Hey folks! We're back with more of "Through the Rough" heading into the second half of the Season 3 adaptation! As you might've seen in last week's preview, there's a lot up and coming for the story as a whole.
We're also going to be going into a new opening and ending sequence for the remainder of the season, which I hope you're all excited for! It's not going to be the same songs you know either, but ones that I'm sure you'll love if you give them a listen. With all that out of the way, let's get started!
THROUGH THE ROUGH
"Aah~…" Rebecca yawned out as she walked into the bathroom with her toothbrush in hand. The first night in the new dorms was a good one. Though she did stay up a little later playing on her Switch…
"Sleep well?" Kyoka inquired, getting her attention as she saw the Earphone Jack Quirk user walk in, rubbing the back of her head.
"Oh, yeah," the ash blonde-haired girl replied, "Hearing what Tsu had to say made me realize just how much everyone wanted to help like you, Izu, and the others…" she pointed out in remembrance, "But… they didn't wanna break the rules," she mentioned, "Either way, I appreciate the feeling," she affirmed with a giggle.
"Yeah," Kyoka agreed with a nod. After getting herself sorted with breakfast, getting dressed in her uniform, and fixing her hair, the Leaper Quirk user joined her classmates as they ventured into the classroom for their first class of the second semester. Everyone mingled about for a bit, exchanging greetings and gossiping.
Rebecca spotted her boyfriend entering alongside Shoto and Homura, getting up from her seat to greet him with a hug, which he happily returned. Katsuki wandered in, seeing their embrace. He scoffed, heading over to his seat.
"Is it just me, or is Bakugo less of a jerk lately?" Denki inquired quietly of the others.
"I bet he and Bluegarden must've gone through a lot together in the League's clutches…" Hanta whispered.
"Still, that probably wouldn't stop him from sassing Midoriya…" Toru pointed out.
"Yeah, I think it's something else…" Mina admitted, narrowing her eyes curiously.
"Morning, students," Shota's voice chimed in as he entered the classroom, with everyone retreating to their seats in order to pay attention, "We've got a lot to go through to start this semester, especially with what's ahead," he told them, "For starters…" he continued as he stood up at the podium, "you're going to be obtaining your provisional licenses," he stated. He explained that normally, first-year students would wait until their second year to take the Provisional Hero License Exam, in which if they were to pass, they would receive the ability to act as heroes in emergency situations. That got everyone's attention for certain, especially those who were involved in what happened in Camino.
"So in order to prepare everyone…" another voice chimed in, belonging to Hermit as she entered alongside Midnight, Sister, and Cementoss.
"We're going to be helping you create your own signature special moves!" the Somnambulist Quirk user declared.
"Special moves?!" Eijiro repeated excitedly, "Like in an anime?!" he inquired on.
"Calm down," Shota advised, "Everyone, get into your costumes and head on over to Gym Gamma," he instructed of his class, "We've got a lot of work to do and not a lot of time," he pointed out seriously.
"Yes, sir!" most of the class responded. As Rebecca grabbed the suitcase that held her costume, she took a moment to think. Her conversation with Noah had given her a new perspective. All this time, she had wondered what kind of hero she had wanted to be. And now, she finally found her answer.
OPENING
Insert "New Genesis" by Ado
Opens with Rebecca dressed in her hero costume, with her hair now in pigtails as she looks toward the dawning sky. The wind waves through her hair before she looks back and smiles to see the rest of Class 1-A, with her boyfriend standing at the front as he smiles. The title logo comes on screen.
As the music picks up, we get shots of each member of Class 1-A in training, thinking about their battles in the U.S.J., the Sports Festival, the hero killer attack in Hosu, the Müller raid in Shibuya, the final exams of the first semester, the forest training camp attack, and the incident in Camino. Everyone's motivating each other as they prepare to enter the next phase in order to become heroes. They all stand outside an exam center together, having determined looks on their faces.
