Frozen belongs to Disney
Chapter 16
Anna stirred and blinked groggily a few times, then glanced around the unfamiliar room and its abundant natural light. Her arm and shoulder practically numb from the chilly air, she pulled the warm covers up a bit more, and with a sense of vulnerability, realized she was completely naked. Then she realized someone lay next to her. The previous night came rushing back as she fully woke up.
"Holy crap," she thought as she remembered Elsa between her thighs, Elsa straddling her face, the warmth of her juices on her cheek. Her hand went to the spot where it had landed, and she looked over at the blonde's peaceful, serene expression as she slept. "Holy crap."
She tensed up for a moment. One day, probably soon, she would have to tell people, Punzie, her parents… but for now, it was just her and Elsa. She snuggled closer and brushed a few stray strands of blonde from the beautiful visage. Elsa's eyes squeezed, then opened, and the icy blue captivated Anna, drew her in. Elsa's lips parted in a smile to reveal her perfectly straight teeth.
"Morning," she said. It was so pure; Elsa saw her first thing upon waking up, and smiled. A warm, fuzzy feeling spread from the top of Anna's head all the way down to tips of her toes.
"Morning yourself," she said. "So… that happened."
"Yeah it did," Elsa said, then her expression grew more serious. "You're okay, right?"
Anna nearly laughed out loud.
"Uh, better than okay. That was… wait, what time is it?" she asked.
Elsa rolled over to look at the digital clock on the night table.
"Almost eight thirty," she replied.
"Crap, I have practice," Anna said as threw off the cover and practically leapt out of bed.
"When?" Elsa asked. She sat up with the cover held tight to her chest as she blinked the sleep from her eyes.
"In like… thirty-five minutes," Anna replied. She paused at the sight of her underwear next to Elsa's below the television.
"That's cute," she thought. Then she grabbed hers and pulled them on.
Elsa paused for a second.
"We can make it," she said as she also threw the covers off. Anna stopped hopping with one leg in her jeans to stare unblinking at Elsa's back and rear as she headed to the bathroom, then she shook her head and continued dressing. The water ran, and Elsa, still nude, emerged with a toothbrush in her mouth, and Anna's eyes flicked for an instant to the patch of slightly darker blonde between her legs. She sidled past her and couldn't help running her fingers along Elsa's flat stomach as they traded spots in front of the bed. Elsa laughed and made a grab for her jeans but Anna danced away. In the bathroom, she splashed some ice-cold tap water on her face and used one of the hotel's provided toothbrushes to freshen up. By the time she emerged, Elsa was wearing her favorite grey hoodie and jeans, and had just traded the cup of water she'd used to rinse for her car keys.
"Ready?" she asked. Anna nodded and slipped into her shoes, then they took the elevator to the lobby.
"Wait, food," Elsa said as they hurried past the restaurant serving buffet breakfast.
"No time," Anna said.
"Don't be ridiculous, you can't practice on an empty stomach," Elsa said.
She ran into the restaurant and emerged with a pair of croissants. A minute later, Anna pressed back in her seat as Elsa accelerated onto the interstate, bound for Arendelle University. Anna munched on her buttered bread and gave a silent thanks for Elsa's foresight. She didn't have anything to wash it down with, but reasoned she could drink as much water as she wanted once they got to campus. Images of a lazy, post sex buffet breakfast crossed her mind, laughing with Elsa in the sunny restaurant on the hotel's first floor.
"Damn. Maybe next time," she thought. Then she spent the rest of the ride trying to figure out what to say.
"What do you say after something like that?" she thought. She considered, then discarded, about a dozen different things, until they pulled into the parking lot outside her dorm at the top of the hill.
"Now or never," she thought.
"I'm sorry it was such a rush this morning-"
"It's okay," Elsa said as she put the car in park.
"Last night was… it really was… I had a great, great time, and I want to see you again, soon. Um," Anna said.
Elsa smiled.
"What's your schedule like today?" she asked.
"Err, practice, and a little bit of studying. I have most of the afternoon off, I think… yeah," Anna replied.
"Okay, I'll think of something to do. Go, I'll make a U-turn," Elsa said.
Anna hustled into the dorm to grab her equipment. Luckily, her pads were already in her bag, so all she had to do was zip it up and run back downstairs to the parking lot. She shoved her bag and sticks into the back seat, then strapped in as Elsa ferried her down to the rink at the bottom of the hill.
"Seven minutes, you can still make it onto the ice in time," Elsa said.
"Thanks to your awesome driving," Anna said. Elsa smirked in response.
