(A/N) A universe where DNA alterations and creating monsters are the norm? How come I didn't think of this crossover sooner?! Let's see what monsters we can create with Jurassic Park scientists and Spider-Man's rogue gallery! If you are wondering about the love interest, you all voted, the poll is closed, and I am not giving it away.

yeah, this was just gonna be a quick BRANCHES chapter, and I decided what the hell?

Peter Parker's upbringing was relatively normal, with the exception of a few tragic events. His mother passed away in a plane crash when he was just a child. His father, a traveling scientist specializing in DNA research, was often away on business trips. He was employed by a man named Masrani to contribute to a unique park project — a park that was reviving prehistoric dinosaurs.

Richard, Peter's father, spent much of his time on an island near Costa Rica, leaving Peter in the care of his Aunt May. May, who had married Richard's brother, became a widow after her husband was fatally shot during a mugging. She worked as a nurse and volunteered part-time at FEAST, a homeless shelter. One day, while Peter was still in school, Richard arrived at May's home with an exciting surprise for his son.

With the school vacation approaching, Richard believed it was the ideal opportunity for Peter to experience his work firsthand. Masrani had been developing a new feature for the park called Camp Cretaceous, a summer camp situated on the opposite side of Isla Nublar, which is part of the larger Jurassic World theme park. The camp was designed to function like a traditional seasonal camp, where youths could stay and learn about the park's dinosaurs and even a bit of behind-the-scenes.

"It is perfect, May." Richard tried to convince her. "Look, I want to spend time with Peter, but Masrani has been pushing this new attraction that I can't get away often. Now, the project is basically done. They don't need me."

"And what is this exactly?" May wonders.

"It's basically a summer camp," Richard quickly explained. "I volunteered to be a camp counselor so I can be involved. Peter and I can spend some time together, and he can spend some time with other kids his age. He mentioned he has been having problems with making friends a few times in his calls with me."

May sighed as she wasn't sure she was comfortable with the idea, but she also knew that Richard and Peter needed to spend some time together. "You are sure that it is safe?"

"High-tech security, state-of-the-art fences, and trained professionals are out there at all times," Richard assured her. "And I will be by his side most of the time."

May nodded and decided that it sounded safe enough. "Alright, I won't keep you from your son. So, let's at least see what Peter has to say about this."

That was when Peter entered the home with a sigh. "Hey, May." He said as he strolled around the home, dropping his bag near the front door. "I'm home."

"Hey, how was school?" May wondered as Peter walked around, a headphone dangling in his ear.

"It was fine, nothing much exciting." Peter shrugged as he entered the living room and froze when he saw his dad. "Oh, hey, dad. What... what are you doing here?"

"Well, turns out, your dad has a surprise for you," May said as she looked towards Richard. "Go on."

Richard rolled his eyes at his sister-in-law. "Look, Peter, we are starting a new adventure camp at the Park." He explained it to Peter. "It is not officially opened yet, but they are setting up a testing ground for the camp. Starting with a handful of kids who got invites by completing a game or by knowing someone."

"So, I got in because of your connection?" Peter clarified.

Richard hummed. "Well, I made a special request to Mazrani as he only wanted six, but since I volunteered to help, he let me invite you along."

"So, it's a summer camp?" Peter was trying to make sure he was getting this correct.

"Yeah, they're calling it Camp Cretaceous." Richard nodded. "You and I can spend some time together in between activities, I could show you some behind-the-scenes stuff. And hey, you could hang out with other kids your age."

That part was what made Peter a little skeptical of the idea. He was not known for making friends, and he grew accustomed to that life.

"I know you aren't exactly looking for friends, but think of it this way, if it doesn't work out, you don't have to see them again. Maybe." Richard muttered. "I don't exactly know where they all live."

"I would be a little worried if you did," May commented, watching the scene play out from the sideline.

"What do you say, Pete?" Richard asks. "A whole summer surrounded by dinosaurs and science?"

Peter chuckled as his dad knew he had a love for science. "Well, when you put it that way..."

Richard chuckled as he walked over and gave Peter a pat on the shoulder. "That's my boy."

May watched and chuckled at the scene. "You better start trying in your gym classes, Peter. Because when one of those monsters breaks out..."

"What makes you think one of them is gonna break out?" Richard wonders.