There are several scenes of Homura drawing her energy blades to block off rubber balls being sent towards her, Denki, and Momo, Minoru unleashing a barrage of his sticky balls to trap opponents, and Fumikage releasing Dark Shadow as it covers him like armor. We see Weisz equip his Arsenal armor as he speeds past everyone alongside Tenya and Izuku. However, they're brought to a halt as the wind picks up around them.
They look to see that it's courtesy of Inasa Yoarashi, whose grin is wide until he spots Shoto through the crowd, making him glare with contempt. Other Shiketsu students are on the scene, including the likes of Milani Lucra, Nasseh Saimin, Lyra Dekki, and Callum Steelford. There's also students from Ketsubutsu Academy, which also includes the likes of Orc, Mora, and Britney.
We watch as Rebecca finds herself forced into battle against Britney, running around from her smoky form while using her new pulse blasters to try and throw her off. Orc confronts Izuku, while Mora locates Katsuki. The three U.A. students fight on with all their effort.
Meanwhile, Shiki has his green markings expand as he flies across a ruined battlefield to confront Gang Orca, who blows him back with a sonic blast. Ochaco catches him in midair, followed by Kyoka plugging her earphone jacks into her amps to unleash a soundwave that tears through the ground. Mashirao and Tsuyu join in the fray, taking care of Orca's minions in the exercise.
During his ordeals, Katsuki starts thinking about what had happened with All Might back in Camino. He looks toward Izuku, who is running beside him, and then at Rebecca. He brushes his thoughts off for the moment, continuing onward.
We get a shot of Nero in his office with Ijuna, the League of Villains hiding out in a warehouse, Overhaul and the Shie Hassaikai looking over a car fire, Kris finding the likes of Rogue Out, and Laguna meeting with the imposing figure of Goodwin. The song winds down as Rebecca brushes her back and smiles toward the horizon with her boyfriend. Their classmates all stand behind them, ready to become heroes.
END OPENING
"Bellholy… Slash!" Rebecca exclaimed as she landed a roundhouse kick onto a clone of Ectoplasm, knocking him aside. They were training in Gym Gamma alongside the rest of Class 1-A, with the teacher having provided a clone for each student. However, the original was working with the Leaper Quirk user.
"Your timing's good," he complimented as she breathed heavily with exhaustion, "But the strength in your kicks isn't as potent as Iida's for example," he pointed out.
"Seriously…?" she grumbled in question, putting her hands onto her knees as sweat dripped down her face.
'I really need to focus on not only powering my Quirk up, but also making sure I have a style that works for me…' she noted to herself.
"Still having trouble, Bluegarden?" Shota asked, causing her to perk up as she saw him approach.
"Mister Aizawa…" she uttered out, standing up straight. She remembered how back during the training camp, she didn't disclose the newer nature of her Quirk because she feared it would get everyone in trouble, especially when Maria had threatened her. But now… "Um, there's something I wanna tell—"
"I know about that new Reverse ability you have," the Erasure Quirk user said, interrupting her.
"…Huh?" she uttered out as she blinked twice.
"Witch was kind enough to let me know a while ago," he mentioned to her, much to her embarrassment as she slouched her shoulders.
'Of course he knew…' she grumbled inwardly.
"I think if you use that ability more often, at least in a way that doesn't overexert your body," Shota started to say, "you could enhance your Quirk's power," he told her.
"How long can you use this ability?" Ectoplasm inquired, chiming into the conversation.
"I can use it up to three times for about a day before I start falling apart," the Leaper Quirk user replied, "On top of that, I only go back about forty to forty-five seconds," she affirmed on.
"Intriguing…" Ectoplasm noted, narrowing his eyes. Shota put a hand onto his chin in thought.
"Ether-types are ones that need to gather energy before exerting it fully," he pointed out, "Whether that be by meditation, stretching your body, or some other method, you can channel that energy and use it to enhance your abilities right now," he explained, "If you can go back in time, you can probably move faster through it as well," he mentioned as the Leaper Quirk user looked down at her legs curiously.
"Still, I don't think speed is the main problem," Ectoplasm admitted, "Perhaps she needs a new fighting style that best suits her," he suggested, "One that can put that Reverse ability to good use," he added.
"Yeah," Shota agreed with a nod.
