A/N I really wanted to wait until summer to write about Autumn and didn't really have a shape much for that, abandoning my OC fic until then after this, to focus on writing about Andrew and Linus in my crossover fics, Edward's backstory next month and the stuff with my trainsona I'm sharing with my FanFiction buddy. Due to someone requesting Autumn's 10th birthday last year, which in story timeline happens this fall, I'm a year ahead of real time in that timeline. My plans for Autumn were to do that summer story in June, maybe the first day of summer and then her 11th birthday on the first day of autumn and then have her go to Sodor every day, because 11's a hard age for her, as a stand in for harder patches I had in my adolescent years. Except I won't write about her daily, so it would slow the story timeline down. I may need to revise that summer chapter, if William's father dies of his cancer within the next year, to add William's coronation. However, since the request for Autumn to have appendicitis, like my dad as a kid, isn't something I object to content-wise, I'll lay aside my plan.

It was Friday Autumn and Sawyer went to school, in gym class the kids were exercising but not Autumn. The kind gym teacher called Mrs. Doherty came and asked if Autumn was all right. Autumn told her that she felt sore in her stomach on the right side and couldn't exercise, so Mrs. Doherty told Autumn to sit down and have a rest and Autumn did and went to sit down. Sawyer knew something was wrong with her friend, so she'd look after her all day. At recess, the kids went outside to play. Autumn and Sawyer were swinging in the swings. Sawyer asked Autumn if she was okay, Autumn told her she was fine but sore. Sawyer told her to tell her parents when she got home, and Autumn would right after school. After school ended, Autumn got off the bus and Sawyer too, Sawyer was staying over at Autumn's place while her parents celebrated their anniversary and they would pick her up after dinnertime was over. Before the girls went to play, Autumn told her mother that she had a sore stomach muscle on the right side, so her mother gave her a muscle icy cream to help. After that the girls went to play, after that it was dinnertime, Autumn and Sawyer came down and had fish sticks with ketchup and a bowl of pieces of corn for dinner, and they ate strawberry shortcakes for dessert. After dinner was over, Sawyer's parents came and picked up Sawyer. Sawyer and Autumn said goodbye, and Sawyer went home with her parents.

The next day it was Saturday. Autumn was doing her homework, but her right-side stomach started to hurt more, so her mother gave her icy muscle cream to help her. After Autumn was done with her homework, she played with her Thomas toy until she heard a doorbell ring, so she went to answer it. She opened the door it was Sawyer and her mom. Sawyer asked Autumn if she want to come to the park to play. Autumn asked her mother and mother said yes and told her to be gentle with her stomach/side and told her that she and her father are going to the movie theater to see a movie but it's a grown-up movie. Sawyer's mother told Autumn's mother that she'll looked after her and they'll make pasta for dinner, Autumn gave her mom a goodbye kiss and hug and put her Thomas toy inside her pants pocket and set off to the park with Sawyer and her mom. Sawyer and her mom walked slowly so Autumn could keep up since her stomach/side hurt a little. When they arrived at the park, Sawyer and Autumn entered the park and played slowly. They went sliding in slide, then were slowly going on swings, and next, played on the seesaw. After that, the girls and Sawyer's mom left the park and went to the bakery for sprinkle donuts, Sawyer picked a chocolate and Autumn picked the strawberry, after paying they went back to Sawyer's house.

At Sawyer's house, Sawyer's mom made snacks for the girls. They ate carrot sticks and pieces of bananas and drank milk, but Autumn didn't feel like eating or drinking much, so they went upstairs to Sawyer's room to play. For three hours, they watched TV, read books especially Thomas the Tank Engine books, played dollhouse, played with Thomas the Tank Engine that Autumn took him with her, and did finger painting. After they were done, they washed their hands. Then Autumn noticed the pretty doll that looked like an Indian princess (like Pocahantas) on Sawyer's dresser.

Autumn said, "That's a pretty doll."

Sawyer said, "Thank you. My big brother Nathaniel gave her to me before he moved away to college. When I look at her it makes me think of my brother."

Autumn replied, "I bet you miss him."

Sawyer said, "Yes, just a little. But he also sends us letters and call us, and that makes me happy as long he's okay."

Autumn said, "That's good. I wish I had a brother or a sister to play so I won't be an only child."

Sawyer said, "Don't worry. Someday you will when your parents decide to have another child."

