Cassie Hack Pov:

"There are times when I think my life can't get any more messed up as it is now, involving hunting down slayers in a small truck and ordering takeout. Me and Vlad being trapped in a small town that has monsters and humans acting like actors from a musical? Is by far the worst thing to ever get involved in and it's because of one small job in looking for someone's sasquatch. Now, I have to relieve the worst years in high school with zombies who don't even act like zombies. I can't say the stay isn't all that bad, Vlad is making many friends around Seabrook and has a place to continue working out since he enjoys hitting something once in a while. As for me? I got to work on my blog to talk about the social life of this small town to my readers, and to the friends I do have on the outside world who aren't frightened of me. As well as the ones I have recently made since they'd invited me to a night of board games."

Zombie town-Zed's House

It was a peaceful night in Zombie Town as Zed had the house to himself while his dad was working late. He was watching Zoey while having several friends over for a study group along with playing board games to help pass the time. Being invited over were Eliza, Wyatt, Brit, Revenant, and Cassie who were hanging out in the living room since there was enough space to have everyone fit in. The Slayer of Slayers was on her laptop working on her blog as she'd already finished the light homework that Cassie had to complete since her recent registration to Seabrook High. Continuing her work, she heard the sound of whimpering coming from behind the sofa as it was Puppy who was looking at the human girl.

"Zed? Why is there a giant zombie dog hiding like it's going to the vet?"

Cassie asked Zed as she attempted to try and pet Puppy to show him that there was nothing to be scared about, it only left the zombie dog to run on all four behind the zombie and whimper at how frightening the human was toward him.

"He's been acting up lately. Scared most of the time, guess the weirdness that's been happening has started to affect him. Or he knows there's someone more scarier than himself."

He explained to Cassie that out of the time that he's been around Seabrook and living with Zoey the house along with seeing new things that came into town had made him afraid. With that being said, Cassie could see how frightening she could be even if didn't scare anyone on purpose.

"The best thing to do is let him know you more. It took a while for him to understand that my Tombstone armor wasn't a fire hydrant."

Eliza offered Cassie advice since Puppy was a complicated dog that needed time to learn who he could trust and who he shouldn't. She shrugged her head at how it would take time for her to befriend the dog, In the meantime, Cassie could try and socialize with the others since she was going to hang out with the Z-Gang.

"It's still surprising that none of you had actual parties that involved drinking and playing loud music. You already have a tone full of monsters who would enjoy going there for a scare or two."

She remarked that during the past few days of her being here in Seabrook and spending time amongst the numerous groups that included humans, zombies, werewolves, and aliens, none of them showed the usual traits of being teenagers living the moment and following the same traits that most people do in a horror movie before they ended up in the graveyard.

"That's because we have a movie theater that shows old-school horror movies. Also, the Monster Society has a movie night just in case anyone gets into those situations. Plus drinking? None of us do that."

Zed informed Cassie that the stereotype of teenagers hanging out and acting recklessly didn't happen in Seabrook and everyone was cautious about their actions whenever they were in a mysterious moment. Deciding to continue typing on her blog and allowing the others to continue with their board game, Revenant looked over at Sentinel's boss Britney who was in the middle of reading graphic novels since she'd finished her homework.

"You read comics? Why didn't you tell me about this? I'm always interested in these."

He spoke in excitement since he enjoyed reading graphic novels and comics whenever he wanted to read anything that involved excitement and imagined him handling them since he'd had his adventures that were similar to the stories. Brit moved her novel away from the zombie which left Rev to slip on the ground as he glared at the human girl for not sharing it with him.

"These are more than graphic novels. This happened, I found them in a file cabinet hidden in Quil's old archives room, he had an interest in a war hero that no one knows about in Seabrook."

She explained that it was literature that wasn't made up and happened outside of Seabrook. This only got Revenant interested as he was able to take one of the novels to see what Brit talked about, the gang got intrigued by this as well and they attempted to grab several novels which irritated the human since they were in mint condition and were priceless.

"Lobster Johnson? He's not even a lobster."

Wyatt claimed that the person in the novel was a human who called himself 'Lobster' Johnson who wasn't even a lobster. It caught Cassie's attention as she wrapped up her blog about her stay at Seabrook as the slayer looked up any information on the person they were reading about.

"Call him what you want but he's a war hero and a conspiracy theory. During the Second World War, these comics were published about these events happening and stopping the Iron Cross. Then, years later several retired soldiers were interviewed about a masked man burning them with a lobster claw on their foreheads."