"Gremlins. Aliens. Cabin in the Woods." May recapped. "Get a bunch of dangerous stuff together, things are bound to happen."

"She does have a point." Peter agrees.

"I promise you guys, everything will be okay," Richard promises.

SEVERAL MONTHS LATER:

Peter found himself standing on the creaking, weather-beaten wooden docks of Isla Nublar, a remote island enveloped in an aura of enigma and intrigue. Accompanied by his father, another seasoned camp counselor, and a small, diverse group of around five other children, he sensed a palpable undercurrent of excitement and anticipation in the air. As they made their way over on the boat, his father meticulously introduced Peter to each of the other kids, offering glimpses into the distinctive personalities that comprised their group.

Among them was the youngest, Darius Bowman, who had just emerged from the Camo after completing a challenging game. Darius possessed deep brown eyes, rich dark skin, and short, springy black curls. He sported a striking yellow and black hooded jacket, complemented by light blue jeans and black and white sneakers. Around his neck, he proudly wore a necklace fashioned from a raptor's tooth, adding to his unique and intriguing presence.

There was also Ben Fitzgerald Pincus, who was currently throwing up over the pier. Seems that he also got a free pass to the Park's Camp Cretaceous thanks to his mother's job with Masrani, similar to Peter. Ben has brown hair and blue eyes. He initially wears a light blue button-up shirt, tan cargo shorts, and brown shoes. He uses a Fanny pack filled with snacks and hand sanitizer.

Sammy Gutierrez and her family are the proud owners of a sprawling ranch nestled in the heart of Texas. Their ranch is the source of the prime meat supplied to the carnivores inhabiting Jurassic World, which likely earned Sammy an exclusive invitation to the park.

With a robust and curvaceous figure, Sammy exudes a confident presence. Her luscious black curls are impeccably styled, adorned with a single chic bang gracefully falling above her left eyebrow. A dark pink hairband adds a touch of femininity to her ensemble, which is completed by a sleek black leather jacket.

On the other hand, we have Brooklynn Dyre, a popular vlogger who managed to snag VIP tickets to Camp Cretaceous due to her immense online following. Her vividly dyed pink locks, styled with two long bangs and a charming ponytail, are hard to miss. She sports a fashionable pink jacket with striking black and white accents, layered over a vibrant red tank top. Completing her look are trendy dark blue jeans with tasteful distressed details, paired with pristine white shoes.

Yasmina Fadoula is the last of the group. She is an accomplished world track and field champion, having won multiple medals. Her corporate sponsor is Jurassic World. However, her rigorous training schedule has left her with little time for leisure or for forming meaningful friendships, resulting in a disciplined and solitary lifestyle.

Yasmina, often referred to as Yaz, has striking brown eyes. She is often seen wearing a cozy, fully-zipped warm gray jacket over a stylish purple and gray tank top, with the right sleeve appearing slightly torn. Her dark brown hair is neatly tied up in a long ponytail. As for her lower half, she initially dons gray jeans, which are later swapped for sleek dark gray sports shorts with elegant purple lines forming an upside-down letter "T" and a gray cuff. Completing her outfit, she sports white socks and eye-catching gray and purple shoes.

"Welcome to Isla Nublar, campers." The second camp counselor, Dave, greeted everyone. "You are the chosen few, the first kids in the entire world to ever experience the awesomeness that is Camp Cretaceous. I know, the trip from the mainland was rough on some." He then looked over towards Ben, still getting seasick. "Hello, Ben."

Ben gave a weak thumbs-up before he went back to retching.

"They really gotta start offering patches for people," Richard muttered as he stood aside Dave.

"But you made it!" Dave continued. "I'm Dave, head counselor. You heard that correctly- head honcho, big shot."

"Uh..." Richard got his attention. He then pointed towards a jeep with the Camp Cretaceous logo painted on the doors. "I think she has something to say about that."

The jeep quickly skidded to a stop as they heard the tires screech. The kids winced as they were worried about the car hitting them, but it managed to stop and didn't even come near them, and stopped at the top of the stairway leading to the island. The doors opened and a woman wearing a red shirt with the Jurassic World logo stepped out.

"Ah, so sorry I'm late." She said as she headed downward towards them. "Welcome, campers! I'm Roxie, head counselor of Camp Cretaceous."

