One doesn't think all that much about it, but I was a part of a very prestigious workplace, although people often whisper about us, and the name of the workplace being some eldritch horror-ish aberration, I couldn't help but think 'The Company' is not the best name ever for a place, but hey, I'm a new hire, and they have been around for much longer than I have, so what the hell do I know?
"Mulan." I stated when I saw her porcelain face, I had always been a Disney lover, even if this world is admittedly too dangerous for them, well, that's what the missions are for.
We were talking in the woods, where my family would not hear my talk with Mulan, in the dead of night where no one would come here.
"Yes?" She asked back as she held herself, shivering due to the cold, even though the defense should help, I forgot how China doesn't get as cold as the North, so I gave her the pelt jacket that I had with me.
"I'm thinking of sending you to a mission, apparently some woman kidnapped a baby, they asked for help, and you will handle it." I told her as she nodded.
"Do we have any information?" She asked as I nodded, showing her an image of the tower, where she was keeping Rapunzel hostage.
"She won't go without a fight, but I don't want you to kill her, maim her if you can't stop her by yourself, but the kingdom wants her for interrogation… Although if it's you I don't think she will be a problem, she's a powerless witch, and you, a soldier." I was confident in her victory, after all,Mulan was a strong lass, and Gretel… was not. She could only handle Flynn because she sneaked on him, and she wasn't even able to kill him.
The app opened a portal, and Mulan walked through it.
Now I was all alone once again.
As Gared Tuttle, there's not much people expect from me, as I'm merely a pig farmer's son, but, due to whatever reason, I can hear the trees talking, even before magic came back, even before the dragons were born. And I can… control zombies, I think? Telltale was kinda weird at the end of the game of thrones story, so it just ends withGaredbeing able to control the wights created by blood magic.
Not that it necessarily mattered, for I, as a contractor, paid up the credits necessary to stack a template onto my soul, which in this case was the Dragonborn. Most people would think that for a world like Game of Thrones, this would be overkill.
It's not. I might have made the world a lot more dangerous when I wanted to see how far the universal calibration 2 could go. Now the danger rating was of 8, which put it in the same category as a Lost Belt in Fate… Who would've thought that making A Song of Ice and Fire mixed with Fire Emblem, Fate andSkyrimwould cause such a result?
Who am I kidding? I should've seen it coming from a fucking mile away, but in my defense, I wasn't actually expecting it to work.
There are several unanswered questions due to how this worked, with my main concern being 'how strong are the dragons of Game of Thrones', as the universal calibration likely made them connected with Akatosh and Alduin, no? Or perhaps they would be considered 'fake dragons', likewyvernsare.
In any case, for some reason, likely UC2, the worlds weren't merged, merely put together, as if picking up pieces and making a new , Planetos, and the many kingdom in the stories of Fire Emblem never truly interacted with each other, likely kept that way due to the price that I paid.
I return back home, making sure to headcount the pigs as lately, they have been disappearing, my father believes wolves, but it might be Wildlings because it didn't make sense for these beings to simply disappear, they're pigs, they squeal and they make noise when afraid.
Using magicka to put up a small ward to alert me of any intruders, I went back to my bed and looked up at the ceiling, I had to stash the equipment in a hole that I marked with a spell because I had initially thought that buying the nomad option meant that I couldn't get the personal space. Apparently I was wrong, not that it mattered because I didn't have points for it either way.
The following morning, well, nothing really happened there, although my father had asked me to go forIronrath, the town where the Forrester's ruled over, as I was going to become lord Gregor's squire… Which sounded dumb, in all honesty, if only because I was, after all, the dragonborn and a wizard, not that it mattered, as long as he paid me, I would be able to procure some ingredients for my alchemy matters.
So far, the only thing that I've been carrying with me all the time was the skeleton key, if only because I have an unhealthy attachment to the damn thing due to my time playing Skyrim. I did not have a horse as I walked towardsIronrath, so it took longer than expected, even as I ran my way there.
I couldn't just stamp Lord Gregor or his family, regardless of how much it would've given me, it would be too suspicious if I had just appeared here and suddenly everyone got marks. Instead, I decided to go with the flow, and I easily found myself being faced by Royland, Lord Gregor's man at arms.
He was a strong yet angry man, who had lost his family to the squids, and he was trying to gauge how strong I was. Which is more than him, for sure. My only fault was the lack of experience in fighting, but that would be solved with the martial talent that I had.
The fight ended with him tiring before myself, as lord Gregor came to us, asking how good I was.
"He's… Pretty good my lord, got me on thebackfootand if you weren't lying to me that he had never held a sword before, then he might be the one of a kind that just knows how to fight." Admittedly, no, the template of the Dragonborn did help me know what to do when swinging a sword, so I'm not a genius like Royland tried to allude for. Not that I would correct him, of course, let them think I'm the second coming of Barristan.
The rest of the day was me shadowing lord Forrester as he explained to me my duties, which I had to hold back a sigh from unbecoming of me, I had not become a damn Contractor just to have people ordering me around as if I was lesser of them, the stamp really wanted to bring out the worst out of me, but I could try and exert a bit more of self-control and some patience over it.
It has been two days since I've sent Mulan over, she had just sent a message over to my Waifu Catalogue issued Grimoire. She had done it, as expected, I mean, what the hell is an old non-fighter woman capable of doing against a soldier?
I requested to meet her in the woods where we always meet each other to make sure what had happened there, but first, I had to wait until the night.
Which was frankly, easier than you would expect, here in the North we don't have that many hours of light in comparison to the more southern Kingdoms, so I merely had to wait for father and my sister to go sleep, before I walked into the woods, meeting my dear Mulan, and who seems to be Rapunzel.
She bowed, and I bowed back.
"You don't need to do this, lady Rapunzel, I'm far from a noble, if anything I should be the one bowing down for you." I told her as I found myself captivated by her beauty, her blond long hair that was braided nicely together with her green eyes. Her eyes twinkled as she looked at me.
"I heard that you saved me, is that so? I thought you would me much older." She stated as I shook my head.
"I sent my dear Mulan to rescue another version of yourself, so if anything you should thank her." I gestured to my Chinese companion as Rapunzel giggled.
"I already thanked her,Ser Gared." Please, it's just Gared, I beg of you. Don't give me titles I have yet to earn. And certainly don't call me that when I have no fucking clue how the other people here would react to such 'inso- No, wait.
I'm in the North, people don't care about being called Ser as much as the Southron do.
The only actual issue is figuring out how to hide them, had it been only Rapunzel, I could've just thrown around the word that she's a Southron who came North, but trying to explain where the hell Mulan even came from is… certainly an Ti men, and specially women, were very rare to see coming to Westeros, having one just appear and claim that she's here because of me, who's not even a bastard from a noble is begging for people like the Spider to spy on me. Which is detrimental for my future plans to say the very least.
"Are the two of you fine?" I asked them, as I needed to build goodwill with these two regardless of whatever the Company Binding makes them feel towards me.
"I am." "So am I." They answered as I nodded.
"I have an idea then." I told them as they looked confused.
"We need to buy a place to live, but I also need more credits, so I'm just going to take a a new mission." Which brings me again to mygrimoire.
For I needed to summon my dear fox girl and shower her with my love.
I will capture your heart,Tamano-no-Mae.