Cassie informed them that the man was fictional and real at the same time as she showed them black and white photos of soldiers burnt with the symbol of a lobster claw on their foreheads. There were old recordings and speculation that it was an overeager fan who decided to be an actual vigilante for the army, but to no avail and mysteriously left before he could serve.

"The irony is how he and Revenant have similarities. Facing the unknown for their people and ending up surviving to tell the tale, but getting a comic? Not likely. More or less one that's bizarre as this one."

Eliza made a similarity between her friend and The Lobster but did not get published as she handed Revenant one of the novels which talked about one of Johnson's capers that involved him invading an island. The vigilante was informed about a scientist who was developing a new weapon that could think and react to the Allies' best men without tiring or stopping.

"Kriegaffe. Isn't that German for 'war ape'?"

He asked as Rev had been practicing different languages since the creatures he'd encountered were from different countries and were based on their fables. The gang took a look at the novel where they saw Johnson attempting to stop what looked like a cybernetic gorilla that had been changed into a mindless war machine. Just as they had felt engaged in reading about what was about to happen next, they didn't notice that they weren't the only ones in the living room.

"Hey, Zed what are you doing?!"

Shouted none other than his little sister Zoey who gave them a scare as they jumped out of their chairs except for Cassie who was used to getting jumped by Slayers who tried to attack her and Vlad. She couldn't help but congratulate her on the scare since she didn't hear her coming down the stairs and keeping quiet during their conversation.

"Working and playing board games. You should be upstairs doing yours with the markers set that dad bought for you."

Zed reminded her about a new collection of markers that would help out with her creative drawing along with upcoming art projects she had to finish before the night was done. Hearing that comment made Zoey glare at Zed before showing off five markers which she pressed at his check to try and be intimidating.

"These are gel-tipped, duel-point, jet-masters art pens. Limited, edition. Glitter. Also, free books!"

She got serious before her attention went to the graphic novels as Revenant took several of them and kept them up in the air, so she didn't get them. The others didn't know if it was adorable or awkward since they didn't want to traumatize her with the graphic stories that Lobster Johnson had gotten involved with during his time in service.

"Graphic. Novels. And it wouldn't be great if you got nightmares from these books, maybe I can find something that's more your level of reading."

Brit apologized to the zombie girl while she'd been involved in the fight against the Big House's inmates during the Blight invasion. There were several things that Zoey wasn't ready to learn about, especially how there was a deranged human who experimented on animals to then make them into weapons of mass destruction. The zombie girl huffed at how they saw her as a small kid despite being involved in several incidents that proved to them, she wasn't the naive zombie girl they knew when they first met her. Looking over at the novel the masked human who was helping out humans along with numerous creatures, Zoey had an idea on how she could hear the tales.

"Then I'll bring the guy from the stories to life with Wyatt's moonstone to tell me his stories!

She proclaimed as it left the room falling silent at the idea that Zoey came up with since the idea was ridiculous along the Moonstone was unable to perform such a feat. The zombie girl growled at how they didn't take her seriously as she took the lime soda from the side, Zoey was able to take the moonstone necklace off him and spilled it on the stone. Just as the two combined, it generated a spark that zapped the graphic novel which glowed ominously. Covering their eyes at the light blinding everyone, they heard the sound of a roar coming from the novel before hearing a smashing sound going through the backyard.

"What the hell just happened?"

Cassie questioned how a girl's temper tantrum caused a small explosion to happen in someone's living room. Eliza walked over to help Wyatt to see if he was alright when Zoey used the Moonstone in the novel but noticed the hole that was made which showed something had leapt out of the pages into existence.

"My guess? The combination of an ancient moonstone and lime soda caused whatever was in the novel to come to life and is right now learning about its surroundings."

She responded to Cassie's question as Zoey got up from the ground confused at how she didn't expect that to happen. Revenant went to check on the novel to see the cover with two people missing except for the mad scientist who remained behind. Suddenly the zombie noticed his amulet glowing which meant this was a supernatural presence in the room, before he could say anything the other's attention was aimed at one of the individuals who left the graphic novel and was aiming a pistol behind Rev's head.

"Name and rank son."

He heard a commanding tone as Rev turned around slowly to see the shooter was Lobster Johnson in the flesh. He had the goggles, and the lobster symbol on his chest and had the presence of an old-school crime fighter.

