Peter and Harry were at Parker Industries, about to test Flash's new prosthetic legs.

"So it was your baby and not your father's," said Flash.

"Yeah, believe me, I was just as surprised," said Harry.

"How did your father take it?" Peter asked curiously.

"He was utterly devastated."

"Well, I can't say I feel sorry for the guy after everything he put me and my family through," said Peter.

"I don't think anyone can blame you, Pete," said Flash. "Heck, he's the reason I suffered from brain damage and a bit of memory loss."

That was true when Norman, in a fit of rage, purposely caused that accident. Flash's personality regressed back to when he was in high school, along with a bit of memory loss. As such, Flash didn't remember that he was friends with Peter and began picking on him like he did in the old days.

Fortunately, Felicia stood by him, and after some long therapy sessions, he was back to normal, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

"Have you decided on a name yet?" Felicia asked.

"I was thinking Stanley Peter Osborn," said Harry, a hint of nostalgia in his voice. "It's a way to honor our family's legacy and remember our roots."

Peter smiled. "I feel honoured."

"Why Osborn and not Lyman?" Flash asked curiously.

"Well, I may have changed my name, but he was conceived before I did that," Harry shrugged.

"That's about it," said Peter as he finished calibrating the legs. "We're ready when you are Flash."

Flash smiled proudly. "Let's do this."

They had set up some railings for Flash to support himself, formally tested the legs, and Felicia stood by his side as additional support.

"Remember, this is just the first test," Peter warned. "So, only taking one step at a time and not running a marathon."

"I'll take it slow," Flash promised. "Though I never imagined I would have to learn how to walk again."

"You'll be fine, handsome," Felicia assured him.

They ran several tests, and everything went smoothly. Flash did stumble occasionally, but his unwavering determination was certainly something to admire and a source of motivation for all.

"Any issues with the legs?" Harry asked as he removed the lakes from Flash. "I mean, do they feel right, or do they make you feel itchy."

"I didn't even notice the difference between them and my original legs," said Flash honestly.

"That's good," said Peter. "And still a little concerned with the neural interface. I've managed to work out a number of the bugs, but I still say it's a ways off before we test it on a live subject."

"And this interface will help me use my legs?" Flash asked.

"If we can get it working, yes," said Peter, looking back at him. "Basically, it'll send the commands from your brain to your legs at the same speed as your original legs. The problem is doing it without altering your personality; after all, it will be linked to your brain."

"You do have a brain, right, Flash?" Harry asked.

"Very funny," said Flash dryly.

Everyone then laughed.

MJ was getting dinner ready as Peter was going through several papers from work, and the girls were busy doing their homework.

MJ could have noticed that Pete was struggling slightly. "What's the matter, Tiger?"

Peter sighed. "Just try to figure out how we're going to advertise our brand. We have to get investors if we want to hire more people; I can't let Harry do all the work; I'm swinging around the city."

"Surely you can hire someone to manage your marketing department," said MJ.

"After what happened with the Chameleon, Harry and I agreed that we needed to hire someone to handle security. We've got a few names down, but we're still trying to maintain the budget and hiring someone with our wages isn't easy." Peter's voice was tinged with regret as he recalled the incident.

"I could help you with the marketing department," MJ offered.

Peter smiled. "Thanks, Babe, but I don't want you to give up your dream because of me. Your modelling career is finally getting off the ground, and you've been offered a few acting jobs."

"Minor roles," MJ pointed out. "That movie about our life story was my biggest gig ever."

"You were great in it, Mommy!" said May.

MJ smiled at her. "Thanks, Hotshot. The director agrees with you. I have been hoping for more starring roles after that, but nothing to be the come-up that suits me."

"I'm sure something will turn up," Peter assured her. "Regardless, you have worked hard getting your career off the ground, and I don't want to ruin that."

MJ then hugged him and kissed him on the cheek. "Thanks, Tiger."

Then, they heard the sound of the doorbell ringing.

"Are we expecting someone?" Peter frowned.

"Not to my knowledge," said MJ.

MJ went and answered the door, and she found, to her surprise, Gayle and her boys.

"Gayle?" MJ stared.

"Hi, Mary, can we come in?" Gayle asked.

"Sure," said MJ stunned.

Gayle and the boys went inside, and instantly, they ran up to Peter and hugged him.

"Uncle Peter!" they cried.

Peter laughed as the boys rushed over to him. "It's nice to see you, boys."

Both May and April looked at one another, confused.

"Mama, who are they?" April asked.

MJ remembered that this was the first time the girls had seen their aunt and cousins. "That's right, you've never met. Girls, this is your Aunt Gayle and her boys, Tommy and Kevin."

