Revenant Pov:
"There are others like me out in the world. Not exactly zombies but men and women that protect humans even if they're considered outcasts, not exactly the topic to discuss with when you learn it from someone who has more experience alone and on an island. Tiki Z is an example that after the fighting it ends, wanting a peaceful life to get away from it. It still didn't mean there weren't more out there looking after everyone, as well hearing that they could come to Seabrook and lend a hand since we're mostly visited by creatures that aren't fond of us getting along with humans. Right now I'm not thinking about it, what I am thinking of is seeing Wynter again and helping her out with the werewolf solstice party they're hosting in the forest. So while I'm adjusting to the fact that if I'm ever in a fight and now could expect helping to Seabrook if the time would come, all my attention is going to be with her and the pack. Nothing else."
Afternoon-Seabrook Forest
While back before the werewolves made the forest they're home, it was considered forbidden due to it having an eerie atmosphere as well having numerous animals stalking the place. That was until the wolves made it their home after retrieving the moonstone and deciding it to be open for everyone, now it was just an ordinary forest that anyone could roam freely. Right now at a camp site was the wolf pack working on their solstice party and getting the supplies and meals for the event. Across the side was several werepups messing around and playing with sticks along trying to scare one another. It was quickly stopped by a bark which came from Waylon, the beta wolf of the pack as well having a clipboard with several things that needed done.
"Alright pups, line up!"
Shouting at them in a stern voice as the pups saw the wolf looking at them in a serious manner since it was an important day for the pack. Quickly getting up and rushing over in front of Waylon, they stood at attention seeing what he'd want from them.
"Today is a special day for all of us. The solstice werewolf event, which is supposedly the longest day in the summer. That doesn't mean we're letting the heat get to us. Cause we got a lot of stuff needing handled, and meat primed for tonight."
Expressing both a serious and positive outlook for tonight's event as it got the werepups excited and thinking about what they'd be eating tonight. Seeing how it got them focused, Waylon handed out instructions for the little ones that included gathering wood for the bone fire and bones for the games they'd be having with everyone. He smiled at how well things were going and noticing Willa smiling at him for taking charge of the party, yet the moment was interrupted by a loud scratching sound from the side which was coming from a DJ set that Wyatt was setting up for the music.
"I thought we were going traditional brother. Just having several fires light up the night and making our own music, you know? The ones like our parents used to host."
Willa reminding her brother that for their werewolf solstice party they would do it like their parents before in the past. While old school it still had an exciting outcome since it allowed everyone to be their true werewolf selves and be as wild as possible for one night, which Wyatt nodded at her sister's response that a high technical DJ set was out of character for the pack.
"It was a gift from Eliza. Plus Addison, and Zed. Basically a group gift that they thought would spice up the party for tonight. Since it was your idea to invite them over."
Responding to his sister about adding something to the party and inviting outsiders since it had been a while since they brought anyone other than a werewolf into the solstice event. Biting her tongue at the retort and how she was doing something different, Willa allowed him the win and to continue working on the DJ set while she focused on where the bonfire would be placed. Waylon was focused on setting up the tables and decorations, he heard what sounded like scuffling from the trees as the beta wolf got suspicious. Placing the items to the side and unsheathing his claws feeling someone might be spying on them, the werewolf was preparing himself to pounce on whoever had the idea of thinking they get the jump on a werewolf gathering.
"Incoming!"
Shouted from the forest as Waylon was taken by surprise by a large wooden log flying right at him leaving the werewolf to catch the log and collapse onto the ground with a heavy thump. Willa and Wyatt heard the loud noise as the siblings rushed over to see what had happened, only to see none other than Wynter coming out of the forest and the one responsible for getting the log.
"Never let be known you like to make an entrance, as well going big when it comes to celebrations."
Willa commenting about how Wynter was excited to celebrate the solstice and was working just as hard as the pack. Especially in the firewood gathered as she had been working out for the occasion, which was represented by the log she found in the forest and carrying back here. The wolf girl walked over to pick it up off Waylon and carry it to the open fire, there she began to claw it into several pieces which included some for the fire and another for everyone to sit on when they would start cooking the food.
