izuku rears his right leg back as he's equipped with iron soles at his feet.
Izuku Midoriya: We're all doing this together!
THROUGH THE ROUGH
Cuts to Overhaul and some members of the Shie Hassaikai looking over a fire. Amongst them are members of Rogue Out, including none other than Kris.
The scene then changes to a warehouse, where Laguna is face-to-face with the imposing figure of Goodwin.
Goodwin: So, you decided to come crawling back to me, huh?
Laguna narrows his eyes with shame as he thinks back to his time at U.A., particularly with Hitoshi.