Dave chuckled when he heard that and saw the kids giving him a look. "Well, it's sort of a co-head counselor sort of situation."

Roxie gave him a smug look. "Is it?"

"Yeah, I think Mazrani put her in charge." Richard agreed while Brooklyn was moving her phone around to get everyone. "By my recommendation."

"Seriously, Richard?" Dave asks.

"What?" Richard asks while Brooklyn moves her phone over to Yaz who quickly shields her face and walks away. "Nothing personal. I'm just thinking about the kids."

"Anyway, some of you won contests to be here, some of you had VIP invites, but for the next two weeks, all of you will be getting the five-star treatment!" Dave said as Brooklyn moved her phone to everyone else, who didn't pay her any mind except for Darius who gave a thumbs up and smile while Sammy waved at the camera.

"As our first campers, we've lined up exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of Jurassic World." Roxie continued.

"Ooh!" Sammy was excited.

"Yes!" Brooklyn whispered.

Ben whines.

Richard then stepped up. "As well as usual camp activities with a Jurassic World spin, with kayaking, rock climbing, obstacle courses, and of course..."

"Dinosaurs!?" Darius asks, getting everyone to eye him a little.

"Yes..." Roxie said, getting a quick look at the names. "Darius, plenty of dinosaurs. So, ready for an adventure?"

"Absolutely!" Brooklyn spoke up. "But I'm gonna need that speech a little shorter, and really try to lean into the majesty of this place."

"I'm out," Peter said, taking a quick walk over to the edge of the port to look out to the ocean.

Richard sighed as he knew this was going to be a bit of an adjustment for his kid. "Sorry about him, he's not good around people." He told the councilors. "But it'll be fine."

"I'm sure we can handle it," Roxie promised.

"Okay, we're going now," Dave said. "Let's get the seven of you to camp."

"Uh, there are six of us," Ben informed him.

"Wait." Dave noticed the count and was confused. He pulled out the list and checked it out. "Dino-kid, Track-Star, Internet Girl, Sci-kid, Barfy, Texas. He's right. Where's seven?"

Roxie looked at the manifest and scoffed.

"What?" Richard asked, seeing who it was. He then scoffed himself and rubbed his face. "Oh, great..."

The group was led to a spacious helicopter pad in the middle of the jungle, where they eagerly awaited the arrival of a helicopter. As the aircraft touched down, all eyes were fixed on the figure who emerged from the back. It was none other than Kenji Kon, the presumed final member of their camp. Dressed in stylish sunglasses, a vibrant pink polo shirt, and casual brown flip-flop sandals, he exuded an air of laid-back confidence. And the helicopter took off the minute he left.

"Greetings, my dudes." Kenji said as he jumped out and grabbed his bag, "Kenji is here, so let the party commence!" He then tossed his bag over towards Roxie, getting her irritated. "Put this in my room." He then walked over to Darius. "So, what's your deal?"

Before Darius could respond, Roxie threw the bag back towards Kenji, causing him to fall over due to the weight. "Okay, let's go."

As the group of kids embarked on their journey, they excitedly made their way towards the rear of the truck. Inside the jeep, the adults chatted and laughed as they prepared to navigate through the rugged terrain, while the kids occupied the cargo space, which had been fitted with seats for their safety. The vehicle rumbled into the dense jungle, forging a path towards their campsite.

Sammy eagerly rose to her feet, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, while Yazmania effortlessly vaulted over the side of the truck, showcasing her impressive athletic prowess. Brooklyn settled against the back of the jeep, her phone poised to capture every moment of their adventure, while the rest of the kids found their places along the sides. Yaz and Sammy claimed spots on the right side of the jeep, with Ben positioned near the edge due to his ailment.

On the left side, Peter nestled himself furthest from the edge, finding comfort as he leaned against the sturdy back of the jeep. Kenji occupied the middle seat, exuding an air of quiet confidence, while Darius sat at the far end, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery.

"I hope you got my mom's note," Ben said to the adults. "I don't do well on windy roads."

Brooklyn then turned the phone to start recording herself. "What's good, Brooklanders? It's your girl Brooklynn coming at you from the best place ever: Camp Cretaceous. Like and subscribe to join me as I unbox Jurassic World!" She then turns the phone towards her fellow campers. "Okay, I need you all to say who you are and a little bit about yourself. And, action!"