In a moment of recklessness, Anna leaned over and gave Elsa a peck on the cheek, then stepped out of the car to pick up her equipment. On the way into the rink, she glanced back to wave. Elsa's stunned expression and hand on her cheek caused her to nearly giggle, but she managed to keep it to a smile as Elsa slowly returned her wave. With the heavy load slung over her shoulder, Anna walked as quickly as she could past the lockers and deserted rental counter. Some of the girls were already on the ice as she stepped into the locker room. Rapunzel snapped her helmet straps into place as Anna stripped down, but she paused as she realized Punzie was staring at her. Anna looked over questioningly, to which Rapunzel removed a glove and swiped her thumb over Anna's neck, just below her jawline.
"You have lipstick. On your neck," she whispered. She stared at Anna with knowing eyes that demanded explanation.
"Crap," Anna thought.
"I'll tell you later. I have to get out there or Coach is going to have my ass in a sling," Anna said as she pulled on her hockey pants and tied them up.
Rapunzel nodded suggestively.
"Yeah?" she asked. Anna rolled her eyes, then she couldn't help herself; she smiled.
"Yeah," she replied.
"Yeah!" Punzie said with a grin and a little fist pump. She turned to walk out to the rink and gave Anna a thumbs up as she crossed the threshold. Anna managed to get on the ice with enough time to stretch for a full minute, and as the whistle blew, she snapped her helmet straps in place.
"Stupid, can't believe I missed that lipstick," she thought as she recalled washing her face but apparently not the side of her neck. "Whatever, you were going to tell Rapunzel anyway. I wonder what Elsa has planned for later…"
Elsa alternated between recalling bringing Anna over the edge, her first time with a woman, then falling asleep in her arms, and admonishing herself over her stupid recklessness.
"What were you thinking," she said, "sure, it worked out last night, but one slip up, just one…"
For a few very brief hours though, she had been happy, truly happy. A little voice inside her told her that she shouldn't look to another person to make herself feel happy, but she shoved it away and basked in the moment. Anna's little mannerisms came back to her, how nervous she had been, how she had tapped the hair tie against her bracelet, and Elsa smiled as she lost herself in memory, until the car behind her honked. She looked up at the green light and her tires screeched for a split second as she slammed her foot down on the accelerator.
"Focus on driving," she thought. She made it back to the hotel without further incident, and stopped by to catch the end of buffet breakfast for a platter of sliced meat, those that remained, and some yogurt and muesli. She brought a glass bottle of orange juice back to her room; housekeeping had been by while she was out, and as she saw the bed, she paused to again recall the events of the previous evening.
"You're dating Anna. It's really happening," she thought as she picked up a pillow and sat down in the desk chair to hug it to her chest. "Oh no. You need to come up with a date for this afternoon."
After just thirty seconds, a great idea struck her. She just needed to check with the concierge and the front desk…
"Okay, spill," Rapunzel said. Anna hadn't even sat down at the table with her tray. They had stopped by the dining hall on the way back to their dorm for brunch, and their equipment sat in the corner beneath the windows, more or less out of the way.
"Could I like… eat something first?" Anna asked as she sat down.
"No," Rapunzel replied. Anna glared at her and she rolled her eyes.
"Fine, whatever, if you want to do the unimportant stuff first," Punzie said. Anna knew the curiosity practically had her bursting, and she took time to spread jam on her bread before taking a bite.
"Mmm, delicious," she said as she chewed slowly.
"Okay seriously, if you don't start soon, I'm going to explode," Rapunzel said.
Anna chuckled, then leaned forward. Rapunzel grinned and copied her conspiratorial motion, only she put her elbows on the table and laced her fingers below her chin.
"Elsa and I had a date last night," she said. Rapunzel nodded eagerly; she had already deduced this. "Dinner, and then we went back to her hotel room. One thing led to another…"
Punzie blinked.
"Wait, seriously?" she asked. Anna nodded.
"She drove me back this morning, that's why I was almost late," Anna said.
Rapunzel stifled a squeal with both hands as her shoes tapped on the ground.
"That's amazing!" she said.
"I know, but keep your voice down," Anna whispered. Rapunzel clamped her mouth shut and looked around.
"That's amazing," she whispered, "and also really fast." Anna grinned and nodded.
"I wasn't expecting it, at all. It just kind of… happened," she said.
"So you two are official now?" Punzie asked.
"I guess? But keep it to yourself, you're obviously the first person to know and I don't know if Elsa wants to keep it quiet for a little while or what," Anna said.
Rapunzel mimicked a zipper closing her mouth.
