Many months had gone by since Peter rescued Aunt May. All of them were now living in a penthouse apartment, which they could afford thanks to MJ's modelling career getting back on track and the money Peter was earning working with Reed Richards.

Peter had also stepped down as Spider-Man for MJ, just as he warned he was unable to stay on the sidelines. He secretly went out as Spider-Man behind MJ's back, saying Ben was taking up the mantle. Sadly, MJ soon discovered the truth, and they ended up not speaking to one another.

Gwen was still trying to track down little May; with the information they got from Norman's hunting lodge, she could confirm that she was still in the country. She was also very certain that she was probably still in the same state, but trying to track down an infant baby was next to impossible; she was even certain whether they kept her name.

However, when she heard about the Parkers' marriage struggles, she had to visit MJ, who tried to convince her to forgive Peter.

"You expect me to forgive him after he went behind my back," said MJ hotly.

"I'm not saying what he did was smart," said Gwen. "But in fairness, he did warn you that he couldn't help himself in saving people. Do you know how many people he saved as Spider-Man?"

"I'm not disputing that, but after everything Norman Osborn put us through, and with him captured, I thought we had a real chance to live a normal life."

Gwen sighed. "MJ, you knew the moment you married Peter that life with him was never going to be normal."

"Of course, he would take his side; you're a superhero," she muttered.

"And I know how dangerous this job is," Gwen pointed out. "Look, do you still love him?"

"Of course I do," MJ sighed. "The problem is I don't know what he loves more, me or being Spider-Man?"

"That's a question you should be asking him, not me?" Gwen pointed out.

"You really want us to make up, don't you?" MJ sighed.

"I don't want your marriage to fall apart, and do you honestly think you're the only person who has to go through this?" Gwen asked.

"I don't know because he doesn't even introduce me to his superhero friends. He hasn't even introduced me to the Fantastic Four as a whole, and he works with them."

"Technically, he works with Reed Richards."

MJ narrowed her eyes. "Not the point."

Gwen held her hands up. "Okay, okay, but I think you should talk to him about this."

Thankfully, MJ took what Gwen said to heart and talked to Peter about this. Both agreed that they needed time away from one another, at least for a little while. MJ had just recently got an acting gig and went to Los Angeles, but thankfully, she kept her wedding ring.

Peter was now getting very close to getting his doctorate, but then he encountered a man named Ezekiel Sims, who mysteriously had the same powers as him. He warned Peter about a vampire named Morlun and told him not to face him and to go into hiding.

Naturally, Peter ignored these warnings and decided to face Morlun, so no one else got hurt. Peter soon discovered this foe was unlike any he'd ever faced. He was far stronger, and he wouldn't rest until he was dead. Also, Peter's spidey sense went crazy during the fight, which made it hard to concentrate.

The fighting was hard, probably the hardest fight Peter had ever experienced. Eventually, he won, though only just, and Morlun crumbled into dust. This didn't really sit well with Peter, but given the lengths that he was willing to go to to kill him, he decided that it was probably for the best.

However, he had been so exhausted from his fight with Morlun that when Peter got home, he collapsed into bed without changing his costume. As a result, when Aunt May stumbled upon him, she quickly put two and two together and was more than a little distraught.

Aunt May had taken what J. Jonah Jameson had said on the Daily Bugle to heart and discovered that her beloved nephew was Spider-Man more than a little overwhelming. She decided to wait until Peter woke up before confronting him on this matter.

"How can you be Spider-Man?" she asked.

"It was an accident," said Peter awkwardly.

Aunt May did not look amused. "This is no laughing matter, Peter."

"No, I'm serious, it was an accident," Peter admitted.

He then began to explain how he got these powers and mentions his role in Uncle Ben's death.

"You mean you've been carrying this guilt about what happened to Ben all these years?" Aunt May stared.

"It was my fault; if I had caught the thief, Uncle Ben would still be alive today," he said. "Since then, I have decided to use my powers for good and to help others."

"Peter, what happened to your uncle was not your fault. You couldn't have known what would happen," said Aunt May, gently looking at him in his eyes. "And Ben wouldn't want you to punish yourself."

"I know, and I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I didn't want you to worry."

"I always worry about you," Aunt May smiled. "I always worry; it's part of my job to raise you. I am, however, cross that you didn't think you could trust me with your secret."

"I know, but I was doing it to protect you. There are many people out there who would hurt the people closest to me if they knew that I was Spider-Man."

"Like Gwen?" Aunt May asked.

Peter nodded.

Then, before they could continue, they heard the sound of the window opening and saw Ghost Spider stepping inside.

"Peter, I have a few new leads I wanted to talk to you about—" she stopped when she saw Aunt Mat standing there, "but I see now is probably not the best time."

"It's okay, Ghost, she knows," Peter sighed.