"Name? Revenant. Rank? If I had one it would be, a soldier."

Revenant answered the man's question of who he was and what ranking he'd fit in since the zombie was unable to think of anything at the moment with a pistol pointing at his face. With that being said, the Lobster placed his pistol away before walking right through him which shocked the boy with how he felt like a ghost when he phases through him. Looking confused about why he could do that, Brit grabbed the half-burnt novel to see what happened in the end.

"It says here that this was his last mission before he sacrificed himself by destroying the island. There were no survivors, including him."

She had informed everyone as it seemed that what they were looking at was the ghost of Lobster Johnson. They were trying to figure out how he could make it out while being dead at the same time, the young adults said nothing as they saw Lobster Johnson walking over to inform them about the situation.

"I don't know how this happens and I don't much care. I have a specially designed Kriegaffe on the loose that's been given orders to activate sleeper units across the country. It needs a lot of power, where would it go?"

Johnson announced what the creature's plan was and would awake more of its kind that would cause havoc wherever they were hidden. Taking a moment to grasp the idea of what one of the war apes could do on their own. Eliza showed him her cellphone which showed an image of Seabrook High having installed an alien tower that A-Spen and Aerial had helped build to help enhance the technology for the faculty. With that being answered, the Lobster said nothing but made his way after the gorilla to make sure he didn't wake up the other units.

"This is way better than hearing a story. We're going live it!"

Zoey announced as the others looked behind to see the zombie girl riding on Puppy's back before the dog leaped out through the hole in the house and joined the vigilante to stop the war ape from commencing its plan. The others stood there watching Zed's little sister going off to assist the vigilante and possibly getting hurt during the encounter.

"My dad. Is going to kill me, and that's before he makes me fix the whole in the house!"

Zed panicked at how he let his baby sister bring out a masked vigilante who was hunting an ape that was planning on waking up others that would start a worldwide invasion. Along lets her go off to engage in the fight and explains to his father why there's a hole in the house. Not saying anymore, the teenagers took off to try and make it to the high school before Lobster Johnson or the war ape could make it there and start redecorating the school.

Later-Seabrook High

The school was closed with only the security lights on and no one walking around the area since it was the last place anyone would want to be at night. Getting there first was Lobster Johnson as he was able to take a look at the school along take a moment at how things had changed around him. From the people changing to their technology, Johnson felt out of place in this era almost at home with Seabrook expressing a classic eighties lifestyle environment. Walking over to the door and picks the lock as he makes his way into the front entrance and tries to locate the large cyborg ape. Making his way through the hallway and keeping quiet, he heard footsteps coming from behind he aimed his hand which had his burning claw hand as it was Puppy who was protecting Zoey as the pair had gotten here before her brother and his friends.

"You shouldn't be here little girl. This is dangerous work."

Johnson warned Zoey about being her which made the zombie girl growl at how she continued to be viewed as an inexperienced kid. Following the vigilante deeper through the halls, Zoey instructed her dog to keep quiet while also attempting to prove to Lobster that she wasn't a little girl.

"I'll have you know that you're not the first ghost that I met. And I know how to be dangerous, especially to humans when they underestimate me."

Zoey whispered to him about the confidence that she had built up growing up in Seabrook and having been involved in numerous incidents that led to dangerous moments. The trio continued to walk past the hallways before the Lobster stopped Zoey and Puppy as he looked behind the corner to see one of the computer labs destroyed.

"Bravery doesn't do anything but make mistakes if you're not careful. Especially how it involves someone wanting to prove to their older siblings that they don't need looking after."

He responded to Zoey as the zombie girl was surprised how he knew about how she brought him and the gorilla out of the novel. Deciding to not say anything, she watched him walk over to see what the gorilla might have stolen to help wake up the rest of the Kriegaffe.

"It's not easy for me growing up in a town filled with zombies and werewolves that can get into fights without being scared. More or less seeing everyone protecting one another from people who want nothing more but to ruin what my friends have worked hard to make. I don't want to be the one on the sidelines, I want to help as well."

She explained to him how it bothered her for not being able to help everyone whenever they were in danger. All she could do was watch and wait to see the outcome of the issue. With nothing but destroyed computers and torn-up wires, he walked out of the computer lab and noticed the look on Zoey's face of desiring to be a part of the moment.

