An Unexpected Meeting

"Albus, we have a problem."

Severus Snape stood tall and black against the vibrant colours surrounding him and the white-washed walls in the Headmaster's office. In his hands, he held a glass vial filled with a brilliant green tone.

The Headmaster looked up from his desk at the tall, dark figure before him.

"What's the problem, Severus?"

"Unless you're planning on killing of the Order, we will all have to take an anti-poisoning draught, and some might need to take more than one."

Albus startled.

"Severus! Whatever do you mean?"

"The house is killing us by the wall paper. Yeah, Black and the wolf have been hurriedly painting over the walls, but it will be a temporary stop gap at best; it will have to be done again within several months time. I was reminded a few days ago that old houses like that one often had poisonous wall paper, so I tested the wall paper there. Maybe the Order can stay for the remainder of the summer, but after that, I would kick them all out, and move Black, unless you want him even more deranged than he already is."

"Surely it's not as bad as all that. I mean, the Black's have lived there for decades."

"Everyone knows that the Black madness is not just rumour. See the examples of Walburga and Bellatrix Lestrange. Sirius left at fifteen, Regulus died three years later, Orion died of poison, and Walburga stayed and went mad. Bellatrix went and visited many times after Orion died, and I know this because she would talk about it. Kreacher is insane as well. Are you wanting us to be all the crazy unsteadiness of a modern day berserker?"

"It is as bad as all that?"

"It will be unless we heal everybody."

"Right. Best get on with it. We need to be level headed, and the poor woman isn't. Fine, fine, I take it that is the potion?"

"No, this was the proof if you refused to see it otherwise."

"I suppose I will accompany you to your lab so I can take it then. The walk will be good for me."
