Stalagmite peaks,

day 23 of octember, 5th Llama year.

Interviewer: [REDACTED, codename: Stone

Interviewed: Efe, Daughter of Lydia

Stone: Do you know why you're being interviewed?

Efe: Yes, I Just came back from being stuck underground for two weeks.

Stone: Correct, could you tell us with detailed information what exactly happened?

Efe: Yes, I will try my best.

Stone: From the beginning, before you even left.

Efe: Okay, so, I've always wanted to become a miner. My uncle is a miner. One day he told me that he would try to take me to his work one day. That day was two weeks ago.

My mom gave me permission to go and my uncle promised that if anything happened to me, he would let her kill him. As a joke, you know.

We got into the mine, put on all the equipment that we were gonna need, and went inside.

At first it was fine, my uncle showed me everything, and even let me use his pickaxe for a bit.

Then I suggested that we go deeper into the cave. He said no, but I insisted. My uncle got the equipment and said it was going to be a quick trip, because the area we were going into was mostly uncharted.

As we were going down into the deeper area, I slipped. My uncle got me, but lost balance and we both fell. We went beyond the safe parts of the cave, without any way of coming back up. It was all my fault.

Stone: Did any of you get injured?

Efe: Yes, my uncle twisted his ankle.

We stopped to evaluate the situation, he sounded desperate while he tried to comfort me.

Eventually we decided that there was no way of coming back from the way we came in, so we had to go deeper and find another way out.

My uncle told me about a cave entrance just north of where we were, but it was yet to be confirmed if it ended up connecting to the cave we were in.

We just started walking, we had a couple of hours of light with the torches we had.

I don't remember anything in detail from then on. We almost starved to death and survived because of an aquifer we had found. I remember once we found a lush cave, then we used the glow berries as light sources.

Stone: Right.

Efe: I also remember finding an abandoned mineshaft. That's when everything started to get worse.

There were undead creatures in the mineshaft and we could barely see them. We started to run and ended up in an open area with suspended bridges and railways. The monsters were coming our way, so we had to cross that part of the mine. Everything was just a bunch of platforms hanging on top of a lake of magma.

My uncle's foot got caught on one of the rails. He lost his balance and fell.

I couldn't look. Even if I wanted to, I had to keep going, because the creatures were catching up.

[INTERVIEWED STAYS IN SILENCE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS]

Stone: Take your time.

Efe: I had to survive off of old bread I found in the mine.

I kept going, then I ran out of light. When my eyes adapted to the darkness, I found out that there was light behind me. I had found the exit.

I crawled slowly, trying to not die or fall or run into anything dangerous.

When I got to the exit, I then h

ad to walk back to the town.

End interview.