Ghost Spider waved at me awkwardly. "Hello, ma'am."

Aunt May looked at Peter suspiciously. "You aren't going behind MJ's back, you?"

"No!" said Peter and Ghost Spider in unison.

"I'm his partner, and I have never made a move on him," said Ghost Spider quickly. "I only came here because I have a few new leads about his daughter."

Aunt May's eyes widened. "You're looking for my grandniece?"

"Since the moment she's been kidnapped," Ghost Spider nodded.

"Please tell me you found her?" Peter asked.

"I'm afraid not," she said regretfully. "However, I can confirm that she is still in the country, but May is a very common name, and I don't even know if they changed it."

Peter closed his eyes. "I see."

"I won't stop looking," Ghost Spider promised.

"Why are you going to such lengths to help us, and who are you?" Aunt May asked curiously.

"She won't tell us," said Peter. "She keeps claiming that it's not the right time, and I'm beginning to wonder if there will ever be a right time."

"Peter, I know it's frustrating, but I have my reasons," said Ghost Spider. "And someday, it'll all make sense."

Peter folded his arms. "If you say so."

Aunt May looked at Ghost-Spider, and she could tell from her voice that it hurt that she couldn't help them with everything. However, she suspected that her reasons were similar to Peter keeping his identity secret from her for so many years, and she could only hope that Ghost Spider would open up.

Peter and Aunt May visited MJ in Los Angeles a month later. Apparently, her character turned out to be the love interest of a superhero named Lobster-Man, who had been bitten by a radioactive lobster.

Peter found the entire thing rather amusing until MJ gave him the hideous death glare, telling him that if he said one single word, she would kill him right there and then. MJ then managed to talk to Aunt May privately, now discovering that she, too, knew Peter's identity.

"So, how much do you know?" MJ asked.

"Peter told me everything, including whether to use split up," she said. "Mary Jane, I know he betrayed your trust, but not a day has passed that he doesn't regret it. I would really appreciate it if the two of you could talk again."

MJ looked at her cup of coffee. "I don't think we're quite there yet."

"Do you still love him?" Aunt May asked.

"I do, and Ghost Spider is right. I knew what I was getting myself into when I married him. However, the stuff we've been going through for the past few years, Harry in a coma, losing our daughter. It was just too much."

"It was hard for me to accept Peter's secret life; when I first discovered it, I just couldn't believe it. However, now that I had time to process it, I realised they're two sides of the same coin. You can't have one without the other."

MJ gave a small smile. "The first time I saw Spider-Man on the TV, I admired him because we both wore masks to hide our true selves from the rest of the world. Then I discovered that Peter was him and I couldn't believe it. That's why I was rather reluctant to go out with him right from the start, but when I got to know him, I realised I liked the man behind the mask.

"However, I wasn't sure whether I could accept the other guy, so I suddenly began pushing him away. Then I suddenly realised that I was pushing him away like I did with my sister and nephews, and I want to go down that road again."

Aunt May nodded. "My heart jumped with joy when you accepted his proposal, and so did your Aunt Anna."

"I promise I will consider returning to New York, but not right now."

"I understand, dear," said Aunt May, placing her hands over hers. "And I hope to see you back home."

Sadly, their married life got a little bit more complicated when a woman named Shathra claimed to have an affair with Spider-Man on live television. It turned out that she was a supervillain who wanted to draw Spider-Man, but thankfully, he won.

Peter instantly called MJ, telling her it was all a lie, but he couldn't get through. Ultimately, he decided to visit MJ in LA, but unfortunately, she had the same idea of visiting him in New York simultaneously, resulting in the two of them missing one another.

Thankfully, they met at Dallas Airport and began to fix things between themselves, but then they were interrupted when Doctor Doom appeared. Then, there was an attempted assassination of him. Spider-Man quickly helped stop the assassination attempt with the aid of Captain America and Ghost Spider.

"What are you doing here, Ghost Spider?" Peter asked curiously.

"Following some leads when I encountered Cap and offered my help," she said. "Though I never expected to see you here."

Peter shrugged. "It's a long, complicated story."

"Well, I am glad you're here, son," Cap smiled.

"Yes, as I hate to admit it, your aid was invaluable," said Doom. "Though I loathe being in one's debt, it would seem as if I owe you for saving my life."

"Don't put too much into it," said Spider-Man and began making his way over to MJ. "I would have done the same for anyone else."

"You have to excuse him, Doctor," said Ghost Spider. "He's recently had some troubles with his wife."

Doom generally looked surprised. "He's married?"

"And a father," Ghost Spider added. "Unfortunately, his daughter was taken from him shortly after she was born by one of his archenemies. I've spent the past few years trying to find her with little luck."

"I see," said Doom as he watched Peter walk away.