"Hmm…" Rebecca hummed curiously in thought. She knew that her leg strength would be nowhere near as powerful as Tenya's, so she'd have to make up for that with both speed and versatility.
"I've got an idea!" Hermit chimed in, getting the group's attention as they saw her approach. Moments later, she was showing the Leaper Quirk user a diagram of what appeared to be firearms upon a holographic screen she projected from her left arm.
"You… think I should use guns?" she inquired, arching an eyebrow out of bewilderment.
"Pulse guns," the Shining Star Hero corrected, "They're non-lethal, but they definitely pack a bunch of firepower," she pointed out.
"Whoa…" Rebecca uttered out.
"Also, I've been taking the time to study your Quirk based on what Witch told me about your time manipulation ability," Hermit mentioned to her surprise, "Drakken had mentioned the Chronophage Abnormality Theory to you, right?" she inquired.
"Uh, yeah…" the ash blonde-haired girl replied, still a bit stunned.
"In that case, I guess we could call your Quirk Cat Leaper now," the Shining Star Hero noted, "Fitting, isn't it?" she assumed with a giggle. Rebecca smiled back.
"Yeah," she replied as she nodded. Watching on, Shota could tell that his student had a lot of her confidence restored. Only time would tell if it would carry her to new heights.

"Magimech Attack…" Shiki started to bellow, "Gravity Center!" he exclaimed, palming the ground fiercely with his right hand, creating a massive crater.
"Impressive as always, Young Granbell!" All Might complimented, getting his attention as he saw the retired pro approaching him. He had nothing better to do today other than see his students, providing them with advice as to how they could adjust with their Quirks to better themselves. "You think you're doing alright?" he inquired of the Satan Gravity Quirk user.
"…No," he responded honestly to his surprise, "I need to get stronger… enough to get that Overdrive thing Mister Aizawa was talking about…" he affirmed, clenching his right fist tightly. All Might placed his unbroken hand onto his shoulder to get his attention.
"Don't force it," he advised, "Let your energy channel through your body and when the time's right, be ready to let it loose," he instructed of him, "I think that's how you'll achieve something as strong as that," he assured with a grin. His advice was meaningful to a lot of the students, especially Izuku. Though he was still trying to figure out what he meant from his words earlier, wandering the halls of U.A. to the development studio.
'I'm still trying to imitate All Might…' he recalled, putting his gloved hand onto his chin in thought, 'What does he mean by that?' he wondered inwardly, 'Is it my costume? The way I fight? The way I try to always smile in the face of danger?' he listed off as questions in his head. He didn't realize that he was muttering out loud all the while, not noticing the pair of figures approaching him from behind.
"He's in that state again, huh?" Kyoka assumed, putting her hands onto her hips as she and Rebecca were behind him, "You wanna do the honors?" she inquired of her friend, who giggled. She went over and placed a hand onto her boyfriend's shoulder.
"Hey, Izu!" she greeted, causing him to yelp in surprise as he stumbled forward, turning and sighing to see his girlfriend and the Earphone Jack Quirk user there.
"Don't do that…" he insisted as he pouted a little, "I'm already feeling a bit jumpy today…" he admitted.
"We can tell…" Kyoka noted with a roll of her eyes, "So you're here to get upgrades, too?" she assumed.
"Yeah," the One For All inheritor replied, nodding his head, "Right now, I'm just looking at support for my arms since they've both been through hell…" he told the girls, holding his appendages out, "What about you two?" he asked of them.
"I'm trying to add some more amps to my costume, just to have a couple other options when it comes to fighting," Kyoka replied.
"And I'm adding guns to my arsenal!" Rebecca added excitedly.
"I'm sorry… what?" her boyfriend uttered in confusion, shaking his head as he thought he had misheard her.
"Pulse guns, to be exact," the Cat Leaper Quirk user corrected, "Hermy said that Mister Power Loader already had the materials organized for something along those lines," she explained.
'Hermy?' both Izuku and Kyoka uttered inwardly, arching their eyebrows.
"Well, it's good that we're all sorta finding our own directions…" the One For All inheritor admitted.
