AN: I do not own Harry Potter. And I'm back.
Letters
Dear Padfoot,
I miss you. I am looking forward to living with you full time in summer.
How are your renovations going? Is there anything new happening with that? (Hopefully not another thing that would be a headache to get rid of)
I am looking forward to your next letter.
Sincerely,
Harry Potter

Dear Harry, Pup,
I am glad to hear from you as well. How are things at Hogwarts? Is that new teacher still being okay?
That portrait is no longer disturbing the peace of those in the living area of that old place. There has been found a job for weak little me and my best friend. Most of the parchments and tomes from that place are so full of the poison that we are having to copy the parchments. Since this is the Black family and many of them have anti-copying runes in the bindings, we are having to copy them by hand while wearing protective gear. While we would not dare practice many of the spells in these tomes, there is so much information that I needed to survive as an auror that I could not find any place else, because the ministry has banned printing this information. My thought is why ban the knowledge to the law abiding citizens trying to protect themselves when the really dangerous ones they are bringing in are making full use of this knowledge because they have this knowledge at a safe location or is found on the street in Nocturn. So we are saving what we can.
Stay safe, or stay alive.
Sincerely,
Padfoot

Dear Padfoot,
Our new DADA teacher is now also our Headmistress as Dumbledore is no longer Headmaster. In one way, we wish he was still here because she's running this place very strictly. Also, despite not being the best teacher, it's like she suddenly got worse over Christmas break. At least she's not found out about our extra class yet. I guess that's called "be careful what you wish for; you might get it."
Did I tell you that Draco Malfoy has suddenly been a lot nicer? Well, he's not as bad(and yes, he and Ron still fight all the time), but we're at least allies for now. However, Crabbe and Goyle are more friendly and will get on with Ron. I also get that their families are not feuding, though I don't really get it.
Snape is still as snappish as ever, but at least he's not picking on any one person anymore. It actually makes quite the difference in the classroom for us Gryffindors, though that does mean that the Slytherins are also feeling the heat now. He's also making more teaching comments, which I write down in my messy chicken scratch, because at least that is something that I can get clearly.
I was told to tell you that my clothes are getting to small and I need a new prescription for my glasses. (There, is that good enough, Hermione?)
I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Harry Potter
Two grown men were sitting around the kitchen table looking at their mail.
"Suddenly got worse? Moony, is it just me or does that sound suspicious to you?"
"That does sound suspicious."
"I think those communication mirrors we used in detention would be a good idea."
"We might want to recalibrate one, because it's set up to his dad, not him."
Dear Pup,
I have sent you something. From the sounds of it, she might be the kind of person to start censoring your mail if she's suddenly worse once she's in a position of authority. As I am not legal, I am sending you one of my pair of communication mirrors. When you get it, say my name, and mine will hum, letting me know that you are wanting to talk. To answer, I will say your name, and mirror part will no longer show ourselves, but each other, and we can talk through them like telephones as well. Just be careful to not break it.
I'll be waiting for you to call after dinner.
Sincerely,
Padfoot