"Does it look good? Should I have gotten a bigger log? Will it impressive the others for when they come over?"
Asking anxiously since she heard about Revenant coming over along the others since it had been several weeks since she's hasn't seen them since the Ceto incident. Even if it was the best for both her and Revenant, she still wanted to see how he was doing along the others back at Sentinel. Her friends noticed the anxiety that was building up for Wynter as she was nervous everyone again, Willa walked over to calm her friend as well not let her pass out before the others come over to party.
"They'll be alright with what we have. Or might try to help out since I've been getting texts from Addison all day about offering ideas to make the party more fun."
Comforting Wynter with the effort she's putting into the solstice party and making sure it was perfect. Wynter nodded at her alpha's words since she was curious to see her and Revenant seeing each other again after the weeks they've been separated from one another. Taking a moment of air from hauling the large wooden log back here, her nose quickly began to twitch as she was able to recognize a familiar scent.
"Who's ready to get this werewolf summer solstice party started?!"
Shouted none other than Addison who apparently ran here all the way from town to come over and help out with the set up. It was a surprise for her making it all the way here, but also noticing from behind her was Zed who was out of breath and wearing a bookbag that had several supplies for the party.
"Are we, late for the party? Ran all the way here from Seabrook, even I couldn't keep up with her."
Zed asking the pack if they were on time which Wyatt confirmed that they were two hours early in coming over. This resulted in the zombie falling to the ground exhausted from the running, but not before hearing other exhausted breathing from the back which was several other of their friends who came to help out. Coming up from behind was Eliza who had a couple of bags of beverages and A-Spen that who was ecstatic in coming to their first werewolf party.
"Apologies Zed for your moment of tiredness. I might have been the one to ask we come here early to celebrate my first werewolf party, especially see how one is started up."
The alien leader explaining the reason in coming early and waving to Willa in an excited manner seeing how they wanted to help out with the set up. As the alpha was surprise about them coming here, she noticed behind the two was Revenant who was the last to arrive as he was trying to catch his breath from the constant running.
"Next time Eliza your bringing that armored suit of yours and flying us here. Cause this running was about to kill us, literally."
Calling out at while they agreed that it seemed they needed to be equipped for tonight's party, it would have been easier to get here than running all the way from Seabrook. Just as he was able to catch his breath and see the wolf pack, he saw Wynter who was shocked to see him with the group. The two didn't know how to react in seeing each other again as they stood still unable to say or do anything in the heat of the moment.
"Just hug already. You both are already in love with each other, might as well show it."
Waylon grumbling at the couple as Wynter rushed over at Revenant leapt on him hugging him tightly with the zombie boy embracing her. Especially how they shared a kiss in being a way for a while, their friends watched at the two having a moment and decided to let them enjoy seeing each other again. Willa was a bit embarrassed at thinking of having a moment like that with A-Spen since they were here, so it might be possible they could have something like that when the full moon came up.
"So what exactly will you need help with Willa? Rearranging the drinks? Hang up the streamers? Put up those fake meat decorations?"
Addison asking the alpha if she needed help with the remaining tasks which left Willa to think about the kind help she was offering. Taking a moment to think about what she could let Addison do, she whistled over to Wynter who was still enjoying Revenant's company as well noticing Willa needing her. Leaving her boyfriend's side, she rushed over to see what Willa needed as the two wolves spoke quietly letting no one hear them out loud. Looking over to her friends and smiling at what Willa suggested, she understood what she wanted from her.
"Willa told me she needs me to head back to the wolf den to pick up something important. Don't need any help, any way I'll be back. Bye!"
Speaking quickly before heading into the forest for Willa's mysterious request. Meanwhile the others were curious to see what the alpha wanted from them, but only saw a smile growing from her face about what she might want from Addison if she was keen on helping out with the party.
"Anyway. If you want to help out, maybe you can keep an eye out for the Solstice Slasher when it comes to try and slaughter us all."