"Yeah!" his girlfriend agreed with a nod. Meanwhile, the Earphone Jack Quirk user perked up slightly as she looked through the gap of the door into the development studio.
"Uh… guys?" she uttered, getting the attentions of her classmates. Just as Ochaco called out to them alongside Tenya and Shiki, an explosion burst out of the room, engulfing the trio.
"Guys!" the Satan Gravity Quirk user exclaimed, jogging over alongside Ochaco, while Tenya speed-walked after them onto the scene. The smoke was starting to settle.
"Ow-ow-ow…!" a familiar voice repeated out of pain as a distinctive pair of goggles and pink locks of hair stuck out, which the group noticed.
"Ugh…" Power Loader groaned, emerging from the smoking development studio, "You know, you really shouldn't just roll with an idea without testing the outcomes first…" he pointed out seriously.
"Heheheheheh…" the familiar voice chuckled from within the smoke, "Failure is the mother of invention, Mister Power Loader," she pointed out, "Thomas Edison said something along those lines…" she mentioned, "Even if my babies don't work the first time, there'll be many more times where they can work!" she proclaimed. Shiki and Ochaco slightly widened their eyes to find that it was Mei there. And she was lying on top of Izuku.
"You almost blew up the entire design studio!" her teacher shouted back, "Would you please open your ears and actually listen to me for once, Hatsume?!" he inquired emphatically. However, his student was distracted by the freckled teen she was lying upon.
"Hey, when'd you get here?" she asked curiously. He batted his eyes open… and immediately saw her cleavage.
'B-B-B-Boo…!' he stammered inwardly, immediately looking away as his face went red.
"Izuku, you alright?!" Shiki asked as he jogged over alongside Ochaco to see the One For All inheritor scatter up to his feet.
"I-I-I'm fine!" he stuttered out, still burning a bright red in the face.
"Sorry about that…" Mei apologized, getting up as well, "One of my babies just went kaboom back in there…" she pointed out, sheepishly rubbing the back of her head.
"Babies…?" Shiki uttered in confusion and shock as he trembled a little.
"Not those kind…" Ochaco assured, holding up her hands in a placating manner.
"Where are Bluegarden and Jiro?!" Tenya frantically asked as he approached the scene.
"Over here… ow…" Rebecca's voice responded as the smoke was finally fully clearing, "I tried to pull Kyoka out of the way at the last second there…" she noted, rubbing the back of her head, "Oh, Kyoka, are you okay?!" she asked of the Earphone Jack Quirk user… whose head was pressed against her friend's ample chest. Her entire face was flushed red, much like Izuku's.
"I'M FINE!" she squeaked as she immediately shot up onto her feet, shaking her head to recompose herself.
"Uh… are you sure?" Tenya asked in concern, "Your face seems pretty red and—"
"I SAID I'M FINE!" Kyoka bellowed out, interrupting him as he flinched in surprise. A few moments later after reacquainting with Mei, the group was brought into the workshop. Power Loader was quick in helping assess everyone's needs. He even had a pair of pulse guns for Rebecca already prepared.
"These were actually modeled after a design in Europe," he told her, "Cartridges automatically reload, but they're not good for rapid-fire," he mentioned as the Cat Leaper Quirk user picked up one of the firearms, "They tend to overheat when you go beyond ten shots apiece," he explained on, "And cooling down is about ten to fifteen minutes," he added.
"I'll be sure to use them wisely," Rebecca promised.
"Not even ten minutes in here, and you've already got your upgrade…" Kyoka noted, putting her hands onto her hips. The Cat Leaper Quirk user sheepishly giggled.
"I'm still gonna need things like holsters and extra cartridges…" she pointed out.
"But it's still really cool that you have a new way to fight!" Izuku chimed in excitedly… right before suddenly getting felt up by Mei as he shrieked in surprise. Rebecca watched on and could only smile. Everyone was gearing up for what was ahead. And they'd need to with the chance to be recognized as heroes at stake…
X
"And take that!" Rebecca exclaimed as she fired a pulse shot onto an Ectoplasm clone in Gym Gamma, knocking him back before she closed the distance by running over, landing a powerful kick to his stomach to make him dissipate. Watching from afar was Shota, who stopped the stopwatch application upon his phone. He grinned a little upon seeing the 5.2-second time that the Cat Leaper Quirk user had run. Clearly, she was improving.