"Oh!" Darius saw the camera was on him. "Um, I beat this awesome VR dinosaur game."

"My dad's been working here for years," Peter explained how he got into the camp.

"I'm Darius, by the-"

"I'm sorry," Sammy said as she jumped towards Brooklyn. "I just can't believe you're Brooklynn!" She said with a squeal. "I'm Sammy Gutierrez, total Brooklander! Kapow!" She then imitates gunfire while using her fingers as pistols. "Oh, also, my family supplies all the beef for the park, and that's how I got here."

"Great to meet you, Sammy," Brooklyn said.

"Um, hi, new kid here," Peter interjected. "What's a Brooklander?"

"Oh, that's just what my online followers call themselves," Brooklyn explained.

"Yeah, all 27 million of us," Sammy said with pride as she imitated gunfire again.

"Yep. That's why she's the only one who gets to keep her cell phone." Yaz said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "She's famous."

"Hold on." Kenji intervened. "Rich and famous?" He then scooted closer towards Brooklyn. "Oh, meant to be."

"Really? You know someone famous?" Peter wanted to knock this guy down a peg. If he was going to be stuck with this guy for the upcoming weeks, he was going to make sure this wasn't a second Flash Thompson. "Could they not make it?"

That got a round of chuckles from the group and a grunt of anger from Kenji. Brooklyn's camera shutter clicks and shows she captured his angry face. Meanwhile Ben was still vomiting over the side of the truck. Yaz scooted over a little. Letting the poor boy let it all out.

Then all of a sudden the car comes to a stop when the adults spotted something, getting the group on the back to grab ahold of something to save themselves from the sudden stop. Roxie and Dave stepped out of the vehicle with cattle prods while searching the area. Richard stepped out of the vehicle with a similar cattle prod but he stuck to the side of the car while the other two counselors searched.

"Um, dad, what's going on?" Peter asked, peeking over to see his dad looking around.

"Nothing to worry about," Richard promised as he heard some leaves tossing. He then activated his prod as electricity crackled. "But you should all definitely stay in your seats."

Ben began whimpering. "Oh, God." Then he began to pant. "Oh, god!"

Everyone else however couldn't help but peak over the truck as they watched the adults search the area they spotted the creature running off in. While they did, Dadius heard something rustling and turned towards the bushes behind them.

"Guys?" Darius tried to get their attention, whimpering his words in whispers. "Guys?"

Then there was a shriek as a dinosaur came flying out of the bushes and caused Darius to shriek as it tackled him. Everyone else scrambled when they heard him scream. Brooklyn jumped off the truck and hid underneath a tire. Sammy yelping and hudling in the corner. Kenji shrieked like a girl and jumped on the roof. Yaz jumped back and held onto the back of the truck. Ben just rolled off the edge and landed on the ground. Peter ended up being shoved and fell off the side and slammed into the dirt. Not that he was currently complaining. He'd be glad to eat dirt like he was back in school (Flash) to get away from a dangerous creature.

Darius looked and noticed that he was tackled by a Compsognathus. The small dinosaur clicked as it looked around and let out a small roar as he looked around at the kids. Peter got back up and groaned and froze when he saw the dinosaur and was awed at his first dinosaur sighting. Then the Compsognathus ran towards the back of the truck to leap and escape.

But when it tried to escape, Richard was there with a safety blanket and caught the Compsognathus. He kept it close so it wouldn't escape until Roxie approached with a small cage.

"Nice job, Richard," Roxie said as she placed the Compsognathus in the cage. "Crisis averted. Oh, these things are always getting out of their enclosure."

"I keep telling Masrani we need better defenses to keep these guys in their enclosure." Richard scoffed.

Darius gasped as the dinosaur was placed in the back seat of the truck with the adults. "A real live Compsognathus!"

"Oh, please." Kenji scoffed as he sat down and everyone else calmed down. "It took a blanket and a cat carrier to catch it. Boring."

"Scared you pretty good." Peter reminded him. "Haven't heard someone scream like that since my first time watching Psycho in film club."

His joke ended with Darius and the girls laughing. Kanji didn't seem pleased to have been insulted, but Peter was glad to knock this guy down a peg. Brooklyn took a photo of the moment.