"So… seems she really likes you…" Rapunzel asked.
"Yeah," Anna replied, "I mean I think so. She must, right? It all happened so fast… but it was really, really fun. We're supposed to see each other again later today."
"Jeez, you don't mess around," Rapunzel said.
"Very funny," Anna said.
"So what's she like? I mean what's she really like?" Punzie asked.
Anna leaned back, then bit her lip in concentration.
"She's… quiet and reserved most of the time. There's some stuff from her past that's messed up and she's not okay to talk about, but… I don't know, every time we hang out, I just want to get to know her even more," Anna said.
"Somebody call U-Haul," Rapunzel said.
Anna rolled her eyes, but when her thoughts turned to moving in with Elsa, seeing her day by day, in quiet moments when she wasn't aware Anna was watching, a warm feeling spread throughout her belly.
"Oh shit," Anna said as reality dawned.
Rapunzel looked at her questioningly.
"What am I going to tell my parents?" she said.
Rapunzel made a 'pff' sound.
"To get over it?" she said.
Anna smirked, but it was more complicated than that. Her father was paying part of her tuition, and she couldn't hope to afford the whole thing on her own.
"What if he tells me to break up or he'll kick me out?" she thought. She didn't think he would do something like that, but it also wasn't outside the realm of possibility.
"Hey. One thing at a time," Rapunzel said. Anna pulled herself together and nodded. She was putting the cart before the horse.
"Who knows, you might completely screw things up this afternoon," she thought.
"Yeah, who knows what'll happen tomorrow, or even later today," Anna said. "Text you for dinner if I'm around?"
"I'm hanging out with Flynn later, but good luck, let me know how it goes," Rapunzel replied.
On her way back to her dorm, Anna's phone chirped and she flipped it open.
"Had lunch? Pick you up in an hour," Elsa wrote. Anna pressed the number pad with her thumb to tap out a response.
"Ate. OK."
Then she pressed send. In her room, she emptied her bag on the spare bed to let her equipment dry, then finally put on fresh clothes.
"Should I wear makeup?" she thought. She didn't usually, but then she recalled just how much of a mismatch they had been the previous night and decided to put on a little bit of eyeliner just in case.
A knock sounded on the door, and there was Elsa, still in her grey hoodie. Her hair was damp; clearly she'd gone back to her room and showered.
"Hi," she said.
"Hi yourself. Are we heading out?" Anna asked as she slipped on her shoes.
"Yes. Bring your skates," Elsa said. Anna raised an eyebrow.
"We're going skating?" she asked.
"You'll see," Elsa replied with a small smile.
Anna tied the still-wet laces of her skates together, checked the blade guards, threw on her jacket, and slung the skates over her shoulder. She followed Elsa out to the parking lot, and they headed off on a drive.
"I checked with the concierge; there's a river we can skate on," Elsa said.
"Like… skate down the river and back?" Anna asked.
Elsa nodded.
"Does that work?" she asked.
"Sure," Anna replied.
They turned off onto a smaller road, and then Elsa came to a stop in a gravel parking lot above a pair of metal docks. During the summer, they were apparently used by a canoe and kayaking company to launch from, but the sheds were closed and locked up, and what Anna assumed were overturned canoes lay under large, green tarps. Snow covered portions of the frozen river, but the center, where Anna figured the wind blew the most, was free of powder or drifts. Elsa switched off the engine and picked up her skates from the back seat. They walked down past brown tree branches to the beach and the pair of docks that extended out into the frozen water. The metal clanked under their feet as they walked to the end, where Elsa sat down, looked around for a moment, then removed her shoes and tucked them into the side of the dock.
"Err… are you sure it's safe?" Anna asked as she sat down next to her.
"You mean is the ice thick enough?" Elsa asked, and Anna nodded. "It's been cold for weeks. We'll be fine."
She seemed supremely confident, so Anna laced up her own skates, then tucked her sneakers and skate guards into the side of the dock just as Elsa had. She worried for a second about someone taking her shoes, but then figured the place was deserted, and nobody would be stealing her broken down old sneakers with the soles falling off. Elsa stood up first and walked through or skated around patches of snow to a clearer area. She pulled brown wool gloves out of her pocket and slipped them on, then waved Anna in.
"I'm coming, I'm coming…" Anna said. She stood up and took a tentative step. The ice was bumpy, nowhere near what she was used to, not even at the end of a game after a dozen players had been cutting and turning for the past hour and a half. She stomped her skate a few times; it seemed solid enough.