Autumn said "Maybe."

Sawyer asked, "You want to play with my flower and butterfly puzzles, that I got for my birthday?"

Autumn told her friend, "Yes. Let's play."

Then there was trouble, Autumn felt a sharp pain in her stomach. Autumn cried out, "Ow ow!"

Sawyer asked "Autumn, what's wrong?"

Autumn yelled, "My stomach it hurts! Ow!"

Sawyer called, "Oh no! Mom help! Come quick! Help!"

Sawyer's mom rush upstairs, on hearing her daughter call for help.

Sawyer's mom asked, "What happened?"

Sawyer replied, " Autumn's stomach is hurting her."

Autumn cried out, "It hurts so much I never had a pain before."

Sawyer's mom said, "Oh dear. Hold on, I'll call the doctor."

Sawyer's mom rushed downstairs and called the doctor. Autumn started crying and felt the pain in her stomach more, so Sawyer held her friend's hand to help her feel better. Autumn used her free arm to wipe her tears.

Sawyer said, "Hang on, Autumn."

Sawyer's mom came back. She said, "Come on Sawyer, let's help her get to the hospital."

Autumn said, "Wait my Thomas toy."

Sawyer told her friend, "I got him."

Sawyer and her mom helped Autumn gently climb downstairs, put her in the car and rushed to the hospital. Sawyer's mom told her daughter that Autumn might have appendicitis, then they heard Autumn crying in pain.

Sawyer said to her friend, "Hold on, Autumn."

Sawyer's mom said, "We'll get you there in no time."

Ten seconds later, they arrived at the hospital. Sawyer and her mom helped Autumn walk slowly into the hospital. The nurse and the doctor came to help take Autumn. Sawyer's mom called her husband at work and told him what happened and asked him to get Autumn's parents, saying, "They're at the movie theater."

Sawyer sat down waiting and hoped her friend would be okay, then the doctor came in and told Sawyer's mom that Autumn had to get a surgery to get her appendix out. Sawyer and her mom came in and saw Autumn, still in pain and scared. Sawyer comforted her friend, then the nurse and doctor came in take Autumn to the surgery. Sawyer kept Autumn's Thomas toy with her cause they weren't allowed to bring toys in the surgery room. Autumn arrived in the surgery room, kind doctors and nurses were there to help her. One of the nurses brought a breathing tube and put it in Autumn's mouth and Autumn went into a deep sleep.

While Autumn was in the darkness, she heard someone calling her.

The voice said, "Autumn. Autumn."

Autumn woke up and heard someone calling her name.

Autumn said "Thomas? Is that you?"

Thomas answered, "Yes it's me."

Autumn realized that she's back visiting on Sodor. Autumn saw Thomas and hugged him and told him what happened.

Thomas told her, "It's okay. You'll be better soon until you're well enough to do your usual things."

Autumn said to her friend, "I hope so."

Thomas asked, "Do you want me to take you for a train ride?"

Autumn said, "Yes please.", and climbed aboard Thomas. Thomas puffed away to take Autumn for a train ride. While Thomas stopped at the water tower to get a drink, Autumn walked around and found Toby hiding in the bushes and he started to cry.

Autumn asked, "What's matter Toby? Why are you sad?"

Toby said tearfully, "I was sad cause someone told me that my brother died because he was very old, and they sent him to the museum just like old engines. I never got to say goodbye or tell him I love him."

Toby broke down tears, so Autumn said, "There, there, Toby. Let me wipe your eyeballs." and used her hanky and wipe his tears from his eyes. "It's okay, Toby. Cry all you want until you can stop." And Toby did as he continued sobbing until he stopped and thanked Autumn.

She said, as she continued to wipe his tears away, "I'm here for you, to wipe your pain away."

Autumn dried his last tears away, then put her sodden hanky away and kissed him on his cheek and said goodbye and to went meet Thomas back at the water tower. After the train ride, she made her rounds.

After that, it was sunset on Sodor. Thomas took Autumn to Knapford Station.

Autumn said, "Thanks for the ride, Thomas. You're a good friend."

Thomas replied, "You're a good friend too, Autumn. It's my pleasure."

Autumn started to yawn.

Thomas told her, "Well, you better get home now you're about to fall asleep."

Autumn said, "I will. Goodbye Thomas. I love you." and hugged him.

Thomas said in reply, "I love you too, Autumn."