Everyone was improving over the past couple of days. Kyoka, Koji, Eijiro, Shoto, Weisz and Denki all obtained costume improvements built to their needs. Others like Mezo and Homura were honing their special moves. One of the biggest improvements seemed to be from Izuku, whose fighting style had switched from punches to kicks, despite how his costume now had arm bracers. Iron soles were at his feet, which added to the power of his attacks.
"Those look really good, Izu!" his girlfriend complimented, getting his attention.
"Thanks!" he responded gratefully, "I still don't have a special move in mind…" he admitted, "but I've got a handle on what I can do right now," he affirmed on.
"Indeed you do from the look of it," All Might agreed as he approached, getting their attentions, "Based on those kicks, I'd say you're farther along than you give yourself credit for…" he pointed out.
"Oh, uh… thanks…" Izuku stuttered out, humbled by his mentor's sincerity. Rebecca giggled, glad for her boyfriend. But then she took notice of something. Class 1-B was lurking around the corner, with both Neito and Itsuka leading the group into the gymnasium.
"Clear on out, Class A!" the Copy Quirk user insisted, "The real heroes are about to take center stage!" he affirmed, much to the annoyance of the orange-haired girl beside him.
"Man, crap timing…" Denki grumbled out.
"No way…" Rebecca uttered, trembling a little. Neito noticed.
"Afraid of our power, Class A?" he wondered with a chuckle. The Cat Leaper Quirk user approached the rival class. "I bet you're just quaking in your boots, wondering just what kind of gap there is between—!"
"Kleene!" Rebecca exclaimed, passing by him.
"Huh?" he uttered in surprise. As it turned out, the Cat Leaper Quirk user could care less about him after seeing none other than Kleene amongst those of Class B, dressed in her hero costume.
"I can't believe you're actually here!" Rebecca noted as she approached, "When did you—?" To her surprise, the Wind Snatch Quirk user stepped back. "Huh?" she uttered in confusion.
"It's okay, Bluegarden," Setsuna chimed in, getting her attention, "Kleene's just… not really ready to be near you or Bakugo just yet…" she pointed out.
"What? Why?" the Cat Leaper Quirk user asked.
"Well…" Sekijiro began as he came over, folding his arms over his chest, "upon getting Rutherford back into the classroom after she revealed her involvement with the League, we had to set some ground rules for her," he explained, "She's not to be outside of UA without supervision and won't be allowed to associate with anyone from other classes outside of the Hero Course, including the likes of you and Bakugo," he told her thoroughly, "Although, that last part's more on herself…" he mentioned.
"Huh?" Rebecca uttered in confusion and worry.
"I can't trust myself after everything I've done…" Kleene admitted, lowering her head with shame, "I shouldn't even be here…" she added as she trembled.
"Kleene…" Itsuka said, hearing her sniffle. At that moment, the Cat Leaper Quirk user stepped forward. She gently wrapped her arms around the Wind Snatch Quirk user, whose eyes widened.
"Wh…Why?" she stammered in question.
"Because you're willing to make up for everything you've done," Rebecca responded, pulling herself back a little to look at the Wind Snatch Quirk user in the eyes, "Even if you don't think you deserve a second chance, I do," she affirmed on as others watched on in awe, "And so do your friends and your teachers," she mentioned, "So don't beat yourself up," she advised, "Push on and be the best person you can be now," she insisted with a smile. Hearing that, Kleene's eyes shimmered. She teared up, crying into the Cat Leaper Quirk user's shoulder. Having witnessed the whole ordeal, Izuku smiled. That was his girlfriend's greatest trait. Not her Quirk, but her compassion and kindness for others.
"Young Bluegarden's really making a fine example of a future hero," All Might noted from afar.