"There's no way this ice is breaking, trust me," Elsa said. She held out a hand, and Anna skated over to her and took it. Elsa's fingers, slender behind the woolen barrier, interlaced with hers. They turned upstream, though the ice was flat as far as Anna could tell. The sun slanted in from their left, and they skated past brown trees with the occasional abandoned nest high in the branches, green pines, and the odd riverside home or county park.
"This is actually a really good idea," Anna thought, and she squeezed Elsa's hand. Her stomach flipped when she received a squeeze in return, followed by a sidelong glance from the blonde. Anna's heart fluttered as they skated up the wintry landscape, past a shuttered golf course, and beneath an overpass. The river made a few twists, and Elsa pointed to a log near the shore in a more secluded section. The sun shone down and glittered off the ice and snow, and they skated over, brushed some snow off the bark, and took a seat. Frozen into the water, the fallen tree trunk didn't budge at all, and Anna took her hat off to cool down a bit. The light breeze quickly chilled her ears but she didn't care; it felt good.
"I've lived like, twenty minutes from here my entire life, and I have never skated on a river, or even a pond," Anna said.
Elsa smiled.
"I used to skate on a lake near my home town," she said, but then her smile faded. "Um… so, have you told anyone yet? Rapunzel?"
Anna's cheeks grew warm.
"Oh… yeah, she figured it out. Turns out I had some of your lipstick on my neck and… yeah," Anna said.
"Oh," Elsa said. Anna thought she might have been a bit disappointed. "Well, you were going to tell her eventually anyway."
Anna nodded.
"I know," she said.
"Though I'd kinda hoped it would be just the two of us knowing about it for a little longer. Oh well," she thought.
She stared off at the tree line at the far side of the river. When she turned back to Elsa, she found lips against hers, and her eyes fluttered shut. Soft and moist, Elsa's lips caressed hers, made her heart thump in her chest, and a gloved hand crept up her back to cradle her head. She cupped Elsa's cheeks with her palms, then slid them back to stroke her ears, and then her neck. Her hands wandered as she shifted to get more comfortable, but their lips never parted, not to end the kiss, nor to allow their tongues past their teeth. There, warmed by the wintry afternoon sun, Anna kissed Elsa and let herself be kissed for what felt like an hour, and she didn't want it to end. Elsa's glove found its way to her thigh, then slid to her inner thigh, and heat bloomed between Anna's legs. She shifted again; they couldn't possibly do anything here, outside, could they? Elsa kissed her once more, then pulled back. Anna licked her lips to clear them of the gloss or lipstick Elsa was wearing, and took a few steadying breaths.
"Wow," she said. Elsa smiled for a brief second, then put her arm around Anna to pull her close, body to body, thigh to thigh, and they stared as the sun touched the top of the trees and reflected off the ice and snow. Her thoughts turned to what life might be like with Elsa in it… permanently.
"Would she stay in the US? Could I fly to Norway?" Anna thought. "She said she was worried that this is just some kind of fling for me… but it's totally not."
She tapped the heel of her skate blade into the ice to chip away a small divot.
"And if it's not… then I should be okay letting people know we're dating. Be like… 'Hands off! She's mine'," she thought with a smirk, and she pulled Elsa tighter. "But that also means telling Mom and Dad. Oh God."
Elsa leaned her head over until it tapped the side of Anna's.
"Everything okay?" she asked.
"Yeah," Anna replied.
"Come on. Do you want to really be with her or not? Be honest. Tell her what's bothering you," she thought.
"It's just… I'm gonna have to tell my parents. About us," Anna said.
Elsa froze for a second, then nodded. Anna took a deep breath.
"I don't know what they're going to say. My dad's super conservative and strict, and my mom… she just kind of does whatever my dad says," Anna said.
"Conservative, meaning…?" Elsa asked.
Anna sighed, and Elsa's glove moved to her shoulder to give her a small rub.
"Meaning he's totally not accepting of… gays, and stuff," Anna said. "We actually got into a big fight over Christmas. I didn't want to tell you at the time because… well you were going through a lot and…"
Elsa stiffened next to her.
"I don't want to cause any trouble," she said.
"Oh, no, believe me, this has nothing to do with you. It's completely between me and my parents. It's just… I don't know how they're going to react," Anna said.
She sighed again.
"I mean I live with them; I don't have a place of my own. Plus, my dad pays part of my tuition, so…" she said, then shook her head.
"You don't have to tell them," Elsa said.
"I feel like I do though. I mean, I'm gonna have to tell them eventually, right?" Anna said.
Elsa bit her lip and looked down at the ice.
