From Season 1, Episode 1

The Danger Zone Logo appears and then fades out. Justinius is at his desk but the camera angle is tilted to show two chairs on a rug to the left of the desk. Sitting in the first chair was an absolutely enormous and very muscular man with bronze brown skin. It was a skin that radiated health so intensely that it seemed almost burnished. He wore a tight bodysuit over which he was clad in an armored chest plate that sported an emblem close to his heart of a human form holding up a globe containing the starry sky within. Each of his mighty forearms was affixed with what appeared to be a bronze bracer from which dangled two links of chain. His appearance, from his impossibly perfect hair coiled in a series of dreadlocks that fell to his waist, to his almost achingly handsome face framed by a pair of warm brown eyes was impeccable.

"Welcome back everyone! I doubt I need to introduce our new guest, the leader of Detroit's super team the Titans! Atlas himself! Mateo Johnson!" Justin announced.

"Hey man! How's the show doing?" Mateo asked. His voice, while powerful, was of such perfect timber to be an auditory delight.

"Pretty good. John's in time out. Pop-Pop got bored and left. Mom's making popcorn balls so we got that going for us."

"I'll have to pick one up as I leave then," he said, flashing his perfect white teeth, giving a smile that radiated more warmth than a summer day.

"So, today we were going to talk about how Nova powers work. As an expert in helping Nova's develop themselves, what can you tell us about it, Mateo?"

"Well, the moment our powers come to us we can remold our physical forms. During this catalyst; an eruption is the common term for it, more quantum power fills us than is normal as it's the first time the dimensional barrier is breached.

"In those first moments, our initial powers are set; the initial abilities that define us as Novas. However, that is not the end of our development. Like anyone else, we can, through effort, continue to change and grow. Through exercise, our physical, mental, or even social powers can be enhanced.

"The less grounded abilities we have like flight or teleportation can be honed as well. We do this by pushing ourselves to the limits of our power. Sometimes, completely new abilities can be developed based on either outside stimuli or some intense internal desire. It all takes hard work and dedication."

"So, if I was to work out like crazy I could be as strong as you?"

"That's right! Or, I could put in the time to be as smart as you are. While we all have our original base gifts, like the rest of humanity, one advantage of being a Nova is we aren't fixed. Our adaptive biology can build upon the framework we're given to give us an amazing power of growth. All of that takes time, however, so anyone who wants to be some sort of omni-disciplinarian had best work on building their stamina and physical robustness so they age slower. You will need eternity to reach that sort of goal."

"Some people seem to think that with Novas being able to adapt and grow so much there is no place for baseline humans to shine. They claim someday that Novas will eclipse everyone like Homo Sapiens Sapiens did with the other early branches of humanity. What do you say to that?" Justin asked.

"Evolution is not about power or strength, it's about adaptability. The shark will not thrive in the mountains nor the bear in the depths. There are plenty of people out there I wouldn't want to tangle with. I don't have their experience or skill. As well there are possible downsides to being a Nova that might mean we will discover significant downsides to our development as well. We've already seen people empowered by Neotic and Flux-based energy spectrums which Novas are unable to tap. This hints that humanity's sunset is too far off to be predicted.

"Life in the universe is changing and someday, maybe, some future scientist will draw a line in the sand and say this is where Homo Sapiens Sapiens cuts off and Homo Sapiens Stellaris begins. I highly doubt any of us will be around to see that, however. We are talking tens of thousands to millions of years.

'Til then, I recommend treating your fellow humans the same way you want them to treat you. It's a pretty gold standard way to be. Pretty basic ethical philosophy stuff."

"As opposed to unethical philosophies?" Danger asked

"Yeah the Terragen. They can bite my CENSORED" Mateo's anger seemed to almost darken the whole room only to fade quickly.

"AH! We'll be back after these messages!"

Fade out starts but the sound still plays.

"Dude this is a family show."

"Sorry, sorry, I just hate those guys."
