SuperTed and Spotty took a quick breather to catch their breath after going through all those gears and going through that door before it shut itself quickly.

"Where are we now, SuperTed?" Spotty asked.

SuperTed looked around the giant room he and Spotty were in. He saw giant walls, with vast paintings of Texas Pete, a giant set of stairs to take them to the floors above – and there were lots of them – and a giant electric chandelier with colourful light bulbs above them.

"I think we're on the ground floor of the Space Castle, Spotty," SuperTed said. Then he saw a picture of the map on the wall. He went to it and saw that he was right.

"Don't tell me that Texas Pete's throne room is on the very top floor," Spotty said.

"I'm afraid so, Spotty," SuperTed said, pointing to it on the map. "And we can't take the lifts either."

"Why can't we take the lifts, SuperTed?" Spotty asked.

"I'll show you." Then SuperTed pressed the button for the lifts. One of them opened. Then SuperTed took off a small gear that got stuck on his cape when he and Spotty threw fast them and he threw it into the lift. Then he and Spotty saw a cage fall down in the lift before the door closed.

"That's why we can't take these lifts, Spotty," SuperTed said. "They're full of traps for us."

"So we have to walk up the stairs?" Spotty asked.

"I'm afraid so, Spotty," SuperTed said. "I can't fly because I used up all the fuel in my rocket boots."

Spotty tried his rocket pack, but it didn't work either. "I guess I used up all the fuel in my rocket pack too."

"Well, now we know the only way to reach the top is by running up these stairs," SuperTed said, "let's get going. We haven't much time."

Then the two heroes ran up the stairs. They were very big and it tired them a lot, but they kept on running because the universe was counting on them to save it.

"Spotty, stop," SuperTed said.

Spotty was glad so he could stop because he needed a breather after running up so many stairs, but he didn't rest for long, because SuperTed quickly grabbed him and they ran to hide in a room.

SuperTed did that because he could hear someone coming and he saw that he was right. It was Polka Dot Face walking by. It appeared that he was on guard duty on the floor they were on. Soon he moved passed the room the heroes were hiding in and he was gone.

"Come on, Spotty," SuperTed said. "Let's get going and –"

"SuperTed, come and check this out quickly," Spotty said.

The teddy bear turned around and saw what his best friend was seeing. It was a giant computer screen on the wall and it showed them a map of the whole universe. They were very shocked to learn that all the planets, moons, stars and satellites in the universe were under the rule of Emperor Texas Pete and all the peoples in the universe were either enslaved to do very hard labour or imprisoned in one of Tex's large, cruel, evil space prisons with the most abusive prison guards that ever existed in the universe.

"We got to free them, Spotty," SuperTed said.

"But how?" Spotty asked.

"It's simple. When we go to his throne room, we find Tex and knock him off his throne. Then all the planets, the moons, the stars, the satellites and all the peoples in the universe will be free."

"We have a better idea."

SuperTed and Spotty turned to see Dr. Frost and Pingy holding their ice guns at them.

"If you want to see the emperor himself," Dr. Frost said, "we can take you to him."

"By freezing us?" SuperTed asked.

"If you want to see the emperor, it's the only way," Dr. Frost said.

"No, it's not," Pingy said.

"Oh, yeah?" Dr. Frost said. "And what's your better idea?"

"We just take them to Emperor Tex unfrozen," Pingy said.

"What, so they can escape from us? Oh, that's a good idea."

"Thank you, sir," Pingy said.

"I was being sarcastic, Pingy!" Dr. Frost snapped.

"Oh, good," Pingy said.

"No, that's not good, you –" Dr. Frost groaned and then managed to calm down. "Look, let's just freeze them so we can take them to Emperor Tex and then we'll be rewarded."

"Okay. What will the reward be?"

"Let's do our job first and then see what the reward will be later," Dr. Frost said.

"Right," Pingy said.

But when the two villains turned to freeze SuperTed and Spotty, they saw that the two heroes weren't there anymore.

"Where'd they go, boss?" Pingy asked.

SuperTed and Spotty managed to sneak out of the room when Dr. Frost and Pingy argued. They knew they had no time to waste and they needed get straight to Tex. But before they could run up the stair steps that would take them to the top floor, they saw there were giant bubbles around. SuperTed knew what this was – the work of Bubbles the Clown.

"Be careful of these bubbles, Spotty," SuperTed warned. "Don't let them touch you. You'll get trapped in them."

SuperTed and Spotty carefully avoided the bubbles and they walked up the steps. SuperTed saw Bubbles still blowing his bubbles and his dog Sparky was with him. He and Spotty hid in the corner.

"What's your idea for getting past him, SuperTed?" Spotty asked.

SuperTed thought and had an idea. "Make barking noises, Spotty."

Spotty did and SuperTed joined him, while looking at Bubbles and Sparky.

"Did you say something, Sparky?" Bubbles asked.

There were more barking noises coming but not from Sparky.

"This means there's more dogs out there," Bubbles said. "And we'd better go and find them and sort them out."

"Would you like me to hold your bubble stick while you go and look for them?"

"Oh, thank you." Bubbles gave the stranger his bubble stick and then he and Sparky went to find these 'other dogs.' Then he realised what he just did. The stranger he just gave SuperTed his bubble stick. Then he and Sparky ran to charge for SuperTed, but the teddy bear quickly blew bubbles and trapped Bubbles and Sparky in them.

Then SuperTed threw the bubble stick away. "Come on, Spotty. Onto the top floor."

Spotty followed him.

SuperTed and Spotty managed to reach the top floor and they managed to find the Throne Room. But they hid in the corner when they saw Julius Scissors and his hairmongers were guarding the Throne Room doors.

"How are we going to get pass them, SuperTed?" Spotty asked.

SuperTed thought and quickly came up with an idea. "Start arguing with me, Spotty."

"Pardon?"

"Are you deaf? I said, start arguing with me!" Then SuperTed gave his best friend a wink.

Spotty quickly understood the message and winked back to his best friend. "Oh, if you want an argument, I will give you an argument!"

SuperTed and Spotty turned to see Julius Scissors and his hairmongers leaving the Throne Room doors and approaching them. The teddy bear's plan was working.

"Oh, yeah? What are you going to argue about?"

"Oh, I don't know!" Spotty snapped. "What do you want to argue about?"

"How about the place you're hiding at the ground floor?" SuperTed said.

"Hairmongers, down to the ground floor at once!" Julius Scissors ordered, leading his men to down the stairs.

"Quick, Spotty," SuperTed said. "To the throne room now!"

SuperTed and Spotty ran to the doors of the throne room, but before they could touch them, they were taken over by a purple cloud and they immediate collapsed and fell unconscious.