After dinner, the children began playing with one another while MJ and Peter talked with Gayle.

"As much as I like the surprise visits, sis, I get the feeling that this is not a social visit," said MJ.

Gayle sighed. "When you're right, you're right, Mary. I'm afraid I need your help."

"What exactly is the problem?" Peter asked.

"It's my ex-husband," she said bitterly.

"Timothy?" MJ stared.

Peter had never met Gayle's husband, and there was a good reason. She had fallen in love with Timothy Byrnes, her high school boyfriend, and the same thing happened with him. The two of them decided to get married the moment they finished high school, much to MJ's mother's disapproval.

However, Gayle failed to heed her mother's advice, and they soon married. Timothy was trying to become a lawyer but had to juggle supporting his family and studies. It only got worse when they expected their first child, and while Gayle was excited, Timothy was less so. Then, a few years later, when Gayle was pregnant again, he abandoned them, and the two of them never saw one another again.

"Don't tell me he's come back into your life," said Peter.

"Well, apparently, not only is he a lawyer now, but he's also trying to run as Senator," said Gayle.

"I still don't see how this falls around you," MJ frowned.

"He's trying to play the old family card to get himself elected," said Gayle bitterly. "For years, he's been ignoring me, and his kids are now suddenly he's trying to get back into our lives."

"But if people found out that he abandoned his wife and his two kids, surely people would not vote for him," said MJ.

"People did vote for Jonah Jameson as mayor," Peter pointed out. "I feel he's not just trying to get back to his former wife and the boys."

"Clever as always, Peter," Gayle smiled. "You're right. He also wants to use you guys."

"Us?" MJ stared.

"You're a famous supermodel and actress, and while Peter's business is new, he has a reputation as Reed Richards' assistant. Plus, there's also the tragedy of your daughters; he wants to use that as his campaign to get elected, promising to reunite people with their families."

"Which would go down a lot easier for him if he reunited with his," Peter concluded.

"Quite," Gayle nodded. "As you might suspect, I wasn't too happy seeing him standing on my threshold. Several cameramen were paused, ready, and he probably suspected I would welcome him with open arms. Instead, I slammed the door in his face."

"Ouch," Peter winced. "I'm guessing that didn't go down well with his supporters."

"Yes, they pretty much bailed on him," Gayle nodded. "And he's taken out his frustration on me and the boys. He's been using his legal team to evict me from my house and pulled a few strings to cause me to lose my job."

"So much were childhood sweethearts," MJ sighed.

"Mary, I know I'm asking a lot, but you can mean the boys can stay here until we get back on our feet."

"Of course, you're more than welcome," said MJ, looking at Peter. "Right?"

"Of course they are," said Peter.

"I can't thank you enough," said Gayle gratefully. "I promise I'll pay you back as soon as I get a job."

"I might be able to help," said Peter.

A few days later, Gayle worked as the new marketing chief at Parker Industries.

"So we're bringing the family in on this, are we?" Harry asked.

"Gayle has the experience. You've seen her qualifications," Peter argued.

"Not disputing that, but hiring your own sister-in-law makes it look like we're hiring people with connections," said Harry.

"Your ex-wife hired her stepbrother's head of security for her company," Peter reminded him.

"All right, point taken," Harry sighed.

"Just give her a chance, Harry; you have all the people who should know how difficult it is to raise a child as a single parent, and she's got two of them."

"I trust you on this one, Pete, but I hope you know what you're doing."

Gayle then quickly approached them. "Peter! Harry! I've just come a long way in getting more investors involved in our work. So far, neither of you has published any findings in your research or advertising. If we want to get even more on board, we must show off what we're trying to accomplish and how it can benefit everyone."

"But if we advertise, it makes it seem as if we're close to solving all the bugs," Peter pointed out. "I hate to point out that we still got quite a hurdle ahead of us."

"But it will get people intrigued, which means you'll get more money and be able to hire more staff to tackle the problem. I understand we've only been able to get the assets because of the right you got from Oscorp when Osborn was arrested and a few small investors like Jay Jamison. However, that's nowhere near enough of what we need to accomplish these giant goals you have set before us."

Harry looked at Peter. "I say this, Pete, she certainly knows how to get a point around."

"Does that mean you trust me to get the job done?" Gayle smirked.

"She also has very good hearing," Peter smiled.

May and April were having fun with their cousins, playing on the PS4 they brought over.

"So mum says that one of you is a clone," said Tommy.

"Tommy," Kevin hissed.