Then they were back on their way as they drove through the jungle and were beginning to reach the camp. As they drove through the dense jungle, they looked out and saw that there was something in the distance. There was a giant gate remittance of the original Jurassic Park gate with the Jurassic logo and the Camp Cretaceous title on it.

Everyone looked amazed at the gates as they drove forward. "Welcome to Camp Cretaceous."

They drove their way over and as if on an automatic sensor or something, the front gate started to open. There was a gate surrounding the whole area to keep the campers safe when the main camp opened. Everyone was amazed at the size and scale of the gates.

"What have they got in here? Godzilla?" Peter asked as a joke, earning a laugh from Darius and Brooklyn, who was still recording.

They then reached the camp and looked amazed at the sight. The camp worked as if it were a giant tree house. They parked the car and everyone jumped out of the car to take in the size and scale of the place. There was an elevator on the ground floor that would take them upward where the main camp was.

"Hey, Brooklanders, check this place out!" Brooklyn said into her phone, showing off the camp. "Is this not the most amazing place you have ever seen?"

"If you think this is cool, you should see my dad's penthouse in the main park," Kenji said as he walked past with his bag.

"That sounds a little stupid and incredibly dangerous," Peter stated as he was looking around with his bag. "What do you do when a pterodactyl escapes? Penthouse is the first place to be attacked."

"Where'd you get that?" Darius asked as he grabbed his bag.

"Movies." Peter shrugged as he walked up to the front. "And also because I watched a documentary once. I'm a fan of Alan Grant if I am in the mood."

"Really? Which one did you see?" Darius asks as the two started to talk.

"Uh, I dont recall the name." Peter admitted. "But it was definitely after the Park, since he brought up Chaos Theory and Ian Malcolm."

Brooklyn then turned towards Yaz who was avoiding the camera. "Yasmina! Hey, girl. So, as an elite athlete, how pumped are you for camp?"

Yaz was trying to shield her face from the camera. "Not a huge fan of being on camera. Or people."

"This place is almost as big as my family's ranch back home," Sammy said as she looked around.

"That's because when we're up and running, the camp will house 500 kids and 150 staff," Roxie explained.

"Listen up!" Dave called out. "Announcement time from your co-head counselors."

"Yeah, still not a thing." Richard scoffed. "You are not going to make it a thing."

"Okay, everyone, there's some ground rules to cover." Dave ignored him. "Curfew's at 8:00 p.m., and lights out at 9:00 p.m. sharp."

"What?"

"Lame."

"Fine."

"This is for your safety," Roxie informed them. "We are in a dinosaur-filled jungle. You must always keep your distance, or you could be seriously hurt, if not worse."

"Define 'worse'," Ben asked.

"What do you think? What is worse than being hurt?" Peter asked him. "There is only one thing worse."

"Cabins are up that way." Dave pointed upward.

"The first one there gets the top bunk!" Yaz cried as she ran ahead of everyone.

Brooklyn eagerly led the way, with Kenji, Ben, and Sammy close behind. Peter, feeling a bit uncertain, trailed after them, trying to find common ground with the other kids. Richard noticed Peter's efforts to connect with the group. He couldn't help but see similarities between Kenji and Flash, which didn't sit well with him. However, he held out hope that Peter and Kenji might bond in the future. Surprisingly, Peter seemed to hit it off with Darius, which brought a wry smile to Richard's face.

As he observed the children race inside, Richard's thoughts drifted to his late wife, who had tragically passed away during childbirth many years ago. The loss of both his wife and their unborn child had left an irrevocable void in their lives. Peter was supposed to have had a sibling, but fate had a different plan. The painful memories of his wife's passing and the loss of their child still weighed heavily on Richard and cast a shadow over their lives.

Roxie was handing off the dinosaur to the security. "Get this lovely lady back to her pen. Her family's probably worried sick."

Darius saw it and ran over to try and get a look at the Compsognathus before they took it away, but it was too late. "W-Wait! Oh, man, I really wanted to get a closer look at that Compy."

"I like your enthusiasm, Darius, but right now it's "claiming a bunk" time," Dave tells him. "So, you know, go claim a bunk."

"But it's the first dinosaur I've ever seen in person and, I mean, we're here to see dinosaurs, so..." Darius was saying when he felt the ground was beginning to rumble.