Telling Addison on what she could do which left the cheerleader's expression on her face to fall quickly when she heard the word 'slaughter'. Much like the others who got suspicious on what she was talking about since they never heard of a 'Solstice Slasher' in the woods, especially there was no file on one from Sentinel's files. Waylon chuckled at how scared they got as he asked Willa to allow him in explaining this frightening legend.
"It's said that before we came to claim the woods as our own. There was a creature that always comes on the longest day of summer to look for prey to satisfy it's twisted hunger. Emerging with razor sharp claws, hulking size and strength. Stopping at nothing in tearing apart anyone tread upon this very forest!"
Acting frightening and showing his fangs at the group while putting on his best terrifying face scaring Addison and A-Spen at how ravenous he was acting. Only Willa and Eliza was laughing at their reaction from Waylon's story, the only one not thinking it was funny was Revenant since he was often around those types of individuals that had a knack for terrorizing people.
"Come on. A summer slasher? You find those types of people in cheesy horror movies. That type of story is good for the fire but not for someone who's already been around psycho monsters."
Revenant responding to the 'legend' that the two were talking about and not being afraid of it. That was until he felt a faint breathing coming down from his neck as the others were staring at what was stalking behind the zombie boy. A-Spen who was already scared pointed behind Revenant as they were looking at a tall creature with a white mane and brown fur. It had one eye staring at them along having antlers on its head as well growling at the zombie due to how close it was to him.
"Solstice Slasher!"
A-Spen crying out and hiding behind Willa leaving the werewolf girl and Waylon to laugh at how scared the alien was as well the others who didn't know it was a prank. Unlike Revenant who looked behind them seeing how the wolves laughed at their frightened friends on the fake story they told them about.
"I knew you were messing with me. Let me guess, Wynter is in the costume?"
Eliza calling out on their bluff as she was going to check up on the 'slasher' in front of them. Though they heard some rustling from the bushes which showed Wynter in a not so convincing slasher costume and trying to act scary. The gang took a moment in looking at the creature in front of them as they could hear heavy breathing coming from its mouth and that the claws on both hands were real and raising upwards at Revenant.
"Real solstice slasher, real solstice slasher!"
Addison calling out which caused everyone to back away quickly as well Revenant who ducked from the swing and watching its movement. Before he could do anything, he saw two beams of energy hitting the creature as it came from Addison and A-Spen's wrists bands. Though before the rest could react, they saw in the air what looked like a costume floating downwards as well the people behind it.
"You guys?!"
Revenant shouting at Zed and Wyatt who were behind the scare as the two boys couldn't help but laugh at how everyone reacted to the 'solstice slasher'. Before he could respond towards the joke, he didn't notice coming from behind was Wynter who tackled Zed and Wyatt thinking that it was the actual slasher. The pair fell onto the ground surprised at her tackle and shocked at how fast she came at them.
"Guess you two should have thought about executing that prank in front of a werewolf that's had history in fighting monsters."
Eliza telling Zed and her boyfriend at how it backfired on them, though it seemed they didn't regret it as she helped the two up off the ground. With things settled and the joke now finished, Willa had everyone getting back to work on the solstice party. Not knowing in the forest was something watching them in silence, as well growling at how many there were and waiting for the right moment to strike.
Later-Night Time
With preparations of the solstice party now complete and the set up ready, the entire wolf pack arrived to enjoy the festivities as well the full moon that was shining upon them. Waylon doing a performance for the pack with his bone staff as well spinning it around several times while several wolves by the side were playing drums during the show. By the tables was A-Spen who was trying out the meat that Willa prepared for them and looked nervous on what they'd thought of her choice in meals.
"While challenging to chew on, it's is still satisfying to eat."
Offering a compliment to Willa which made the alpha smile at the compliment seeing how she was the one that did the cooking for everyone since it was the alpha's duty in making sure the food was perfect. Right now everyone was doing numerous activities for the pack such as putting on music, doing several games and most importantly practicing their howling for when midnight would come around and everyone ready to show their best howl for the pack. Right now the only one that seemed to be keeping his attention to one of the wolves was Revenant who was by Wynter's side as they were watching the pack enjoying themselves.
"Zed told me that you've been hitting the books for a bit since we decided to take that break. I thought you'd hang around with your family and the special zombies."
