AN: If I were JKR, it would be a surprise to both of us.

You may have noticed that the Diggory's have a different way of thinking than the Weasleys. This is on purpose. This of course goes against a lot of Harry's thinking, because it goes against all that he has been taught about the right way to wizarding life that he has been taught. However, besides a bit of a minor elitist mindset and a different belief system, people like a lot of the same things. That is the reason for the Quidditch chapter of last time. Harry is also finding a lot of fairy or children's tales are different in the wizarding world, though some are the same. Here is something that Harry, and readers, will find: if you step away from Albus Dumbledore's shadow, you will find different views and beliefs. As Harry is somewhat stepping away from Albus Dumbledore as a step of healthy independence away from his neglectful relatives, this will happen.

Finding independence also means knowing what to believe and hold on to and what to let go of.

Also, I do not see Cedric finding a person floundering around in his world, now that he has to live with the person, and willing to let it be like that. He's not trying to brainwash the kid. He's explaining what he's been taught growing up.

Also, my version of Snape in this story is the beginning of the first lesson in the movie. Seriously, watching that made me want to get taught by Snape.