After saying goodbyes, Autumn went back, until she started to open her eyes slowly and saw her parents in the hospital room.

Autumn's mom said," Hi Sweetie."

Autumn asked, "Mum, is that you?"

Autumn's mom answered, "Yes dear, it's me and your father is here too."

Autumn's dad said, "Hi sweetheart." They both kissed their daughter on the forehead. Autumn's dad added, "Sawyer and her parents told us what happened."

Autumn's mom said, "We arrived here just time when you enter the operating room. How are you feeling?"

Autumn told her mother, "Tired. But I'm fine."

Autumn's dad said, "That's good to hear."

Just then the nurse came in, and the doctor was with her.

The nurse said, "Hello, I see you woke up. I'm Nurse Margie I'll be looking after you.

The doctor said, "Me too. I'm Doctor Wilson. We came to check on you. How are you feeling?"

Autumn answered them, "Tired but better."

Nurse Margie said, "That's good. Here is some cup of water, since you haven't drink anything."

Autumn said, "Thank you. Where's Sawyer?"

Doctor Wilson told the girl, "She and her parents are in the waiting room, I'll send Nurse Lisa to bring them to see you.", because Margie was going on break.

Nurse Lisa said, "And here I am."

Just then Sawyer and her parents entered the room.

Sawyer said, "Hi Autumn."

Autumn answered, "Sawyer hi." They both a shared a gentle hug.

Sawyer said, "Here is your Thomas toy. I took care of him for you."

Autumn told her friend, "Thank you."

The doctor told Autumn's parents that she might stay in the hospital for ten days until she could go home, but she couldn't go back to school until few days, she just needed to be at home. Sawyer's parents told Autumn that Sawyer would send her some schoolwork and work together, thinking Autumn would like that.

The nurses and doctors took care of Autumn, they gave her breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and also helped her to go to the bathroom and take a shower. Sawyer helped Autumn with her homework and studying for the test, and Autumn got As and Bs on her homework and test. Ten days passed, Autumn was ready to go home so her parents came to get her and Autumn said goodbye to the doctors and nurses and thanked them for taking care of her, and one of the nurses helped her out of the building while Autumn was sitting down on the chair. She thanked her and said goodbye, then Autumn and her parents went home. A few more days, Autumn rested on her bed. She read books including Thomas books, watched TV, had a snack, and did arts and crafts. Then Sawyer came over to see Autumn, Sawyer gave Autumn get well cards from the class at school they made, and Autumn liked them. Sawyer gave Autumn her get well present, the card she made at school and book called Madeline that she bought at the bookstore. Autumn thanked Sawyer and was glad to have her as a friend, Sawyer was glad to have Autumn as her best friend too. Few weeks later, it was Earth Day, and Autumn could go see the Earth Day parade with Sawyer along with their parents. They got the bunch of candies and plush keychains. After the parade was over, Sawyer and her parents visited Autumn. Sawyer and Autumn could play games as long Autumn was gentle with her stomach used their imaginations to visit Thomas the Tank Engine, then after that they came home and they had pizza for dinner. Few more weeks has passed; Autumn was now better and want back to school again. The teacher and the kids welcomed Autumn, and Autumn thanked them for the get-well cards and told the whole class everything. After school ended, Sawyer and Autumn got off the bus and Autumn was visiting Sawyer's house. They played tea parties, also hide and seek, read books, watched TV, visited Thomas in their imagination and after coming home, then had spaghetti and red velvet cake for dinner. After dinner, Autumn's parents came to pick up their daughter. Autumn and Sawyer said goodbye, and Autumn went home. Autumn brushed her teeth, took a shower, said a prayer, read her Madeline book that Sawyer gave her, and went to sleep with her Thomas plush.

A/N Due to the story timeline being a year ahead of real time, I had to eliminate the Easter reference at the beginning. Sawyer's brother was around for Easter, just not mentioned because I got the request before I created him and couldn't think of anything for him to do that would play a role in the plot, perhaps. However, when I do the summer story, which is my next one that's my idea, not a request and is set in June. Don't do a 4th of July request, as the Autumn's 11th birthday chapter touches on July 4th. Writing about her 11th birthday was my idea, but someone requested a shape for that. Autumn's an only child because me being one. Due to Sodor being a magical island, in her dream she's wearing the clothes she had on before her surgery.