Wynter asking him that with them away from each other and resolving several things that happened to them, he'd speak with the Jones and let out any feelings or issues he's been keeping hidden from everyone after he survived the fall and almost dying on the beach.
"I did. They showed me some new books they've worked on about the zombie body, especially how normal zombies with the Z-band have been getting better at controlling their zombie side. Me? Still a mystery it seems."
Responding to her about how he read from his parents files after they left Seabrook to help the trio in controlling their powers. While he was still figuring himself out on the extent of his true strength since he hasn't fully seen how strong he truly was without risking removing his Z-band.
"Well I like mysteries. Especially that some of them are fun when you learn what that mystery is."
Expressing an interest in learning about himself and not minding him doing something that was exciting since she's had enough to last her a whole month. Right now with them at the party and seeing everyone having fun was what she needed, a peaceful night with her friends and family. Revenant smiled at her as he missed Wynter's optimistic personality, as well cherishing it in anything they're either at or doing. The two didn't notice from the trees was Zed and Addison watching the couple looking at the fire as well the werewolves enjoying themselves.
"This is the first time I think I've seen Revenant smile in a while. Especially how after he took a break from looking after Seabrook."
Addison admitting to seeing him crack a smile for a while since he's decided to take it easy and take up reading. Even during that time he wasn't happy but just settling down, right now with him back with Wynter it was like seeing his old self again.
"With Brit and Nightwing handling on anything going on, I think he needs it. Especially us who almost went through a nonstop summer day after that trinket you bought."
Zed adding onto her claim for their friend to taking it easy and bringing up the endless summer situation that happened to them. It earned a light slap on his shoulders making the two laugh at the moment, the subtle moment between the couple was halted by a twig snapping behind them. Looking behind what they thought might have been werewolves gathering more sticks for the fire pit, there was nothing but trees and nothing visible to see. Zed scuffed at the twig snapping thinking someone was playing a prank on them.
"Okay guys. That solstice slasher joke was funny but it's done now, maybe you should come out and enjoy the party Willa set up."
Calling out to anyone who might have been messing with him along deciding to see who was hiding out in the bushes. Addison, who wasn't getting scared but cautious as her hands began to show several sparks of energy due to her alien genetics acting up. The zombie continued to look around for whoever was messing with them, only to bump into something big and breathing in front of him. Taking a moment to figure out what exactly was in front of him, Zed looked upwards seeing a man bigger than himself and wearing a gas mask in which the stranger stared directly at Zed.
"Did, Wyatt hire you?"
Asking in a worried tone as the stranger breathed deeply not responding to Zed's question as he lets out a heavy groan which sounded like a roar. Tumbling back and preparing to deactivate his Z-band to unleash his zombie side, he saw a jolt of electricity flying passed him and shocking the stranger. The two teens moved back as well making their way to the party where the pack could see them as they noticed the couple acting frightened.
"Zed? I thought we'd agree to do the solstice slasher prank when things died down."
Wyatt asking his friend before the werewolf noticed the smell coming from where the two were at. Other werewolves noticed as well saw the lumbering stranger moving forward as well showing himself fully, wearing what looked like dark blue denim clothes and covered in dirt. The man stumbled a bit before he lands on his knees possibly trying to shake off the electricity that Addison shocked him with.
"Find, slasher."
Muttering in his voice before collapsing on the ground and passing out in an instant. With how it seemed the stranger wasn't getting back up, Revenant who saw the scene rushed over to check it out along with Willa and Waylon who kept the pack away for the zombie to see if the stranger was conscious. Taking a moment to look at the man closer, he noticed his skin color was dark green, he looked human from the bruises he apparently had on him. As the werewolves continued to try and take a closer look, Wynter made it pass through the others concern if Rev needed help. Just as she made it to see her boyfriend working, her gaze looked to what was on the stranger's waist.
"Guys? Those don't exactly like claws."
Telling Willa and the others as they saw by the stranger's side was two butcher knives that were stained in what looked like blood. Most of the werewolves didn't know whether to be afraid that the myth was real or attack him, but Zed was thinking that this not might be the slasher from Willa's story. As well that if there was one running around the forest, then who exactly was the masked stranger who warned him about finding the slasher.
