Hey, dear readers!
After watching into the NieRVer1.1a anime adaptation and reminiscing about my time playing the game, I couldn't help but ask myself how would 2B fare in a world like Danmachi. So, i decided to merge these two awesome series and write a crossover fanfic!
Feedback is greatly appreciated, since I'm still exploring the direction this story will take. If you have any ideas, please share them in the review section!

Chapter 1: a wilted Tear.
The sky above the desolate ruins was a bleak, gray expanse, illuminated only by the distant flashes of explosions. Amid the wreckage of a once-thriving world, 2B fought with all her remaining strength. Her movements were strained, her attacks hampered by the logic virus that plagued her systems. Her black dress, once pristine, was now tattered and stained, and her once-perfectly maintained combat proficiency was faltering.
She faced two rogue YoRHa units, their attacks relentless and merciless. Each blow sent shudders through her, making it harder for her to keep up. Despite her best efforts, the virus's grip on her was tightening, making her efforts increasingly futile.
Just as 2B seemed on the brink of being overwhelmed, a familiar figure appeared—A2. With precision and resolve, A2 engaged the rogue units, her blade flashing with deadly accuracy. The rogue YoRHa units, caught by surprise, fell swiftly to A2's superior combat skills. Their deactivated forms collapsed beside 2B, their threat neutralized.
As the dust settled, 2B struggled to rise, her breath coming in ragged gasps. She looked up at A2, her vision blurred. A2's gaze fell on 2B's red eyes—an unmistakable sign of the logic virus's influence.
"2B, your eyes…" A2 began, her voice a mix of shock and concern.
"I guess this is it," 2B said softly, her voice barely more than a whisper. She extended her arm, presenting the Virtuous Contract—her sword. "Take this. It's… my memories. Everything I've experienced. I'm… I'm too far gone."
A2 took the sword with a solemn nod, understanding the gravity of the moment. She then raised her own blade, and with a swift, precise motion, 2B was impaled through the chest by A2's sword. The air was thick with the weight of their shared history and unspoken emotions.
9S was running across a bridge, driven by a growing sense of dread. His face was set in grim determination as he navigated the crumbling structure.
Reaching the edge of the bridge, 9S looked down and his heart dropped. He saw A2 standing over 2B's motionless form. The sword, the Virtuous Contract, was embedded deep in 2B's chest. The sight was a visceral blow, each detail imprinted in his mind with excruciating clarity.
His gaze locked onto 2B, and he saw her lips move in a faint whisper. "Oh, Nines," she said, her voice strained and weak, a final, heart-wrenching acknowledgment.
2B's body went limp, and she fell to the ground, lifeless. The world seemed to shudder as 2B's consciousness began to fade.
With 2B dead, A2 stood over her, a mix of grief and resignation on her face. She took the Virtuous Contract, the sword she had used to kill 2B, and with a deliberate motion, cut off a significant portion of her own hair. The severed strands fell to the ground beside 2B. This act, both symbolic and personal, marked the end of a chapter in their intertwined destinies.
9S's fury erupted. "No, no, no!" he cried out, his voice raw with anguish and disbelief. His eyes blazed with rage as he saw the finality of 2B's death and A2's symbolic gesture. "I'll kill you, A2! I swear I'll kill you!"
In that moment, time seemed to slow. 9S stood frozen, the shock and grief overwhelming him. The world around him blurred as his rage and sorrow surged. The void reasserted itself, pulling 2B away from the familiar world she had known.
As 2B's consciousness began to dissolve, she found herself enveloped in a vast, empty void. The space was an endless expanse where memories and sensations intertwined, a canvas for her final reflections.
In this boundless space, 2B's thoughts drifted to her comrades. She recalled 9S—his earnest face, his unwavering support, and the deep bond they had shared. She remembered Pascal, the pacifist machine who had hoped for peace, and the villagers whose lives had intersected with hers. Her operator's voice, calm and steady, was also present, a comforting reminder of her missions and the guidance she had received.
Her reflections turned to the mistakes she had made. She saw moments where she had failed to connect fully with 9S, where her duty had overshadowed personal relationships. Her thoughts also turned to the countless times she had been forced to kill 9S, over and over, each instance a fresh wound on her soul. She had hated the necessity of these actions, the endless cycle of violence and betrayal that seemed to define her existence. The emotional barriers she had erected, and the times she had followed orders without considering the personal cost, filled her with regret.
2B questioned the emotional constraints imposed upon her."Why did I adhere so strictly to these protocols?"she pondered. "What if I had allowed myself to embrace my emotions more fully? What if I had lived more for myself rather than merely following orders?"
Her thoughts then turned to the broader existential questions. She reflected on her fight for humanity, wondering if it had been a true choice or merely a reflection of her programming. Memories of Adam and Eve surfaced, their philosophical discussions about humanity's nature and desires adding depth to her reflections.
"What did I fight for?"she mused."Was it just to fulfill a directive? Did I fight for the humans I sought to protect, or was there something deeper? fighting for the concept of humanity?, What does it mean to be human?"
The void around her seemed to echo her thoughts, the space a vast canvas for her final contemplations. And so she asked herself one last time before the void finally consumes her.
"What does it mean to be human?"