"No, it's fine," said April. "One of us is indeed a clone of the original May, but we don't know which one of us is the clone."

"Can't Uncle Peter run tests or something?" Tommy asked.

"Not even Dr Richards knows which of us is a clone," said May.

"But you both have the same powers as your dad?" Kevin asked.

"Yep, and Papa's been teaching us," April nodded.

"You two are so lucky to have Uncle Peter as a dad; I never even got to meet my father," said Tommy, looking disappointed.

"I barely have memories of Dad as well," said Kevin. "And I can never forgive him for abandoning us."

"There was a time when I thought my parents abandoned me, so I can understand," said May.

"Uncle Peter is the closest thing we have to a father," said Tommy. "He helped us with our science homework when we were failing."

"He actually made learning seem like fun," Kevin smiled.

"He hasn't really helped us with our homework?" April blinked.

"That's because the two of you are just as clever as he is," Kevin smirked.

"How do you know?" May asked.

"Because you've just beaten us on our game," Tommy moaned.

They've been so busy talking that May and April hadn't realised they had beaten their cousins and said a new record.

Peter wished he could help Gayle settle in, but he received a message from Reed Richards. Johnny apparently was now trapped in the Negative Zone and was presumed dead, and in his last will and testimony, he asked Reed to invite him to this new Foundation he created.

"How long will you be gone?" MJ asked.

"A few days at least just to see what this Future Foundation is all about," said Peter as he changed his costume.

"What is it all about?" MJ asked curiously.

"Apparently, Reed is gathering a bunch of scientists and intellectuals to band together to solve the world's problems. I don't know who has been invited yet, but I believe it's an exclusive club."

"But you're taking the girls?" MJ frowned.

"Reed said that a few children are also involved in it, including his own, and he is more than willing to allow May and April to join. I suspect this is a subtle way of telling us that he's hoping the Foundation could ask a few questions regarding their origins."

"You mean to determine which is the clone?" said MJ.

"The girls are excited to come with, but I made it plain that they cannot share what we discuss, and they cannot fall behind on their homework."

Both May and April then ran into the room wearing masks over their faces.

"Do we have to wear these masks, papa?" April moaned.

"Sorry, sweetie, but I have to keep my secret identities secret," Peter smiled.

"But the Fantastic Four know who we are?" April protested.

"But I don't know who else will show," Peter explained. "And I want to protect our family. I told you how the nasty Green Goblin kept hurting our family because he knew who I was."

"You better get going, or you'll be late," said MJ, looking at her watch. She then notes down to the two girls. "Now you, too, play nice and do everything your father tells you, okay?"

"We promise, Mommy," May nodded.

"We'll be good," said April.

MJ smiled at her daughters and then at the two of them.

The girls then quickly clung onto their father's back, and MJ watched as they swung out of the apartment.

It didn't take them long to reach the Baxter Building, where Sue met them on the roof.

"Peter, I'm so happy you could come and bring the girls," said Sue.

"We're happy to be here, Miss Richards," said May.

"But what are we supposed to do now that we're here?" April asked.

"Why don't you go and join Franklin and Valeria? They're with the other children," said Sue.

"I thought that this Future Foundation was supposed to be a place where people would debate solutions to solve the world's problems?" April frowned.

"It is, and Franklin and Valeria will be able to tell you more," said Sue.

"Come on, April, you'll like Franklin and Valeria," said May, practically dragging April along.

Sue soon began giving Peter the entire tour and informing him of the other members of the Foundation. Not only was it the Fantastic Four, but Dragon Man, a clone of the Wizard named Bentley 23, and a few evolved Moloids.

They also gave Peter a new suit, which could be modified to his specifications, so he made it white and black.

"You got quite a gathering of intellectuals," said Peter as they descended the corridor. "To be honest, I feel very out of place here."

"Don't be Peter," Sue smiled. "Reed thinks highly of you, and you would have asked you to join even if Johnny hadn't asked to invite you."

"I am sorry to hear about Johnny," said Peter.

Sue closed her eyes. "I still find it hard to believe myself."

Peter soon set the table with everyone else, where he met Nathaniel Richards, Reed's father. Peter knows the girls were talking to Franklin and Valeria rather excitedly.

"So I understand that one of your two girls is, in fact, a clone," said Nathanial, looking at Peter.

"Yes, and we don't know which one, but I still consider them both my daughters," said Peter.

"I have to say, when Reed told me just how vile this Norman Osborn I thought he was exaggerating. Is there any reason he seems to make it his mission to hurt you, Spider-Man?"

"I have absolutely no idea," said Peter honestly. "Amino saved his son and himself a few times. I did interrupt a few of his dirty businesses, but they again done the same, and none of my enemies have ever gone after my family, not even Vemon."

