Disclaimer: I do not own The Mr. Men Show or its characters, but I do own several characters in this story and the idea for this story.
Scarlet felt trapped somewhere, but she couldn't see anything. She didn't even feel her body. It seemed like just her consciousness was floating in an empty space.
She was not aware of time. She could have been here for only a moment or a hundred years. She tried to remember her life before this place but she couldn't. All she knew was this blackness and nothingness around her. It was strangely peaceful.
Then suddenly she was pulled out of the space and she blinked, looking around at her surroundings. She was in a small room and she didn't see anyone. She was sitting in a bed and a toy ring-tailed lemur was beside her on a pillow.
Confused, she stood up and she had to quickly sit down again when she felt dizzy. She looked up when she heard a voice.
"Let me see her!" someone was begging, but what was really confusing was that the voice seemed to be speaking in her head. She looked around, but still didn't see anyone.
"You can't," someone else said, their voice echoing in her head. "She must stay locked up for her own safety."
"She's only five!" the first person shouted. "She needs me!"
"Look, Anna," said the second person. "I understand how you feel, but she needs to be kept safe, for everyone's sake, until she's old enough to use her magic." The person's voice softened. "You don't want Tyler to take her, too, do you?"
The first person, Anna, let out a sob and never responded. What sounded like footsteps echoed in Scarlet's head and she wondered if Anna walked away.
Her surroundings changed and she realized she was in a forest now. She was running, panting. She had a bag over her shoulder that hit her painfully in the side as she ran. She heard someone chasing her and she ran faster. A voice echoed all around her.
"You can't escape! Give up if you ever want to see your mother again!"
Scarlet stopped running and gazed all around. They had her mother! It was hopeless; she needed to let them capture her or they'll hurt her mother.
A twig snapped and she spun around. A tall man was approaching her. "Don't run," he said, and as he spoke, he smirked and waved his hand over her face. The world seemed to shift around her and she passed out. When she woke, she had no memory of who she was or what just happened.
Lost and confused, she met this guy, much older than her, and he promised to help her; he took her to his house and fed her and gave her a bed to sleep in; time past and strange things seemed to happen; she kept having visions of this guy who she felt like she knew but couldn't remember his name or anything about him; she kept dreaming about her mother telling her something awful is about to happen and she needed to be brave.
While staying with her new friend, who was named Mike, she discovered a kids show and started watching it every day. She loved the characters and everything about the show. She'd talk nonstop about the show and Mike would happily listen to her ramble on about it.
Then things changed, and the guy she's been seeing in visions appeared and tried to snatch her. In a desperate attempt to save her, Mike realized he had magic, but he had trouble controlling it. He managed to scare off the person, but the guy, who was named Tyler, swore he'll return.
Mike, now realizing he might be able to help her, zapped her with his magic to send her home, but instead he created these people inside her head and they found out their names were Ace, Ronn, and Jerry, and at first they were there because of a mistake, but as time went on, they each found their own purposes to protect her.
Ace's purpose was to keep Scarlet happy and distracted so she doesn't think about Tyler. She's the closest one to Scarlet.
Ronn's purpose is to defend Scarlet and keep her safe. He's very protective of her and he can come off as angry and rude.
Jerry had the most important purpose. He was to keep Scarlet hidden and out of danger. Later on, Mike managed to put a spell on the toy ring-tailed lemur Scarlet always carried with her and connected it with Jerry. Now if Tyler ever seized control of Scarlet's body, Mike or someone else had to give the toy to him and he'd be forced out and Jerry would replace him.
Scarlet was with Mike for a while, but her personalities got confusing so he gave her a necklace, putting a spell on it to shine whenever one of them was out. Ace was a pink light, Ronn was blue, and Jerry was green. It helped a lot to see who was out, and without knowing it, Scarlet's magic that had been hidden inside her, got stronger and became part of the necklace, so the necklace and her own abilities grew twice as powerful.
Tyler found this out and he managed to steal the necklace and created a massive storm that destroyed Mike's home and wiped out most of the people living there. Mike was the only survivor, but Tyler didn't realize someone had survived. While he was busy looking through the ruins for Scarlet, Mike found the necklace and gave it back to Scarlet, along with her bag and stuffed ring-tailed lemur. Convinced he was doing what was best for Scarlet, Mike opened up a portal and sent Scarlet through it. Ronn begged him to use his magic on Tyler, but Mike didn't think he was powerful enough so when they needed him most, he left them, and at the last minute, Tyler showed up, but it was too late to grab Scarlet, so he zapped her to get rid of her memories once more.
Once again, Scarlet woke up with no memory of who she was or what happened to her. She met two strange creatures, who she felt like she'd seen before but unable to remember where. They offer to help her and she stays with them; they ask her questions that she's unable to remember. She stays with them for a few days; she meets one of their friends, and then the creature and a couple of others take her into town; she sees lots more strange but familiar creatures.
She sees the one she met before watching her, smirking at her; then she remembers nothing more. Her consciousness is back in the empty space, floating there and she doesn't remember anything that just happened. Where was she? What happened to her? How did she get here? All she could do was exist in this endless nothingness and blackness.