Later-Abandon Factory
In an unmarked location away from anyone who would notice was a ruckus happening in an old building that had been closed down for years. Inside was screaming and shouting amongst the hallways as a group of men wearing kitchen clothing was running away. Passing through broken windows and torn off doors, the chefs fled in terror from what was chasing after them. Making their way to the kitchen, they quickly locked the doors and armed themselves with any cutlery they could find in the room.
"It's impossible. That girl tore a part through our best cooks like if they were cheese. And the boss left us to deal with her!"
One of the chefs telling the others as he was scared from what they were being chased by due to how there were more of them that could fill a five star restaurant. Now it was only six of them that were either trying to coop with the injuries they'd sustained or unable to react at the girl's resilience in taking them out one by one. Hearing a clattering sound from the doors and hesitating at whoever was standing on the other side, one of the chefs were hesitate at checking if it was her.
"What are you waiting for? Go see if she's out there!"
Shouting any of the remaining chefs as neither of them wanted the chance to end up like the others who were left behind. Pushing one of their own out to check if the girl they were being chased by was outside, the frightened man held a tenderizer tightly readying himself to clobber her quick. Grabbing the handle and pulling it out fast, there was no one outside of the hallway. Before telling the others, he was dragged out by whatever was waiting for him as the others started to hear screaming and the sounds of several beatings coming from him. It soon stops as the five chefs held their weapons tightly preparing to handle the pursuer, but that was until they saw the chef that was by the door flying back into the room with broken arms as well him with bruise marks that came from the tenderizer.
"Next time send something with more meat on his bones. The rest of the chefs I've met with were just like this one."
Spoke the girl that was chasing after them as the five chefs looked at her seeing a sight to behold as well afraid at the same time. Having blue eyes with raven hair, she had on a black short sleeve shirt with black and red stripped sleeves along holding the same tenderizer that the chef had on him.
"So, who's going help me find the real chef? Otherwise I won't be so gentle like with this one you threw at me."
Asking them for who was in charge of them which resulted in the chefs to retort with a battle cry as they rushed at her ignoring whatever fear they had coming from her. Except with one of them as he watched the four chefs being taken out one by one, watching what the girl do to the men. It was nothing but bone breaking and screams right in front of him until she knocked out the last chef.
"Guess your the only one with some sense. Meaning, you'll answer some questions. First, where's my friend and the hostage?"
Questioning the frightened man as she pulled out from her side a wooden baseball bat with nails in it along two words saying 'kiss it'. Aiming it right at the tip of his head, her eyes glared at him preparing to knock him out with one swing.
"Second. Where's your boss, the slasher?"
Asking him again as the chefs that were running from her were hired help for this suppose mad man she was after. Unable to answer her question, the girl looked at his pocket seeing what looked like a pamphlet about a town stained in sauce. Taking a look it talked about Seabrook being the best place to feel at home, no matter where the visitors came from. Getting her answers, the girl decided to walk out of the kitchen leaving the hired help alive.
"If you think we we're easy. Then you'll be pushing your luck against our boss, he'll dice you up and those people in that town. Not even the infamous Cassie Hack could take him on alone."
Mocking her at the idea of chasing after his boss as well having a small knife hidden in his sleeves as he rushed at Cassie from behind. Only to be swatted away by her bat and sent flying through the window and going outside where she heard a thump hitting the ground. Looking back at the pamphlet as it showed directions to where it was located.
"Hang on Vlad, I'm coming."
Telling herself before making her way outside and heading into a van she owned which held several weapons along a photo she had near the dashboard. Placing the pamphlet on the side where the directions was located, she started up the engine and made her way to Seabrook in the hopes of finding her friend and hunt down the slasher that kidnapped him. No matter what would stand in her way.
"Introducing Cassie Hack and Vlad from the Hack/Slash comic series. Renowned horror characters, they chase after mad men and monsters called 'Slashers'. Stay tuned to see how she'll react in visiting a town full of monsters."