"Oh, the day is not over, buddy," Dave stated with a smile.

As the golden sun descended below the horizon, the camp counselors led the children up to a high vantage point overlooking the sprawling dinosaur enclosures. Peering over the edge of the lookout point, the children's eyes widened with wonder as they watched the colossal creatures being gently guided from their pens to a lush, new grazing area.

"Dinosaurs!" Darius cheered. "There's Brachiosaurus. Parasaurolophus. Stegosaurus. Ankylosaurus!"

"Wow, you really do know your stuff, dino-nerd," Brooklyn said as she enjoyed the sight.

"Check out the... Brontosaurus." Kenji tried to impress her.

"They don't have those here," Darius informed him. "Common mistake." Then he gasped when he saw another dinosaur. "Are those Sinoceratops?! When did you get those?"

"They are cooking up all kinds of new dinos in that lab," Dave explained.

"Yeah, you're welcome," Richard said as a joke. "Filling in the gaps of DNA isn't easy, you know."

"That's your job?" Brooklyn asks in surprise.

"Yep. I am the head scientist of the geneticists division, just short of Dr. Wu."

"Where are they herding 'em to?" Sammy wonders.

"They're herding them back to their nighttime enclosures," Roxie answered.

"Enough banter," Dave said as he led everyone over to a zipline. "It's zip-line party time!"

Then they hooked Ben up to be the first one to go first. "Me? Maybe Yasmina should go first, or Peter?" He asked in terror. "Uh... Or anyone! I really don't-"

Dave exerted a strong push, propelling Ben into a swift glide past the majestic procession of dinosaurs being ushered into their enclosure. The creatures let out joyous roars as they trailed behind Ben, who soared past them while ziplining. Some of the towering Brachiosauruses observed their airborne journey with curiosity, pausing to watch them zoom by. Throughout the exhilarating ride, Ben's terrified screams echoed through the air as he tightly gripped the zipline pole.

After that, the kids turned in for the night into their bunks that everyone had split between the boys and girls. Peter was lying in bed but couldn't sleep due to the quietness. He was so used to the busy streets and chaos of New York that he couldn't get comfortable. So he ended up sitting up with a sigh as he wandered off. He walked down the halls and found himself on the balcony as he looked out to the jungle.

"Hey there, New Yorker," Brooklyn called, getting Peter to turn and see her. "What are you doing up?"

"Couldn't sleep." Peter shrugged as he looked out to the jungle. "We New Yorkers aren't known for peaceful and quiet nights. We are more used to the constant yelling, police sirens, and the occasional gunfire. And maybe an Avengers level threat every other year."

"Brooklyn laughed at the joke. "Yeah, I could see how this is a little different."

"And also, I am not being called New Yorker if you are starting nicknames," Peter warns Brooklyn. "That isn't original. That's like calling Yazmania Track Runner. Or Road Runner."

"What, you're gonna pick out a nickname for yourself?" Brooklyn laughed. "That's not how nicknames work."

"Wouldn't know," Peter shrugged. "The last nickname I got was from my bully Flash Thompson."

"What does he call you?" Brooklyn asks.

Peter sighed as he looked at the ground. "Penis Parker."

Brooklyn let out a snicker as she tried to contain her laughter. "You serious?"

"Yeah, so I take my nicknames seriously," Peter said playfully. "Superstar."

"Okay, if I am working on a better nickname, so are you," Brooklyn warned him.

"Deal. You seen Kenji?" Peter wonders. "I didn't see him in the dorm when I got up."

"No," Brooklyn shrugged. "I kinda just left Yazmania and Sammy asleep and found you."

"Hm, wonder where he is," Peter said. "I think he has a crush on you."

"He isn't exactly subtle," Brooklyn stated with a laugh. "Don't worry, I can handle him."

"Oh, I don't doubt it." Peter nodded. Then he decided to get personal. "So, Brooklyn? Is that a nickname, or your actual name?"

"What, you think I've been using some fake name?" Brooklyn asks. "No. It's my actual name."

"And you are from...?" Peter was cruises to know.

"Well, I grew up in London," Brooklyn admitted.

Really? I don't hear much of an accent." Peter admitted, a little surprised.

"I was homeschooled," Brooklyn explained. "And I started to do videos, which took off, and then I started traveling to film."