"Well, we'll see if it works out…" Shota chimed in with a shrug. Tomorrow was the day of the licensing exam. It was early into the evening, and everyone in Class A had already eaten dinner.
"So… to take our minds off of the fact that our exam's coming up tomorrow…" Mina started to suggest to the rest of the girls, who were gathered in the common area, "let's talk about who the cutest boy of the class is!" she insisted giddily.
"Hard pass," Kyoka immediately responded.
"Yeah, that seems likes it'll stress more of us out than not…" Rebecca mentioned, looking over at the reddening faces of Ochaco and Momo, who were both thinking about one boy in particular.
"Aw, you're no fun!" Mina complained, puffing her cheeks in frustration.
"But still, we could use something to take our minds off of all this…" Toru admitted, chiming into the conversation.
"How about a movie, ribbit?" Tsuyu suggested, "It's a good way to soothe our nerves," she pointed out.
"Yeah, I like that idea!" the invisible girl agreed excitedly.
"Eh, it works…" Mina muttered, still annoyed that her suggestion had gotten shut down.
"What movie shall we partake in then?" Homura asked curiously, "To be quite frank, I do not care for whatever you may choose," she pointed out, "I never saw many movies in my childhood days," she mentioned to her classmates.
"Wait, seriously?" Ochaco inquired out of surprise, "What were you doing instead?" she asked on.
"Training, of course," the Soul Blade Quirk user replied.
'Of course…' Kyoka grumbled inwardly, knowing how energetic and powerful Homura was.
"So, what kind of movie should we watch?" Momo asked.
"Ooh, romance!" Mina immediately answered as she raised her left hand.
"Make it a rom-com, and then it's perfect!" Toru insisted as a suggestion.
"What about action, ribbit?" Tsuyu asked.
"I too would prefer action…" Homura admitted.
"Hey, I thought you said you didn't even have a preference!" Mina shouted.
"F-Forgive me!" the Soul Blade Quirk user stammered, "I was just thinking out loud!" she claimed, raising her hands in surrender. As the girls bickered over their movie selection, Rebecca put a hand onto her chin in thought. Remembering what had happened a while back on the first night in the dorms, she knew that there were things she wanted to try and get the class to do together. And she perked up in realization.
"I got it!" she exclaimed as she stood up, "Uh, give me a few minutes!" she requested, hurrying off.
"Uh, where's she going?" Mina inquired, arching an eyebrow. Moments later, most of the Class A boys were gathered in the common area with the girls, including Izuku.
"So, we're all watching a movie?" he asked of his girlfriend, who was standing beside him.
"Yeah, just to relax a little before tomorrow," she answered with a nod, "As a matter of fact…" she continued, taking the remote and clicking a button to reveal said movie, being titled Iron Man, "I figured having the class watch the movies we do would be the best thing!" she pointed out excitedly.
"The original Iron Man, huh?" Eijiro noted, leaning against the couch, "Man, that takes me back…" he said, thinking of fond memories.
"We were still just kids back when this first came out," Denki noted, sitting next to Minoru on the couch with Kyoka and Toru.
"It'll be nice to get a refresher," Hanta added as he chuckled.
"I don't remember the last time I ever actually saw a movie…" Shoto admitted, sitting next to Homura as she blinked in surprise. Kyoka glanced over to them, silently chuckling.
'Can they be any more perfect for each other?' she wondered inwardly. At that moment, Weisz wandered in. He spotted the title screen of the movie on the television, widening his eyes slightly.
"Ah, Steiner," Tenya greeted upon spotting the Machina Maker Quirk user, getting his attention, "Will you be joining us for our first movie night as a class?" he inquired of him.
"Uh, sure…" he responded, going over to find a seat.
"That just leaves Bakugo outta the picture…" Eijiro noted aloud.
"Ah, he's a grandpa anyway," Denki dismissively remarked, "Besides, it's not like we're gonna miss him…" he mentioned, folding his arms behind his head.
"Wanna say that again, sparky?" a familiar voice inquired, causing the Electrification Quirk user to gasp, slowly turning his head to find none other than Katsuki there.