Both Peter and MJ soon returned to New York and finally reconciled, and Peter began to promise to introduce her to some of his hero friends. The first group he introduced her to was the Fantastic Four after revealing his identity to Johnny.

"Man, I can't believe how jealous I am of you," said Johnny as he watched MJ talk with Sue Richards.

"You're jealous of me?" Peter stared.

"You have brains as big as my brother-in-law, your famous photographer, you have a loving aunt, and top it all off, using to attract the hottest babes I've ever seen," said Johnny, counting them off with his finger. "And you end up marrying one of them who so happens to be a famous supermodel."

"You got exciting missions with the Fantastic Four. Who knows how many sports cars and people actually like you?" Peter pointed out.

"Guess the grass is greener on the other side," Johnny chuckled.

"I suppose, but I almost lost everything," Peter sighed. "And I still haven't got it all back."

"You mean your little girl?" Johnny assumed.

"Ghost Spider is still looking for her, but I'm beginning to doubt if I'll ever lay eyes on her again."

"If you do, I'm sure my little niece would love a playmate close to her age," Johnny smiled.

Peter looked at Aunt May, who was holding Reed and Sue's baby daughter Valeria. Peter understood that she was born in the Negative Zone and had some complications, but Doctor Doom ironically saved her.

"I would like," Peter smiled.

All in all, life with the Parkers was back on track until Peter received a letter from Gwen Stacy. Two major problems questioned the authenticity of the letter. The first one was that Peter was very confident that Gwen would have more than one page, and the most glaring problem was the postmark showing that it came from New York and had today's date on it.

That same night, he went to visit Gwen's grave when he was suddenly attacked by two individuals, a man and a woman. He managed to fend them off but accidentally revealed to them that he was Spider-Man.

Whoever they were and started threatening Peter's family and nearly got himself blown up wasn't for the timely action of Ghost Spider and Ben. They also seem to have a vendetta against him personally, though he had absolutely no idea what could possibly be.

He then asked for the assistance of a detective, who found a letter from Gwen claiming that she was pregnant and had two children, a boy and a girl named Gabriel and Sarah. Again, it didn't make sense to get some confirmation, so he did a DNA test.

"You're absolutely sure that there are Gwen's kids?" Ghost Spider questioned.

"Yeah, they have to be what 15 years old," said Ben.

"I don't know, but I need to find out, which means I'm going to need a sample of Gwen's DNA," he said.

"Fortunately for you, I have some," said Ghost Spider, giving him a DNA sample.

Peter stared at her. "What are you doing with a piece of Gwen's DNA?"

"Do you really want to know?" Ghost Spider asked.

"Probably not," Peter admitted. "I better get to work right away. I'll inform the two of you what I found."

He then swung away, leaving Ben and Gwen alone.

Ben looked at Gwen, confused. "So, are they your kids?"

"I have absolutely no memory of ever being pregnant; in fact, me and Peter never… you know," she said awkwardly.

"Then I guess we won't have to wait for the DNA results," said Ben.

Peter indeed got the DNA results, and they matched, but then he was attacked by Sarah. During the scuffle, he removed her mask and discovered that she bore a striking resemblance to that of Gwen.

When he got home, MJ finally revealed that she knew the truth all this time. She revealed to him that he was indeed not their father, but it was, in fact, Norman Osborn. Apparently, she had overheard a conversation between them when Harry was sick. She told him point-blank that she was going to raise the children with Peter and they were going to stay far away from him as much as possible.

"So they really are your kids," said Ben.

"They may have the same DNA as me, but like I said before, I've never been that close to anyone, especially not Norman Osborn, who is old enough to be my father," said Gwen, confused. "Also, I have no recollection of that conversation with MJ, but I believe she's telling the truth."

"What do you think is going on?" Ben frowned.

Gwen knew exactly what was happening as she knew the truth about the twins but couldn't say anything to Ben.

"It's possible that clones," said Gwen. "If that's the case, they would proceed with both of you and let's not forget that Kaine has genetic experimentation due to the problems with the early cloning process."

"That does sound like Norman," Ben agreed. "And it sounds like him to poison their minds, making them believe that Peter abandoned them and Spider-Man is the cause of their mother's death."

"Peter hopes to reach out to them on the Brooklyn Bridge; we should meet him there."

Ben nodded.

They arrived at the Brooklyn Bridge, and Gabriel and Sarah were there as they had predicted. However, they would seem as if Sarah was starting to doubt Norman's story, but sadly, Gabriel refused to listen.

"Listen, everything you have been told is a lie," said Spider-Man. "I'm not your father, and I have nothing to do with your accelerated growth—"

"Lies!" Gabriel hissed. "Norman saved us as infants, raised, educated, and trained us. You abandoned us and killed our mother!"

