Sarah, contending over the imminent death of her terminally ill father, receives a proposition that sounds too good to be true. Sarah's university graduation is nigh, but nobody will be there for her big day. Heartbroken and abandoned, she makes a drunken wish for someone to celebrate with her after noticing a barn owl appearing at her window. When the Goblin King answers her wish, they both find that, perhaps, they are the missing pieces from each others' lonely lives.
