Celebrating her 21st birthday in Vegas with three of her friends, Sara accepts a bet from them, but what she didn't know was that the bet would cause a ripple effect that will not only change her life, but others as well. Pre-series. A little A/U.

Story continues a few months after the ending of Immortality. Anthony Zuiker made a prediction of the future for Sara and Gil Grissom, which we are using for this story. Rated T for now.

February 12, 1998. The 50th Annual AAFS Conference. The Hilton San Francisco and Towers Hotel. Sara Sidle had never been to a forensic academy conference before. Sara Sidle had never invited herself up to a man's hotel room before. Sara Sidle had never spent the night with a man 15 years her senior before. But there's a first time for everything. Grissom was infatuated with the young CSI he met at the Forensic Academy Conference in the summer of 1999. Little did he know that she was about to change his world. This is the story of Gil and Sara from the day the met through to the very end. All the canon events are represented and enhanced with the imagination of what was happening off screen.

Sara is held for three days by a suspect in an old case. What does he want? Will she get out alive?

Grissom and Sara thought they had left Vegas behind once and for all. But, it seems a new killer on the scene wants to spoil that with some very unnerving blasts from the past that will thrust them into a nightmare they really don't want to be a part of. Kind of set during CSI Vegas season 2 or at least what would be that time frame.

The CSIs & LVPD detectives find themselves pushed to identify their killer before more bodies start turning up. Are they dealing with a mindless madman or is there something deeper to these kills?

What if it wasn't Warrick that left Holly Gribbs alone that night? What if Sara and Grissom were always more than 'a friend of mine from San Francisco? What might have been the change if Catherine wasn't the alpha female of the Graveyard Shift?