"Whoa." Peter had to admit she was impressive. "You achieved a lot for our age."

"What about you?" Brooklyn asks. "Your dad helps run Jurassic World. That must be cool."

"Yeah, really cool." Peter sighed as he walked over and leaned over the railing. "He's been working here, what, ten years? And this is the first time he has actually shown me the island. The first time he spent a whole day with me."

Brooklyn was surprised to hear that. "You... don't see your dad often?"

Peter sighed and closed his eyes, trying not to break down in front of her. "I haven't seen much of him since my mom died."

Brooklyn became sorry for him when she heard that. "What happened?" She wondered.

"She was pregnant," Peter told her. "There was a complication. They didn't tell me specifically, but neither my mom or my baby sister survived."

Brooklyn reached over and could relate to his pain. "I am sorry. I... I lost my mom, too." She informed Peter, getting his attention. "I was just a few months old, my dad said it was raining hard... there was another car on the road, it swiveled out of control..."

"Sorry," Peter told her.

"It's not your fault." Brooklyn chuckled, trying to hide her pain as she joined him on the railing. "But... what happened after your mom died?"

"My dad threw himself into his work. Bio-engineering." Peter explained. "It's how he was approached by Masrani, and got the job here. He almost didn't hesitate."

"He was probably grieving," Brooklyn tells him.

"Yeah, so was I," Peter informed her. "For ten years, I not only lost my mother, but I practically lost my father. I was practically raised by my Aunt May." He then looked back to the inside of the camp. "And I am glad that he is trying with this camp... wanting to spend some time with me... but I worry if its ten years too late to make any real commitment."

Brooklyn saw she couldn't say anything else and just tried to help him by being there. The two stood there looking out to the horizon when they looked down and saw something. There were two silhouettes of people who were walking off towards a facility in the distance.

"Is that...?" Peter tried to see. "Is that Darius and Kenji?"

"It looks like it," Brooklyn confirmed.

"You think we should tell someone about that?" Peter asks Brooklyn.

"Or... we can sneak out ourselves, and see what they're up to," Brooklyn tells him.

"You wanna sneak off into a dangerous jungle with dinosaurs to follow those two?" Peter asks.

"Sneaking out to see dinosaurs in the dead of night, with mad danger of getting caught, great mood lighting... definitely," Brooklyn stated.

Peter sighed as he looked at the camp and down to the figures disappearing into the trees. "I guess that means we're going rogue."

Kenji and Darius were making their way to a facility they assumed was the place they brought the Compsognathus. As they were approaching the facility, they missed Peter and Brooklyn actually catching up. Brooklyn caught up faster since she seemed to be used to running more than Peter. Since he wasn't exactly athletic, he needed to take a break here and there due to his non-athletic build.

"You okay?" Brooklyn asked, watching Peter slowly catch up.

Peter panted as he ran over and dropped his hands to his knees. "No." He wheezed out. "I've never... run this much... outside of gym class. How are you... not exhausted?"

"Probably from all my work on my 'unboxing the Olympics' video." Brooklyn guessed.

Peter caught his breath as he stood up. "Okay. Im good. Where are they?"

"Over there." Brooklyn nodded towards the cars and spotted Kenji and Darius. "Come on."

"More running?" Peter moaned as Brooklyn dragged him along.

They made their way over and saw Darius and Kenji not looking in their direction.

"I think this is it," Darius told Kenji. "The truck definitely headed in this direction."

"Of course this is it," Kenji stated. "Why else would they have-"

"What are you two doing?" Brooklyn asked, causing Kenji to shriek. He jumped back and saw it was Brooklyn, who was recording. "So that's a high-pitched scream."

Kenji quickly caught himself when he saw Brooklyn. "Sorry, I-" Darius was explaining.

"He was sneaking out, but I set him straight," Kenji stated, pushing Darius closer. "Look, I try to look out for the younger kids. It's who I am."

"We were referring to both of you sneaking out," Peter explained. "You guys could be sent home if you are caught."

"You guys don't understand," Darius explains. "I've been waiting my whole life to get here, and I'm gonna make the most of it. We think this is the Compy enclosure. I just gotta check it out!"

Peter looked to Brooklyn and she seemed to still be on board. "I am not getting out of this, am I?"

"Probably not," Brooklyn stated with a smile. "I mean, you could just walk back to camp if you want."