"A-Ah…" he stammered out in fright
"Kacchan…" Izuku uttered.
"These movies used to be the biggest deals until actual heroes showed up…" the Explosion Quirk user pointed out, deciding to seat himself right behind Denki, "They're lame, but I guess I'll watch if everyone else is…" he muttered out.
"That's the spirit!" Eijiro remarked with a wink and a thumbs up.
"Let's get this started!" Rebecca insisted, hitting the play button on her remote. As the movie started, Weisz found his eyes completely glued to the screen. A moment flashed through his mind of a woman with long blonde hair like his. He flashed back to reality when the title character's convoy was attacked by terrorists, followed by the reveal that he had been captured by them.
"So… is this guy supposed to be such a jackass?" Mina inquired.
"Hey, rude!" Denki shouted in response, making her flinch.
"Well to be fair, not everyone's seen this movie…" Mashirao pointed out, "We should let everyone form their own opinions," he insisted of his classmates.
"Hmph," Katsuki huffed. The movie continued with a flashback to a week ago, where the main character, Tony, was essentially a playboy philanthropist with the mind of a genius, having invented hundreds of weapons for his country's government. However, his perspective started to change when he saw that his own weapons were being used against him and the soldiers of his countries.
He had gotten kidnapped, held hostage by the terrorists and forced to create one of his more advanced weapons for them. Rebecca tensed up a little. This was eerily similar to her and Katsuki's kidnapping a while ago. Everyone had a dreaded feeling as well. However, Izuku took his girlfriend's hand into his own, getting her attention as he smiled warmly at her. She smiled back, thankful for his support.
Another key part of Tony's character was the fact that he now had to install an implant into his body in order to keep himself from dying. And with it, he was going to build a suit that would allow him and the friend he met inside the caves they were held captive in to escape. Minoru blinked twice.
"Huh," he uttered, "That's kinda like what you do, right Steiner?" he inquired of Weisz, making him perk up.
"Yeah…" he replied with a simple nod. He and the others watched as Tony built the armored suit, which he later used to escape the terrorists' stronghold and reunite with his friends in the military and back on his country's soil. As the movie went on, with the title character shutting down his company's weapons program, he was building better versions of his armored suit, taking his first flight, fighting off terrorists in the country where he had been taken, and trying to be a better person.
"I have to admit, this actor is quite charming…" Momo admitted.
"He's still a bit of a jerk, but he knows that and just wants to do right," Ochaco added. Hearing that, Weisz got up from his seat and walked out the front door, not saying a word.
"What's with him?" Hanta quietly asked. Eijiro got up from his seat, heading outside to see the Machina Maker Quirk user standing under the light of a lamppost.
"You good, man?" he asked of his classmate, whose back was turned to him.
"Yeah… I'm alright…" he responded, wiping his eyes with his right arm to the Hardening Quirk user's surprise, "It's just… that was one of the last movies I ever got to see with my mom before she… well…" he kept going, letting out a sniffle.
"Dude… I'm so sorry…" Eijiro apologized upon realizing where he was going with that.
"It's cool, don't worry," Weisz assured in reply, "Heh…" he chuckled, "My mom always said she saw a little bit of Tony in me, especially after I figured out my Quirk," he pointed out in remembrance, "I thought maybe I'd be able to invent something to help her, but…" he continued, trembling a little.
"You wanna be like Iron Man, huh?" Eijiro guessed.
"Yeah," the Machina Maker Quirk user replied with a nod, turning to face his classmate.
"Well, I'm sure you've got it in the bag," he affirmed with a pump of his fist, "After all, you're the one who's gone ahead and saved our butts before!" he pointed out with a laugh. Weisz chuckled in response. They returned to see the movie's climax, with Tony confronting his mentor, who had betrayed and was the one selling their weapons to their enemies. He too had made an armored suit, battling the billionaire genius with it.
Luckily, Tony managed to emerge victorious with help from the leading lady of the film, known as Pepper. Together, they killed the villain as he fell to his death. As the movie neared its end, there was a point where Tony had to provide an alibi for where he had been to the press.