"You should listen to him," said Gwen. "Norman never cared about you; he's only using you to make Peter's life a living hell."

"Yeah, just look what he did to his own son," Ben agreed. "He belittled him and pushed him over the edge, and now he's in a coma."

"I won't listen to your lies anymore!" said Gabriel, turning to Sarah. "Let's put an end to them, sis."

"Gabe, I think we should listen to them," said Sarah.

"Sarah?" Gabriel stared. "What are you talking about—"

"I told you I saw him doing a DNA test," she said. "He ran tests on our mother and only on our mother; he never ran tests on him. Why would he have to go through all the trouble getting a sample of her DNA if you could only use his? Unless he knew we weren't his children because he and her mother never… well, you know."

"And another fact that your father failed to mention was that he was the Green Goblin," said Ben. "He kidnapped your mother, and while Peter may blame himself for her death, he is the sole reason your mother is dead. Face the facts: the man you adored, your saviour, was using you."

"That's not true! He loved us!" Gabriel roared and charged at Peter.

He then began to hit Peter constantly, who refused to fight back. He was eventually pulled off by Ben and Gwen when suddenly they heard shots. They looked down and saw the police had arrived and surrounded the entire place.

"You are ordered to surrender now!" said the police captain. "If you don't, we will be forced to use lethal force!"

"This was all a trick!" Gabriel yelled and pulled out a gun.

He pulled the trigger, and while Peter was able to dodge the bullet, it kept going into it and pierced Sarah. The entire world stood still as Sarah looked at the wound and started to lose consciousness, falling off the bridge.

"No!" Peter yelled, diving after her. "I won't fail her! Not again!"

While Peter was saving Sarah, gable soon turned his sights on Gwen and Ben and began shooting at them.

"Look what you made me do!" he yelled.

He was so busy shooting at them that he wasn't watching his footing and slipped off the edge. Gwen and Ben rushed to the edge and saw him landing in the water.

"I'll find him," Ben offered. "You go with Peter and help the girl."

Gwen nodded and swung after Peter was already leaving the hospital.

Once there, they met up with MJ, and the doctors informed them that Sarah was losing blood. Peter offered to donate blood, but Gwen stepped forward, knowing there was a better chance of using her blood.

It worked, and Sarah was saved, but Ben called, informing them that he was unable to find Gabriel. However, seconds later, he appeared, now calling himself the Gray Goblin. He wore an outfit similar to Norman's, only grey instead of green. He grabbed Peter and took him to the roof, believing that he had corrupted his sister.

It was easy to conclude that he had taken a version of the goblin serum, making his unstable mind even more unstable. He fired missiles from his glider, and the explosions were powerful enough to send Peter flying into the wall, knocking the wind right out of him.

However, he was then saved by Sarah, who fired a gun at his glider, causing him to lose control and crash into the bay. Peter was so weakened by his fight with Gabriel that he was unable to stop her from leaving.

Sarah was changing out of her operation down to more suitable clothing when Gwen confronted her, still a little woozy after donating so much blood.

"Making a quick getaway, are we?" Gwen smiled.

"Don't try to stop me," said Sarah as she put on a jacket.

"I couldn't even if I wanted to," said Gwen weakly. "But were you going to go?"

"Somewhere far away," she said with very little emotion. "Why did you save me? After we try to kill you and your friends?"

Gwen, he was a small chuckle. "That's what we heroes do. We try to save everyone, but we don't always succeed."

Sarah looked at her. "Was everything you said back on the bridge true?"

"Yes," said Gwen sadly. "Peter Parker is not your father, but he would have raised you as his own if he'd been given the chance. On the other hand, your father did not want that to happen; for some reason, he really hates Peter. Even went as far as kidnapping his daughter, which nearly destroyed his marriage with MJ."

"And that same hatred consumes Gabe," said Sarah with tears in her eyes. "Guess he was too much like his father in the end."

"And you're a lot like your mother, and I don't mean just your appearance," Gwen smiled. "Believe me when I say she would have been proud to have you as a daughter."

Sarah looked at her curiously. "It's strange, but talking to you almost feels like I'm talking to family."

Gwen wished she could reveal her identity but knew it would be too dangerous. "You better go before the cop show, but if you need any help, call me."

"Thanks," said Sarah gratefully.

Gwen then watched as Sarah ran off, saddened to see her daughter leaving, even though she wasn't her daughter by birth.

I really wish I could have fixed the Sins Past saga, but the Kindred saga already did that. That's the main reason why I chose to have Harry in a coma, so he didn't impact the story as much; he will, however, come out of his coma later on.

I also found it ridiculous that Marvel never really gave Peter Parker a PhD in anything, even though he's supposed to be one of the smartest Marvel characters. I mean, he only got it when Doctor Octopus switched minds with him and then lost it late on, which is why I will give him his doctorate.
