After searching every other planet before it, Spotty reached the Planet Earth and he started the search with the Bermuda Triangle. His spotted radar still couldn't find SuperTed and the very rough wind and very heavy rain outside wasn't helping him or his rocket at all. In fact, the weather was so awful that he was starting to worry if it was too much for his lovely spotted rocket. But he never forgot that finding SuperTed was the most important thing in the universe right now because the teddy bear was the universe's only hope to be freed from Texas Pete and his empire once and for all.
Sadly, the wind and rain were too much for the spotted rocket and the engine broke down. Spotty had no choice but to prepare it for an emergency landing as it crashed into the sea. It continued to sink until it crash-landed onto the seabed.
Spotty wasn't hurt psychically, apart from a few bumps and bruises, but he was very depressed because his lovely rocket had broken down and he couldn't use it to find SuperTed. He felt that he let himself, his best friend, his family, Mother Nature and all the good people of Planet Earth, Planet Spot and the whole universe down.
Then he remembered Mother Nature's jar of special powers for SuperTed. He found it and checked it and it was completely unharmed. There wasn't even a scratch on it. He was very relieved and regained hope for finding SuperTed.
As he wondered around his rocket and pondered about how to resume his mission to find SuperTed, Spotty noticed something through his rocket windows. He saw a metal box with chains wrapped around it. He couldn't be certain that SuperTed was in it, but he remembered how the villains described it and it matched their description very accurate to him. Then he noticed the padlock on the centre of the box and he knew that he wouldn't be able to find the key to unlock and he was certain that Texas Pete either had the key with him or, even worse, destroyed it so no one could open it and free SuperTed if he was in it.
As Spotty sat down to think about what to do next, he jumped straight back up. He saw that his chair had his special spotted axe on it. He picked it up and was about to sit back down to think. Then the axe in his hand gave him an idea. It reminded him how spotted axes were the strongest axes in the whole universe. So he opened the door of his rocket – he did let the water in but it was leaking anyway and there was no way he could stop it and it was going to be fully underwater anyway – and he swam out into the ocean. He reached the metal box and chains around it. He hoped for two things. The first thing was that his special spotted axe will do the job and the second thing was that SuperTed was in that box. He whacked his axe on the padlock and it fell off. Then the chains around the box fell off. He was glad that the axe part was successful. Then he opened the box and he was delighted to see who was in it. "SuperTed! Hurray!"
The teddy bear groaned as he woke up and saw who was ahead of him. He gasped happily. "Spotty! Is it really you?"
"Yes, SuperTed, it's me," Spotty replied.
Then the two best friends hugged each other.
"Thank you so much for rescuing me, Spotty," SuperTed said.
"You're very welcome, SuperTed," Spotty said.
"And, Spotty, I am so very, very sorry for being so horrible to you in the Maldives."
"And I forgive you for that," Spotty said. "But now we must go and stop Texas Pete and his friends. They rule the whole universe now."
"I can't help, Spotty." Then SuperTed explained to his best friend about everything when he last tried to fight Tex and his evil friends and he failed to stop them and how they took his magic powers with something from Mother Nature that Tex forced her to create.
"And I met Mother Nature, SuperTed," Spotty said. "And she told me to give you this." He got out the jar.
"What is it, Spotty?" SuperTed asked.
"It's more of her special powers," Spotty said. "It should be able to help you regain your –"
Then the metal box shook violently and both SuperTed and Spotty fell out of it.
"What was that?" Spotty asked.
"Quick, Spotty!" SuperTed said. "Let's hide behind that boulder over there!"
Spotty followed SuperTed to the giant boulder and hid behind it. Then they peeked around to see what shook the box and it completely shocked them.
"What is that, SuperTed?" Spotty asked.
"I don't know, Spotty," SuperTed said. "It's not a sea creature I've seen before."
The creature looked like the Loch Ness monster, but it was more colourful and even more terrifying-looking, especially with its scary T-Rex like face and sharp white teeth.
"Could it be a sea monster, SuperTed?" Spotty asked.
"It could be, Spotty," SuperTed replied. "Or it could be a sea monster from another planet."
"How did it come from its planet to this one?" Spotty asked. "And why?"
"To answer both your questions, Spotty," SuperTed said, "I bet this is all Texas Pete's doing. I bet he had this monster brought here to Earth so it can eat both of us so we can't stop him."
"Well, the sooner you drink that potion Mother Nature made for you, SuperTed," Spotty said, "the sooner you can say your secret magic word and save us both."
"Well, I can't drink it in the water," SuperTed said. "My face needs to get out of the water so I can drink it probably. Help me get to the surface, Spotty, and then I'll drink it."
"Right," Spotty said. "Well, what are we waiting for?"
Then the boulder they were hiding behind was knocked over and they turned to see the sea monster above them.
"We need to sort this monster out first, Spotty," SuperTed said.
SuperTed and Spotty swam away from the sea monster as fast as they could, but it was faster and it caught them in its hands. The grips on both of them were so strong that they couldn't break free.
Then SuperTed realised that his feet were in the monster's hand he was in and he started to wriggle them around, which made the monster laugh.
"Why are you making this monster laugh, SuperTed?" Spotty asked.
"So I can break free from him, Spotty," SuperTed replied.
And it worked. The monster couldn't take SuperTed's feet wriggling anymore and he angrily threw the teddy bear and Mother Nature's potion into an underwater cave.
"SuperTed!" Spotty cried. Then he was brought forward to the sea monster's face. He tried to break free from the strong hand, but it was no use. And he could do was see it open its large, terrifying, disgusting mouth, lick its disgusting, sharp teeth with its disgusting, slimy brown tongue.
"Help!" Spotty cried, as he was about to enter the disgusting giant mouth.
Then the monster released Spotty. He saw why. He saw SuperTed – now in his scarlet suit and yellow rocket boots – had returned and was fighting the sea monster with his incredible strength.
After knocking the sea monster to the ground, SuperTed grabbed some loose rope nearby and tied up the monster. Then he flew to Spotty and helped him out of the monster's hand. "Come on, Spotty. We've got a universe to save."
"Right behind you, SuperTed," Spotty said.
Then the two best friends flew out of the Bermuda Triangle and flew into the sky.
"How did you managed to drink Mother Nature's potion, SuperTed?" Spotty asked.
"Simple, Spotty," SuperTed replied. "When that monster threw me and that potion into that underwater cave, there was an air pocket. So, after I reached it, I managed to drink the whole bottle, say my secret magic word and came back to rescue you."
"Thank you, SuperTed," Spotty said.
"And thank you too, Spotty, for coming to rescue me," SuperTed said. "Now, let's go and stop that terrible Tex."
"Right with you," Spotty said.
Then the two heroes left the Planet Earth and flew deeper into space. Even though they had to go and do the most important mission of their lives, they were very happy that they were best friends again and they were doing this mission together.