"I remember long ago there were many young adults enlisting in the army. Ready to serve their country and protect their families, each of them willing to fight for a cause. But coming back home changed them, it made them learn there was more to being tough in front of an enemy. The only way you can prove your capability is by showing your friends what you can do. Not getting into danger to prove it."

The Lobster offered her advice that getting yourself in danger wouldn't do anything but get hurt and others protective over them. Meaning that this incident would make Zed and the others keep a closer eye on her. Realizing what that meant and knowing she'd have to apologize to her brother and the others for what she did, there was movement coming from the second level to that of the ceiling cracking as something heavy was making it heave.

"Get back!"

He shouted to Zoey as Puppy grabbed her by the collar and pulled his owner away the roof caved in on Johnson and the hallway was covered in smoke and debris. Unable to see the human, she did notice the gorilla with metal hands and yellow eyes glaring at her. Snorting its nose and showing off sharp teeth, the war ape walked on all fours and saw the zombie as a threat. Attempting to use her Z-Band to let out her inner zombie, it was interrupted by a gunshot that was aimed directly at its forehead which came from Revenant as he and the others had arrived just in time to save her.

"Get away from my sister!"

Zed roared as he had changed his Z-Band settings to let his zombie side out as he threw several garbage cans at the gorilla. Revenant led the charge as he was accompanied by Cassie who was armed with her baseball bat, Wyatt with his claws out, and Eliza who brought her Tombstone armor to assist in matching the ape's size and strength. Brit saw what looked like the Lobster underneath the rubble as she attempted to help get him out of it while Zed went over to see if Zoey was okay.

"Did he hurt you?"

"No. But I want to fix the mess that I put everyone in, I need to do this. Please."

She responded to Zed's question about her being okay and having to take responsibility for letting out the war ape. Looking over and seeing the Kriegaffe overpower the others with no effort, it left the older brother to accept Zoey's help as the first thing he allowed was having Puppy go off toward the ape and pounce on him. Having the zombie dog giving them an edge, Zed and Zoey went over toward the ape's arms and kept them pinned. The others made sure to not let the creature up as Brit had managed to help Johnson out of the rubble.

"I know in the novel you had to blow up the island to stop this thing. Which we're not going do, but there is another way you handled threats."

Brit reminded the vigilante about one of the reasons why people called him Lobster. Understanding the reference and seeing the Sentinel leader using her yo-yos to help keep him restrained, Johnson made his way toward the top of the gorilla where he showed his left hand that had the symbol of a lobster's glow as it was glowing red.

"May you be given peace in death, that you could not have in life!"

He announced before hitting the top of the gorilla's head with his claw the Kriegaffe let out a roar in pain as Johnson's hand was able to restrain him which left everyone to move away. Remembering how this all started, Eliza is lucky to bring a can of lime soda and hands it to Wyatt as he combines it with his moonstone which causes the war ape to glow brightly as it returns to the graphic novel that Brit brought to help return it from where it came.

"I'm going to question the soda company since these shouldn't be allowed around anyone. Ever!"

Revenant shouted at how the soda can was still dangerous around mystical items that could bring things to life. With the situation handled, Cassie had to be the one to interrupt the moment as she had to bring up another issue that needed to be resolved.

"What about the vigilante? Does he get a trip back to comic land?"

She questioned Johnson if he would be given the same treatment as he would return to the graphic novel. He smirked at her notion before pointing at Brit's book which they looked at where the cover had been restored with the ape on the cover as well as him being there. It astounded them how the Lobster was there and were going to question him how it was possible, he had vanished.

"Ok. So this is the story. There was a monster that went wild, it came to Zed's house looking for food. Then to the school to cause trouble, we stopped it but it escaped custody. And there was no Lobster."

Brit told them their story and what had happened as she would get Sentinel to repair the damages to the school and Zed's house so their father didn't freak out. Everyone agreeing with the alibi, they decided to make their way out of the school and head back to the house. Meanwhile, Zed smiled at Zoey for fixing her mistake and knowing she could handle herself. Continuing their walk back to Zombie Town and noticing his amulet faintly glowing, Rev turned the corner of his head where he saw on top of the alien tower was The Lobster looking down on him and saluting to protecting the people.

"This town is getting weirder and weirder every day."

He muttered to himself as the zombie made his way to his friends while Johnson looked at the group as well as Seabrook sensing the supernatural incidents that had happened here. Meaning that it be best if he'd stick around to see how things would play out since Rev reminded him of someone who fight the unknown. Which left the ghost to smirk at the excitement that would happen in town.