"Whatever you want to do, I'm with you, a hundred percent," she said, and Anna squeezed her fingers through the glove. "And if it becomes an issue, the tuition, a place to stay…"
Anna shook her head vigorously.
"No. No way, I can't ask you to pay for me like that," she said.
"I'm not asking to… I'm just saying… it's an option. If it comes down to it," Elsa said.
Anna struggled for a few seconds with a response.
"Thank you," she finally said. What else could she say? She cast around for something to fill the void. "On the bright side, he's also super into hockey, and he knows who you are just from watching the games, so we've got that going for us. Plus, I can't tell you how many times he told me to find a rich guy to marry." Her eyes widened, "n-not that I'm thinking about anything like that, I swear. Sometimes my mouth just talks by itself and my brain takes a minute to catch up and…"
She put her face in her hands and wondered if it was possible to die from embarrassment. She felt an arm around her shoulder.
"It's okay. S-sometimes I do the same thing," Elsa said. Anna looked up, then grinned as chuckles bubbled up from somewhere inside. The both of them shared a laugh, and Anna rested her head on Elsa's shoulder. They fell quiet for a moment, then Anna shifted so she could hold Elsa's hand in both of hers. She stroked the back of the glove with her fingertips, then lifted her head to look down at Elsa's hand in hers.
"Why… what happened, that you don't want to… use your hands?" Anna asked. Elsa seemed to shrink next to her as she hunched her shoulders and lowered her head slightly. "I mean… you're okay with gloves, and you can stickhandle like nobody I've ever seen…"
"I…" Elsa said, and her hand started to close.
"Hey, it's okay," Anna said as she kept stroking Elsa's hand. "Forget I asked."
She kept stroking Elsa's hand, and then moved to massage her fingers one by one, starting with her thumb. She wanted to hold hands with her, to really hold hands, without the barrier of a wool glove in the way. Their positions reversed; Elsa leaned her head against Anna's shoulder, and Anna decided to be selfish and push a little bit. She spread her knees far enough to let Elsa's hand rest in the space between her legs, then turned Elsa's hand palm-up and held her wrist loosely against her thigh. She looked at Elsa's face and, by touch alone, slowly tugged the top of the glove down over her wrist. Elsa stiffened, sat up, and stared into her eyes with a mix of trepidation and fear. Anna licked her lips and rolled the glove down a little bit more to expose half her palm. She figured Elsa could stop her whenever she wanted, so she ran a single finger over the fleshy bit by Elsa's thumb, and the blonde shuddered and closed her eyes for a second as breath escaped her.
"That's a good sign," Anna thought as she fixated on Elsa's trembling lip. She looked down and tugged the glove from her thumb, loosening it. One by one, finger by finger, Anna tugged the wool up and halfway off, while Elsa breathed unsteadily next to her. She ran a finger over Elsa's palm, again drawing out a shudder and an exhale, then slowly pulled the glove all the way off until it lay flaccid in her lap, while Elsa's open hand trembled in her grasp. She ran her fingers over Elsa's palm.
"Anna," Elsa whispered, and she looked over to see creases in Elsa's forehead.
"Shh, it's okay," she said. She stared at Elsa as she slowly slipped her hand in and interlaced their fingers. Aside from the momentary expression of alarm that flashed across Elsa's face, the thing that struck Anna the most was how soft and how small Elsa's hand was. Both Hans and Kristoff's hands had all but engulfed hers, but Elsa's was delicate, and they fit together perfectly. Elsa took a sharp breath and held it, then looked down at their hands and let out a shuddering exhale. When she looked up, tears glistened in her eyes, and pure emotion marred her features.
"I've wanted to hold your hand for so long," she whispered.
"You can. It's okay. You can hold my hand whenever you want," Anna said.
Elsa shook her head and leaned in towards Anna, and the redhead used her other hand to cup the Elsa's cheek.
"Thank you," Elsa whispered, and tears spilled out and onto Anna's fingers. Little jolts of electricity shot through her as Elsa stroked her thumb along, and she gave her a squeeze of appreciation, then repeated the gesture. She wasn't sure what had happened in Elsa's past, but Anna was aware enough to know that getting to hold Elsa's hand was a big deal. They sat like that until the sun was fully hidden by the trees, and the air grew chillier with the coming of twilight.
"We'd better head back," Elsa said. Anna nodded. They stood up and Anna stretched, her legs stiff from sitting on the log for so long. Elsa replaced her glove then took Anna's hand again.
"Looks like she's not comfortable enough to hold hands while skating without gloves," Anna thought. "Baby steps. More importantly, how are you going to tell Mom and Dad?"
