A/N This is a Christmas request. Holidays are nothing I do on my own with Autumn because of her British dad, but someone wanted this.
It was a cold winter. It had been snowing since Thanksgiving. The birds flew South for the winter, and some of the animals are hibernating. Everyone was getting ready for the Winter holiday season, as Christmas would be coming in two weeks. Then, it was December 18; it was the last day of school, and all the kids were having Christmas parties. Autumn and the other kids were having fun at their Christmas party in their classroom. They had Christmas cookies, cupcakes, fruit juice, party games, and watched a Christmas cartoon movie (Winnie the Pooh A Very Merry Pooh Year). After that, school ended, and the children were going home to celebrate Christmas with their friends and families.
It was December 22; Autumn was going Christmas shopping one last time with her parents. Sawyer and her parents are going Christmas shopping too, since this is their first Christmas at their new home. The next day it was December 23, Autumn went home to Sawyer's house to build a snowman outside and help making Christmas cookies and cupcakes. Sawyer and her parents' Christmas tree were amazing with rainbow lights, Christmas ornaments, and an angel top on the tree. Sawyer's mother came in and told the girls when it was time to decorate the cookies and cupcakes.
Sawyer's mom said, "Girls, you want to help decorate the cookies and cupcakes?"
Autumn and Sawyer said, "Yes." Meanwhile, Autumn and Sawyer helped decorate the cookies and cupcakes and they made them so wonderful. Then they took one bite of cookie and cupcake, and they tasted so good.
The next day, it was Christmas Eve. Autman and her parents are spending the day with Sawyer and her parents. They give each other their Christmas gifts. They even went to the church to sing Christmas songs, and then they had a big Christmas dinner together. Autumn and Sawyer helped to put their gifts under the tree. The Christmas tree was beautiful with colorful lights, pretty ornaments, and had a Christmas star on the tree.
Autumn said, "This is going to be the best Christmas ever".
Sawyer: replied, "Yes, it is. I love celebrating Christmas with my family and also new friends like you.", then added, "Christmas charity ads, for the SPCA, St. Jude and such, along with emotional movies, make me wind up in tears because I'm extremely sensitive to the world."
Autumn smiled, glad that Sawyer is her new friend, then they held hands and watched the Christmas tree together. After it was late, Autumn and her parents said goodbye to Sawyer and her parents wished them a Merry Christmas and Sawyer and her parents said the same thing and went back home. Autumn helped to put out milk and cookies for Santa. Then she went to her room to play with her Thomas toys. Autumn decided to go see her friend Thomas.
When Autumn arrived at Sodor, she could see Thomas was taking the passengers home, seemingly to her. Autumn said, "Hi Thomas. Merry Christmas. ", and hugged her friend when he stopped.
Thomas said, "Hi Autumn, Merry Christmas to you too."
Autumn told him that she had a wonderful Christmas with her family, and Sawyer and her parents.
Thomas said, "Looks like you have fun at Christmas time".
Autumn replied, "Yes I have. What are you doing?"
Thomas said, answering "I'm taking the carolers to sing Christmas songs around the island.", with his cheeky smile on his face.
Autumn said, "Sounds fun, can I join?"
Thomas said, "Of course. Hop aboard."
Autumn hopped aboard on Annie. Just then, the carolers arrived and climb aboard and Thomas took them around the island. Autumn and the carolers sang Silent Night, First Noel, Joy to the World, O Come Let Us Adore Him, Away in a Manger, and We Wish you a Merry Christmas. After Christmas sing along is over, Thomas took the carolers home but Autumn stayed behind to play in the snow.
After playing a while, Autumn made her rounds to see her other friends, then came back to Thomas. His crew were on break and he had the saddest look on his face.
Autumn asked, giving her friend a big hug, "What's wrong?"
Thomas said, "It's my first Christmas since my last sibling died." and he began to cry, wailing loudly, with a great many tears streaming down his cheeks. His wailing sobs and sniffling made him unable to speak.
Autumn broke the hug, pulled out her handkerchief and softly dried his tears. "There, there, Thomas," she said as she did so. "Let me wipe your eyeballs. I'm here for you, to wipe your pain away, so just let it all out." She gently rubbed his cheeks and wiped his eyes, listened attentively, doing her best to be present with her broken-hearted friend and tried to imagine how he felt. She felt overwhelming empathy for her friend.
Thomas cried some more, fresh tears filling his eyes. He sniffled again, hard, coughed as he choked on his sobs and hiccupped. He gasped and gulped, shaking as his tears came, not once stopping and let Autumn comfort him.
She said, as she continued to wipe his tears away, "Your emotion's valid, given what's happened, so I'm not here to rush your healing with platitudes or empty promises, just to dry your wet eyeballs, as long as you're a tear factory. I'm a tear machine, when emotion overwhelms me, so be a waterfall if you need to. I don't find emotions scary or uncomfortable, because I feel mine extremely deeply, so let tears fall like rain, if that's how you feel. I couldn't help that last bit, because your eyes put me in that place where they remind me of rain clouds.". She held her hanky to his eyes, letting him cry into it and wiped all his tears away as best she could, looking for context and possible inspiration.
Thomas wept and wailed non-stop in an endless torrent of tears until he had no more left to cry. Autumn dried his last tears away, wiping his cheeks and eyes dry of tears. She gave him the words she thought of to inspire him, as she did this. His face was all red and his sore and swollen eyes were flame-red, but he smiled, feeling better after crying.
Thomas said, "Looks like you had fun."
Autumn replied "Yes I did. I'm excited Santa is coming only after I go to sleep." Then Autumn started to yawn.
Thomas said, "You're getting tired, I guess it's time for you to go home."
Autumn answered, "I think I will. Good night, Thomas. Merry Christmas."
Thomas replied, "Good night, Autumn. Merry Christmas." After saying good night. Autumn went back home and then she saw the snowflakes outside her window.
Autumn brushed her teeth, took a warm bath, read a Christmas story, and went to bed with her Thomas plush and her new Christmas angel doll. While Autumn was sleeping, Santa Claus flew around the world to give all their Christmas gifts, according to those who believe in him.
A/N Because of my e-friend who likes Hurt/Comfort and Sawyer being a personality type that's extremely sensitive, according to her, I had that scene of Autumn comforting Thomas and the bit about Sawyer crying over Christmas charity ads and certain movies because she's emotionally overwhelmed by them. I'll do the New Year's request when it's New Years Eve, at least my time, the Valentine's Day one on that day and same with the Easter one being that day, along with the Autumn's 11th birthday request being on the first day of autumn, her in-story birthday.