"The truth is…" he started to say, holding up his card that he was going to read from. But instead, he decided to go off-script and actually tell the truth. "I am Iron Man," he stated. And reporters and journalists started flooding him with questions before the credits rolled.
"He revealed his identity?" Toru questioned, "Who would do something so stupid?!" she inquired on.
"Apparently, a guy who doesn't care for his own good," Denki responded, rubbing the back of his head, "Still pretty good!" he added as a compliment.
"Yes, that was quite enjoyable," Momo admitted, "I was more… fixated on the characters rather than the action," she confessed on.
"I think that's what makes movies like these so strong," Rebecca chimed in, getting her attention, "They focus on developing the characters first and worry about things like the story and action second," she explained, "And even then, it's still awesome!" she mentioned happily.
"Tch," Katsuki scoffed, "Of course you'd still like this crap…" he muttered out, trudging off.
"Ah, ignore the sourpuss…" Weisz grumbled out, "Rebecca's right," he said, "These guys might not be perfect, but they're still people like the rest of us," he pointed out to his classmates, who all blinked in surprise, "That's what we should all strive to be like," he insisted of them.
"Yeah," Izuku agreed, while everyone else nodded. Their journeys to become heroes were still in the balance. And tomorrow, it would be determined who was worthy for the moment, and who still had to improve…

Insert "Backlight" by Ado
Opens with Class 1-A's girls hanging out in the common room of their Heights Alliance building. Rebecca finds herself totally bored until she realizes something, running off. She returns a moment later with her Switch in hand, along with four controllers. She, Homura, Tsuyu and Ochaco are the first ones to start playing, though the Soul Blade Quirk user is initially holding her controller upside down.
They play a racing game to start things off, with the scene changing to show chibi forms of the girls driving in their karts. Homura slips on a banana peel and spins out, while Tsuyu gets hit by a green shell. Ochaco and Rebecca are neck-and-neck as they approach the finish line, and the Zero Gravity Quirk user wins by a hair.
After a brief celebration, the girls switch to a dancing game, where Mina, Toru, Kyoka and Momo compete. We again shift to a fantasy where the girls are dressed like dancers on a stage. Everyone's surprised by how good of a dancer the Acid Quirk user is, cheering her on excitedly. As the games continue, the boys enter the common area to find them playing.
Next up is a multiplayer first-person shooter that Rebecca, Weisz, Izuku, and Shoto start playing. We see that in the fantasy sequence, the Cat Leaper Quirk user has the best shot amongst her peers, even beating out Weisz. Afterwards, Hanta brings down four more controllers so that more people can play.
And so, it comes down to a fighter game, in which Izuku, Katsuki, Eijiro, Tenya, Homura, Momo, Shoto and Shiki play. Not knowing the controls, Tenya's character can only move like a robot before getting knocked off by Katsuki. Eijiro withstands Homura's blows until she's tired out, landing a finishing punch. Momo is hesitant to battle against Shiki, so she just falls off the edge of the stage as everyone looks to her in confusion in reality.
Katsuki's character bests Shiki, while Izuku manages to defeat Eijiro. The two face off against each other, exchanging blows before ultimately, Izuku wins. The class cheers excitedly, while Katsuki scoffs, though isn't as annoyed over losing.
The rest of the day continues with Denki and Hanta playing a golfing game, Minoru and Tsuyu facing off in a MOBA to everyone's surprise, Mezo and Koji enjoying a relaxing simulation game, and Yuga trying to sing in a karaoke game, only to make everyone flinch from the sound of his falsetto. As Shota and All Might wander in to check on the class, they smile to see Rebecca and Kyoka playing together as a team in a two-person fighter. They imagine themselves in their hero costumes, fighting against a villain as they charge in…
END ENDING
And that wraps up the start of the second half of the Season 3 adaptation! I imagine that this'll probably take us to the 100th chapter, which'll definitely a special one to close things out. But other than that, the licensing exam starts next week!
Who will pass? And who may fail? And who else might be involved?!
That and more is to come next time! See you all later, and thanks for reading!