"Ah, yes, the symbiont," Nathanial nodded. "I understand it's actually a living alien life form that you brought to this planet from Battle World."

"At the time, I had no idea who was alive," said Peter. "I just thought it was a high-tech suit, but when it started affecting my moods, I knew something was wrong."

"I also heard it then split into a separate entity to what is known as Carnage?"

"Yeah, and it bonded with a crazed psychopath. I'd hardly believe the damage that symbionts can do is unreal. Fortunately, they have an inherent weakness: they can't withstand loud noises like church bells."

"This proves that even the most powerful entities have an Achilles heel," Nathanial nodded.

Later that night, the girls beat Franklin in a game that Reed had invented, but then Valeria and Nathanial revealed a nasty surprise. Apparently, the two of them had invited Doctor Doom to the Foundation.

Naturally, Ben wanted to pulverise him the moment he laid eyes on him, but thankfully, Sue was able to stop it. That said, she still wasn't pleased that Doom was in that house, which is understandable, considering that he spent much time trying to destroy them.

Apparently, Doom was suffering some form of brain damage and wanted the Foundation to develop solutions. Peter surprised everyone with his intellectual knowledge, but Valeria had the solution.

She suggested using a backup to make their way to Latveria. With the aid of Kristoff Vernard, Doom's adopted son, they could restore his memories.

Later, the Foundation began devising ideas to determine which of the girls was the real May Parker.

"So, one of them is a clone, and you don't know which one," said Alex Power as they looked at the girls.

"No, the clone was made shortly after my daughter was born," Peter explained.

"Which means carbon dating is out of the question," said Bentley-23. "But you're saying the one you found in the lab actually has memories of being the original one?"

"As far as we can gather, but these can easily be implanted memories," said Reed.

"It's safe to say that the genetic degradation in the clones made by the Jackal has now been killed," said Peter.

"Their DNA is perfectly identical," said Dragon Man. "It would seem as if Norman Osborn was very thorough in creating the clone. However, I must ask what he attempted to achieve with this."

"To cause me pain; it's that simple," said Peter.

"That much is obvious, but I was referring to why create a clone in the first place. If his goal was to eliminate you, why create a clone and allow her to age normally? Moreover, if the daughter you found in the orphanages is, in fact, a clone, why leave without leaving a trail for you to follow."

"Ghost Spider was the one that found in even though she needed aid from Doom," Reed agreed.

"Norman has always been fixated on creating a true heir to his throne," said Peter. "He did that with those twins he conceived and even went as far as impregnating his son's girlfriend. Maybe he was trying to do the same with my daughter, mould her into his image."

"That is entirely possible," Bentley-23 agreed.

"However, something is interesting in the girl you found in the lab," said Dragon Man. "According to the tests we performed on the two girls, she outperformed her sister when it came to agility and strength."

"But their DNA is identical and wasn't altered in the slightest," said Peter.

"It would seem as if we have a new piece of the puzzle," said Bentley-23.

"She's not in any danger, she?" Peter asked.

"I wouldn't say so," said Reed, giving him a reassuring look. "However, we should monitor the girl and see if there are any more differences between them."

May and April were currently playing with Franklin and Valeria. They were currently playing a game Reed invented to test their IQ.

"You two are pretty good," said Valeria.

"Yeah, you're miles behind me," Franklin grumbled.

"You're not that far behind," April smiled.

"She's right, Franklin, you're doing all right," Valeria encouraged.

Franklin smiled. "I appreciate the encouragement, but I think it's clear who inherited Dad's brains."

"Actually, I'm smarter than him," Valeria smirked.

"Maybe it's because you're a girl," May smiled.

"Could be," said Valeria.

The girls laughed, and Franklin really rolled his eyes.

"So I hear your aunt and cousins are moving in with you," said Franklin.

"Yeah, our family just keeps getting bigger," said April.

"And I hope it gets bigger," said May. "I mean, I was excited that I had parents that love me, never in my dreams, and I imagined I would have a loving grandma or a caring uncle. Plus, Auntie Gwen and Auntie Felicia are fun to play with."

"And now you have a sister, even if she's a clone," said April.

"So is Uncle Ben, and Daddy considers him a brother, so why should I consider you a sister?" May smiled.

April smiled at her. "Thanks, May."

I decided to add Gayle and her family into the story as she was barely mentioned in the comics.

In other news, it is good news for all of Spider-Man fans. Zeb Wells will be leaving the comics at the end of September. We just have to hope the new writer will get things back on track.