"Ha-ha." Peter sarcastically laughed. "No. I have seen enough horror movies to know to stay with the group. Especially on an island of dinosaurs."

"Great. Let's go." Brooklyn said, getting up and walking to the enclosure as she started to climb the side to reach the top.

"This girl is going to get me into trouble, I just know it," Peter whispered as he followed the three of them.

The quartet ascended to the summit of the facility, unaware of the warning sign that proclaimed the creature within to be extremely dangerous. Peering into the pit, Peter surveyed the dense foliage and myriad hiding spots that could conceal the dinosaurs. He expected the Compys to be active, their squeaks and scurries a giveaway, but it was quiet. Perhaps, like their larger counterparts, they retreated to a designated nocturnal area.

"Hey, Brooklynn. You can get a good shot from over here." Kenji said further along than where Peter and Darius were. "Allow me."

"No, thanks. I can-" Brooklyn was saying when Kenji tried to take her phone.

"Just-"

"Hey! Give me my- Ugh!" Then her phone went flying and fell into the cage. "Come on!"

"Good job, Kenji. Real smooth." Peter said sarcastically.

"Relax, I'll get it," Kenji said as he jumped over the railing and crawled his way down.

"Wait! What are you-" Darius didn't see this as a good idea.

"I got it, kid," Kenji stated, continuing his downward spiral.

"He's gonna die down there," Peter stated.

Kenji reached the bottom and searched for the phone. He then found it and picked it up, luckily it was in the gated area outside of the main cage.

"See? Ha! Good as new." Kenji said,

"Great. Now, just climb back up and gently hand it to me." Brooklyn asked of him.

"Sure, sure, right after I get a sweet dino pic for your followers," Kenji said as he walked into the enclosure. "No need to thank me."

"He does know that Compys are better as a group, right?" Peter asked Darius, who looked at him surprised. "What? Do you think I would come here without watching a documentary or two on dinosaurs?"

That was when Darius looked around the enclosure and started to put together where they were. He looked and saw giant piles of bones, and rustling in the bushes. "Um, guys this isn't the Compy pen."

"What is it?" Peter wonders.

"Quiet, junior!" Kenji told him. "The grown-ups are talking. Ah, your followers are gonna love this. Here, Compy-Compy-Compy."

"This isn't the Compy pen!" Darius tried to warn him.

"Uh, what's he babbling on about?" Kenji asks, not noticing the dinosaur coming from the bushes.

The dinosaur that approached was not a Compsognathus, but a Velociraptor. This particular one boasted bluish-gray skin, adorned with a white stripe that had a metallic blue center, extending horizontally from the orbit of her eye. The stripe was accented with blue around one eye, while on the other side, it ceased at the head, trailing all the way down to the tip of her tail. This unique coloring was a result of the DNA from the black-throated African monitor lizard (Varanus albigularis microstictus) used in her creation.

"What the?" Kenji froze as his arm was still stretched out into the barred area.

The Velociraptor started to sniff the air, trying to locate Kenji through the darkness while the others watched from the railing. They didn't want to spook the Velociraptor to attack Kenji. But that was stopped when Kenji took a photo with the flash on, spooking the velociraptor. She went into strike while Kenji retracted his arm and screamed. The Veliciratpor tried to attack, but the bars prevented her from getting close. Kenji ran over to the doors and tried to open them, but they were reinforced and mechanically locked to keep the dinosaurs inside.

"D'ah! Open the gate! Open the gate!" Kenji cried.

Brooklyn found a control panel and pushed the button she assumed would open the doors. But it only ended up opening the doorway to give the Velociraptor a chance to strike at Kenji. Alarms started to blare as the doors were opened.

"Oh, please! Let me out!" Kenji cried as he saw the Velociraptor closing in. "Oh, come on!"

Darius then started to kick the steam vent to try and break it open. He managed to crack it and allow the velociraptor to get a hit of steam, causing her to take a few steps back to get out of the heat.

"Dude! Please tell me you have a plan." Kenji begged.

"Let's move!" Darius said. "The steam should keep her busy." Then he heard growling and saw that there were three more Velociraptors. "Huh?"

"Oh, crud!" Peter said from above.

(A/N) Couldn't find anything about Brooklyn's last name, so I just decided to give her one.
